The aircon is controlled by the staff and only on 7pm-9am and on my first night it was set at 27oC so might as well not existed (it was 26 outside)! The bed was hard and the bathrooms multisex and shared with the cafe downstairs. Overall there’s better hostels for the same or less in Phuket Old Town.

TravellerStaff is amazing, superfriendly. The property is an old colonial-era building right in the middle of Old Town Pucket. The cafe downstairs is a nice place to hang out and serves great food – even if they overcharge the hell out of what you eat (breakfast is not included with your stay) Unfortunately the cafe is where the airconditioning stops, the hostel’s common area is most of the day not a great hangout simply because it’s too hot, and when you walk out of your room you get hit in the face by the heat that lingers in the upstairs hallways. The private room I was in had a bed without springs and a hard matress. After 2 nights I was glad to leave because my back was acting up. The staff really makes up a lot for the above, but the private rooms are definitely not worth their rate.
