yes, what a view

fantastic views as promised and great service. very quiet around the pool in the day if you want a down day. food good. 8km dirt road to get there is not for everyone but great fun if you’re happy driving bendy dirt roads. recommended

Wonderful view and hospitality

We had an amazing time staying at The View. The property certainly lives up to its name, we loved watching the sun Rise and set as book ends to our adventures in the area whilst using the property as an extremely comfortable base camp! Hospitality was first rate with all staff being very helpful and working to ensure we had a great time.

Great experience. Bring something warm to sleep in if you're visiting in the winter, it gets cold at night.

Breathtaking location. Great staff! Nice rooms! Lovely pool and restaurant. But the best are the location and the views. Be prepared: you need a 4WD to get to the property, they also pick you from Al Hamra though against a high fee. Try to be there before sunset and get up for the sunrise, it’s worth it!

Very unique mountain location with splendid views of surrounding mountains. Nice rooms with balconies. Excellent breakfast and dinner included in price. Fast check in and out. Pleasant and accommodating staff.

Paradise on the hill!

Loved our trip to The View! The pods are so unique, lots of privacy and a great view from every unit! The road wasn't as bad as I thought at all, so had no trouble in our AWD Kia Sportage. The pool was beautiful, and staff so friendly.

Hotel has really good view. Rooms need to painted again, pillows and duvet cover were not cleaned

Fabulous setting and beautiful views from the room and pool. Staff were absolutely brilliant - all friendly and helpful and did everything to make my stay comfortable even with social distancing. There are some good hikes close to the hotel if you don't want to drive back down the rough road (although it wasn't as bad as I'd feared). On the down-side, wifi is only available in limited areas, the pool looked like it was due a clean and there are a few little bits of maintenance that make it slightly tired looking such as missing or broken lights on the walkways. At this price, these are things that should be fixed.

Great experience!

It was a great experience! One of the very unique hotels I have ever stayed in. It would be great if you could extend the check out and heat the pool.

Beautiful spot and unique place. Staff, particularly in restaurant, were really great during our stay.

We loved everything about The View from the room in a “pod” perched on the edge of a rugged hill to the lovely food and the courteous and helpful staff. The room had floor to ceiling glass across the whole width so you could sit in the bath and look out down the valley and the balcony has a comfy lounger and table and two chairs. As it was Ramadan we had breakfast delivered to our room and going to dinner walked through a lovely, fragrant garden. The chef managed a good blend of western and Omani food. The infinity pool looking out over the valley was excellentThe only drawback was that WiFi was not available in the rooms but the reception dining room and terrace were very comfortable alternatives. Great for couples - v romantic - but not really suitable for children. And of course it is expensive and you do need a 4wd to get there and some nerve. But actually the 7k off road wasn’t too bad just don’t do it in the dark,

Lovely but overpriced

A very comfortable place that is primarily (not surprisingly) about the view. We had the evening meal that was excellent and very good value for the 5+ courses. It was unfortunate for us that the meals were spoiled by two families that seemed to take over the whole atmosphere in the restaurant from the moment that they arrived leaving a number of guests clearly annoyed. The place is clearly trying to reach the top end of the market as the prices indicate and they have been let down in this instance by these families. No wifi available in the rooms which is unacceptable for a luxury place to stay. A lovely place to stay but the prices cannot be justified.

Great view at The View

The pool is amazing and I loved the “hanging” pod rooms, it really felt like we were on the edge of a cliff! Buffet Dinner and breakfast was great too, it had a lovely mix of middle eastern and western style foods.

Nice hotel with beautiful view. You have to drive up 7 km up hill on a dirt road. Doable in a regular sedan, but 4x4 is recommended. Dinner was really good, breakfast is OK.

Appropriately named

Easy acces, yiu May want a 4*4 but a saloon cat will make it up easily as well. Unfortunately no gym at the facility, but get you out for a hike. The view is worth taking in!

Noisy Children

Too many families with noisy children in pool all day. Needs to have a separate pool for children. Spoiled the weekend break as not peaceful.

A really different hotel, every room is a standalone unit with stunning view!

Location, but misses the mark

Hotel has great potential, but isn't up to a 4 star rating. Little things like no shampoo (upon request only). Was surprised at how many children and partiers were at hotel which really destroyed what could have been a tranquil setting. Rooms needs a bit of TLC but have great potential. The views are wonderful but the experience was not great.

Als erstes (hat nichts mit der Unterkunft zu tun): viele Deutsche und beinahe alle unangemessen angezogen (Hotpants, Shorts) - ihr Lest so viele Rezensionen, bitte Lest auch einfach Mal Reiseblogs über das Land, das ihr bereits. Definitiv nicht ohne Allrad erreichbar, insb. Sobald es ein wenig regnet. Ausblick überragend. Zimmer schlicht (4 Sterne bei uns eher nicht, der Ausblick entschädigt). Service überwältigend, insb. Francis und sein Team im Restaurant. Allerdings schlechte Auswahl für Vegetarier, sogar das gleiche Essen an zwei Abenden (Francis hat sich dann ins Zeug gelegt und uns eine Alternative gezaubert). Trotzdem ist das Abendessen mit 12 Rial pro Person (ohne Getränke, circa 28€) für die Qualität viel zu teuer. Und leider Baustellenarbeiten (Nachteil der Zwischensaison - in der Hauptsaison wird es aber sicher Recht kalt und insb der Pool (Highlight!!) wird dann zu kalt zum schwimmen sein. Was einen zudem bewusst sein muss: fast 2h zum Snakecanyon, 1,5h zum Jebel Shams und jedes Mal die Piste wieder hoch und runter. Gibt sicher bessere Orte als Ausflugsziel, aber wir würden für den Blick und die Abende auf der Terrasse wiederkommen, uns jedoch etwas mehr Essen mitbringen ;)

Peaceful and so Beautiful place. The view is amazing. The staff is so friendly and helpfull.

Sehr schön gelegen und guter Service Anreise per Abholung war gut organisiert und pünktlich. Eigene Anreise wäre aber auch mit SUV ohne AWD möglich gewesen, solange die Schotterpiste trocken ist.

Hôtel avec une vue à couper le souffle. Ambiance calme et sereine. Chambre propre avec tout ce dont on a besoin et le service est au top! Je recommande vivement

Lage, Freundlichkeit, Essen alles tipptopp. Einrichtung ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen.

L'endroit porte bien son nom. La vue y est magnifique. Il serait pertinent de mentionner que l'accès à l'hôtel se fait uniquement par un chemin praticable en 4X4. Cela n'a pas été un problème pour nous mais nous avons été témoins de gens ayant loué une berline et incapable de se rendre à l'hôtel. Ceci dit il s'agit d'un bel hébergement avec un bon rapport qualité prix. L'offre de nourriture (petit déjeuner et dîner) est très bien. Le personnel est courtois (comme partout à Oman) et très professionnel.

Emplacement magique. Une vue incroyable et le calme absolu.

Sehr schöne Aussicht, ruhiger Ort, freundliches Personal. Zimmer sehr in die Jahre gekommen, Schimmel in der Ecke vorhanden. Essen gab es jeden Tag die gleichen Menüs zur Auswahl.

Hoch am Berg gelegen hat man bei klarer Sicht einen tollen Ausblick. Schöne und gepflegte Anlage.

Calme, vue, confort

Superbe endroit, très agréable après une journée de randonnée. On y traîne quelques heures pour profiter du calme du lieu avant de repartir poursuivre la découverte d'Oman.

Amazing view Good food

Great service and amazing view !

We had a great time in this hotel. The service is really great (Thanks Francis!). Wonderful work of the valley. Only downside is the swimming pool who wasn’t warmed. Beware our reservation said that diner was included but it’s not the case. Diner buffet is 10-RO and you can’t really get to al Hamra in nighttime.

Hotel an spektakulärer Lage

Wir waren bereits zum zweiten Mal im The View. Das Hotel ist spektakulär gelegen, auch wenn die Anfahrt etwas abenteuerlich ist. Die Zimmer sind zweckmässig und die Aussicht ist einfach grossartig. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und kümmert sich um die Gäste. Wenn man in dieser Gegend ist, muss man versuchen, mind. eine Nacht in diesem Hotel verbringen zu können.

Die tolle Aussicht, der schöne Pool, die sehr hilfsbereiten und freundlichen Mitarbeiter! Die Abholung in Al Hamra hat super geklappt, wir waren begeistert.
