Basic but clean
Great accommodations, clean and convenient
Great warm welcome and check in from the proprietor, lovely clean room and a fantastic breakfast. Believe the hype about the pizzas too! Amazing!
Overnight at Neidpath Inn.
We enjoyed our stay at the Neidpath Inn. The staff were very welcoming and efficient .There was also a band on the Saturday we syayed which was a bonus .
Roberto was very helpful and rooms were clean and comfortable
Great stay
Very welcoming with my room ready and available to me earlier that the specified time. Plenty tea / coffee sachets in my room and loved the bed. Dog friendly which suited my old dog with a park a short walk away where she could stretch her legs etc.
Cozy and right by everything you could need. The views from my room in particular were stunning. Breakfast was great (I had to full Scottish breakfast). All the perks of a hotel with the family owned and run atmosphere. Would happily stay again!
Spotlessly clean and the staff were so friendly, breakfast cooked fresh would stay again.
Served a purpose
Chose this place as it was 10minutes walk from the function I was attending (at the Golf club). On arrival, there was no indication of where to park. I was fortunate enough to have pulled up right outside and was assured that ‘should be ok’. My room, at the front of the pub, was very spacious with en-suite shower room, which was very clean, as was the rest of the room. The electric shower lacked a bit of pressure but worked ok for the one night. The bed however was very firm and would benefit from some better quality pillows and bedding. Extra touches such as a glass for a drink of water and some proper sized coffee cups would also have been very welcome. There was a little disruption at the pub’s closing time (1am) but no more than the rattle of the bathroom extractor fan that did keep rattling all night long. (It was a windy night) Breakfast was booked in advance, cooked fresh and was tasty. I didn’t feel the room was worth what I paid, but for ease of location it served a purpose.
Requested twin beds but was given large double. A bit cold during the night.
Short overnight stay
Very friendly and welcoming. Room clean and comfortable. Convenient location and lovely breakfast Thank you
great stay at the Neidpath definitely book to stay again.
A trip to Peebles
A kerfuffle to book in as they hadn't a copy of our booking. Sorted with proprietor arrived. Basic cleanliness was good. Stairs could have been vacuumed to give a better first impression. Beds clean and comfy. Got more teabags and milk when we asked for them. Good value for money.
Comfy and reasonably priced
Room was basic but comfortable. Everything was spotless. Live music til midnight was not ideal but we had no other option! Breakfast was great. Staff super friendly and helpful.
Avoid at all costs!!!!
I don’t normally leave reviews, especially negative ones because I understand it can be a one off bad experience but after staying at the Neidpath Inn I felt I had to do that others avoid it at all costs. Highlights of the weekend’s stay. When you ‘check in’ you do so at the side of the bar and if there is any problem or queries don’t expect any help from the bar staff. Our room was meant to be a twin and booked as such, but was setup as a double. We asked for this to be changed as soon as we arrived after a very long drive, but after being told by the bar staff to ask the chambermaid who was in another room, we were unbelievably SCREAMED and SHOUTED at by her!! She swore at us in polish as we tried to explain what had happened but continued to shout that we should have asked earlier in the day even though we had just arrived!! She slammed doors and continued to be angry and aggressive towards whilst making the change despite us having done nothing wrong and pointing out our booking which said a twin room. A band in the pub was playing late into the night making sleep virtually impossible, and at 5am the following morning the same chambermaid who had screamed at us for asking for the bed to be changed made a point of banging and crashing around outside our room to ensure we were woken. The beds are old, uncomfortable and generally terrible as is everything about this place, but most of all the service.
Band playing until 1am meant sleep was disturbed. Room was fairly basic, but did have everything required .. bathroom could do with a deep clean.
The staff were very welcoming and accomodating. We were visiting with a toddler and they ordered new bedding for him. At our first breakfast we were discussing his eating habits (which can be fickle as toddlers can be) and his love of cookies. The next morning we came down to find Vanessa had gone out and bought a box for him. The whole team were really friendly and happy to help.
Loved the history of neidpath and the structure
Was a lovely stay friendly staff and very clean lovely food would recommend 👍
Large rooms. Loved the views from the windows. Excellent selection of beers. Staff were very pleasant as were the owners. pleasant eateries locally. River Tweed at the back door, excellent rambling country
Handy for the town !
In spite of the wet day I had a warm, friendly welcome at the Inn. There was a fire pit taking the chill from the air in the beer garden which had umbrellas and heaters over the tables. I enjoyed one of the house pizza's that evening, and had a good nights sleep in a large bed in a large room upstairs. Next morning I was given the most enormous "Full Scottish" breakfast I'd ever seen, fuelling me up for my day travelling home. I would stay here again and would recommend The Neidpath Inn to anyone who wishes to visit this pretty little borders town.
It was a 2 min walk from our friends and very close to the town with lots independant shops. The town itself is very lovely and its close to the river. The bed was very comfortable and the shower room very clean, nice bedding and towels. We didn't stop for breakfast as we went to be with friends so can't comment on that. Response to messages about dietry issues.
Biking stop over
Bedroom and bathroom clean and tidy. Friendly staff and owner. Breakfast was fresh and well cooked
Lovely private beer garden with fire and patio heaters, great pizza but could not cool room down as windows did not open. We were well loked after.
Nice large room. Traffic could be a problem for some but didn’t affect our stay. Bathroom recently renovated however water pressure is pretty low so shower took some time! Staff very helpful and attentive. Breakfast was good. Added bonus in these COVID times is the beer garden! Well stocked bar to suit many tastes. Would return at a later date.
Great stay
Nicely placed in the centre of Peebles, warm welcome on arrival, room was clean. Great food, friendly staff.
Peebles
Really friendly staff , super clean , great pizza, nice beer garden with fire pit , very welcome in these covid times .
Very friendly and very welcome, lovely place too stay
Excellent pub / HOTEL
Met by the owner Andy who is a lovely guy and really helpful, great room with views across the Tweed and hills beyond. Sat in the beer garden in the evening, table heaters and fresh warm blankets are provided. Great selection of drinks/beers/ spirits. Would definitely recommend the Niedoath Inn and we'll book again when Peebles
Lovely short break
We received a warm welcome on arrival and were shown to our room. We had opted for the deluxe room which was extremely spacious, comfortable and spotlessly clean. Our friendly hosts made sure that we had everything we needed during our stay. We had chosen this place after seeing some other reviews recommending the food. I have to say, we weren’t disappointed. The breakfast menu offers several cooked or lighter options. For dinner we enjoyed some fantastic Italian dishes, cooked to order by the Genovese chef. Be sure to dine at least once if you decide to stay here!
Good base for an MTB weekend
Andrew and team at the Neidpath looked after us really well this October (2020) - all precautions you would expect were in place. The rooms were really nice, very spacious and a good shower room too. There are 10 lockable bike bunkers with internal ground anchors; we were happy with the security offered and had no issues. The Neidpath is a pub and is very good; very traditional inside with pool table, bar area, a nice seating areas round the back and a good beer garden too. The beer was good as was the atmosphere. Breakfast also very good. If I had to pick anything to criticise I'd say the TV in the room was a bit small (but did have Sky TV!) and the beds were a tad hard for my taste, it was difficult to find a comfortable sleeping position. Overall we thought it was great value and an upgrade on the other places we've stayed in Peebles. We would be happy to come back with a bigger group in future.
The Neidpath Inn Experience
The Neidpath Inn was a definite wee find. The owner Andrew and his wife are lovely and very professional. Sharon (£140,000 lol) and Jamie are a credit to the Inn. The chef Roberto makes the most fabulous authentic italian food and his breakfast sets you up for the day. We had a lovely time in Peebles at the Neidpath Inn and are looking forward to a return visit. The room was large spotlessly clean and the bed was so comfortable we had a great sleep both nights. Really fab family run Inn and superb value for money
Neidpath Inn
Nice, simple room with a lovely view from the window (photos attached). The room was clean enough with a good ensuite. The rooms are above the pub, which gets busy on Friday and Saturday so there is a bit of noise, but it wasn't an issue. The breakfast is ok, generous portions and friendly service, but could use better ingredients etc as its all cheaper supermarket stuff.
Welcoming hosts central location large room great breakfast
Staff were pleasant.. Property very tired due for a makeover.
Comfy large bed. Clean room. Helpful staff. Food surprisingly good, wholesome italian for dinner. Amazing gooey chocolate cake with chocolate sauce. Breakfast not fried or greasy, lovely stay.
Andrew the owner was Super friendly and very helpful, the room was bright and airy with high ceilings, the inn was spotlessly clean and well stocked with real ales, whiskeys, Gins etc, and the breakfast was excellent.
From the start to the end of our stay we were impressed. The landlord was very welcoming, showed us to an immaculate room, and invited us to speak to him/any member of staff if we needed anything. In the evening, the inn offered a small restaurant which served Italian food, cooked by a Genoese chef - the food was wonderful! We would happily stay at the Neidpath Inn again if we found ourselves in Peebles in the future.
A little quirky with an American landlord and an Italian chef but very friendly guys that couldn't do enough for us.
Hervorragend!

The only problem we had was the bed was very uncomfortable so for 3 night not a good sleep .
