gorgeous peaceful location ~ cabins very homey and comfortable and love the fireplace! friendly and welcoming staff....
This was my third stay, this time in a different cabin. As with the previous cabin I had, this was immaculate, with a fully stocked kitchen and everything I could need for a great weekend getaway.
Great fall getaway
Very clean cabin and grounds. We would like to stay during the summer months just to see all of what they have to offer. Very quite and peaceful
We had a great time...We had an issue with our cabin but the staff fixed it quickly and we were pleased with how fast. I just gave one mark lower because it was a rather large inconvenience for such a short trip. however we also realize unavoidable issue for the resort. The resort is absolutely gorgeous in the fall. A real hidden gem!
Cozy, comfy and beautiful view of the river and mountains. Definitely will be back!
Nice place away from the hustle and bustle
This was my kind of place. I loved that it was right by the river, that I could bring my dog, and that I was forced to cook myself dinner. (It's a long ways from anywhere to get food at 7pm) The fireplace was awesome, and they pre-built it, so all I had to do was light it and off it went. I loved how quiet it was, and the owners were fantastic in working with my schedule. This isn't the place for you if you're used to 5 star hotels. The bed was comfortable, but everything is older. It made it feel more homey to me, though some may not agree. You're expected to clean up after yourself and be respectful. The cost for what you get is incredible, so deal with it. Falling asleep to the last crackles of the fire and waking up to a flock of turkeys on the lawn and the sound of the river was exactly what I needed. I sincerely hope I can go back and stay longer next time.
Wonderful weekend
Was a very nice cabin. Was interesting to find an envelope attached to the office door with key and bill inside. Very trusting. Never did see any staff but probably due to being off season. Everything was very clean, neat and tidy. no internet service but view was amazing. The kitchen was well supplied with utensils. The bathroom had extra towels, blankets and pillows. Would love to visit in the summer and enjoy the experience without snow.
Peaceful and comfortable.
Great place to stay. Peaceful, restful and calming. Very much like staying at a ski resort but having the place to yourself. Love the cabin feel. Very clean and everything you need.
Excellent hideaway!
This place is amazing. The grounds are immaculate, the cabins are incredibly clean and comfortable, and the place is quiet and peaceful. I'm sure it's a different story in the summertime, but in the fall the Wayfarer is the perfect spot to enjoy the changing seasons and some solitude.
Beautiful cabin along side the creek
Beautiful cabin along side the creekThis was a very relaxing setting. Comfortable extremely clean rooms along side of Creek. Great customer service. We will definitely be back and will tell our friends
Already have my next stay booked!
This is a wonderful place, hiding out in the countryside and away from everything. I only stayed for one evening, arriving late and leaving relatively early, but I was very impressed with the condition of my studio. The cleanliness was remarkable, really -- it was definitely an older building, but it was immaculate. At the same time, very cozy and inviting. I'll be headed back in a few weeks for a longer stay, and am really looking forward to it!
Nice grounds and on the River Front
It was a nice quiet place, there were other patrons there and had I not walked around the nice grounds I would have not known anyone else was onsite. The grounds were nice and the rooms were clean.
Felt the cabin was very outdated/ from the 1970's. And the bed, especially the bedspread gave my girlfriend the creeps.
quiet location but Old Old Old smelly cabins
Old Old Old smelly cabins, 30s decor and smell. Staff was OK, not much they do for you anyways. No coffee or breakfast available in the morning had to go far out to get stuff. Cost was Ok not too expensive but it did not deserve more either.
Beautiful setting, quiet and comfortable cabin.
The resort grounds and surrounding area are just beautiful! The owners were very welcoming and friendly--and their pride of ownership shows in the great care they take of the cabins and grounds. The cabin was clean and comfortable, literally like a home away from home. The kitchen was fully furnished, complete with a toaster and all the utensils a family might need to cook and clean up. Our cabin had a dishwasher, clothes washer, and dryer--all of which came in quite handy. Resort management informed us that housekeeping staff only came around every other day, so housekeeping services were rather sparse. Guests are expected to make their own beds, clean up after meals, and take out their own trash and recyclables during their stay, much as one might do in their own home. We had a local friend stop by and stay the night unexpectedly and hotel staff were quite accommodating--in fact, there was an extra rollaway bed already made up in the cabin closet. The resort setting is absolutely FABULOUS! The grounds are expansive and well kept. Flowers, grass, and nature abound--with wild turkeys, squirrels, birds, and bees everywhere. The resort is at a perfect spot on the river, where the water flows quietly and lazily by. You can hear white water off in the distance, but the rocky beach is a perfect place to sit in the sun and read a book--or play in the (really, REALLY cold water) if you're brave! All in all, we fell in love with the place. We'll definitely be back! :)
The Wayfarer Resort
Excellent!
Beautiful landscaped property!
Beautiful property. Warm cozy spacious cabin with wood stove! Flatscreen was too small. Uncomfortable dining chairs. Bed could use a "topping." I would like to have accessible coffee in the morning. We will go back to take advantage of the river accomodations.
Loved it!
Highly recommend this place and am looking forward to coming back soon. Loved hearing the creek behind our cabin.
Was very clean comfortable place ! Would love to come again with all my little ones !

Beautiful and unique setting within a short little walk to the McKenzie River. Our Cabin was next to the little creek that flows into the River about 100 yards up. Booked Nov, 30-Dec, 2nd.
