Lovely clean rooms, excellent customer service. Breakfast was nice too

Perfect little hotel for a coastal getaway. The room was cosy but ideal for a short break. The staff were so friendly and welcoming and the place was spotless. Perfect location in the quieter end of town, but within really easy walking distance to the busy bits. Gorgeous views around the corner overlooking the town, and there's the cliff lift right nearby for the journey back up the hill if you need it.

We had a friendly welcome from Tess, were given our keys to our room. We had room 2 which was a decent size with lovely fleece bedding. The shower was perfect, could do with a shelf for shower gel etc and a few hooks for clothes/ towels. We didn't have breakfast. It's a 15 minute stroll to the town centre with lovely views on route , would definitely recommend.

My room had everything I needed for a comfortable stay and was very clean. The hostess made a point of welcoming me and asking if I needed anything. She was very welcoming

Had a 2 night stay here in August with my daughter during a road trip! Easy to find, warm welcome. Room two floors up - could inform guests of this when booking to avoid any potential issues with mobility. No dedicated parking but managed to find one quite easily and very close on the street outside as advised pre-arrival. Walkable to the front, town centre. Room lovely & clean (though it did smell a little musty & we did find couple of cobwebs and spiders-not great for arachnophobes like us!). The bathroom was modern and very clean but only a net at the window-really needs a blind of some sort. We had twin room - beds very comfortable and warm. Overall, great value, can use Tesco Clubcard points/vouchers here too and would definitely stay again.

Arrived late afternoon, plenty of free on street parking either outside the hotel or across the way. Greeted with a warm welcome. Room on first floor, no lift but the lady did offer to take our bags upstairs, we were fine though. Room beautiful and spotlessly clean, tea/coffee making facilities. Bed very comfortable. Nice bathroom. Hotel is a 5 minute walk to the sea front and a 15/20 minute easy walk to the town. Nice, quiet area. We would definitely use this hotel again.

I really enjoyed my two night stay. Very clean and had everything you need. The owner was lovely. She was helpful and smiley. Would stay again. Great value for money.

Lovely!

We stayed at the Mountview for two nights, we arrived on the Friday afternoon and was able to park using the street parking outside. We were greeted by a lovely lady who couldn't do enough for us, the same lady saw us the next day aswell and again was very pleasant, helpful and polite with a smile on her face all the time! The room was lovely and clean, I think it could do with a paint refresh but that's being picky, it did not make our stay any different. I would say a full length mirror would be nice but again this is just a preference. The bed was comfy but a bit too soft for us but everyone is different and you can't please everyone! I asked if they could do anything for my partners birthday and they put some banners up which was lovely and very thankful for. We didn't have breakfast so cannot comment on that. This is a great place, great price and would recommend and definitely stay again if we visited Scarborough.

Our stay was very good expect the shower which was a bit temperamental. Switching from cold to very hot and back again. Other than that i enjoyed our stay and would stay again

I had the top floor classic double room, with own bathroom. Lovely hotel all together struggled with stairs but other than that thoroughly enjoyed it. Messages were answer straight away, wasnt sure about check out but staff were onsite to help. Walking distance from beach and 5 mins in car to food and all amenities, barely any sound, on street parking can be difficult to park close but there was enough area

Great views of the beach below and surrounding area ideal area for hiking or walking not in town but a pleasant walk to take in the lovely views of Scarborough on the way, is the perfect location

Fantastic stay

My first stay at this hotel and after reading the reviews it certainly lived up to my expectations.it felt clean and well looked after the host was very polite and courteous. My room was a single but was clean with coffee /Tea ..sink and toilet and even though the bathroom was a few metres outside my room I was given a dressing gown to wear when I needed a shower .the dressing gown is complimentary in the room . The bed was extremely comfortable and that makes my stay a lot more enjoyable.as getting a good night's rest I didn't have breakfast but the options there upon your arrival next time I'll definitely have a breakfast as I could smell how delicious it must have been for the other guests . I know the.past 3 or 4 years has been hard in this industry and many hotels have struggled but all I can say about the MountView hotel is that the hosts have just added little touches that makes your stay very enjoyable Well done to all

Great location and wonderful hotel

Greeted on arrival by the lovely sess, we stayed for 2 nights, the room was clean with its own bathroom, its is ideally located for visiting south shore and the town center 10-15 min walk, no complaints at all, we will be using this hotel again.

A bit noisy as it has only single glazing. Shower very small for a larger person. Very clean throughout the room.

Scarborough

Good location. Quite expensive. Disappointed breakfast not included.

For my first time going to Scarborough for holiday, this hotel was cheap compared to the others but it was way better then most others as it had nice people, very good cleaness, certain things like a TV, hearter and etc. Overall, i would say if you want a good hotel to stay at pick this one.

Lovely stay

Really enjoyed our stay at The Mountview. Authentic seaside accommodation. Close to the Spa area of the resort, about 15 mins walk into Scarborough. Clean comfortable rooms. Would recommend to others.

Business trip stay

It was a pleasant stay and the welcome on arrival was much appreciated. The room was comfortable and as I was on business it was mainly just a bed for the night. The tea and coffee facilities in the room were good and plentiful. I would stay here again and despite being next to a main street the room was quiet.

The rooms were lovely and clean. Just wish we could have stayed the 2 nights we booked for but family events made it impossible

Great place with a helpful host. Comfy bed and decent decor. Minor issue with a too hot shower fixed by host. Note parking is on the street.

Nice room but some support services needed

Cons: 1. 9pm no one around and shower is scalding. Telephoned number on email, website and hotel brochure and kept getting cancelled calls (call log available). No showers. 2. Corridor light visible through glass pane above door. Kept triggering all night for no apparent reason disturbing sleep. 3. Thick winter quilt hardly conducive to sleep when only ventilation was from the window (early September). 4. 10am check out a bit harsh when restricted seating prevented us having breakfast in-house. Not really feeling that we are guests just punters. Pro: The single staff was very friendly and helpful and couldn’t do enough for us when we arrived. Pity she wasn’t on-site when needed.
