A good sized gym with plenty of equipment. The Staff were cheerful and helpful. The food is really nice. Ive stayed here twice for work now and will definately stay again if im in the area.
Great staff
Location of hotel is lovely. Great for exploring Hayling Island and nearby area. Condition of the hotel is a little tired but we understand that an updating programme is in progress. Rooms were a good size and well equipped. Bathrooms could do with updating. Staff were fantastic - could not do enough to help.
Incredible value, excellent hotel, perfect location
Great food
Great value Love this hotel 😊
Good service clear up date thank you
Spot on visit, breakfast selection was perfect and cleanliness of hotel was great. Gym was better then most hotels, as was the swimming pool, sauna and steam room
Langstone Hotel
Light Outside door was broken and not working and because there was no natural light it was relatively dark in that area. Light in bathroom was flickering the whole time until it gave up altogether. They had a Dyson fan for the heating system which kicked in and out and was LOUD so every time it kicked back in it woke you up. The shower soap dispenser was knackered so you had to remove the soap from the dispenser unit to be able to use the plunger to pump the soap out.
Only stayed one night staff excellent breakfast excellent accommodation excellent..
Relaxing night away
Lovely location, friendly staff. We really enjoyed the quietness of the location and the spa. Food in the restaurant was really good.
Overall great. Carpark lines and outside landscaping needs love and attention.
Overall good stay, but Jacuzzi was not working.
Room was spacious and a good spec. Pool area is in need of a revamp. They have started but did mean the jacuzzi was out of bounds and was much colder than the rest of the hotel.
Nice hotel and good location for exploring Southampton, Portsmouth’s and surrounding area.
Hot water not working
Hot water was not working in the moring, the central heating does not work, instead there are pugged in heaters which are noisy. Not the best stay
Great stay
Could do with work
The property in some places could do with refurbishment. There was a fan heater in the room as the radiators were not working. This seems to be a permanent fixture as it was hard wired in. The pool had the jacuzzi out of action, which from reading reviews seems to have been for quite some time.
Freezing cold hotel
All staff was friendly & very helpful food was very good so can’t fault any of that But the Hotel was extremely very cold where we were having to keep coats on when in public areas ie:lounge dining/bar areas they put fan heaters in the rooms for heating We were not told any of this when we checked into the hotel & no compensation was even offed to us the pool was also freezing and we were told by another guest that the sauna wasn’t warming either
Great location for the marina unfortunately they have an issue with the central and were using fan heaters to heat the rooms so quiet noisy and results in very dry air great parking and easy access
Great place if you want to escape. Breakfast is great. Would come back
Great getaway escape
Staff marvellous we were very well looked after especially by LJ, thank you. Pool lovely and warm sauna and steam room great. Breakfast was as good as normal as this is our 5th visit. Lovely site great views.
Hot and Cold!
Older style event/wedding type hotel right on the north of the island. Location was a bit out on its own and access on foot was down a windy, unlit road with no pavement and a fair bit of traffic. It was a bit scary navigating our way home in the dark! Room was spacious but very cold, with just a dyson type heater. The bed very comfortable but the bathroom was freezing and the water was lukewarm at best and the light started flashing which was annoying. Reported to reception on check out. The hotel corridors were also very cold, not helped by a fire exit door being held open with a stone! Not sure that’s is allowed! Pool was very nice but water temperature was way too hot for swimming, no wonder the room water was cold all the hot water obviously used for the pool 😂 Breakfast was tasty and plentiful, although hardly any staff and those there seemed unsure where things were kept so there was a bit of a hunt for cereal bowls and serving spoons! Food it’s self was good quality and lots of choice on offer. It was just a quick stop over for us so we could get an early ferry so it did the job but would not rush to stay here again.
Excellent staff and facilities. Breakfast amazing. Shame about bathroom- needs updating urgently. Bedroom a bit tatty. Would still stay again as communal rooms and staff 5*
Just ok!
Check in was good, our room was quite close to the main facilities and reception appearance was good. Our room was spacious, but 1 of the beds had torn bed sheets and the bin in the shower room was damaged. We were given a list on check in saying we could use the pool at 9am, the children were really excited and this was the main reason for booking at this hotel over others and when we arrived at the pool we were told we couldnt use the pool until 10am (even though check out is at 11am). Our overall experience was only ok and we wouldnt return, we have stayed in 3 star hotels better than this!
Dated, rude staff is only 2 star facilities
This is not a 4 star hotel it’s barely a 2 in desperate need of refurbishment the bathroom was dated and not the best the room was heated with a fan heater which was noisy. The staff were extremely rude and closed the bar early and refused to serve residents other than in their rooms, completely ruined our annual Christmas get together, we shall not be returning!
Great value for money staff are very competent
Needs investment
There was no Hot water on the first night. The spa and pool seen better days. Needs complete revamping.
Don’t ask for a marina view room it’s the car park more like property getting tired and needs a bit of an update but the food was lovely
Very comfortable room and good facilities
Left early
Cleanliness of my room was really poor. Mould in the bathroom, shower head disgusting and hairs from the previous guest found on the toilet. Heating didn't work No coffee in my room
Easy free parking, waterside location, nice room, good breakfast, good access to South Downs and coast. The only thing I would suggest to improve is that swimming pool water is hot, comfortable for old people getting in but makes actual swimming for exercise sluggish.
Always staying there when I'm working in the area. Spot on
Great place to stay
Langstone Quays is a lovely place to stay. My only complaints with my room was poor signal on the wifi and some mold on the ceiling in the shower. The pool is adequate however the hot tub was out of order unfortunately. The steam room was immaculately clean which was a huge bonus. The breakfast was good quality although slighly limited for options as a vegetarian. I have stayed there twice now and would happily stay again if I was headed to that part of the country.
Excellent breakfast choices. Convenient for Hayling island and Portsmouth is a short drive
Nice place. Very relaxing. We enjoyed a relaxing couple of days.
Ensure food is fully cooked.
Lovely view of the creek
Hotel and room clean .. bath slip pads need to be changed as a little bit marked, bed comfortable .. lovely view of the creek .. very staff and lovely fish and chips
We love this hotel but once again, the staff were lacking any personality. The sauna wasnt working properly and the jacuzzi was out of order.
It was a very enjoyable and pleasant stay - I stayed two nights for a wedding - the event was well organised and went smoothly The gym is well equipped and clean Just one teeny tiny criticism- the air vents in the bathroom of my room and the two other rooms I visited were a bit dusty
Out dated room and decor
Lovely location prefer bigger towels
Love it..
Always stay here every time i visit Chichester
Stayed 1 night, September 2024. Quite isolated, not easy to find. Very quiet, tranquil surroundings. Impressive exterior and lobby. Reasonably priced. Standard breakfast, self service. Bathroom not clean. Tub was worn, falling apart in places. Very small space to shower, and nowhere to store toiletries. Central heating has been replaced with air heaters, which are effective but noisy. Hotel could use a revamp.
The building looks a bit run down from the outside/car park area but inside was lovely. The pool area could do with a re-vamp.
Room needed updating loud music being played at 7 in morning pillows to thin.soap bottles in bathroom needed cleaning dirty plug hole in bath
Mould on the bathroom ceiling. Room is dated and needs an update.
The room was as expected but not value for money as the carpet was badly stained in the door way . Hope it was from a spilt coffee as it was brown ,stains right infont of bathroom near door . Did report it but nothing could be done . ?? Shower leaked had water running from bath to toilet, seal must've gone around the bath. Breakfast was good , but evening meal was a little overpriced and not a huge choice . A little extreme for deserts at nearly £10.
Setting is lovely with views of the bay. The rooms were a bit dated and the pillows were lumpy.
It was a slightly rundown but in most ways very good hotel. The bed was nice and the room was very clean. The bathroom rather let it down with an old amd stained shower over the bath. Otherwise I have no complaints.
We had a lovely stay here, some areas could do with a touch up here and there but our room was clean and warm and the bed very comfy. The food was delicious (breakfast especially) and the staff all very helpful and friendly. Would definitely come again.
No toilet brushes in rooms. Club facilities excellent although changing room showers are a little run down. Breakfast sausages - fabulous! Will surely return next year.
It was our first time & it was not a good start. I booked for a superior room with multiple beds: 1 single & 1 double bed, as in photos over on Expedia. Upon arrival, entering our room, it was the wrong room (just a double bed). Had to wait 20mins to check another room. Spent more than an hour in total to agree on the final room which IS STILL NOT WHAT I PAID FOR. The proper room was on first floor but no lift. It was inconvenience as I have mobility issues. The only room they can offer was same floor but the single bed size IS THE SMALL single bed like a child's one & not the proper single bed & double bed I paid for. I also thought the single bed was next to toilet so, the male staff had kindly & physically moved the 2 beds around. I suggest the hotel figure a way to avoid this as it wasted our time, our energy walking distances to the other rooms etc. Hotel could have prevented that if the booking and information about rooms were ACCURATE.
Good gym for a hotel with a pool. So of the rooms were a little tired.
Loved the location, past reviews made it sound like a great place to stay and room was given a high review. In reality, the room was very tired and dated, no fridge. The bathroom didn't function properly with the drains completely blocked, so couldn't use. Limescale buildup in the kettle showed lack of attention to detail for their customers. On the other hand, the breakfast was one of the best we have had on our travels so far, and the reception staff were very attentive.
I had shower on dark. No electricity. No lights. Been reported at reception but no one come to help us. The room at night very cold , heating wasn’t the best when you stay in with a kid. The Dyson wasn’t enough for all the room to get heated. Apart from this issue we were welcome ed by staff. Friendly. My son loved the swimming pool. I will not be back because I want to come to a well heated room as we are in England always cold. Really nice place but needs some comfort for kids , warm rooms , and electricity to work, to have lights to take a shower
Very Dated property for room quality and access. Bar and restaurant very good and staff very good
Bedrooms are in need of upgrade as looking tired and worn - especially for the rate paid per night
Room very noisy. When booking do do stay in room 115. Cleanliness poor, hotel very tied , pillows hard, and worn out,
Had a nice stay easy check in and polite staff. Pool and Jacuzzi looking a bit tired though
Lovely hotel to stay in and great size rooms. Pool area could do with upgrade as lot broken tiles and mould build up in shower rooms.
Disappointed
We have stayed at this hotel before and it appears a bit run down in standards since our last visit. We were there for two nights. We had two complaints > First > On our return to the hotel on our first evening (around 9:30pm) we tried to use the hotel toilets (opposite reception) out of the 6 or 7 toilets > 3 were out of action / not in use and one toilet was in a terrible state. We complained to the Reception and were told that the cleaner had left at 9:30pm. We gave in and went up to our room to use the WC their. Our second complaint was when we returned to our hotel room around 9:00pm. Our room had not been made up beyond the cover roughly thrown over the bed. Our morning wet towels had been left wet in and over the side of the bath. We complained and the duty manger came up and agreed the room had not been left in the standard expected. We were given two dry towels (the wet towels were left as before!) + we were given a toilet roll as this had not been replaced. Overall our expectations had been badly let down.
The property had all the amenities we required and a pool for the rainy days which suited my grand daughter. The breakfast was excellent. The dinner was a little rich for my personal liking. My daughter has had a recent leg injury and there was no lift and quite a long way to walk which was a shortfall and I would think would be difficult for other guests with disabilities? But apart from that, the hotel made a good jumping off point for touring Hayling Island.
The checking in was awful. Too few staff and everybody turned up at 3p.m. No check in was allowed before that. It was around 4.30p.m. before we could check in. Nightmare.
Needs work
Lovely location, just on the tip of the island. I would describe the hotel as tired and in need of a spruce. Found the staff to be a bit mardy apart from check in and check out. Breakfast was a disappointment, we felt like we were back in the 70s, poor choice and what tastes like powdered fruit juice.
Love this hotel and staying not a first time. It could do with at least a bathroom upgrade as bath was chipped and sink had a big crack in it. The girls on reception were great, though nobody asked me on departure how our stay was. On arrival lady offered my little girls a bucket and spade for the sand ,and they managed to change my room type to a triple as it wasnt available when ive made a booking. Really appeeciate this, room was big, windows open and leasure facilities are great here
Just a little problem hair over bath room floor but cleaned up quickly, staff on the ball top up tea , coffee in room just a enjoyable stay
WE had a lovely time with this hotel as a base. The pool was lovely for my granddaughter particularly on the rainy day. Thank you.
Not a bad but dated property, only hotel I’ve stayed at in the past 12 months that still charges you £1 as a holding fee… Room was ok, remote for fan didn’t work, window lock not in place so if left open someone could very easily climb through (we were on the ground floor), cobweb in the bathroom and shampoo holder broken. Light above bed didn’t have the spotlight and you could easily move the fixing plate which had live wires behind. The staff had to deal with a problem couple which they handled very well.
Check in took over 1 hour, long que
Review of hotel stay -19th August
The staff in all areas were very friendly and helpful, including reception, housekeeping and restaurant. The restaurant itself was very lovely and the food was excellent. Our room, however, was looking a little tired and in need of a makeover as was certain other parts of the hotel. Our one night stay was also somewhat blighted by a drugs raid by the police on the room next door to ours. This happened at around midnight and was rather scary, especially for my 15 year old daughter who I was staying with. I do think that perhaps an explanation/apology from the reception staff when we checked out would have gone a long way. As a result of this, we had little or no sleep.
Chose it for access to beaches on Hayling Island. Comfy beds, large quiet room, windows open properly so nice and airy with trees outside. Good buffet breakfast. Nice warm pool with adults-only times appreciated. Useful info welcome sheet. But slooooow unhelpful checkin.
Staff often seem overstretched but cheerful nevertheless Menu can be limited
Breakfast very slow
The bar was excellent!
We enjoyed our stay. Nice room, nice food.
Great for business or family stay
Quick & easy check in Reception staff very attentive Nice location with easy access (short drive) to Chichester & The Witterings. Recommended
Short break
Staff excellent, breakfast good, room clean. One point I booked a harbour view room and basically it was a view of the car park. Reception changed my room to a view of a small inlet. The gentleman on reception was excellent and I’m sure he has been challenged on this before.
Nice area, lovely views but only on one side of the hotel if you are lucky to get an odd numbered room, otherwise your view like ours is a carpark! There is no air con so room is stiffling at night need fans on. The hotel.reception.and bar areas are nicely decorated and breakfast was nice, good quality. Didnt use the pool or gym.but looked nice Felt was reasonable but was disappointed in heat in room and lack of nice vuews as paid £300 for 2 adults for 2 nights Nice but wouldnt return
Rooms don’t look like photos
Reception staff were great and extremely helpful. Bar & restaurant staff not great, service very slow (we ended up clearing our own plates after 45mins) and some (not all the odd one was lovely) staff didn’t seem to want to be there and we felt like an inconvenience. Location great. We had 3 rooms for 2 nights and an additional room for 2 night
Needs updating
Room was ok but bathroom was in a poor condition with a cracked sink , mould around taps and rusty shower curtain rings and again, mould of shower curtain. However, the setting is lovely and if you can catch the sunset it kind of makes up for it but wouldn’t rush back
Nice but tired
Nice but tired, especially the swimming pool, gym was useful but soooo hot that you couldn’t use it, it, like the rooms desperately needs air con
Very basic accommodation
Not impressed, very basic accommodation not worth the money spent.
Would give it zero stars if i could. Our room was filthy, the shower curtain covered in mould. Ive never felt dirtier coming out of a shower before. The "harbour view" we paid for was actually a view of the car park. Went to the swimming pool. Had to leave after 10 minutes as there were all sorts of debris floating around. Avoid at all costs
Langstone Quays Resort is in a great location - just over the bridge onto Hayling Island with plenty of parking and a short walk to lovely tearooms and coastal walks. The bathrooms are dated and the fabric shower curtain needs to be replaced. It would be nice to have bathrobes and slippers in the room so you can go down to the spa ready for action! There's no air-conditioning and the rooms are boiling (even when the weather isn't). There were two fans provided in the room and we needed both on the entire time we were in the room, awake and asleep. The hotel is large and on two floors - there's no lift. If you need help with your luggage you have to ask, nobody will offer! The buffet breakfast has everything you want to start your day off, plus you can order vegetarian sausages and poached eggs. There are staff in abundance but none of them are proactive, so you have to ask every time any of the food choices need replenishing. The evening meal was very tasty - and very tiny and very expensive! Again, plenty of staff but slow, disinterested service. I would definitely stay again for the location, and hope that the staff are more proactive next time and the small changes I've mentioned have been acted upon.
Excellent quality food in the restaurant for both dinner and breakfast. Great location. Quick checkin.
Good location. They. Need to do some upkeep
Love this little gem
The service was impeccable. The food was delicious. The location was gorgeous.if I had to pick one thing to “moan about”, it would that the pillows need an upgrade! Would highly recommend x
.
Not good enough, by a long way.
The room was no where near what the picture on the website showed, the shower had black mould in the corners, and the curtain was so poorly installed it clung to me during my shower. There was a large food stain on the floor. The hallways were grubby and scuffed. Sound was not adequately suppressed between rooms. The bed was comfortable. That was a £70 hotel room I paid £234 for. Very 'Budget".
They need to do better job on dining
One night stopover
Only there for one night but was was comfortable and had what we needed. Liked the fact that there were 2 fans in the room and one was a Dyson cooling type fan, which was very welcome as it was a hot day. We were near the Health Club which was a bit noisy but kept the windows closed and that helped. Not much of a view from the window. Lot of corridors to walk down, though we managed to park the car near our room to load and unload and used a door which was open during the day, but would probably have been locked at night.
In a room overlooking the extractor fans which were very noisy all night. Would have given feedback on reception when I checked out at 7.20 but it was unmanned.
Great hotel on Hayling island
Great stay and lovely breakfast included.
Very comfortable lovely stay, so quiet. Was surprised that there were no complimentary biscuits with the tea and coffee sachets in the room.
The club house was a bonus, though the jacuzzi was out of order during my stay. Most of the staff are very warm, caring and helpful.
The property is in a great location and clearly it was fabulous hotel in it's hay day. Unfortunately the property needs quite a lot of upgrades to be restored to its former glory
Questionable condition
Overall condition of the hotel was OK but paintwork and carpets need to be better. The service was pretty good and the staff were always very helpful.
Food overpriced, spa facilities did not meet expectations as shown on line, hot tub not working and deep clean happening whilst trying to relax in the pool and steam room. Staff were friendly, helpful and very relaxed. The rooms met our needs with all facilities provided.
We stayed at the hotel for three days to visit the attractions in the surrounding area. Our room that overlooked the harbour, was comfortable and clean. The reception staff were very helpful and welcoming. Breakfast offered a variety of foods from cereal and continental choices to full English cooked breakfast. We would certainly stay again if we were in the area.

Great hotel
Great location, lovely large rooms and pleasant staff
