Fantastic, would definitely stay again 😀
The property was located in an area we really liked with lots of places to go to including bars restaurants etc. However what we weren't aware of was the building was being refurbished and after the first night we had to move to the sister hotel in a completely different area. The transfer was handled very professionally however we were not as impressed with other hotel location.
City Break in Copenhagen
Wonderful hotel in a safe area, friendly helpful staff. Eco friendly clean rooms superb lobby, quality breakfast with an excellent variety of quality products. Nice relaxing lounge. Wonderful vibe about the place. Metro nearby as are many museums. Wonderful stay.
New Year’s Eve in Copenhagen. Very lively and noisy with fireworks. If you want to watch ask for a view onto the square. If you want to sleep at all that night ask for a room as far away as possible. Recommend upgrading to a room that has access to the lounge. Great for Prosecco and red wine and snacks. We had a lovely time.
Excellent location
Fantastic room, clean with comfy beds. Excellent location 5 mins from Central Station and across the road to the metro. Would definitely stay here again.
Noce clean hotel in a great location.
The location was so beautiful
Researched where to stay in Copenhagen over New Year, this hotel was recommended and it didn't disappoint! Wonderful stay overall. Reception and all staff helpful and pleasant. Hotel undergoing changes, so had a few niggles to sort but this was all sorted quickly by email on our return. Would definitely recommend this hotel. Ideally located in a lovely city.
A day prior to my scheduled check-in, I received a call from the hotel informing me that they were undertaking room renovations and would need to relocate me to one of their affiliate hotels. I was extremely dissatisfied, feeling misled by the hotel. It appears that they intentionally sold my room despite knowing the hotel was under renovation, employing a strategy to obtain payment from guests who had chosen to stay at the Square Hotel, only to subsequently transfer them to other hotels. The alternative hotel I was offered was located far from my preferred location. I firmly believe that Expedia should initiate an investigation into this hotel's practices. Upon reviewing their online listings, I noticed that they continue to advertise the Square Hotel as available, which I consider to be inaccurate and misleading.
Nice stay while in Copenhagen
Great hotel friendly staff; near the Tivoli gardens near the train station very convenient for all the sights and plenty of restaurants close by would definitely stay there again.
Friendly, helpful, well located, lovely lounge area, very clean, great breakfasts.
We had an excellent stay at The Square and would recommend this property to anyone. It is clean, convenient, and safe with a helpful staff and hood overall vibe.8 The Expedia VIP amenity for aThe Square made me very happy the i am an Expedia member. It made our time in copenhagen much, much more enjoyable.
Pros: The hotel has an excellent location, making it easy to explore the surrounding area. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. The room was clean and ready for us as soon as we arrived, even though we checked in earlier than expected, which was a nice surprise. Cons: Unfortunately, breakfast was disappointing and didn’t meet our expectations. The room was extremely hot, making it hard to get comfortable. Additionally, there was a leak in the sink that we reported, but it was never addressed during our stay, which was frustrating. Overall: While the location and staff were great, the issues with the room and breakfast made the experience less enjoyable than it could have been.
Great location - central for sightseeing and really friendly, welcoming and helpful staff. VIP benefits were excellent - couldn’t fault it and would stay here again.
Excellent facilities and very quiet. Easy to find when getting the metro from the airport.
Excellent location. Friendly staff.
Christmas in Copenhagen
Wonderful stay in brilliant location
Great stay.
All nighter
It was horrible, they have room right above an Irish pub which stays open all night. I was up with yelling fighting and singing until 4 and then had to go to work at 7.
Very helpful staff
Very noisy property
Great location, near to all the spot you want to go. Definitely walkable. A little noisy at night only. Great breakfast too
Very good hotel
The hotel was in a really good location, was very quiet and the staff were friendly and helpful. Just plan a little longer when taking a shower due to the low water pressure. Overall very happy and would definitely consider it again if coming to Copenhagen.
super cool😎
Hotel was nice and the room wad fine but there was building work being carried out in the area directly outside our hotel room. While i understand that maintenance will happen routinely in a hotel, having drilling and other noises near my hotel room from 9am without the hotel having the common decency to gove me advance warningz was extremely poor.
Nice
Location
O.K but not as good as it used to be.
Overall our visit was O.k, Hotel was not full but iur room was facing inwards and there was a lot of construction ongoing so noisy at 7am so not good. We have stayed at The Square for many years and have seen a steady decline in service and Breakfast offerings, these need to improve as we are considering an alternative on our next visit.
Staff in the front desk and cleaning staff are amazing.
The hotel was comfortable although we weren’t told about housekeeping issues when we booked in so we were left with no clean towels, no room clean and because of this our rubbish built up. Other that that a lovely stay.
The Square
Stayed here many times before, close to the Station, Metro, Tivoli Gardens a shopping area
Excellent staff and very efficient, ideally situated for Tivoli Gardens and train station
The Square is very reasonably priced for such a nice hotel. The rooms were excellent and the staff friendly and helpful. Best of all it was very central and surrounded by amenities and public transport. Really happy with my stay and would definitely stay there again.
Very well located. A minute to Tivoli and the near the train station. Area is busseling
Very clean. Just too much noise at night coming from the local bars. Other than that the place and staff were excellent.
Comfortable beds and room. Check in was smooth and staff were very welcoming. Would stay there again! Great to be so close to Tivoli and the metro station.
Very central. Close to shopping area and Tivoli gardens. High recommend staying here.
Perfect location . Lounge on 6th floor was amazing !
Super conveniant location. Can’t sleep with open windows at night due to street noise. But facility and rooms are all nice. Bathtub and shower are tricky to get in and out of. A handle would benefit people getting in and out of as there is a bit of a step down from the tub and the tub is quite narrow.
Great hotel. Loca
This hotel is located a few steps away from tivoli gardens and at a walkable distance from the main attractions. The staff is good and polite and rooms are basic but fine. One major downside is the noise you can expect if your room is on the main road. It happened to me and i had to ask for a different room as i could not get any sleep. Although it is marketed as a 4 star hotel i think 3 stars would be a more realistic rate. Would I recommend it? Provided you can get a room not on the main road i wouldd say this choice is fine.
Very good hotel
Good hotel. In the city centre close to museums and restaurants.
Location so easy from airport. Easy to access all attractions. Beautiful hotel clean ,friendly and beautiful decor
Lovely stay
Lovely stay
Fab hotel
Really lovely hotel. Staff were great. Breakfast was amazing! Room very clean. Only downside was noise from the road but it wasn't too much and didn't bother us but if you like it completely silent then may not be for you. I would def go back there if we were to visit Copenhagen again.
Great location right next to Tivoli. Room came with lounge access which was a nice perk. Room was small but fit our need.
it was okay
This hotel is in a great location in the city centre. Perfect for walking or for grabbing a bike to wander through the city. The only challenge was the various staff members that knocked on my door, especially the last day. Fortunately, they clean the room when requested but with the mini bar they come through daily. My last day the maintenance person knocked on my door. I think the front desk should have contacted me that they would need to do a repair, that apparently was already fixed. The bonus was receiving access to their lounge daily for complimentary drinks and food! Thanks
Very close to Metro, Tivoli garden, attractions and shopping/restaurants. Some construction in elevator and just outside the hotel.
Bang central to most things
Great location and hotel, would Deffinatly stop again
The Square is in a prime location for discovering and enjoying Copenhagen. The staff, rooms and facilities are excellent and the service is of the highest standard. Thank you for making our first visit to Copenhagen so enjoyable and memorable.
Very ggod hotel at city center.
We stayed three nights first, made a three day trip to Helsinki, and came back for . two more nights. Enjoyed the stay. Very comfortable. Good breakfast buffet. Convenient location, but we couldn’t find many restaurants we liked nearby though there were many pubs.
Location
Location was convenient.
Go to hotel in Copenhagen
My go to in Copenhagen. Nice hotel well located. Very comfortable
excellent location
Good hotel with great location
The hotel was clean, very well located. The cleaning of the room must be ordered beforehand. One of the days our room was not cleaned even though we asked for it. Otherwise, no complaints.
Lovely with problems
Lovely hotel with problems. Bathroom tub shower was dangerous for slip and fall. Good location, spacious, nice beds. Staff was excellent and helpful.
It is close to everything. Big bang for the money. I would recommend to my friends and family. Breakfast is great and the executive package is great as well.
The view from the front window.
Close to metro and Tivoli garden
Its the perfect spot for a weekend. So close to metro station, do a great base for exploring Copenhagen. Was worried about whether it was going to be noisy but it wasnt at all. W Would definately stay here again.
Landed after a long flight from AU. Staff was accomodating and for a small yogrqde fee was able to check in early and have a larger room. Great location and clean
Did not received VIP amenities or room upgrade.
A return visit to The Square and for good reasons. Could not be more centrally and conveniently located for shopping, sightseeing, or transportation. The rooms are comfortable and clean and the staff is friendly and helpful.
Nice place to stay. Clive to the city center and Tivoli Gardens.
I spent two nights in the square hotel ., it’s a modern well kept establishment. My room was small but sufficient for 1 person ., bed was very comfortable with quality bedding .. spotlessly clean. WiFi was excellent very strong . Bathroom was small but again sufficient for 1 person .. shower was a wet room with strong hot water .. there was a fridge in room perfect for water cooling . Breakfast was decent with enough hot And cold choices . The fresh breads were scrumptious and fresh .. and the ginger shots woah certainly refreshing . Overall I would highly recommend this hotel with its close location to metro 200 metres across the road And its locality with plenty of shopping, bars and restaurants 👍🇩🇰
Wonderful cozy and quiet room. Access to the top floor lounge was excellent.
Hotel is just a few minutes walk from the Tivoli Gardens and central station. Lots of places to eat nearby. Room was nice with everything we needed. Rooms are only cleaned if you request it the day before.
Staff was friendly and welcoming! The room was just what we needed - loved our terrace and it wasn't noisy in spite of being in the center of one of the best parts to stay in the city. Would definitely stay again!
Did not like the drilling at 7am in the morning.
Great service and wonderful location. Although the rooms are small they are clean with shower amenities, towels and good bed sheets.
Great hotel in the Copenhagen center. Walkable distance to museums and other attractions. It was nice and clean.
Fab location
Nice and clean. Ideal spot in the town
Excellent location, very clean, staff super friendly and helpful. Loved the breakfast.
Great location. Decent rooms. No AC from what I can tell.
Perfect location near shopping area, central station. Cleaning on demand worked perfect, also in weekend. Quiet despite construction works nearby
Great location, clean nice room. Very close and walkable to dining, attractions, hop on hop off tour stop and sign up.
Excellent hotel, great location. Staff were great and the hotel was very clean. Cant wait to come back.
Stylish and incredibly well situated. The staff is super efficient and welcoming.
Everything is generally good… this is our second stay within one week. We were put into a bigger room which is much more spacious than the last one we stayed over a week ago. Some areas for improvements: 1) bathtub is very narrow at the bottom and could be very slippery and easy to fall when climbing in and out… better to replace with shower stall option. 2) The shower head has mold fungi and should have cleaned regularly using vinegar to remove the yellowish color at the water holes is the shower head.
The air conditioning does not work at this hotel. I paid in advance for a week stay here. The first night was about 100 degrees (38 c) in the room. I asked for a room change and they offered me a fan and said the whole hotel A/C was down. The front desk staff offered me a $50 credit but on checkout there was no credit. I did stay in this hotel in 2005 and it was nice, now it’s just run down and not maintained. Pay the extra couple dollars for a first rate hotel which this is not and don’t prepay!
Wonderful stay. Friendly and welcoming reception. Close from the train station.
Great hotel for exploring the coty
Square hotel is what you are looking for, either for a night or for more days. We had a long layover (19 hours) on our intercontinental flight and decided to spend the night in Copenhagen. We stayed (2 adults, 2 children) in a family room for one night. We managed to walk the Tivoli gardens in the evening the day of arrival to Copenhagrn. In the morning, on the day of our outbound flight we went on one hour sightseeing cruise. After the cruise we walked back to hotel (30-ish minute walk from the docks) and literally had a mini vacation along the good night sleep. Transportation by metro is super simple and easy to navigate. It is really unnecessary to use taxi services and overpay, even if you have never used metro before. Brave it, you will see for yourself. Hotel is very clean, staff very polite and always at service. Walls and glass are thick, and noise insulation was perfect. We had not one objection.
Decent hotel located near the train station and Tivoli. Pros: convenient location, clean rooms, made up the sofa bed up for our son, relatively quiet room for being in a busy area, beds were small but comfortable Cons: sink clogged upon arrival, room key didn’t work (both issues fixed right away), room very small & cramped, streets outside very dirty. One elevator broken. Breakfast prices were exorbitant. A very middle of the road hotel.
Very convenient hotel. Right in the middle of everything. Trendy and good sized rooms. Comfy beds but would like an extra pillow next time. We were facing the street so had additional noise / light.
Noisy when events
I was happy with check in. They let me check in early. Once in the room it was super load. There were events at the square. I expressed concerns and they said it’s not that loud. I asked for a different room. It took 3 people and finally I got a quieter room .The chair in my room needed to be reupholstered. The hotel is in a great location. Close to train station.
The hotel is very nice. Everything was very pleasant.
The Square Hotel is in the City Center. It is 5 minutes walk to Tivoli Garden. There are so many restaurants around the area. The Seven Eleven store is open 24 hours and it is just next door of the Square Hotel. The place is clean. The Hotel has great breakfast. I woukd recommend this Hotel.
Great hotel in a fantastic location. Very easy to walk to everything. Lots of restaurants very close by and Tivoli Gardens is around the corner. Also, only a ten minute walk to the main train station.
Fantastic location, staff service lovely and the bikes for hire of an exceptional quality.
I don’t typically review properties but this hotel was the single bad part about my otherwise wonderful Copenhagen trip. Firstly, this is definitely not a 4 star hotel, so if that is what you are expecting, I suggest you lower your standards. I found all of the people I came across in Copenhagen friendly and polite, apart from the staff at the square. There was a concert across the street for pride which was great to see, but the sound proofing in this hotel was so poor that even with white noise and earplugs, the noise level still shook the room. When I spoke to the desk staff, they gave a “this is city centre, what did you expect” type of response. I’ve stayed in central hotels all over the world, from central Tokyo to Times Square New York, and have never experienced such poor sound proofing. Reading other reviews, I can see this is a frequent complaint. Additionally, I enquired if I could check out just 1 hour later, to which the front desk agreed for a fee of 100kr. As I was attempting to nap due to getting poor sleep due to the noise, I had housekeeping just walk in my room THREE separate times between 11:50 and 12:30. They didn’t so much as knock. At this point I gave up, checked out, and headed to the airport early. Copenhagen is a wonderful city, with kind and friendly people. I’d really recommend visiting, while also ensuring you stay elsewhere
Extremely convenient location. Metro is literally a traffic light away. Friendly staff!!

In general the hotel is okay. The worst parts are: 1) pillows are in poor quality … flat out when laid on. 2) bathroom is a mess… the bathtub bottom is narrowly curved and may cause slippery very easily, while the half size glass partition could not stop the water from splashing out onto the bathroom floor during shower, and the shower head is stinky and mouldy with yellowish dirt on each of shower head holes.
Great location, professional service and very clean.
Service good and the staff great
A good location! The hotel’s amenities include a kettle, tea and assorted beverages to purchase. I brought instant coffee(from home) and purchased rolls at 7-11 next door; opted to not have their breakfast and to have it at a cafe. The hotel is located close to Tivoli Gardens, train station and Stroget (walk street). Nyhavn is easily assessable from Stroget too. Be sure to take the canal cruise.

Surprise!
We arrived to The Square to find out that the hotel was closed for renovation. It was very difficult to find the reception especially since it was late and the entire hotel was dark. Luckily the young lady at the 7-11 helped us out. Fortunately the Square had made alternate arrangements at the Phoenix Hotel. The Phoenix hotel staff were very accommodating, we had a clean and comfortable room. We were also given a bottle of Champaign for the inconvenience. The Phoenix was close to many attractions and places to eat. It was also close to the bus and metro lines. What appeared to be a start to a terrible vacation turned into a nice surprise. Thank you to The Square.
