The Ritz-Carlton takes hospitality to a whole other level. My stay was extraordinary thanks to their staff who is focused on exceeding your expectations and anticipating your needs. The breakfast buffet in this particular property is a huge value add. I've stayed at many TRC's around the world and the service in this one was top notch.

The experience at the the Istanbul Ritz Carlton was truly mind-blowing! This was our first visit to Istanbul and the stay at the Ritz made it so, so Special! The staff and service at the breakfast buffet were TOTALLY top-notch! While Each and EVERY staff member was courteous, friendly and helpful, special mention goes to Muhammet, Selchuk and Chef Serkan. Muhammet and his colleagues' friendly service, attention to detail and overall care, made the breakfast experience above and beyond ANYTHING we have ever experienced! In one word, the breakfast experience at the Ritz was EXCEPTIONAL! The room-cleaning ladies were extremely accommodating, thorough and friendly. We were there for five days, and each and every time the room and bathroom were cleaned to perfection! The staff at the Ritz Carlton made our trip to Istanbul a memorable one!

Of all the places and hotels I have stayed in over 65 countries this Hotel - Ritz-Carlton Istanbul is the best by far. The staff, the ambience, the courtesty is unmatched. If there is a star rating above 5, I would rate The Ritz-Carlton Istanbul as a 10 star.

I was very impressed with the professionalism, friendliness, and service provided by each staff. They were very committed to proving me with an exceptional stay.

Great views, staff and amenities. When you book on Hotel.com/expedia be careful when picking spa credits, there are no spa credits at the hotel and hotels.com has the option on their site for some reason. -£270 on unusable spa credits, you will NOT get a refund, be careful!

It's a beautiful hotel located in the phosphorus with the beautiful view.

There was a plumbing noice in the room all night. When the issue was brought to the attention of a manager, we were moved to a different side of the hotel that was much better.

Enjoyed my stay,the staff was very polite & attentive..Breakfast was good with assorted options..Room was cleaned daily except the last night after it was cleaned some things were hard to locate but we found them later in the room.Other than that good stay would book again ENJOY‼️

Great facilities, our experience of the staff service was a little mixed but nevertheless all round it was a good stay.

The service was excellent and the room spacious and well-appointed. We received an upgrade to a partial sea view and the concierge was very efficient in recommending a number of options of sightseeing options for us to do. The hotel also gave us early check-in as opposed to having us wait until the official check-in time. That act of kindness alone was stellar.

Noisy at nights. Room service got our order wrong. Limited restaurants. Removed from main attractions.

Beautiful hotel in a really convenient location to explore the city! The staff were attentive and Sevinch at breakfast was particularly welcoming and friendly!

This is a quiet luxury hotel with a full fitness center, great breakfast every morning with staff who are eager to help and lovely to see every day.

Our stay at the Ritz Carlton surpassed our expectations, the staff were amazing, friendly and polite, who couldnt do enough for us. The facilities were first class, and we managed to use the pool, sauna and steam room. The veiw from the breakfast room, was simply stunning.

Smoking hotel

There is smoking in the hotel, in some rooms, but the scent gets everywhere. We had to switch rooms because of this, and we'd still get whiffs of it at times. They say your floor is non-smoking, but that really doesn't matter since the air circulates throughout the building. Service was ok, but they nickel and dime like crazy. $15 for a bottle of water is outrageous. But hey, it's Turkey and the entire country is out to rip off travelers.

We booked and paid for a premium king room with a full Bosphorus view. When we checked into our room, we had a view of another structure 20 feet from the room. When I called to change our room, the front desk literally told me “yea well you’re on the 3rd floor so there’s not a full view there”. What kind of response is that? It’s not my fault or responsibility that I’m on the 3rd floor and therefore I don’t get the view I paid for. They didn’t have any other rooms available that night and told us they’d change our rooms in the morning. So we didn’t unpack that night. Woke up, reminded them of the change, and went out for the day. Came back around 6PM - which is ample time for them to change rooms for us - and a new room wasn’t ready. After I expressed my unhappiness, a room became available in 5 mins. Fine, thanks. Even worse than this, some floors of this hotel are smoking floors. Every time someone lit a cigarette, the smell of it came into the room through the ventilation. It was disgusting. One morning we were woken up at 6am in the morning with the literal smell of raw sewage. I ran to the bathroom to see if our toilet overflowed or something. Nope. Somewhere I guess something happened with a toilet or sewer system, and the smell came into our room through the ventilation. We had to shower and dress with this smell. When I complained about this, I was asked if we had any accidents… no. Said they send somebody to clean our toilets. Great problem solving, thanks.

The hotel staff is extremely helpful and very helpful. Hotel is in a top notch condition.

The property was nice but it sits on a hill which makes walking back and forth difficult.

Excellent stay except that we reserved a room with a view, we got what they called a partial view, but really not even partial. A bit disappointing

The location of the property is excellent for walking around Istiklal Street (one of the main shopping high streets) and Cehangir area : where a lot of locals live and go out. The hotel junior staff is super friendly and polite, but their English is almost non existent. Enter the people in suits : sadly the suits speak better English but present in a very unfriendly manner. Not sure if this was because we looked American or they are just plain rude across the board. Maybe a bit of both, because we could see carpets being rolled out for other nationalities. There is a clear difference between “professional” and “just plain rude”.

The Ritz-Carlton Istanbul is a beautiful hotel, close to great areas and sights of the city, yet far enough away to feel quiet. The staff were wonderful and very helpful, from in-room service to helping us navigate the city and plan outings. I'd look forward to returning to this lovely property.

This property exceeded our expectations. Our stay was truly wonderful and we wished we had longer at the Ritz Carlton Istanbul. We have travelled Europe for two years in a row amongst other destinations and have consistently stayed at 5 star properties throughout our lives, however the service received by staff at this property blew us away. The property is in a fantastic location and an easy walk to Taksim Square, Taxis are readily available at the lobby taking the stress out of organising your own, club rooms have high quality food and drinks which we were very satisfied with, the swimming pool area is stunning with ample space and bedding for guests to swim or simply relax with some music and food/drinks, the rooms are extremely clean and feature Diptyque products, comfortable bedding and a pillow menu. Lastly but most importantly to us I wanted to thank Mevluthan the absolutely wonderful staff member whom checked us in. His service and hospitality was incredible and I truly hope he receives the recognition he deserves. From the minute we arrived, Mevluthun provided a true Ritz Carlton experience. We are very grateful to him for going above and beyond to make our stay special along with all the other wonderful staff at the Ritz Istanbul. ’We truly cannot wait to return and also loved the thoughtful handwritten notes left in our room on a couple of occasion’s with chocolates etc. The Ritz Istanbul is impeccable in every way. Thank you.

Overall bad experience

The room is half of the size of what is advertised!! It’s only 50m2 not 107m2!! I have stayed in more then 100 hotels this is first time I stayed at RC and found out that kids 4 years younger can’t swim in their indoor swimming pool!! When I questioned this no answer or bothered to call us back and explain!! I will not recommend RC hotel or Hotels.com for misleading information provided on their website about size of room!! Bad experience

Room is 10/10 Service is 10/10 Amenities 5/10 Not having a proper outdoor pool was a a bit disappointing The infinitely pool can barely fit two swimmers and located on the 2d floor , no rooftop terras !

Way overrated. Most staff are unfriendly. Rooms were cramped. Their taxis are rip off. They did not clean the room. Too much attitude for minimal service

The hotel is good and everything was amazing, but the hotel’s taxi drivers are scammers. They do everything to make the road longer so they can earn more.

Facilities don’t live up to expectations

I want to start my review with a positive note. The service and the people at the Ritz were absolutely top notch. They were absolutely attentive and continue to set the gold standard for hospitality service hands down. The common areas in the lobby, restaurant and pool area were elegant, clean and high class as you would expect from the Ritz. However we’ve been to other Ritz locations that were much more impressive and I was expecting more local Turkish architectural design and influence which was lacking. Our least favorite part of our stay was the room. It felt no different than staying in a cookie cutter Marriott room. There is nothing special about the experience and since most of our time is spent in the room, I gave the overall rating three stars. I expected more charm and Ottoman elegance for the price we paid and was disappointed. We also stayed in a boutique hotel in instanbul and preferred the charm of that place much more.

It was fantastic

The hotel is tired and in need of a renovation. The staff are very friendly, but disorganized and lack a sense of urgency. The breakfast was almost inedible, and was a disappointment. This is not a typical Ritz Carlton.

Excellent stay

Overall excellent, this is a stunning hotel. Close to the tramway stop to easily go do sightseeing, walkable (if you don't mind the steep roads), room is very comfortable, and the staff very nice. Only down is the indoor pool temperature in the spa, but that's a personal preference.

Wonderful

Great atmosphere and good location

The quality of staff and depth/sincerity of the hospitality is legendary. We got a free upgrade to a suite, a complimentary Father’s Day lunch on top of an incredible breakfast buffet for a wonderful end to our journey across Turkey. Concierge and staff is extremely helpful and easy to communicate with.
