I stayed twice in this hotel. Both time I stayed over a month. Excellent location, no complaints, very good service.
Great place to stay in Shanghai
It is a great place to stay, with ideal location and plenty of eateries close by. The room is large and has a fridge. The gym is large and clean with all necessities.
Only steps away from subway station and Jin An area, with nice shopping and dining options. Staff are friendly and professional.
Good reputation from previous brand (Hilton) but management and conditions are not as good as its previous Hilton. Not worthy of what you paid
Marvelous
The Kunlun Jing An was previously known as the Jing An Hilton. It is the best.
So many dining choices in the area, easy transportation, staffs are polite etc…
Excellent hotel right near the subway and shopping areas
Rooms smelled horrible. Cigarettes were clearly smoked in the non-smoking rooms.
Perfect stay in French Concession
I have been visiting Shanghai for months at a time since 2012. This hotel, which used to be a Hilton, can’t be beat. It is large, luxurious, has good restaurants, plus a little cafe/coffee area with pastries & sandwiches - an excellent gym, spa and pool. Everyone speaks enough English to communicate and are very friendly, and room views spectacular! The location is excellent if you are interested in being in the Jing ‘An and French Concession area. Walking distance to all the top luxury stores & the temple - several other hotels with additional dining options - along with local restaurants. First visit? I always recommend staying at the Hyatt, Peninsula or Waldorf on the Bund first, to get the amazing views and ultimate SH experience. But when you are done with that, you really want to spend a few days based in the French Concession where East meets West - think of it as the SoHo/Village of Shanghai. Lots of music, dining options, small galleries, soooo many coffee places and western food options including Italian, American and Mexican - and French. IAPM Mall also great! For an evening out, go to Heyday Jazz Bar in the Concession for their 9:30pm first set after dinner. You will love it. And if you don’t already know, download Smart Shanghai app. Sort of the Yelp of SH. Look up restaurants, nightlife and more - in English. Have fun! Kunlun Jing ‘An hotel is a great base for your time in The Concession - about 15 min DiDi (Uber) ride from The Bund - due west.
OLD OLD HOTEL
Pretty good
Good service
very comfortable
Great location go everywhere easy. A former Hilton 5 star hotel , now named Kinlun .
The concierge team is super efficient and wonderful. It was a lean team but they deal with the challenges with professionalism. Not only they assisted with my taobao orders, and transportation needs, they also gave excellent suggestions on what i should do
Very close to malls and places to eat. Subway right outside the door. Everything was in good condition and the housecleaning staff were so nice.
Great stay
Excellent location right next to Jingan station and a convenience store. Rooms are very spacious, clean, and comfortable. Staff are very welcoming and helpful. Rates are very reasonable. It was a good stay that we immediately rebooked.
No AC in a hot day at 82F and I was told to open the window to cool down.
I have to say this is a very old hotel that need a major upgrade. We were there in Dec, the hotel room was very hot, the AC was not every hotel. We felt like stay in a sauna room every single day. The room was very clean, bathe room ground was dirty. It was not very pleasant to see. Some sneaky customers probably still smoking in the room that cases our room smell like cigarettes due to then central AC. The staff were nice and trying their best. I guess it’s just an old hotel. The moment you go into the hotel lobby you would smell a mixed greasy and fragrant smell. I will not go back again for sure.
Very convenient.
Old shanghai Hilton now is the kunlun. It’s old but well kept up. Some furniture and infrastructure is old but the location is fantastic and the price is right
Well managed with international standard
After staying at another hotel around the corner multiple times, I switched to staying at Kunlun this time. It's better in every way including bigger and quieter rooms. Will be back next time.
Checkin was ultra slow, almost 45 mins. I was told my passport was being copied 3 times! Room was near an elevator and there was a wooshing noise all night.
Customer service at front desk is terrible
Excellent
Bed is very comfortable, had a good night sleep…
I lost my wallet in the hotel. The staff was professional dealing with the problem perfectly.
Best hotel experience in Shanghai so far...
What an amazing stay. Everything was smooth even the communication before arriving. All was set up for us in advance, allowing for free early check in and late check out what was extremely convenient for our babies. Due to Covid they were limitations but everything was sorted giving us a 25% off when using the restaurants of the hotel. Staff very friendly and efficient. And the location of the hotel is perfect. If we visit Jing’ An again we will go again for sure.
Great location, nice staff. but keep in mind, hot tub is only for adults not suitable for children
Great location , although facilities are getting a bit dated. But service is still very good!
Love the KunLun
Fantastic bed and concierge floor was amazing thank you for a perfect night
I wish bathroom has ventilation fan.
First room given had no walk in shower so had to change rooms. Also no spa at the hotel. About two years since change from Hilton & still not found partner for spa?
This is one of my favorite hotels in Shanghai and have stayed in this hotel many times. The hotel was originally a Hilton hotel but its services are even better now! The location is great, a short walking distance to Jingan temple and convenient to other popular sites and shopping centres. The staff at the executive lounge are amazing and provide their very best services, particularly Leo, Joyce and Stella! They are all very well trained, extremely efficient, helpful and friendly! Executive Lounge also provides great food and a spectacular view of Shanghai.
Great place to stay in Shanghai
Everything was wonderful except breakfast buffet was so-so
Kunlun gives Shanghai a bad Name
The Kunlun Hotel was, up until 2 year ago, a Hilton-managed property. The Kunlun Group is owned by the Central Government of China and the service reflects that of an authoritarian state. The illusion of the hotel is that it looks and feels like the old Hilton, but the service culture is now that of what China was like 25 years ago-heartless, uncompromising and caring little about their customer. I would recommend anyone coming to Shanghai to select an internationally-managed brand, because the Kunlun means "cannot" in Chinese
The hotel was spotless! The breakfast buffet provided many options and all delicious. The staff were very helpful and professional. The hotel provided a travel breakfast for an early flight which was truly appreciated and just one sign of their service level.
Good Hotel with great staff
The hotel is newly renovated with pools and a well-equipped gym. The staff are so helpful and caring.
It was one of the best places we have ever stayed. The service was awesome. For good food outside of the hotel turn right when coming out the front door and walk several blocks. Watch for Charlie’s for best burger in Asia, and surrounded by other casual dining.
Great value and good service!
The staff was very nice and helpful. Rooms are clean and comfortable. No toothbrush like most Asian hotels, but it wasn't an inconvenience. I would definitely stay again.
Close to Jingan subway station. Some staffs were really helpful.
good location, all staff are very courtesy, our maid Liu who clean our room is very friendly and she did a good job to clean our room. we will return to stay in this property on our future visit to Shanghai.
Good service.
It's in a great location. The hotel has friendly and helpful staff.
Great location. The property had very good service and helpful staff. Some rooms remolded. Better to stay in an Executive room
Excellent stay at KunLun Jing An
The hotel lobby is impressively beautiful; rebranded from being a Hilton Hotel. I had a high floor (per request) and I appreciated the overall great service and value. The gym facilities are fantastic! It is adequate for a hotel stay. I did not use the pool, but I saw that it was clean. Some fresh fruits, water, and barley tea were available, which were appreciated. Everything was very clean and staff were professional and informative when I asked for direction, etc. The location is great for accessing meal options in nearby walking or cycling distance. The Jing An Temple and Park are amazing especially at night. The Bund is a taxi ride away, too.
Rude bar tender in lobby and no personality!!!
The lobby bar tender was very rude, We ordered two pot of tea, which was 180 yuan( 30 dollars) per order, it only comes with one cup per pot, so we ask for more cups so we can share... he refused to give us extra tea cup, so my nephew has to wash one cup in the lobby Beth room, totally unacceptable behavior for a 4.5 star hotel!!! The air conditioning broken down in one of the evening, the hotel manager Alan was very kind and accommodating, I would give him a five star service!!
Excellent hotel
It is a great place to stay, walking distance to the metro line, shopping and restsurants
Great breakfast. Decent gym. Excellent location for French concession etc.
Issues for heater
Heater is not actually working.
great location walking distance to restaurants and attractions
dated hotel but nice area
fallen into Chinese ownership and you can tell. dated rooms. dated facilities rude staff
Concierge service was great, extremely helpful and friendly. Room was clean, great views too. However the internet/wifi was extremely slow, was tough for me to work online efficiently.
QUITE A NICE HOTEL
Nice peoeple, professional, polite and thoughtful. Room is spacious, facility quite update. Need a to walk 10-15 minutes to get local food. Price is on the high side.
I liked the amenities, location and cleanliness of the hotel.
There was quite a selection for the breakfast. Room was clean. Folded towel was made to different animals by the house keeping personal. Additional baby cot was provided together with the room. Water pressure to the toilet was slightly low. Room was slightly stuffy as air con control was slightly slow to response.
Best of Both Worlds
Formerly Hilton, the first five star hotel in Shanghai, not just for its prime location and convenience. It is really an epitome of East meeting West, where guests of all backgrounds all over the world can indulge and converge. Of special mention is one of the hotel managers, James, and his team, who made my month-long stay super rewarding and memorable. He was insightful in proactively picking up our needs for New Year’s eve arrangements as well as other service oriented considerations. The restaurants are stylish and of quality. Jin Yan on the 39th floor posts unparalleled views of the prestigious financial district all the way up to the Shanghai pearl tower and beyond. Whenever possible, always ask for rooms on higher floors facing Jing’an Temple or the Shanghai Pearl TV Tower. The spa and gym are such an oasis in the bustling city. Staff were constantly wiping down equipment and replenishing beverages and fruits. In a nutshell, it is your home away from home or your office away from office, however you would like to make it.
Great hotel, I am always treated very well by all of the staff and it is one of the best executive floors in all Shanghai
Pros: professional service; nice pool; great location Cons: It looks someone in non smoking room smokes and it adversely and severely affects our hotel room in proximity
Overall a nice hotel in CBD area in Shanghai. Clean and comfortable rooms, helpful And professional staff
Great stay
Great location, very good service. No language barrier. Restaurants are bit pricy compare local restaurants.
Conveniently located in Central Shanghai Puxi area with good subway access, shopping and food. Reasonable priced hotel with 5-star quality and service. Hotel recently upgraded the Internet speed. It is awesome comparing with other hotels with low or terrible speed. The sheets and comforter are very comfortable. The staffs are professional and attentive. We will definitely choose this hotel when we visit Shanghai again.
Great location. Very comfortable but showing its age a little. Excellent value. Used to be Hilton.
Great choice for location, service, comfort
Great location: hotel is within walking distance to nice cafe/restaurants/bars in the former French Concession and to 2 metro stations (access to 4 lines). Service was pretty much faultless, except the concierge wasn't all that useful for travel/food recommendations. Facilities were good, rooms were spacious and clean albeit dated, bathroom amenities were more than adequate.
Kunlun Jing An
Great spa
Good Hotel with Attentive Staff
I had a great stay at Kun Lun Jing An. The staff members were attentive and the club benefits were good. I like the cleanliness of the hotel too, I think it went through a facelift in recent years.
Very nice hotel
Very comfortable
Great spot in great location
Very very good and comfortable
Only the facilities in my is not in proper function. Other than that I have not much complain.
good: bed, food; poor: bathroom is really small even in the executive room; public amenities, i.e. spa and pool are visibly olddated.
Convenient location; helpful staff; comfortable bed; lots of free water! Would stay again
The location was good, you can grab a taxi fairly easily and for about 20-30 RMB you can go practically anywhere in the city. I did not like the fact that I was not given a free upgrade even tho when I booked it says "free upgrade if available" instead they wanted to charge me for the room upgrade which I declined. The worst thing tho I have to say is the showers, the pressure is very low and you practically have to hug the wall to have a proper shower. Other then that the place was nice and comfortable.
Amazing service. the food is great fitness area and pool awesome
Great hospitality, staff quick to address any needs, nice rec facility, would love to stay again
I enjoyed staying at the Kunlun Jian An hotel.
Excellent
Good hotel but needs a refresh.
Good everything
Everything was nice
Nice hotel, great location, friendly staffs, big gym romm with a lot of equipments
I have stayed in this hotel many times. The hotel was until recently a Hilton hotel but nothing has changed! It's still an excellent hotel. The staff at the executive lounge is amazing and provides best service as they were very well trained and extremely efficient. The location is great, a short walking distance to Jingan temple and convenient to popular sites and shopping centres. Overall it was a wonderful stay here again!
Very comfortable and enjoyable stay
Very comfortable and enjoyable stay with friendly service.
Great for a Shanghai business trip
Used to be the Hilton which I have stayed at many times. Was concerned the property would have suffered with the change but the Kunlun was great. A lot of the same staff are still with the hotel. Location is great. Would recommend!
Nice Hotel & Good Location
I only learnt about this after i booked it. The hotel used to be Former Hilton and currently is bought over by Jing Jiang Group in China. Hence, the interior & facilities are good as there used to be from Hilton. Staffs are friendly as check-in counter and able to communicate well in English. T
Recommended for All Travelers
The former Hilton, the Kunlun is part of the Jin Jiang hotel group now. But it remains a great place to stay in the Jing An area.
Not as good as Hilton in services
I have been staying in this property every year to watch the Shanghai Masters. I am a Hilton Honors member and this is the first time I stay here after the change of ownership. I purchased the club deal expecting to be on the club floor near the club. However, I was placed 10 floor below. I guess there is no concept of club floors after the change of ownership.
Everything you expect from a 4+ star hotel.
Great place. Friendly and helpful staff. Internet was fast if you have a VPN. If not, it is like all of china, no google, slow service. Only had one meal in hotel. It was good, but a little over priced.
Reasonable stay in a good hotel
I loved staying in hotel Kunlun Jing An. After some discomfort at the beginning they managed to solve all my problems. The furniture/decoration in the room is a little outdated but the service is outstanding. All staff members are great people, most of them speak good English. They can make all your wishes come true. The hotel is in good location, near to fabulous restaurants and some interesting places to visit. I would recommend this hotel even for a longer stay in Shanghai.
nice hotel great location
nice hotel great location and maybe need renovation in a few years
Great French Concession Stay
Formerly a Hilton, the Kun Lun is an excellent hotel. The rooms are very nice and the service is excellent. It's located within walking distance of great bars and restaurants.
The hotel facility is a bit dated.................
Very comfortable, clean and tidy! Convenient location. Perfect for someone on a business trip.
Great hotel
The staff especially Raymond and he whole concierge team is the best in shanghai Rooms and service are fantastic
Nice hotel with nice staff, which makes me comfort and satisfied. And the location is great, 5mins walking to Jingan temple and closed to shopping centres.Overall was a nice stay here!
The location is good. I requested to extend my check out time to 2:00 PM and the front desk confirmed right away. Hotel service is very good. I will come back next time.
Area Jingan temple
This hotel was previous Hilton Shanghai Most of Hilton staff still there, excellent service by all staff, everyone spoke English , even the Ladies who made up the rooms The Breakfast was perfect, possibly better than the Hilton We purchased at the front desk on check in an upgrade, which included lounge upstairs, and drinks Free of charge, with good pre dinner snacks, excellent I recommend all to do this We will be back, well done new managers of this Hotel Also Big thankyou to reception ladies who helped me get extra double charges back from another hotel the week before, we were getting charged double , triple charges on our credit card, she went in to bat on my behalf, all charges were pretty instantly refunded back.
Good location value for money
All are ok , up to four stars hotel standard ! But one suggestion, the TV are too old , the TV signal are weak !
Nice hotel, clean and convenient to popular sites.
Best service, best location and best executive lounge spread and experience.
Great people, great room fantastic bed.
