Great breakfast. Easy parking.
Very clean, great bedroom and bed sadly let down by the bathroom. Gap under door made it pointless being there and nowhere to put anything down, a tooth mug on wall would have helped. Overall good for short stays only. Breakfast and staff were superb.
Excellent 1 night stay
Lots of good details and home made stuff. Bed good, shower amazing. Food was a highlight. The room (at the back) was not very soundproof - so could hear most of neighbours convos.
Overnight stay
We stayed in the pod behind the pub. Great fun and very comfortable. Bed and breakfast in the pub and also had dinner. The staff were lovely and the food was amazing.
Perfect!
Picture-perfect, cozy, welcoming, with friendly staff, excellent breakfasts and great beers - we spent a lovely couple of days here. Nice touches like fresh milk for your room if you'd like to make your own coffee in the morning. And the village shop is right next door if you need anything.
Its my little place of paradise i simply love staying here
Cannot fault
Loved our stay so much we booked again!
My daughters and I stayed here for 2 nights and absolutely loved the property. It was so quiet and had a lovely country feel. The restaurant was excellent, some of the best food we had while we were in England. Our breakfast was included in the stay and it was also excellent. We have such fond memories of our stay. We would definitely stay here again!
Worth a visit
Fabulous. Breakfast amazing. Comfy bed with nice linen. Highly recommend.
Trendy Traditional Inn
Pretty inn with lovely decor and grounds. Enjoyed room and dinner, tasty fare with lots of local items. Breakfast included was a nice touch. Service conscientious but at times a bit short. Beautiful even in the rain
Pear tree inn.
Beautiful location in the heart of english country side. The staff was awesome. Room was very well furnished and equipped. The drive to the place via scenic route was absolutely a delight to your eyes. Would stay there anytime and everytime
Great hotel
Great hotel with wonderful staff
.
Beautiful cabin past the potting shed in a rural gastro-pub setting. Set well enough away from the main premises that you don't feel overlooked or disturbed. Staff were lovely, great location, food was also very good (although I'd avoid the vegan dessert if I went again). Bathroom facilities in-line with the tiny-home aesthetic - bear this in mind if you intend to spend a lot of time in the bath, I suppose? Would go again!
What an amazing find. Allowed us to enjoy some excellent food and explore the region.
Relaxing and secluded, under scrutiny of staff
I stayed in a log cabin at the back of the Inn's garden. It was both private and very comfortable. Including kitchen facilities and a smart TV with Netflix and Prime Video etc. There was also a nice little porch area with a view of the fields behind the property. The Inn itself is a beautiful old cottage with a large picturesque garden. My only complaint would be the unrequested wakeup calls. I booked with breakfast included, the staff thought they would helpfully bang on my window periodically as a reminder it was available. I had been out late the night before and had intended to sleep in. So this wasn't welcome. On check-out day, I was just finishing up in the shower to make my way over 30 mins before breakfast and check-out was supposed to end and someone entered my room / cabin. Just to see if I wanted breakfast. Personally I don't like to be disturbed unless necessary. There was a phone in the cabin, so if they were anxious about checkout and really wanted to get hold of me they could have tried calling first. That being said, this didn't bother me too much but I felt it worth mentioning as I have never had this at any other place I've stayed.
Isolated
Ive said it before and i will say it again and again the pear tree in is a true lttle gem. It was our third visit and it was just as lovely, we stayed in the moon glow accommodation which was fab as usual, i cannot recommend this place enough, lovely setting, lovely cosy bar area lively food and lovely staff. We will keep going back - thank you for a great break away
Nice hotel with lovely rooms and excellent staff.
Nice clean well managed pub with rooms very tastefully decorated and well equipped. The food was very good especially the breakfast which was excellent. Great service from all of the staff. Loads of parking.
Very comfortable bed, lovely room, good breakfast
Hugely impressive Inn with great staff and delicious food. Will definitely visit again.
We are lucky to have found this true gem, it was our second time staying and we will go back time and time again, the location, pub, restaurant, rooms and staff are absolutely amazing. The smell of the log fire as you walk in and the overall cosiness
A gem of a hotel
An absolutely spectacular in. Jackie and her team were fantastic and took such good care of us. The food was also exceptional. I would highly recommend this venue for any one who wants to have a great time in the Wiltshire area. On top of all of that, the bus into the town of Bath stops right across the street from this hotel. Five stars if I could give more, I would.
Definitely will return
Fantastic breakfast, and loved the pear drops in the room alongside filter coffee. Great touch
One of the best little independant pub / hotels
One of the best little independant pub / hotels Kay and I have ever stayed in. Everyone working there were friendly, nothing was too much trouble and the food and accommodatiion were spot. We wouldn't hesitate to go again.
Great stay, room and everything else was perfect.
Great stay
Bit of a disappointment
No windows made for uncomfortable sleeping ground floor bedroom, plus heating constantly on in bathroom. No bedside lamp in upper floor room very dangerous negotiating getting out of bed and down the steps and stairs during the night. Room advertised with garden/courtyard area, this area unkempt no weeding done seating was rusty and undesirable to use this area. Booked a specific table for evening meal, staff had no record of this so table had to be got ready, we ordered our meals(5 in total) one meal didn’t arrive until the rest of us finished. Upon check out the overall bill showed a £33 service fee!!! Which I did not pay any tips/gratuities should be optional AND NOT added to the bill.
This was a wonderful property. They have thought of everything. Fans in the rooms, family room was very spacious and fun for kids. Food was good. Pub was nice!
Beautiful, old, character-full inn with excellent dining. The grounds / garden are lovely for a stroll or for sitting out with a drink. The garden room (family room) was great for our needs with two young children. All very clean and thoughtfully decorated, charming style. Breakfast and dinner all great. Rural area, great base for exploring surrounding areas.
Very nice break
Room was very clean, nice comfortable bed & very nice decor Shower control a bit temperamental but very nice once it got going. The only slight downside was expensive evening meal & limited choices, but cooked very well! Excellent breakfast
Staff were super friendly and helpful. and dinner and breakfast were excellent. Great room and really comfy bed. Would stay again Over all a great stay Thankyou.
Lovely comfortable rooms.
Fantastic place! Loved the ambiance. Tons of unique charm.
Excellent standard of cleanliness, service and food
Lovely comfy place to stay for a night. Sting by the fire in the bar. Great food.
Lovely well presented inn with bags of character and cosy, nicely decorated rooms.
hidden gem
fabulous overnight stop- great food, comfortable rooms and wonderfully helpful staff
Love everything about The Pear Tree! Beautiful
Our nights stay at The Pear Tree Inn was lovely. Gorgeous setting, beautifully renovated. Beautiful room, very homely and not too “hotely”. We had a lovely evening meal and the choices on the breakfast menu were amazing. Most importantly the staff were all fantastic. I would 100% recommend a stay here.
Little Gem that just need a little improving.
The hotel is situated in a very quiet village which is convenient for Bath. The hotel looks fabulous and the grounds are lovely especially at night when lit giving a lovely ambience. Our room was was of ample size for two with a large comfortable bed and a lovely bathroom. The hotel would be perfect except for a few small details. We were greeted and shown the way to our room but felt it wasn’t the warmest of greeting and was let down by no initial explanation of the facilities in the room. It took me to the next day how to work the bedside lamps. Breakfast on the first night was great with an attentive waitress and wore a mask but sadly on day two the Mask was missing which in today’s climate was concerning. Breakfast has limited options for vegetarians and I really feel that a full English with vegetarian alternatives for sausages and bacon aren’t a lot to ask for in a modern world.
average - over priced
This is a very average hotel and over priced. reception staff very stuck up and not accommodating
Great staff and service, Kate was lovely very welcoming, she checked us in and served at dinner and breakfast. The inn offers a good range of food and drinks too. Our room in the garden was clean, comfortable and cosy. We really enjoyed our weekend break.
Perfect
Lovely place to stay, very friendly staff and the room was spotless. Would highly recommend it
great stay - very comfortable
Very comfortable stay, lovely room, great bar and food, friendly staff, one of the nicer hotels i have used recently, will definitely be back
Absolutely our favourite place to stay if we are heading West! The building is beautiful with a choice of fires to settle in by in the comfortable bar. Food is always delicious and the team are so very friendly! Visit in the summer and the gardens are a joy to sit in. Dogs are welcome, it’s just a lovely relaxed place to be.
This is a fantastic pub for a stopover. Anjou is my preferred room-it’s not huge but it’s lovely (although the shower could be better. The food is fantastic and the staff are amazing-plus a great gin menu
Pretty Good Overall.
A very nice pub, restaurant and rooms for the night weekend venue. The food was 'pretty good' but service was sometimes a little long in the waiting for. The food was generally very good but more attention to details please Inn Keepers, as the toast offered with the Charcuterie board was 'definitely dead'. When mentioned, a polite apology was offered but zero reduction to the bill was offered. Our bathroom in 'Comice' was very small and the bath very high to climb into which is required as it is bath / shower combo.
Brilliant
Brilliant in all respects
