Fridge did not work in the room, Facily needs a good deep clean.

Very dirty and u kept. Very unhappy staff who were voicing their anger at being the only ones there shuttle and help people.

Ny third time in this hotel. Super nice. Very close to airport. Beautiful views of the Lake. Great pictures throughout the hotel.

The restaurant was wonderful including the staff but no water at check in even though the paperwork they gave us said it was included and waters were in the cooler by the front desk. We had to purchase them. Also we had to ask about the breakfast that was included with our reservation. If we had not asked it would not have been given out. I have stayed here for fifteen years and it was very disappointing. Other than the restaurant of course which I would give five stars. I don’t think I will be back

This was my second time staying here, and will stay again during my layover.

Watching the planes fly in and out on the lake was very cool to see. The dining is fantastic. Locals actually drive to the hotel for dinner. Its that good…..

I waited until after 4.00 for a clean room to be ready. I was given a food & beverage credit for $10.00 which I used in the restaurant, I was expecting this to be $25.00 as mentioned in the question above.

Bug Friends Under Pillow

Can tell it used to be a decent hotel, I like the art and decor. However, the hall carpet is the dustiest I've EVER seen. The room carpet was better but not great. Found a live carpet beetle larva under my pillow. Room design was kind of neat. Air conditioner worked. Fortunately no bedbugs, I checked the mattresses.

The hotel staff was friendly & helpful. The breakfast buffet was delicious. The bar/restraint was great for outside & inside viewing of the planes on water and great atmosphere. The hotel was convenient location

When I checkrd in they took my credit card for incidentals. When I checked my credit card statement, they had charged me full price for the room after I had already paid through Travelocity. I brought it to the attention of the front desk and they told me there was a computer glitch. I will check tomorrow to see if I have received a credit..

This hotel is pretty rundown. Definitely needs some updating. Grounds were not well maintained. Carpets need to be cleaned in the hallways. They were in the process of replacing some wallpaper and there was a terrible chemical smell. The neighborhood is not great either. There’s a marijuana dispensary directly across the street, a park just up the street that seems to be filled with homeless/people that appear to be under the influence.

Do not eat st the restaurant

The staff was excellent. Especially MJ and Mary. Super courteous at 4am and good sense of humor.

The lady at the front desk was kind and efficient. The rooms are great by Anchorage standards.

Not a great value

Very dated and not in great condition. Refrigerator was broken and toilet didn’t flush well. Bathtub drain was clogged but they serviced it when we asked. The restaurants pad good food and nice servers but was very slow. VERY slow. Need 90 minutes for breakfast three mornings and was told they didn’t have enjoy help. Great location tho with the airport nearby and the boat planes taking off. Overall it was extremely over priced. Five star cost, two star accommodations.

Did not clean room every day

There were cobwebs in the corners, fruit chews and other dirt on the floor where you could tell it had not been vacuumed. Tried to do dinner at the restaurant, called ahead of turn to confirm when they stopped serving. Got there an hour before cutoff. Tried to order 3 different things on the menu and they did not have any of them. Settled on a soda, lemonade. Margarita and app. Never got the margarita and had to ask for the coke and lemonade twice.

No free coffee or tea. I reserved the room weeks in advance and online checked in several days before but when I arrived at the hotel I was provided a room with no view - was told that that’s all that was left at that late hour. I should have had my room reserved when I online checked in - else why bother to do It? It only saves a few minutes at the time of check in but it took me a lot longer prior to fill in the 4 pages and take photos of my DL and enter my Cc info. Also, there was no mention in the lobby of the rich dog sled history that brought me to the hotel. Finally, I requested clean towels one evening and it took over a hour to get them delivered and 2 phone calls to get them done. All and all, average is all I can say. It was the least impressive of the 5 hotels I stayed in during this trip.

This is a classic historical hotel they has been around over 100 years. The Iditarod is connected to this beautiful hotel on the lake. Unfortunately the hotel is very dated. The carpets and hallways are worn and look dirty . The walls are dirty and the restaurant is also very old. I Hope they can do something to update this beautiful hotel.

Great as always

We asked for an early check in and were charged an extra $50 even though our room was in a floor where the halls were undergoing repainting with the expected smells. When my husband tried to take a shower the shower knob wouldn’t pull up do he ended up taking a sponge bath until I could go downstairs to request maintenance as the hotel phone was constantly busy. I also noticed two pending charges for $100 on my visa not one fortunately both were reversed after checkout. The only redeeming feature was the excellent pub on the ground floor.

Sink and tub drained very slowly. Toilet did not flush properly (took several attempts). Window crank broken; had to remove screen and manually pull it closed. One light fixture (by door) broken: push button broken.

Great stay

Comfortable bed, clean rooms and restrooms. The facility seemed well maintained too. Friendly staff as well. Located by the airport for convenience.

Convenient pick up and drop off

The room was did not live to the pictures. I was not given the food vouchers upon check in. The check in clerk was inept and not welcoming. The food (I only had breakfast) was not memorable. I expected higher for the rate I paid. I was totally disappointed.

Chris at the front desk was great and at the Flying machine our hostess Rita was wonderful . The problem I had was since I went through Expedia to make reservations we had a set price per night and we decided one more night and the manager at the front desk would not give us the same price, so I called Expedia and they would not either so I had to pay also double for one night .

Nice staff, good value hotel

The lodge was very convenient to airport. The lobby is dated but clean, the staff courteous and friendly. 4th floor hallway being renovated was visually nasty and we should have been told ahead of time, BUT our room was very clean and spacious, bed very comfortable and sheets crispy clean. Nice hot water for shower, and good complimentary breakfast buffet with friendly service.

Loved being lake side. Check-in was seamless, Beds were comfortable Stayed 3 separate stays/weeks, 2 of 3 rooms the AC did not work and room was 75+ Staff was responsive but curt, no amenities offered like bottled water or coffee. Restaurant hours were limited and PACKED Wouldn't stay again or recommend

This was our second stay here and plan on returning. Staff are courteous and airport shuttle service is excellent. We rented a car and parking is free. Hotel provides vouchers for food discounts at the restaurants. Breakfast buffet is excellent!

We requested a room with a view. When we arrived, we were told there were none available. My wife has a problem walking due to a recent knee injury. We requested a quieter room because ours was noisy, it was right over the parking lot. The desk clerk gave us a room at the other end of the building. A long walk from the elevator.

Average and expensive

Close to the airport with a beautiful view, but trying to reach the staff when we arrived at midnight was horrible. The front desk didnt answer the phone leaving us stranded when we had planned to use the shuttle. We paid for $45.00 for 2 UBER

It was just ok No pool No breakfast Not even a free coffee? I know it’s a prestigious place and all but for the money you don’t get much value. They do offer free bottles of water. Big whoop.

This was my second stay. Staff is great. Room was decent. Our room had a very strong unpleasant odor. Not bad for one night. Very close to the airport.

We like the spacious room and bathroom. The view of the lake was fantastic. Great location.

One Night Stay

Shuttle from airport and to train station was nice. Nice decor, if you like a rustic/hunting theme. Nice to have a restaurant on site. Only wish they had 24/7 coffee, as we had an early train to catch.

In need of a remodel

Was expecting a nicer stay for $500/night. The floor we stayed on had wallpaper ripped down and carpet was old and dirty and the floor smelled bad. Unfriendly staff. Disappointing for the price.

Nice, clean, comfortable

Mostly 4 star but if I have one critique it’s the heat. Room was very warm. Units hav ac but they are loud and I’m a light sleeper so I can’t run the ac at night and the room just heats up very quickly. Your heat in the hotel is way too warm. The temperature on the clock in the lobby said 80 degrees when I checked in.

Lakefront is always my choice of hotels when I stay in anchorage. It's always a wonderful experience and I have to say the staff for breakfast are always so incredibly nice.

Property needs fresh carpets,better lighting in bathroom and room. A/C just blew into the curtains and we too light to leave curtains open. Staff was friendly, especially the breakfast staff

If there was a vip amenity it was not felt. Had to request service for the room just to take out trash and for new towels. Couldn’t get any assistance from front desk on ideas so we just wound up finding our own which turned out great. Overall Alaska was amazing - this place only due to the convenient location was it good

The staff was truly wonderful—kind, hardworking, and doing their best in what I know can be a challenging environment. It was disheartening to see that not all of them were treated with the respect they deserve. As for cleanliness, I did notice a few areas that could’ve used a little more attention. That said, I fully recognize that I might be viewing things through the lens of my own work—I’m a property manager myself and handle everything from housekeeping and front desk to maintenance and bookkeeping in our much smaller, semi-private cabin rentals. I know how tough it can be, especially when you’re up against staffing shortages, which so many of us in tourism-heavy areas are grappling with. The scale of this property is massive compared to ours, and I can only imagine the daily balancing act. I share this with understanding and appreciation, not criticism!!!

This was a bad stay. Two missed wake up calls. The staff was not friendly. The room was outdated and the walls were torn up on our floor. The gym was also closed for renovations

We stayed there after our Alaskan cruise. Checked in 5/12/25. They were in the middle of wallpaper removal on the floor our room was on. The gaps under each room door is about 1” so the dust (toxins?) in the air was just blowing right through the room. Woke up the next day feeling lousy when we got back home I was sick, now battling bronchitis. Also the place generally not clean pillows smelled like Lysol. The pictures of the place look great, must be old pictures because the place seems really rundown now.

Overall, we were pleased with our stay. Being able to watch the float planes takeoff and land was a bonus!

Clean, comfortable, quiet rooms. Minutes away from the airport. I did not enjoy the food in the restaurant.

they are understaffed in the kitchen. The reception desk was not really friendly and the hotel is very dated. I think they’re charging too much for what you get in return!! on a good note the waitresses in the resteraunt were doing everything they could to help the u see staffed kitchen.

At least pretend

I booked third party for three nights. Third party only booked me for two. I had to book a third night. Check out after my second night and and check back in. The guy behind the counter was rude to me and not helpful. Then gave my room to someone else while I was in my room another couple unlocked my door and walked in. Then the same gentleman call my room and demanded me downstairs as if this was my fault. He was extremely rude with me and never apologized for his mistake. Zero customer service. He didn't even pretend that I was a guest who spent three nights there and only eating at their restaurants. Good thing for me is there are lots of other hotels to choose from. I work in Alaska so I use anchorage hotels once month. Bye bye

Bathroom tub is clogged.

Hotel is nice, easy to and from airports and has on site restaurants and bar. We were asked if we wanted housekeeping after 10am, noon, or later. We picked noon but had housekeeping knock on door at 745 one day and 815 another. I asked specifically aboit the gym for our 4 day stay and was told where it was and it was 24 hours, however was NOT told that after the first day, the two separate areas would be closed for refurbishment, so that was disappointing as I pick work hotels with a gym.

So dirty outside. Hallway carpets are gross. Our room was so dusty. Alarm clock didn’t work and TV was disconnected and we needed maintenance. Losing its charm and class!

Good hotel that had the basics I needed for my stay. The airport shuttle was very convenient. When I arrived at the front desk, there was a long line to check in. Staff was friendly, but service was a little slow. The same was true at the on-site restaurant for dinner. The gym is limited—one small room with a few treadmills and another slightly larger room with elliptical machines, dumbbells, and older weight machines.

Unfortunately we were placed on the fourth floor which is undergoing renovations to the hallway. The odor of Sheetrock mud was strong. We are in our 70's and had four suitcases, and our room was at the far far end of this stinky hallway. The room itself was clean and well appointed, but very much needed a maintenance man to spend a day in there. The Fancy Moose restaurant was fantastic, both food and service. The morning buffet in the Flying Machine was understaffed and way overpriced. We booked 8 months in advance and had high hopes for the Lakeside Inn, but overall our stay under delivered.

The hotel was not very crowded which lended to the overall quietness of the hotel in general. Front desk staff at check in were courteous. Furnishing in my room were adequate but a bit worn.

They actually still had coffee in the room. A couple of times we needed things, an extra blanket, more coffee etc. They brought it right away. Very accommodating.

Hot Water was lukewarm at best. Side entrances didn’t operate. Bathroom door wouldn’t stay closed. $4 for a cup of watery diner coffee. Surprise “resort fees” The place has gone downhill a ton in the last decade. It’s dirty, old and nickel and diming. Definitely gonna stop staying here. It used to be THE spot near the airport. Sadly those days are long gone.

Good hotel by the lake but very old and needs complete renovation. The resort fee is stupid! It’s not a resort at all. Dirty old carpets look disgusting.

I cannot say enough good things about this place. The rooms were nice with comfortable beds. The food in the restaurants was excellent. And the staff, the staff Was so accommodating. Everything a visitor would hope for and more. Thank you to the staff of the Lakefront for being sowarm and friendly and helpful. You sure set the bar high for other places to live up to.
