We enjoyed our stay here very much. From our welcome from Paul, to the delicious breakfasts, beautiful gardens. The Tartan Room had a very comfortable bed and ample pillows and covers. Nicely appointed bathroom, lots of hot water and fluffy towels. Very accommodating to booking our taxis for us and early morning departures. Highly recommended!!
They were very accommodating of my bicycle and an early start to the Étape Loch Ness. Room was lovely, good supply of coffee, tea, and biscuits. Enormous bath tub!
Paul was amazing! The place was cozy and the breakfast was a great way to start the day. Very easy walk into the main strip for dinner. They were also very helpful and accommodating when it came to my disabilities!
Great time at this beautiful cozy house! Quiet and extremely clean. Room was comfortable and breakfast was delicious!
We loved staying at Trafford Bank Guest House! This property is lovely with well kept grounds and comfy suites. We had a picture window overlooking the street and enjoyed easy walks into town. The staff at this guest house are also very nice and helpful and the breakfast was great! Highly recommend.
We agree with previous reviews that the ownership has changed. While our host was friendly and helpful, the experience didn’t quite live up to the hype from previous guests of the previous owners. Housekeeping aggressively knocked on our door our first morning (we were still sleeping as we were a bit jet lagged) despite there being a ‘do not disturb’ sign on the door. The next day she was also aggressively banging and grumpy at the exact time of check out. The lack of any evening snack/drink was a bit disappointing as you’re not super close to anything later in the evening. We found the room beautiful and the bathroom fantastic. Breakfast was good and we love to walk so we’re happy to walk the 20-30 minutes into the main town.
My husband and I had a great stay at this bed and breakfast. It is about a 15 minute walk from the city center, but that was not so bad, and there are plenty of places to park in the city if you’d rather drive.
Beautiful and the owners were so wonderful
A Gem!
A real gem near the city centre.Fabulous breakfast and a beautiful house full of history and attention to detail. Highly recommend!
We stayed here for a week when we used Inverness as a homebase to explore western Scotland. We had a fantastic time and the lodging was superb.
Lovely stay.
Excellent location, service, amenities, room, and breakfast - a quiet, comfortable place away from the city centre
Wonderful breakfast and very pleased with our room.
Nice architecture, comfortable room.
We really enjoyed staying here Close enough to be able to walk to city center, but far enough away to be able to relax.
Perfect stay
Excellent. The owners and Paul were wonderful. The B&B was quaint and beautiful. Area was quiet. Very walkable, straight shot to pedestrian bridge over the water. Recommend this for anyone looking for an idyllic stay
We had a lovely stay at the Trafford. Paul was very helpful and accommodating. The garden is lovely. There was a bit of an issue with low water pressure in the shower and the shower was quite small for my husband but that didn’t outweigh the many positives, including a fabulous bathtub. We would definitely stay here again!
Lovely, welcoming, calm and peaceful bed and breakfast in a great location for accessing the city too. Very helpful in helping one get ones bearings. Would highly recommend
It was a lovely elegant place to stay. Paul was helpful, attentive, and informative. This is a hidden jewel of a place to stay in Inverness
We wish that B & Bs and smaller hotels would stop using heavy scented cleaning products. It’s like a wearing a cologne - some people love it, others do not. We did not appreciate the heavy scent that permeated blankets, sheets and pillows. Plus the heavy chemicals pose a problem for asthmatics. Why is this usage still ongoing???
Paul was a wonderful host. The room was roomy, clean, and well appointed. Loved it!
Good location near University of Glasgow. Lots of dining options nearby.
I would highly recommend this property. It was clean quite and comfortable. The meal was delicious and Paul was an amazing host.
The host generously accommodated late arrival. Food was excellent and plentiful with good variety.
This property is a hidden gem in Inverness!! Clean, quiet, and quaint!! Our room was just lovely! The hosts were awesome! As Americans, we didn't have cell service and Paul gladly called a cab for us multiple times during our stay! Property is just minutes from the town center. Breakfast was wonderful. We stayed 3 nights. Just a beautiful and safe accommodation. Will definitely recommend to anyone traveling to Inverness!!
This guest house was lovely. Our room was 5-star quality and beautifully decorated. Paul who met us after our late arrival was very friendly and helpful
Great
Our short stay was very enjoyable, the hosts were very accommodating and helpful.
Nice spot but residential but only a 10 minute stroll to town. Very nice host. Lovely breakfasts.
Lovely hosts. Breakfasts were delicious . Rooms were spacious
amazing! house and owner lorraine were incredible! Lorraine unfortunately is selling so hope the new owners pay as close attention to detail as she did!
Beautiful property in a quiet setting And convenient location. Enjoyed the outdoor gardens around the house. The room, the bedding, the bathroom, The artwork in the common areas and in particular the breakfast were all outstanding. I will definitely try to stay here again when I come back to Inverness.
Great place to stay! Good hospitality :)
Very nice hostess and room and location. Especially good breakfast.
Very welcoming.
Very welcoming on arrival and much needed after a long journey, Good facilities and very comfortable.
Excellent stay
Marvelous place. Very clean. Lorraine is a great host.
Thank you for a wonderful stay!
We had a wonderful stay at Trafford Bank Guest House. The rooms were clean and beautiful, as was the rest of the house. Our host was incredibly helpful and friendly and the breakfast was amazing! We definitely would recommend this guest house and we would stay again.
We stayed in the self-catering cottage. It was comfortable, well-stocked, immaculate. Lovely garden to sit in. The best part are the hosts, Lorraine and Bob. Our tours were canceled last minute. We hired Bob to drive us for two days. His rate was very reasonable and he was delightful company, accommodating and suggested great places to see in the area. HIGHLY recommend Trafford Bank Guest House!
City Cottage
Lovely accommodation. We stayed in the city cottage which is self catering and it had everything we needed. We also had our own garden to relax in. We were very comfortable and the decor is beautiful
This place has so much character! The inn keeper has thought of everything. Amazing place to stay.
The property was lovely and thoughtfully decorated and carefully maintained. Breakfast was a delight, and the location was fantastic.
A neat and beautiful apartment for my stay in Inverness.
Very comfortable room, breakfast in a delightful sun room, and an easy walk to the center of town. Highly recommend.
NC 500
Fabulous stay in a lovely guest house The food was great and our host was very friendly
The cottage was lovely, and the hospitality was wonderful. We would absolutely stay there again.
The staff were wonderful and very helpful about helping us get about Inverness.
Stunning
Lorraine has thought of everything. Her home is stunning. The rooms are beautiful and luxurious. Little touches like complimentary sherry, variety of tea, coffees etc and all the bathroom products help to make your stay wonderful. Lorraine is friendly and had great advise on restaurants or walks near by. I would highly recommend this guest house to travellers. The problem is you won’t want to go home!
I can understand why other guests also gave excellent ratings. Unfortunately we were told that Loraine, who is running the B&B is going into retirement.
Comfortable clean room with everything you need (and more!) with an excellent host. Very friendly, warm persona and flexible in accommodating for our travel arrangements. A very restful stay after a long journey.
This is a beautiful property with really comfortable guest accommodation. Everything to make your stay enjoyable has been thought about and many needs catered for. We loved the individual character of each bedroom and all the special little touches which made us feel very much at home. The breakfasts were amazing and again tailored to meet our individual needs. That coupled with a friendly informative host made for a fabulous stay. We will definitely be back.
Highly Recommended
Wonderful weekend, welcoming host to a beautifully decorated Guest House. Very comfortable bed and room. Had a great weekend.
Excellent guesthouse beside the Caledonian Canal
We had an amazing stay at the Trafford Bank guesthouse. Room was definitely 5 star quality, as was the breakfast.
The best and friendliest guest house I have ever stayed in. A beautiful house and garden and charming hosts. Comfortable beds and many welcome amenities provided. Superb breakfasts.
Only stayed 1 night but would definitely stay longer next time. Fabulous host. Very helpful. The room was lovely and comfy with lots of nice touches. Warm clean and cosy. Breakfast was beautiful.
This place is truly a treasure and an oasis in Inverness. Gorgeous design and lovely service from the owner.
Outstanding
It was most exclusive and pleasant stay, owner’s are very helpful and professional to comfort every customer service and food was touch of luxury and outstanding. I would like to thank you to Lady Lauren for her worm welcome. ..... Finally espresso machine was the best at room enjoyed......
Awesome
We have just stayed at 4 different hotels in four days. This was simply amazing. Friendly, clean, great location. One of the best hotel experiences that we have had. This is a real gem.
Charming Guest House!
Lorraine, who owns the B&B, is an amazing host. The rooms are maintained (and decorated) with lots of love and thoughtfulness. You will feel a bit pampered in the room. The room itself was very functional, and we had all the necessary amenities (and more) to make our stay comfortable. Breakfast has to be agreed upon the night before. The breakfast itself was fresh, and tasty. Lorraine also helped us with good tips for our vacation, suggesting places to go or to eat at. The only thing I would note is that the shower in the Suite room is a bit small (especially for a tall and big person like me), but there is a comfortable bathtub, if that alternative suits well. All in all, it is a great place to stay.
This BnB was exactly what we were looking for! Quaint, charming, perfect breakfast and amazing location. The only issue we had was the Wifi, which was non existent in our room. You’re allowed to use the lounge where the service is much better, but it did become troublesome at times. Overall, this was an amazing stay and made our trip so much better. We would definitely come back!
Very nice hotel excellent Good breakfast Would stay,
Quiet, comfortable, friendly owner, fabulous breakfast. Lots of nice touches like sherry in room etc. You get what you paid for.
We had a fantastic experience at the Trafford Bank Guest House. The hospitality was great. We felt warm and welcomed, while also feeling safe with the robust measures in place to mitigate the risk of COVID-19. Both our room and the communal areas were clean and nicely decorated. The breakfast that we had was amazing. We would definately consider staying here again when we visit Inverness.
We had a lovely nights stay. The owner was extremely kind and let us check in a bit earlier, so we could leave our car and walk into town to start our christmas shopping. The “Floral” suite was very clean with some nice touches. The owner even left us some scottish sherry and shortbread. The guest house is very quiet and was on a quiet street which helped with a good nights sleep. The parking was plentiful and off road, right next to the house. The walk into town was very easy, only took about 10/15 mins. Our breakfast was delicious, plenty of choice and very well cooked. The only small negative would be the shower in that particular room was not very powerful. Apart from that, absolutely nothing to complain about.
This property was very well-located. The Trafford Bank House was very nicely decorated with many wonderful touches. The grounds were beautifully designed and inviting. Breakfasts were delicious and filling. The room was spacious and comfortable as was the bath. All in all a real gem, lovingly cared for.
Absolutely wonderful two night stay. Rooms were extremely clean and comfortable. Location was a quick 15 - 20 minute walk, or $5 cab ride, from the main area of Inverness. Lorraine, the owner, was truly hospitable and gave us plenty of useful tips about Inverness and the surrounding area. Delightful home cooked breakfast each morning. Sad we could not stay longer.
Wonderful historic home in Inverness. Well thought out amenities and items for guest comfort, very friendly and accommodating host, very clean and comfortable.
Perfect
What a lovely stay! Lorraine runs a beautifully decorated guest house, and sees to every detail. My room was comfortable and immaculately clean. I enjoyed all of the art and personal touches. Lorraine remembers details about each guest, which is amazing, I wish I could! She was very helpful whenever needed. Breakfast was very good and I enjoyed the Scottish Tatties and the Alessi alien coffee press. The place is out of the city center but an easy walk, and I was glad for the quiet. I highly recommend Trafford Bank Guest House.
The rooms were spacious, quiet and beautiful. Lorraine, our Host was wonderful. Breakfasts were elegant. Place was walking distance to restaurants, shops, train and bus depot, etc. Inverness is a wonderful small town in Scotland. Lorraine told us how to get everywhere, told us walking at night was safe (it was), and helped us set up Loch Ness tour.
Trafford house was a lovely B&B, the service was impeccable and the breakfast was great
The area feels like you’ve walked onto movie set of charming English b&b’s. And Lorraine’s place is wonderfully designed with a terrific breakfast prepared and served by Lorraine herself. All around, a very enjoyable one night’s stay in Inverness.
Room was very comfortable, as was the bed. Nice little touches (sweets, water, milk, fridge). Lots of storage. Lorraine was a lovely and attentive host. Only negative was that shower was not very powerful.
Trafford house is a charming bed and breakfast! My daughter and I had the green room. It was spacious and sweetly decorated with our own en-suite. Lorraine the hostess made us feel welcome from the moment we first arrived! Visiting Trafford House reminded me of visiting my Nanny’s house growing up! Thank you Lorraine for the wonderful stay! We will definately love to return if ever in Inverness again!
Attractive, charming, sophisticated. Nothing not to like.
À delightfull place and a very kind owner. I recommended it!!
Beautiful house in a great location on a quiet street. 10 minute walk into town. Lorraine the owner was extremely helpful with local tips, and she has decorated the house so thoughtfully. She makes a delicious breakfast too!
Very nice stay. Beautiful art and gardens. Comfortable beds. Very helpful. About a 10-15 minute walk to town center.
It's a lovely home with a glassed in sunroom where the bountiful breakfast is served. The hostess Lorraine is very gracious and takes pride in the upkeep of the home and the many items she provides for breakfast which she alone prepares. We stayed in the Floral Room which has a king-size bed. After a day of sight-seeing, it was a delight to come back and find cookies in the room to go with an afternoon coffee or tea. Location is within a reasonable walk into town on a nice day. Parking is within the gates of the house.
Absolutely wonderful place to stay. Couldn't have asked for a netter place to stay.
Beautiful location and historic building views to die for
5 Plus stars
We loved staying here! We felt so at home. Trafford Bank deserves 5 stars and then some! So many beautiful touches. It was so nice to come back and just relax in our room with a glass of complimentary sherry!! The breakfasts are amazing! Didn't want to leave. We were treated so well. Thank you! Thank you!
Great location in a beautiful home. The amenities were excellent, and the host was lovely.
We had an amazing stay at this superb guesthouse. Lorraine was a fabulous host, and the rooms were immaculate with every imaginable luxury. Breakfast was all locally sourced and was delicious. We'd stay here again in a heartbeat - very highly recommended.
A very lovely and unique guest house, with everything and more taken care of.
The property is perfect. The proprietor is welcoming and helpful. The room was decorated in a very unique and interesting way. All in a very good experience.
A friendly, quiet and cosy place with great breakfast, interesting artworks, and a lovely green garden setting.
the owner was extremely friendly and helpful. She is the best
We booked this property last minute on our way out of Skye going to Orkney. We were very surprised at how lovely this B&B was. Lorraine is an amazing host and so nice! So many thoughtful touches, beautiful decor and a fantastic (unexpected) breakfast. The house is within a decent walk to the downtown area with lots of food, pubs and shops. We wish we could have stayed longer!
We loved everything. Wonderful hostess/landlady and beautiful property.
Great place to stay! Walk to dinner
As advertised, the room was spacious for 2, private bath and shower, great internet and television had plenty of channels. She does a great breakfast in the morning.
The go to p’ace In Inverness
Second time for us, we reserve at the Guest House and still extremely satisfied. Breakfast amazing and tasty, quiet and the owners are wonderful persons.....highly recommended
A really nice place. Comfy room and particularly the bed. Hot water was a long time coming although there was a sign to that effect. Host was not particularly friendly so we didn’t ask for much. She did offer a ride to the bus station so we wouldn’t have to call a cab or walk. Breakfast was excellent.
Walking distance to most things, room was beautiful and everything carefully thought of, breakfast was also fantastic.
Traford bank
It was very good and warm hospitality. The place is beautiful and full with inspiration.
Beautifully decorated, breakfast was superb. Lorraine was very helpful with suggestions of where to go and eat. First class property.
This was our second visit to Inverness, and our second stay at Trafford Bank House. It is a charming bed and breakfast that feels more like a boutique hotel. There are modern touches as well as tasteful and lovely Scottish touches. The beds are cozy, linens glorious. The room is filled with ammenities that a traveller might need. The breakfast is wonderful! Each table is set with a variety of beautiful local pottery, the food is homemade and gourmet. We will stay in Trafford Bank Guest House any time we stay in Inverness. Lovely, lovely guest house.
Amazing
This place is amazing! I feel like I’m staying in a spa. The lady who owns it has thought of every little thing you could ever need in your room
The rooms in this 125yo hours are magnificent. Look at the Addams style ceiling and moldings in the sitting room! Never seen anything like them. The breakfast room looks into a gorgeous garden. The food was hot and great! Scotland’s b&bs are wonderful!
From the beautiful decor and light filled rooms to the fluffy towels and bathrobes, this place is extraordinary!

We had a lovely stay. The house was spotlessly clean, quite unique and beautifully decorated with great attention to detail. It was an easy walk into Inverness for food and shops. The breakfast was absolutely delicious with lots of choice and exceptional poached eggs! The house had a very peaceful serene feeling to it and was really relaxing. Paul and Tony were so friendly and very helpful. We would most definitely stay there again.
