I stayed in the ritz Carlton the room was excellent of all the many hotels I have stayed in this is definitely in my top 3. Very clean room excellent view from the room . Has everything you could ever need . Coco is the most pleasant hotel staff member I have ever met and gives A star service . All hotel staff speak excellent English . A was also extremely helpful when checking out and went above and beyond . velian on check in was great and the lady from Kazakhstan also very helpful. For service , Luxury and comfort in Shanghai you have to stay here . Thank you ritz Carlton . Also check out flair bar and the pool

Wonderful

Our stay at The Ritz-Carlton, Shanghai was nothing short of spectacular. From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond to ensure our comfort - warm, attentive, and always ready to assist. Sara, in particular, was incredibly accommodating. We had a room which took our breath away - floor-to-ceiling windows framing the iconic Oriental Pearl Tower, with the glittering skyline of Shanghai stretching out before us at night. Mornings were just as wonderful, with a sumptuous breakfast spread overlooking the Bund. The pool also had wonderful view but you will need a swimming hat to use it. The rooftop bar had amazing views but there’s a minimum spend. The location is also great. You can get to the Bund in around 15 minutes by Didi or taxi. There’s a metro station about 5 minutes away. Overall, every detail of our stay felt special, making it an unforgettable experience. We look forward to staying again next time we’re in Shanghai.

3 days back in Pudong

WOW WOW WOW What an Amazing Sevice, everything else is as a high end 5 star hotel should have, but we have never experienced the service we received at this hotel, honestly the service should get 10 stars - Rosy took so good care of us, absolute amazing. The hotel is located together with the ifc mall (best in Shanghai), and right next to the 3 tall buildings.

in room carpet is dirty. carpet on the walkway is also dirty. AC is not cool at all, so they move us to another room. we arrived on time and we communicated with them a while ago about our arrival time. but we still have to wait for 3 hours until our room is ready after 6pm. the overwhole equipments are terrible .

Great accommodation from beginning to end. There was a line during check-in and the hotel staff brought me to another level to check in so I didn't have to wait. The rooms were spacious and maintained twice a day by the housekeepers. Overall it was a pleasant experience.

Buffet breakfast has great fruit.

The staff is so so helpful and deserve heaps of praise. My husband fell sick and they helped me find a pharmacy and an international hospital. The gentleman at the desk walked me to the pharmacy and translated for me. The guest service folks helped me find an international hospital and booked a taxi to take us there in 2 minutes of making the request The only downside is the gym and the lack of vegan options for meals. Breakfast is also a bit limited, but the chef helped me find vegan options.

Fantastic hotel . Lovely helpful staff. Great rooms , comfy bed. Excellent breakfast buffet. Room cleaner Jane was excellent. Lots of little extra touches I didn’t use the fitness center or pool but they look amazing. I did go for 2 runs - the concierge team can offer you a running map ( not really needed) and cold water and towels on your return . A great treat . Can’t wait to come back

Amazing view and great amenities! However, the check-in process was absolutely horrendous. We booked Oriental Pearl view room, and they DOWNGRADED US to partial view room. We asked why downgraded us?? (This is just too ridiculous that we couldn’t believe it), the lady simply told us that because the room we booked wasn’t ready yet- it was 4:30pm already when we checked in… We insisted that we want the room we booked. She had us to sit at the lobby (didn’t comp any coffee/water), told us it should take 20 min for the room to be ready. Turned out we waited for almost an hour.

Staff were wonderful, the view of the Bund and Pearl tower was gorgeous and the amenities in the room were top notch. Had a very enjoyable stay - will come again.

Good location, responsive room service, clean and comfortable room, fast check out. It was an excellent stay. Located slightly further away from city centre and therefore offers quiet surroundings for good rest. Room design is contemporary and I like it a lot. If hotel could provide covered car park, that will be great

Amazing property and amazing view. Definitely check out the swimming pool. The only two small negatives - there were no scales in the room and the breakfast buffet was good, but not stellar as would be expected at Ritz level.

Top notch

The Ritz exceeded my expectations. The staff was amazing, especially Ada and Estella in the restaurant. They were always there to help guide me to some delicious food and giving me the best seat in the house. The hand written letters I received everyday made me feel at home. Wouldn’t stay anywhere else.

Service from staff was excellent and helpful. They gave me ginger tea upon my arrival through rain. Lobby manager Mike can remember my surname even after days of accommodation. Feel so warm.

I was impressed with the level of kindness from staff. They are very professionals and always ready to help. The restaurant staff in the 52 floor treat you like a King and are very respectfull. Overall I and have a good impression about the and I will surely return. Just want to mention that due to professional reasons I had to check out one day before my original check out date

It was a best hotel stay in Shanghai. Especially service quality was exceptional, among the hotel staff Ivy (Ritz-Carlton Club manager), Alex (Door keeper) was so friendly and made our best experience there. Because of them I'm convinced to go back there and stay again.

What 5-star hotel should be

Great location, lovely room with amazing view and staff that goes extra mile to provide best possible service.

The view from The Club Studio room was amazing and the Club Lounge access was worth it. However, the decor in the room seems rather old and dated, the tv in the bathroom didn't work. The bed was the best sleep I ever had so that was a relaxing experience. The only one thing we disliked was that we had to pay for swimming caps to go in the pool and jacuzzi. This is the first time I ever was told I was not allowed in a pool without a swimming cap. The staff said I can buy from them the caps they sold around $20 usd and I had no choice since it was my last day. Despite that, I'd stay at the The Ritz Carlton Pudong again for the view and club services.

Superior property with excellent service and hospitality. The beds are the best I've slept on in China, exceptionally comfortable as I like them lofty.

Best Hotel Experience

I cannot say enough good things about this hotel. From the moment we arrived, we had a fantastic experience. The service is superb, and the room was fantastic. Great bed and shower, and very spacious with plenty of room to hang up our clothes. We had breakfast at the hotel which was great, and we also had dinner at one of the restaurants and it was exceptional. They even gave us a few extras at dinner for being guests of the hotel. The area around the hotel is very easy to navigate, and it was easy for us to get anywhere we wanted. We can't wait to go back and stay again!

Amazing Hotel with great view to the river & tower, top location over Ifc mall. Arrived late evening I was greated by the friendly reception desk staff. The luxury room offers all what you can expect from a top luxury hotel. The Flair cafe & restaurant has an amazing view, the food and the drinks was fantastic. I recommend the rooftop restaurant, but making a reservation via e-mail is very helpful, especially on weekend. The most advantage is that you can reach the hotel via short walk through IFC shopping mall. If you are looking for a amazing view over Shanghai and a rooftop with great food & drinks, this is the best of the best luxury hotel you can find in Shanghai close to the tower !!

Great hotel, wonderful service. Eager to please!! Exceptional experience.

Exceptional service. The only problem I had that my room did not get cleaned two times in a row. Also our room was not ready upon the arrival which was one hour later than check in time. For the inconvenience we did get our room upgraded.

Great location, very close with Metro station, IFC mall. The staffs are very helpful, Frank and Michael especially, they help me settle in and getting around Shanghai. Your staff could not have been friendlier, more helpful, or professional! They were just terrific! Your restaurants were just as great with delicious and well-prepared offerings. Your gym is generously supplied with tons of equipment options in brand new condition. I appreciate that you have a lovely swimming oool, hot tub, and sauna available as well. Our room was beautiful with a great view!!

Will stay here next time, professional front desk staff

I stay at club access Room at this hotel for the convenient travel. Everything was great except i can only reserved one free limousine ride to the bun during my 5 days stay at the hotel. Perhaps in future the staff can help to inform better how to take advantage for the limousine ride. Overall i'm pleased with service and food provided during my stay.

The Ritz

Could not have been better. What we really appreciated was the kind and very helpful staff that were available at all times. The stay was phenomenal!

The stay was very very disappointing for Ritz Carlton 5 star hotel. The hotel didn’t have proper heat working it was freezing in the rooms, we called for them to fix it they tried multipule times than moved us to another room. The other room had the same issue we had to deal with freezing cold room for another night. When we called the manager to complain because we felt sick they said the heat is not working but they gave us a space heater. A 5 star hotel room suite with a small electric heater. My husband felt ill from his stomach and was sick in the bathrooms and when I called to ask what types of teas they offered they right away answered “it’s not free” I’m paying over $500 for a room per night does it seem that I would care for few dollars tea bag, they were very rude and disrespectful. We also went out to dinner and couldn’t find a taxi back since it was snowing in Shanghai for once and when we called the hotel to help us get a taxi they said no they can’t do that for their guests Also they breakfast buffet was more like a 3 star hotel, bread was cold and hard only eggs and cereal for breakfast options and Chinese lunch for breakfast. We have traveled to many countries and stayed in many 5 star hotels I’ve never experienced a service and hotel like this. The only good service they have was the spa honestly

Fantastic hotel close to Shanghai Tower

Close to Shanghai Tower (awesome views from hotel room), lounge-access for club room is worth the extra cost as food and drink selection is great and service is first class. Rooms are spacious and can be interconnected (great for families). Beds are wonderfully comfortable. Only regret was I couldn't stay a few more days.

Warm comfort

This is an excellent facility and location in Shanghai. Facility aside, the team taking care of us at the hotel was fabulous. We used the club lounge and the staff there made us feel very special and welcome, that what made our vacation special. A simple gesture of packing us leeches (after my wife had a conversation about that fruit with the staff at the club lounge) for our excursion one day was so caring and sincere that it really touched our heart. Kudos to the staff, management for a job well done. Will definitely go back there with our kids.

Delightful staff, even noticed our dire hot condition after a day of sightseeing and immediately sent up more water to our room. Very excellent location, amazing pool and spa bathtub. The staff were completely friendly and wonderful! Always helpful! Room was spacious, bed delicious, view drop dead! First time in Shanghai, but in the future will ALWAYS stay at the Ritz! They have completely spoiled us!

My experience at the Ritz-Carlton Shanghai Pudong was simply outstanding. The accommodations were awesome, as we were upgraded to a room overlooking the Bund. The staff all provided exceptional service, particularly a guest recognition officer named Evelyn Yu who went above and beyond to ensure our stay was wonderful. We also received excellent and personalized service at Flair Restaurant from Yvonne over lunch. The manager of Flair restaurant named Ivan also gave unbelievably personalized service on two evenings. The weekend at the Ritz was so nice that we decided to return a week later for an overnight stay. We cannot recommend the hotel more highly.

I had to go Disneyland and unfortunately the staff didn't inform me that passport has to be shown to purchase tickets. All information regarding Disney land trip was provided to me from hotel staff. I went to Disneyland on 22nd June and could not enter as I didn't carry my passport along. Even the metro line information for going to National Exhibition and Airport was not proper as I had to figure it out with someone else.

Just completed a fantastic 3 day stay at the Ritz Carlton Pudong to conclude our vacation in Asia. Very impressed by the high level of professional and friendly service (which is typical throughout the Ritz hotel chain) provided by everyone at this hotel. Especially front desk personnel Cancy, Jayden & Jennifer... the manager and bell boys who always greeted us with smiles and offer to help in any which way possible (our luggage, transportation & general directions)... as well as the prompt, discreet and outstanding job by maintenance staff to keep our room (#5101 - with fabulous view of the three skycrapers nearby particularly at night) and public areas in tip top condition. Our request for earlier check-in and a late check-out time was granted without a hitch. We were pleasantly surprised by the kind gestures from the staff -- including personal greeting cards, fruit platters and desserts, as we celebrated a couple of special occasions during our trip. Also dined at the in-house Aura Lounge and Flair rooftop restaurants and enjoyed both the food and sweeping view of the Bund very much. Will certainly stay here again on our next visit to Shanghai. Highly recommended 5-stars!!

Lovely hotel - especially the executive club servi

I don’t particular love Art Deco decor but the hotel was lovely and the service was excellent. I stayed on the club floor and club service was superb - about the best I’ve ever had. It was all day food/beverage ( including wine) and fabulous snacks . It was nice to not have that “happy hour” rush at most prestige hotel clubs. I was treated like a princess.

This hotel is a ***** Star property in Pudong. Perfect hotel if you are staying for business. Great hotel with all the details.

Modern luxury hotel in the city centre

Fantastic experience in the club lounge with lovely staff. Celebrated grandparents 80th, which the staff catered for. Excellent facilities including the gym, pool and rooftop bar.

It is a new beautiful hotel with incredible views and services. Everyone was so helpful and accommodating.

Beautiful hotel. Close to Pearl Tower.

We booked the "Studio" room. I think they refer to it as a "junior suite" at the hotel. Beautiful room with panoramic views of the city. Our room faced the Shanghai Tower on the right and on the left, you could see the Pearl Tower. Room size is more than sufficient and we had a baby in tow. House keeping was excellent as they had brought us some baby toiletry products. Also, there is no shortage of bottled water in the room to drink and to make formula with. They also constantly refill at turndown and in the mornings. Special thanks goes to Guest Recognition Officer, Erica, for making our stay fabulous. She had printed out Shanghai information for us and given it to us, even without us asking! And we were also given a lovely Ritz Kidz backpack for our LO. The hotel is right above the subway station. There is also a high-end mall right below the hotel and another mall across the street with many other shops.

Shanghai excellence

Our five night stay in a Club Deluxe room was an excellent choice. Generous size room with beautiful amenities. The Club lounge offered a delightful reprieve from the business of the Shanghai streets at the end of each day as well as a delicious breakfast at the start. The staff were amazingly helpful and offered excellent advice. I would highly recommend this hotel. A quick taxi trip took us to our varying destinations each day.

My wife and I have had a wonderful stay at the Ritz-Carlton. The hotel is well situated near Bund and restaurants, bars and the rooms with Bund view have excellent views. The night view especially is stunning. Hotel is very well managed, very clean and the staff strives to deliver at all levels.

Fantastic View of Shanghai skyline

Commanding the best view of Pearl Tower and Shanghai skyline. Outstanding customer services at all spectrum and all levels. The staffs are very well trained and provide personalized services with genuine attitude. The spa treatments are very pleasant and efficient. The Italian restaurant has high quality food which excuted and presented well. However the price is overly high comparing with international standards , especially the steak and bottled water. Perhaps the huge import tax is add on. Also should have more reasonable wine selection. Overall, outstanding property, we had great time.

Not worth it

Told on checking in that the room rate from the wotif booking had increased by 20%. Rude staff refused to charge us the amount on the wotif booking confirmation. Had to complain to wotif who contacted the hotel before they would agree to honour the booking amount. And even then they made our lives difficult asking for a printed confirmation. They finally agreed and refunded the excess money they took. Never again, not worth the hassle.

2nd time here, top quality all the way staff Top

As I mentioned above this is my second stay here, as expected it is exceptional, the staff make it their business to know your name and address you by name rather than sir, it just adds a little more homely approach. My only ever negative is the Spa, last time I had a wonderful massage in the spa, this time I wanted to have it in my room, two wonderful gals turned up one to carry the massage table, that's right not on the bed, on a professional table, normally in the spa it will have cost 900 RMB, after an amazing massage I went to sign the bill and it was 1,725 RMB including TAX this equates to AUD$345, let me tell you there was a time Gold Leaf was used for massaging in Japan, I am sure it didn't cost this much, this I think is more than excessive. Otherwise the place is amazing.

Expectations in a 5Star International Hotel

You often expect everything in a 5star international hotel to be top quality, including the service, on this trip I have experienced 2 International Hotels while I was in China. It is expected that staff no matter in which country must be able to communicate adequately in a 5star Hotel. The Ritz-Carlton is one you can expect and receive such a service, you are greeted at the entrance by staff welcoming you with above average English, right through to checking in with the friendliest of staff, and the dinner at the Italian Restaurant was such a pleasurable night to remember again staff was excellent, my Compliments to the management, The New F&B manager was extremely friendly and welcoming, Magdali has just joined the team recently she will add more after taking with her & learning her past postings. Look no further when in Shanghai my choice will certainly be The Ritz-Carlton*****. My other experience was the Intercontinental hotel in Hangzhou, again you would expect this hotel to have all that the Ritz-Carlton has, you couldn't be further from that in fact, the Hotel looks amazing, the staff, well they all lacked English including the front office staff, imagine dining in the Western Food restaurant and the waiter does not understand a word of English, how frustrating, oh try ordering a spirit after the lunch period, it is not available, 5 Star? sorry based on that I wouldn't even go near it again even for free. For Hangzhou look elsewhere not worth the money at all

I have wonderfully time stay in this hotel. the only problem is the view.

The server Daisy Jiang at roof-top Flair was exceptional, she provided excellent service and I enjoyed the friendly chit-chat. :) The only complain I have about my room is that the power outlets on the desk were all broken.

Amazing hotel in the heart of Shanghai

I stayed at this hotel when I visited Shanghai on business. However it was such a treat to be there. My room had a great view of Shanghai, including parts of the Bund across the river. Breakfast and dinner in the lobby restaurant upstairs near the top of the tower was also incredible, because of the great views of the city as well as for the food. All the amenities at this hotel are top notch. Because the property is essentially brand-new, everything is in great shape.

The hotel was top class, what you would expend with a Ritz, Then the location was the best you could have in Shanghai. The Staff were exceptional and the best service I have ever experienced and I travel around the world every 2 weeks.
