Stay with family and dog.
Our first hotel stay with our dog and they were so dog friendly and made the whole experience easy and loved dogs.
The hotel was fne what I did not bargain for was having dogs in the dining room. I do not mind dogs but am never happy with them where I am eating so will not be going back.
Little gem not far from coast and castle.
2 night stay, arriving on a Sunday early evening, check in was great, lovely staff, advised us that there were free canapés for guests at 6.45, we had a wonderful meal in the restaurant, there was a choice of roast or other items off the menu. Our room was very comfortable and clean, breakfast in the morning had a good choice of cold buffet style items and also you could order hot food from the breakfast menu. There was a friendly bar area for the evenings and a nice outside seating area too. All in all a lovely stay.
All very good service
Food very good and service and staff were great. Would have liked more variation on evening meal was same menu the three nights I stayed. Did have a special but it was same for two nights
Highly recommend
Wonderful country pub comfortable room, fantastic food and great service. Would stay again.
Bedroom was of a good standard, and had all necessary facilities. No areas to be away from dogs staying at the hotel. There were 6 - 8 dogs at each mealtime, which was too much for us, they were fed by the staff, and a doggie accident meant staff cleaning up the poo.
Go for the breakfast 😋
Friendly helpful staff. Breakfast excellent.Room lovely and warm.
Fantastic
Great location , fantastic place with a lovely room and a delicious breakfast
Perfect weekend stay in a lovely hotel which offered great attentive staff / customer service. Would really recommend and can’t wait to return.
Relaxing stay to recharge
Really friendly and efficient.
Overnight stay
A good overnight stay in pleasant surroundings
Clean, comfortable and great food.
Arrived at 8:45 pm on a last minute booking. Restaurant last orders was at 8:30. Reception rushed through to the kitchen to squeeze me in. Very accommodating staff.
Great value in quiet country volkage
Lovely country pub with clean, comfortable rooms. Warm welcome. Great breakfast, wide choice of continental and cooked breakfast. Great value for money
Always comeback for the delicious breakfast
Stayed in this hotel many times before but this time we didn’t end up with a room we requested so the bed was just small and room was very hot even with all radiators off. We were part of larger family gathering so in the end we didn’t make a change. The one think which is always great is the breakfast. Delicious.
Good food and ales. Just needs decent pillows :). Will stay again.
The staff were all fantastic, the decor has been done so well and the food is of a high quality
Great overnight stay
Our second visit here and although good last time this time much better, especially the staff. So friendly and helpful. The best hotel we’ve stayed in for our Dog, Really appreciated that
Very warm welcome, both for us humans and especially the dog (complimentary bed/treats and dog bowl for her use during the stay). Dog welcomed throughout the hotel including main restaurant. Meal at dinner was excellent as was breakfast. Warm, spotlessly clean room, well appointed, close to the bar/restaurant and had a convenient small garden space for the dog's convenience. We'll be coming back.
The staff are all incredible, especially Evie who is always smiling, always helpful and a credit to the hotel. Dining is a very pleasurable experience, with food well prepared and delicious.
Exactly what we hoped it would be.
We have stayed here before and we were not disappointed
Lovely staff and fantastic food.
Great dog friendly place - comfortable and clean
Great little place for a local stay. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Restaurant is nice with attentive service. Breakfast was fantastic with continental as well as hot food. Dog friendly throughout and so welcoming. Great if you’re a dog person. Good proximity to both Southwold and Aldeburgh. The room does get hot so need to keep windows open. Hope it doesn’t rain else you’d have to close the roof window for fresh air.
Short Break
The hotel was in an ideal location, room was ideal for a one night stay. Staff were friendly and efficient, only had breakfast which was plentiful with several options of choice. Used the Tesco clubcard which reduced the cost by £50.
Lovely long weekend, lovely food and friendly staff.
Were welcomed and nothing wad too much tr3
Lovely property well converted from old cottages to modern rooms. Food lovely, staff very friendly. Only concern for us was that the room was so warm at night despite the use of a fan we struggled to get a full nights sleep. If you are a light sleeper I would suggest a room away from the road as passing traffic can be heard.
This dog friendly hotel was such a wonderful surprise from start to end. the room had a bed for the dog and treats. The staff was super friendly and our all birthday weekend was MAGICAL - Do not miss this one.
Rooms are in the main building & others on site. Knew on booking, dogs welcome but very unhappy when there were 7 in the restaurant at breakfast. Also owners allowing dogs on the furniture. Perhaps a more robust solution is required. We shall not stay here again.
You need to like dogs!
We enjoyed our stay - the staff were friendly and helpful. The room was ok but hard to cool down during the hot weather in spite of having a fan provided and the hot water was dangerously hot! We had invited friends to join us for dinner on the first night and the food was excellent. Unfortunately because of dogs being allowed in the dining room our conversation was punctuated throughout by a barking dog who the owners couldn't control. It really spoiled our evening. At our final breakfast there were 5 dogs in the dining area. The staff were very aware of the situation and gave us a quiet area for our second dinner and volunteered the same for breakfast. However I think there should be a separate area for dog owners. We have a dog in our family so we're not anti dogs but we are very aware that some people are allergic to or are scared of them and think that should be taken into consideration in public areas.
Excellent food served by a very friendly and attentive staff. An attractive, comfortable establishment situated in a pretty village with pleasant walks.
Great place. Highly recommend
Comfortable bed in a spacious room and nice to have a bath. Bit noisy as road quite busy. Dinner & Breakfast both excellent. Stayed in Bittern which had a wet room - difficult to drain shower water quickly!
Good food. Comfy bed.
Fabulous food
Claustrophobic room with no window/no sockets near a mirror/lack of shelving and safety grab handle in bathroom/far too many dogs wandering off lead.
Room and facilities were excellent food was also very good
if we want to go to Minsmere again this will be our choice hotel
2 night stay
Totally enjoyable stay at a very pleasant hotel with excellent staff and great food
The only issue I have is that the reception insisted on taking all the details from my credit card when it was unnecessary and leaves the card open to fraudulent use. They insisted that details were deleted after departure, but it is not necessary.
Excellent Hotel
Excellent hotel, friendly and accommodating staff. Clean, tidy room and great breakfast
Great hotel in a quiet village within an easy drive to the coast. We paid for early check in which made our overnight stay last a bit longer and gave us a base to explore nearby beaches. Dinner was lovely and staff accommodated dietary requests. The breakfast was fantastic offering a great range of continental and cooked options. Download the app. We got £10 loaded on as introductory offer! We have already recommended to family and friends
Friendly and helpful staff
A must visit again hotel
The hotel was very comfortable and relaxing. We had a lovely big room with a gorgeous shower. But the stand out element was the food. The evening meal was stunning and delicious and the cooked breakfast was outstanding. An extra plus is that they serve up free canapés every afternoon. They were perfect and really gave us a taster of what the evening meal would be like. And all of the staff were very welcoming. Cannot recommend this place enough. Will definitely stay there again.
Lovely place for a break
Lovely room and nice food - especially the fried breakfast. Friendly, helpful staff.
Great getaway
Loved how our room had a roll top bath, perfect way to relax. The added luxurious toiletries gave us a pampered feel. We particularly enjoyed the ILY coffee machine and high quality teas in the room, this all added to our experience. Breakfast was a delight having a mixture of continental and cooker dishes. The dining area was excellently decorated and we loved that it was only a stone throw away from our accommodation. Thank you for a relaxing stay.
The room was on the second floor up two flights of very steep, narrow stairs. Not ideal when carrying a puppy. The breakfast on the first day was ok (Poor quality bacon though), on the second day, despite offering Sourdough toast on the menu 10 times, they had none as ‘we don’t get a delivery on Sundays’. The alternative was cardboard, cheap toast. If only the management cared, perhaps they could order more on a Saturday, or get in the car to a local bakery? On the final morning there was no hot water for a bath. They also forgot to put my dogs food in the ftidge meaning we had to throw it away. Shoddy all round, I’d avoid if I were you
Westleton Dog Treat
This is a really nice and very dog friendly place to stay at if exploring the east Anglian coast. A few things are a little on the expensive side but overall very good. Great breakfast too,
Excellent stay for New Year's Eve with my husband.
Very welcoming and professional staff. Stylish, well decorated rooms with lots of little touches like the coffee machines and toiletries. Both the evening meal and East Anglian full breakfast were tasty, well cooked and full of local ingredients like local cheeses. Very dog friendly.
Surprisingly good hidden gem
Really nice hotel for a quiet getaway. Very friendly and helpful staff with good service. The food in both the evening and at breakfast was very good. They do need to sort out the in room entertainment though.
Couples getaway
Beautiful rooms (our second stay here). Much prefer the improved breakfast service. Lovely to see somewhere so dog friendly, although we didn't bring our pups this time. Great base for exploring the area.
Clean and comfortable room, great food and excellent service
Lovely place
Fab staff, great food.. such a welcoming place. I would definitely stay again hopefully without Storm Babet!!
The Hotel coped well with a power blackout on the Saturday. The outside staircase to my room was quite steep for elderly guests. The staff were all helpful and friendly.
The walls were very thin so you could hear everyone around us, making for not a very relaxing nights sleep. Breakfast service was incredibly slow
Spacious Room
Hotel was cosy, staff were lovely, food very good. Room was clean & spacious. The only thing I would like to make other travellers aware of. The hotel is dog friendly, which it does state on the website, therefore in the dining room when eating your dinner, you could have several dogs around you, (( we had 6 )) . I would've liked to have been given the option of eating my meal in a dog free area. Only because I'm scared of them. Otherwise I rate the hotel as lovely.
A fantastic hotel close to Minsmere and Dunwich. Lovely rooms and fabulous food, we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend if you are in the area.
Just lovely
We stayed one night and it was lovely. The staff made us feel so welcome and the room was amazing. We have been eating at the Crown for years and always wanted to stay, so this was a real treat for us. We were not diss appointed.
Great stay - lovely room and great breakfast. Thanks
24 hours in Westleton
Really lovely one night break away, excellent service. Nestle in the restaurant was top class engaging and suggesting wines and 20 year old ports to us. The room was really clean, slight problem with the shower door but reported to reception who were going to look at before the next guests arrived.
Nice cosy room, excellent shower, comfy bed, nice bed linen, great hospitality tray. Coat hangers much too high in wardrobe, couldn't even take them off the rail!! Window blind needs to be darker, lets daylight in too early!!
Would recommend staying at this pub
Firstly, the good: staff were all very pleasant and helpful, food in the restaurant, dinner and breakfast were all good, although the dinner was a little on the expensive side, the location was good, there was plenty of parking, the common areas of the hotel were all friendly and well furnished. Then the not so good: the room we had, was a basic room and was advertised as such but really for anyone over 5 feet, you're constantly banging your head on the ceiling as the room was in the roof attic space. The tiny shower cubicle with a fixed shower head which was lower than my head was impossible to use. The room also didn’t really smell too clean, fortunately there was a sky light in the sloping roof to enable us to get some fresh air. Finally, and again this was advertised as a pet friendly hotel. I personally do not think pets ever belong in areas serving food. So in conclusion, if you love dogs and are not very tall this is the hotel for you. Otherwise I’d find somewhere else to stay.
This was a lovely find, the staff were extremely helpful, the room was very clean and comfortable and a very good breakfast was provided. Thank you for a great stay.
The room was beautiful, I especially loved the huge bathtub in the room and the handwritten note welcoming us. Dinner and breakfast were great. I would definitely recommend and am planning to visit again
A great place, our favorite Hotel in the UK
A lovely place to stay, food was excellent and the staff were really on the ball. Our room was nicely furnished and the bed was really comfortable. As an addded bonus the breakfast was free. Would definitely stay here again.
Very pleasant stay overall
Cosy room, fan was provided in the room which was very handy in such a hot weather.
What a beautiful pub!!! We enjoyed a lovely stay and meal, the room had a fan and iron, staff were so friendly and the dining room and gardens were beautiful. Very clean and comfortable Already planning our next visit!!!
Great breakfast. One of the best oat milk porridge I’ve ever had. Breakfast is of quality restaurant level. The bedroom was furnished with everything you could want. Bespoke tea and coffee supplies, comfortable bed with choice of hard/soft pillows. Beautiful location.
A wonderful stay. Staff so friendly and helpful. Such a delightful room to have breakfast. Really enjoyed our short stay. Throughly recommendable.
Weekend away
Great stay for our wedding anniversary, lovely room/dinner/breakie, beautiful part of the country ☀️
Hotel conveniently placed for our visit to Minsmere. Staff pleasant and helpful. Room was small, expensive and the bathroom facilities were inadequate for our needs. Both of us in late seventies and eighties and slip mat not provided, no grab rail and shower fixed too low to make it user friendly.
Lovely, comfortable hotel with friendly and helpful staff. The only reason I cannot give a perfect score is that there was no cupboard in one of our rooms
Great country place.
Comfortable bed, low ceilings and room was a bit dark (small window dark decor). Great staff, great food. Lovely dining room.
NEW YEAR IN SUFFOLK
We booked our New Year stay some time ago because we had visited Westleton Crown before - we were not disappointed great location, excellent facilities and good food was complimented by a friendly, helpful staff - our dog loved the doggie sausage each morning - well done and thank you
Excellent all round 👍
Relaxing stay at the Westleton Crown
A really enjoyable stay in a very relaxing setting, with very good food and accommodation throughout our four day stay. All the staff were very helpful and the variety of the food choices and their quality made the entire stay a real hit!
High end price, high end quality
Excellent quality service, accommodation and food. Bit pricey, but still excellent value for money.
Had a lovely 2 night stay. Dinner was very good & the bar was very relaxing with a cosy sitting room.
Very friendly and helpful staff. I showered but noticed there was no bath plug in our bathroom.
Lovely location. Friendly staff especially Leo who was very helpful throughout our stay. The rooms are spacious and clean and beds were comfortable. I do think that this is a very expensive hotel and even the breakfast, although, very nice, was expensive and should have been included in the booking. Be aware of seevice charges and pre-book taxi's beforehand as they are hard to come by.
The lighting in my room was awful. You had to get out of bed to switch the bedside light off! The ceiling lights in the bathroom meant that you cast your shadow into the mirror when looking into it. So no good for putting on make-up. Everything else about the Westleton Crown was very pleasing. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Would stay again in a different room!
Lovely staff, Thank you Tom!! well appointed & great use of space in rooms. Food and beverage top notch!
Great stay but some gripes
Second stay and still very good - gripes - room and bathroom a little “tired” and why feel the need to go ahead and take payment in advance when I was there to pay my bill as was agreed when booking..?
Disappointing
We were put in one of the shed accomodations in the car park. Heating worked but no way to cool down the room apart from open the ground floor window which faced a skip. Cobwebs in the bathroom, stained desk, scratched sink, dead bugs. There is a hook on the door which we put our coats on, in the morning the door was dripping with condensation and the bottom coat was soaked. Cleaners tried to get in to the room twice at 9.15 - check out wasnt until 11am, they said they had been told we had already left. On check out I wasnt asked how my stay was, but did feedback the above and just got a "thank you for letting us know". Didn't have the wine we wanted. Double g&t is £15, after some price confusion we did get a refund, but I think they should let you know it is that much when asking if you would like a double. Overall just all a bit disapointing and wouldn't return.
Very enjoyable
Bedroom very small, dark and very hot even in cool weather. Super location for Minsmere and great walks
Bonios on the Bar !
The Westleton Crown is a very comfortable and friendly hotel. The big plus factor is they welcome dogs ! We took our 2 labs and the staff welcomed them as much as us. A lovely hand written card was left in our room along with 2 dog bowls. The breakfast is large enough to sustain a healthy appetite and even the dogs get offered a sausage.
Nice stay!
Great service, good food, nice room, great breakfast
Relaxing family stay
Amazing stay, the staff were very accommodating, especially with our toddler (!) and the food was delicious.
Not good value for money
Clean. I’d describe room decor as tired. No place in bathroom to store my toiletries. Stain on dressing table chair so had to cover it with a towel.
Nice room although rather dark inside with a roll top bath and comfy bed but no pillow protecters or wardrobe. Staff very friendly and welcoming, breakfast was delicious with a good choice. Lovely location.
Excellent service
Cosy rooms. Lovely restaurant with excellent food. Excellent staff. It was pretty busy but staff we’re working efficiently and well co-ordinated.
OK but not amazing
Nice enough but nothing special. A lot of rooms overlook car park and parking can be tricky. Fine for an overnight but wouldn't stay longer. Very dog friendly which can be helpful.
Enjoyable Stay
Very comfortable and friendly hotel
We had beautiful clean room.
Stayed in a standard double (photos attached). The room was fine and I can be fussy! The bed was comfortable and room was large enough for two nights and it was clean. Only annoying thing if staying any longer is no drawers to put clothes. Only a wardrobe. The dinner was delicious. We had cod and salmon and both were amazing as was the cheeseboard! The 2nd night my husband had a steak which he said was awful but my salad was again delicious. Breakfast a bit hit and Miss! I asked for lemon with my smoked salmon and got a slice to go in a gin and tonic and they said that’s the only lemon they had!!!!? Service was great and friendly and all tried their hardest to make our stay fabulous. All in all a fabulous place to eat and stay for a weekend. Really quick (12mins) to get to warberswick beach. We loved it and would definitely go back.
Excellent food. Service was slow but we think there may have been staff absences. Staff who were arriving were working really hard and were very friendly and helpful.
