Great place to stay. Food excellent. Comfy bed clean and spacious room.Staff were friendly and helpful. Will definitely stay again.

The food was amazing cannot fault it . The staff where very nice and polite and helpful , breakfast was great in the morning would highly recommend this pub

Great hidden little gem

Stayed here maybe 15 times or more now. Always very pleasant.

Comfortable & friendly accommodation

Comfortable and clean room with friendly staff. We would stay here again on our return to Ipswich.

We had a great overnight stay at The railway Inn. All staff were very accommodating & Friendly.. Definitely will stay there again on our next visit to Ipswich.. it’s only a 8 minute taxis journey to the Theatre….

The front room we had at the B&B was very noisy all night. There's a level crossing with trains only 50 metres away. What sounded like a drayman arrived at 10pm. Road noise was a disturbance and then at 2am we were awakened by what sounded like ballast trucks unloading. We didn't get up to investigate quite was going on, but I wondered if night trackwork had commenced. We ate in the restaurant and my Haddock, chunky chips and peas hit the spot. My wife's choice of burger didn't, the bun looked undersized, containing a small Pattie with a little pulled meat on top with a thin slice of cheese. The chips were skinny with no pulp to them, in fact close to unedible. The accompanying coleslaw and salad was the best part. So all in all not a great experience at the Railway, Westerfield.

Good stay and friendly service. Nice selection of food and drink in the communal area.

Perfectly positioned for my needs. Very reasonably priced. Shame there was no bath, but staff couldn’t be more helpful.

Was good stay. Only slight negative was cleaner hoovering the pub at 630am but I suppose you have to take that staying above a pub

Great value pub

Stayed two nights. Room spacious, basic and comfortable. Some train noise. Includes good, basic breakfast components available outside room. Food in pub very good. Not luxurious but an excellent value stay.

Great find by the railway

Very pleasant stay, loads of parking, big room and en suite, great staff, lovely food especially the beef and Guinness pie. Will happily use again.

Good value

This was our 3rd (or 4th) stay here as part of a trip to see family. The rooms are clean and comfortable and there’s a good food offering if you chose to eat here too. Good value and friendly.

Very convenient as we were at a function in the garden. The room was good and the breakfast was ok. good value for money.

Mid week stay

The pub was lovely as were the staff. The location was good. We ate at the pub both evenings and the food was excellent and good value for money.

Staff seemed unaware that I was staying there. The placewas in complete darkness at 8-30 p.m., it was Sunday. Generally appeared that pub business was more important than hotel.

A good well located pub.

A lovely well situated pub. Good food and good service. My only criticism would be the breakfast. An all in one package for guests would be good rather than having to pay for each item, even the coffee.

Great Budget Hotel

From the moment we arrived we thought this looks really good and our stay was,

Ipswich hotel.

Excellent pub inn near Ipswich and Woodbridge. Nice rooms with beautiful views of pastoral countryside. Quiet pub on ground floor with lots of beer choices and excellent, hearty food. Very friendly and kind staff. 5-8 minute drive to central Ipswich. Or take train 1 min walk to station.

Fantastic all round, facilities, food, friendly staff.

Very comfortable room. Felt more like a room in a house than a commercial business. Fantastic continental breakfast spread. Tv had Netflix and prime as well as terrestrial. Full length mirror in room very useful. Charming place to stay and would recommend. Dining area looks very intimate and attractive and others have told me the food is good.

Comfortable stay - friendly staff

Throughly enjoyed my stay, although just for one night for work but, with the friendly helpful staff, lovely comfortable room and spacious parking space, i would definetly return in the future when I need for work.

The room was well equipped with a comfortable bed, the shower room had generous toiletries and towels. There was a basic complementary continental breakfast in the room augmented by a larger range of cereals,fruit and a fridge with yoghurts, fruit, juice milk, and soft drinks in the lobby just outside. Evening meals were of high standard if portions a little large. Extensive number tables, both inside and out. Adjacent to the railway crossing there was some intermittent noise at night from freight trains

Fantastic location. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful and the restauarant food was varied and delicious. Loved the area and would definitely return to The Railway.

Amazing little place

Loved the place had everything needed,lovely big room, big bed, wardrobe, drawers, kettle, tea ,coffee, water, biscuits, shower with lots of nice little touches, shower gel, shampoo, toothpaste & all the rest. Mini fridge on landing with bottle water, cans , milk. Lots breakfast cereal to choose from again on landing so you can take back into your bedroom for breakfast in bed. Just help yourself to anything. Easy Check in, lovely staff, Sarah the owner is lovely. Unfortunately we didn't get to eat there as ran out if days but the food looked lush & smelt lovely & wish had had another day. Would defo go back if we are in the area. Even the trains didn't keep us awake.
