Loved our stay. The beachfront room was worth every penny! The staff there were great too. Would definitely stay there aagin!

One of my Favorite

First time staying in that particular suite. I was amazing and kids loved it. Nothing like have a jacuzzi for the chilly nights. A heated pool for the kids to play and best to just walk out and have direct access to the beach for all was amazing.

Literally steps from the beach! We're already planning to come back in the next few month's during summer.

Hard to find check in desk and the bed frames stick out and you constantly run into them

Our stay was great. We had no issues. The mattress could be updated, but everything thing was good. Staff was great. I would go back.

What I like about this property is that it’s easy access to the boardwalk and Pacific Ocean. It has a beautiful swimming pool and hot tub. Which face the ocean from the hotel. One can go through a gate by the swimming pool down to the boardwalk and then down some more steps to the sand and the ocean. It’s a wonderful location if you want to be by the beach.

Check in was fine; staff were just doing their job and not much interaction except to tell us the rules of the property. Smiles limited. The room was outdated and musty smelling. The bed was comfortable. The view was amazing and made it worth our stay. The location was perfect!

A terrific spot right on the beach. Our oceanfront room had an unbeatable view of the beach. Service was excellent throughout our four night stay. Comfortable beds and nice pool/spa area as well. We will definitely return here for our next San Diego visit.

Great place

It is right on the beach and the parking lot always had open spaces. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Our room was clean and exactly as pictured. The pool area was busy, but we just went to the beach. We will be back!

My bf and I said here for New Year’s Eve amazing! I would say it just smelt like cigarettes in the hallway but other than that great place to stay, nice rooms with great views!

We enjoyed our stay, next time I’ll stay on the 3rd floor only because you can hear the person above you walking back and forth. The walls are thin. Besides that I would recommend this place to everyone. We had a fabulous time there. Parking was $40 a night which was worth the convenience since parking is difficult to find nearby.

Can’t wait to stay here again! All of the staff were very friendly and knowledgeable! Kudos to your team!

We love this hotel. The staff are always friendly. They use a text feature if you need anything and really go above and beyond. The heated pool a s jacuzzi were a hit for the kids. The pool area has access to the boardwalk and beach. There are a lot of restaurants within walking distance. Our favorite is The Mission.

The room was clean and good size, the sound of waves could be heard from the room, we love it. Parking in the hotel it’s comfortable but an expensive. The area have a lot of options to eat and the sidewalk is good to walk, running, bike… especially through the day, in the night the sidewalk have few lights, could be much better.

Our 4th time here. Always perfect! Staff is amazing. Rooms are clean and comfortable. You can walk to every thing you need.

An exceptional stay along Pacific Beach. We hope to be able to return to The Wayfarer in the future. Walkable to everything in Pacific Beach; restaurants, shopping, nightlife, beach/parks, etc. Great service and hospitality overall.

Nice time

Great location to walk to restaurants and bars, we also walked to Belmont Park from here. And right on the beach, can’t beat it. The front desk staff was really friendly and helpful. Overall great experience.

Great location

We were only here one night but it’s a great location, very clean and comfortable. The $40 parking per day would get pricey but it is a great location and you get what pay for. They were doing a lot of upkeep work on the property although none of it disrupted our stay. There was a scheduled power outage but I don’t know if it even happened as it was after we were asleep, however they did provide flashlights just in case. Great customer service.

The hotel is directly on the beach. There are many restaurants and shops within walking distance.

We loved it here. The staff were wonderful, the place clean and tidy. The room was spacious and trendy. The pool and hot tub were clean and nice too. Good restaurants within walking distance and beach conveniently located right outside the gate. One downfall was the parking. $40/day was a bit steep in our opinion.

Overall it was a nice peaceful stay, the only issues was the cleanliness. Our room had sink water with I don’t know what in it and overall it could’ve been cleaner or smelled a bit better. Beautiful area and nice amenities within hotel, staff nice too!

Really nice hotel right on the beach. Looks slightly questionable from the outside approach, but really nice/funky modern beach vibe once you go through the doors. Clean with a super comfy bed. We didn’t use the pool area, but it looked great. We had coffee on the balcony looking out onto the ocean and it was perfect.

The beds were very comfortable and the pillows the room was very clean the pool was super warm great for the kids but my favorite was probably the outdoor patio by the pool we will definitely be returning again

I've stayed here for over 20 years and it's in it's in the best care I've seen! Such a great location!

Great little hotel

I had a really fun time at the Wayfarer. We got a room facing the ocean and that was lovely. The service was incredible. The staff are truly lovely and try their best to accommodate guests. The area is great (not the best at night) and has lots of restaurants within walking distance. The beach is lovely. It was cold in Feb when we went so we didn't get to get in the water but it was still beautiful to walk along. The hotel itself is in good shape. There were very minor things, like the laundry machine not working properly (the staff found a solution), the room had a slight scent (I am also very sensitive to scents). The hotel is also a short drive to downtown San Diego where we went dancing and went out to eat and more. The thrift shopping was also amazing in Hill Crest. Overall, we had an amazing stay and will definitely be back. Thank you to everyone for a great stay.

It’s My Favorite Place to Stay

The Wayfarer is such a cute place to stay that’s on the beach. The staff are awesome as always, the hotel is clean and I always feel safe. The boardwalk is always clean and secure. It’s so close to eating options that you can walk to. The views are very beautiful.

The location is top-notch. The renovation of this hotel is delightful. Staff was amazing and very accommodating.

Wayfarer was right on the beach. They have a great pool and hot tub overlooking the ocean. The bed was comfortable.

We had a great experience. Even though the hotel is older it is very clean and the bed was really comfortable. The staff was really nice and friendly. The weather wasn’t warm enough for the pool, however it seemed really nice. We did relax there and watched the sunset.

We really enjoyed our stay. The place was clean and the hot tub was great. We rented surfboards from a shop really close by and surfed the beach break right in front of the hotel every morning. Great little taco stand near by and also got great poke a few steps away as well. For sure planning to come back! So relaxing!

Great location & staff. The facility is showing it’s age. Bathroom faucet only delivers warm yo hot water (?). Ice machine & elevator were out of service first day. Staff did fix these upon notice.

Perfect Surfing Getaway for Teenagers!

This is our second time staying at the Wayfarer location in San Diego. My son is currently taking surf lessons while we stay at the hotel. We are frequent visitors to the San Diego area and decided to stay here for the convenience of the surf lessons being located directly in front of the hotel. We have been pleasantly surprised and plan to stay here more frequently in the future as it continues to surprise us around each corner. This morning I sat on our ocean front balcony as dolphins played in the distance.

Have stayed at this site a few times. It is perfectly located on the beach for our needs.

Its ok but not wonderful

This is my second time staying at Wayfarer. Staff was great, missed my garbage. Resolved quickly. Was a small tear in carpet, notified facility to repair.

I love that property is on beach. We had a great ocean view room. Room was clean. Pillows were comfortable. Staff was great. I love that the lobby has food to purchase and coffee.

Door to room was broken. Maintenance couldn’t fix it. It would take a couple min to forcefully get the knob to turn everytime. Even for the maintenance gentleman. The toilet would not work and bubbled all night. We had to use the bathroom in the lobby! And the Tv didnt work. When we complained and wanted our money back. They said all they could do was offer a 50 dollar credit. Extremely disappointed and will never stay there again.

Our stay was amazing. It was perfect for a lowkey weekend in the winter. Located right off the beach while maintaining safety. Loved the jacuzzi and the pool was semi-warm, which made the evenings fun. Clean room and property. Secure parking. Walking distance to many eateries. Will definitely try it out again during the warmer season.

Everything was great

The Wayfarer is one of our favorite properties to stay at while in San Diego. It is in a prime location with great views. Staff are very nice and prompt. This is a regular place for my wife and me to stay when visiting, and we both highly recommend this place.

Wonderful updated room literally on the boardwalk, we had a full ocean view!!! Everything was absolutely perfect!! Will cone back in summer!!!

Love that this location is beach front and was very clean and quiet.
