We liked the warm welcome we received. The breakfast had an excellent choice. We were directed to an easy safe walk to the next village for dinner choices in the evening.

Lovely Waltzing Weasel

Amazing location. Very comfy, spotless and had all the little extras. Carol the owner was so lovely and down to earth. Views from our room if Kinder Scout and Lantern Pike were breathtaking. Breakfast was delicious. We ordered a packed lunch for yesterday. There was enough in there to keep us fully stocked up all day. Really good value for money. We would definitely recommend and will return.

Cold

Booked this place thinking it would be a cosy pub with rooms. Turned out it was a cold b&b. Room freezing and a bit old fashioned. Breakfast was good.

Lovely comfortable place to stay, set in wonderful surroundings, ideal for walking and exploring. Warm welcome on arrival and great views from room 5. Breakfast is amazing and plentiful. Will certainly not hesitate to return in the future.

This B&B is a great location for exploring the Peak District with an outstanding view of Kinder Scout. Beautifully appointed room and spotlessly clean. Fantastic breakfast and wonderfully friendly and accommodating host.

Lovely bed and breakfast. Carol and staff were very friendly. Easy access to kinder scout, great place to stay for walking and some lovely pubs nearby too. Hope to come back one day.

We were welcomed by Sue who was so lovely. Beautiful comfortable room with amazing views. Breakfast was really good , the small cooked breakfast was huge. Overall a lovely place to stay.

Lovely room, amazing breakfast and great facilities. The owners have mastered the balance between being friendly and being non-intrusive, giving you the feeling of both being welcomed along with that of privacy. The perfect location for walking the stunning surroundings.

Stayed 1 night, Saturday to Sunday in October 2023. Very nice accomodation with plenty of parking, also great it is walking distance to the local town with a few good pubs and restaurants to choose from. We ate at Colosseo and had a few drinks at the Kinder, which were both great. The breakfast was very tasty and large which it helped fuel the walk around kinder reservoir the next day.

Lovely B&B in a great location

We've just stayed here for the weekend and it was lovely. Carol was very welcoming and helpful and our room was well presented, very clean and had an amazing view (see pic). We both chose a full English for breakfast and were pleased to see it came with fried bread! Again, Carol looked after us very well. We walked into Hayfield on Saturday evening, which is a quaint little village. It took us 8-10 minutes, along the Sett trail which is maybe 1-2 minute walk from the B&B- so mostly off road. Then on Sunday we walked eight miles- a lovely hilly route around Kinder reservoir (easy routes available too). We would definitely go back, stay here again, and do some more exploring of the local area.

What great place! Carol, the owner, was very welcoming and served a good English breakfast. Lots of fresh milk available at all times and a well-stocked tea tray in the rooms. Can't recommend highly enough and will certainly be back for a few days break later in the year. Thank you Carol!

Excellent stay

Carol was the perfect host, friendly, fun, knowledgeable and engaging. The property had old world charm and the room was a good size with a comfortable bed and all that we could need for our two night stay.

Lovely stay and suoerb breakfast

Had a lovely night's stay here whilst over to walk the Kinder Scout circular. Really lovely room, clean and very comfortable. Breakfast was fabulous, lots of choice super tasty (we had cereal, cooked breakfast, juice, tea/coffee and toast) and warm friendly hosts. It is a lovely old building and there is a notice in the bathroom that the hot water takes quite a while to come through, which is fine, the water pressure could do with being higher as was very weak. Overall superb stay and friendly, warm hosts and great location for access to Mam Tor and Kinder Scout (with car).

We had a lovely stay at the Walzing Weasel. The room was lovely and Carol the owner was very friendly. The breakfast was amazing and the view from the breakfast room was beautiful. We have been looking for somewhere to stay that is close to our son and his family and we were delighted with this place and will certainly be returning on a regular basis.

Thank you for having us over the weekend. It is family run B&B. Great atmosphere, very welcome and inviting. Lovely bright room, great breakfast. The only inconvenience was a low water pressure in the shower but there is a bath that can be used. Highly recommended and we will definitely go back

What a fabulous place to stay! The location is quite idyllic with wonderful views. The greeting we had on arrival was warm, friendly and helpful. The room was clean, warm and comfortable, with a good supply of tea and coffee etc. Then came the breakfast, fantastic, perfectly cooked and tasty. We had the small, which was more than enough to keep us going for most of the day. However they also do a larger version for those with sufficient appetite. I can highly recommend this place, we will certainly be back

It’s the 2nd time we’ve stayed,carol the host is brilliant she can’t do enough for anyone and you’ll never get a better breakfast.we’ll definitely be going back many times.

A wonderful warm welcome from Carole on arrival. Excellent breakfast and a lovely seating area outside with views of Kinder Scout. All the staff we met were so friendly and down to earth. Nothing seemed too much trouble. Would recommend this B & B to anyone wanting a friendly place to stay.

Perfection.

We absolutely loved our stay at the Waltzing Weasel. We stayed for just 1 night on Friday 21 May in Room 2 as we were visiting a relative in nearby New Mills the next day. Ample on site parking and absolutely lovely views from the room window. The binoculars were a lovely touch! The welcome was warm and genuine and that was very welcome after a 6 hour drive! Everywhere was spotlessly clean and the breakfast was perfect! Usually in these reviews you include things that could be improved. In this case Carol has nothing to do to improve. We will absolutely be coming back. Thank you Carol!

Ideal for walkers

Good value, good breakfast and comfortable bed. Only small gripe is that the shower head needed fixing and and had low pressure. Overall would recommend as a great place for walkers and great restaurants 15 minutes walk away.

Great place

Only stayed for night but the breakfast was great and the staff was friendly. Beautiful views and perfect access to the peak district. We even left something there and they were kind enough to mail it back. Would definitely recommend and stay there again.

Not a Bar in sight

Was not aware it was a Bed and Breakfast - I had to drive 2 miles to find somewhere to eat With the name it has - it misleads you to thinking it has a bar

Just brilliant

Lovely B&B with stunning views out towards Kinder Scout (birthplace of British National Parks for overseas readers). The hotel is spotlessly clean. Carol and her team provide excellent service even to the idiots who come down to breakfast with 3 minutes to spare (sorry again!). The breakfast is stunning and the rooms are excellent. If I could have taken the mattress home with me I would - I genuinely had the best night's sleep I've had in months. An absolute delight.

Lovely find

a lovely little find this B and B with a very helpful and friendly owner for whom nothing was too much trouble. Stunning views from dining room. Great location for a quick walk down the Sett line into Hayfield village with several good pubs. We ate at The George and couldn't fault its tasty, straightforward grub. Definitely recommend

Great bed and breakfast stay.

The hotel was lovely, the garden very scenic, the room was wonderful, spacious, with a very large bathroom, the wardrobe was bigger than the bathroom at the last hotel we stayed at! The bed was pretty hard though, but that was the only downside. Very close to Buxton, close to villages for evening meals and pubs. Plenty towels, toiletries, coffee and tea, milk in the fridge outside the bedroom, the breakfast was lovely, plenty of choice, nice sausage, bacon, eggs, fried bread, mushrooms, tomatoes, beans, as much toast as you wanted, preserves, cream for the coffees. It was the best hotel we stayed in during two weeks of touring hotels around England. The Hilton in York could learn a lesson!
