Like this place, will stop there again)
Beautiful hotel with great services. Surely gonna stay there again next time.
Like having the bar eating place close and Plenty of parking space for a trailer.
I ordered dinner and the restaurant wasn’t open, so I was still charged. You should make sure your website doesn’t allow people to order when the restaurant isn’t open. Hot tub is GROSS and needs service badly. Temperature definitely is not as warm as it says, either.
Nice room, but.
Staff was very nice, room was clean and if I was to complain about anything its that the fireplace didnt work after the first hour of a 2 day stay. I paid extra for it, so it does annoy me that nobody could address it during my stay.
pros: location, bar/restaurant good, large room, lovely view, great TV, plenty of towels. cons: bathroom old and dirty. Asked for cleaning and it was done, but the tub and bathroom floor are old and still appear dirty. Needs an update!
Beautiful place
Long weekend getaway and this place is beautiful! Can’t wait until next year!
This was a great hotel! The bar was perfect and lots of other amenities like the hot tub, sauna, outdoor area, and vending. The room had a balcony with a great view. Bed was soft with great linens. I liked the soaps and shampoos in the room. The room itself was very spacious with lots of room to sit and get dressed for snowmobiling. Walk to the rental shops. I will definitely stay there again!
Very cozy hotel !!!
We loved the place. Rooms are very cozy wood cabin look.
Had work in the area stayed one night. Will stay here again.
Great hotel with on-site restaurant
The Gateway Inn is a great hotel in Grand Lake with comfortable rooms, and a restaurant/bar on-site with good food and awesome waitstaff. After playing outside in the cold all day, it is really nice to get to the hotel, change into some comfy clothes and go to the restaurant for dinner and drinks.
Great place to stay
The staff are welcoming and professional. The facility is clean and maintained.
Every time I visit up there, the staff is always awesome!
Me gusto la atencion en reception, las instalaciones y la limpieza del Lugar. Pero lo que mas me gusta fue la Vista a las montañas!
Good clean place to stay. Room was spacious. Restaurant and bar onsite
The place is very nice but the website said free breakfast and they tell you the next day that they only serve breakfast on weekends. I dont understand why they won't post that.
Great
Great
Hot tub was a disappointment in the winter. Only at 90 degrees and no way to adjust. Would likely have stayed elsewhere if I had known this ahead of time.
Spacious room with a Great Lake & Mountain Vie
We stayed in the hotel for 3 nights, beds were confortable, room was very spacious and with a great mountain & lake view and the restaurant in hotel was a plus. We had a great time because we got the pleasure to meet Morgan the singer that played for 2 nights she plays the guitar and sings so beautiful she’s super friendly and very funny!! Overall a great stay.
Neat hotel. Nice view of the lake. Loved the fireplace in our room.
When I got here after 9, the front desk had to call to have someone check me in. I waited for 15 minutes and some kid finally came to the desk with his mouth full of food (he also plays video games in plain sight at the reception area). There was a note on my paper to collect payment (even though I had already paid and he said my payment was declined, which it was not and I showed him proof of an email receipt). My room has no heat. The parking lot is so icy, I cannot understand why you can’t have better snow/ice removal. My first two stays were better. I think the young man at the front desk needs training and basic customer service etiquette.
First night in a room with a broken down bed and intermittent water draining noise all night. Unsatisfactory! Asked to be moved and got a great room. Nice people.
Very beautiful rooms and very comfortable
Lovely surroundings. Basic but clean and spacious room.
This is my 4th stay here and I have always felt welcome. Granted, Grand Lake is not a metropolis, which makes it easy to get around town --- But that's why we leave the big city and flock to these awesome destinations. I will be coming back.
Our stay at the Gateway Inn was pleasant. The Inn was decorated with iconic Western decor. Quaint and cozy. The room was clean. We had trouble getting a consistent room temperature. Too hot and then too cold. All in all our stay was good! I hope to return.
This was an amazing place and wonderful place to stay. The décor was beautiful and the customer service was wonderful and accommodating to our needs.
Great hotel
Lovely hotel with fantastic staff. Room was very big with lots of amenities. Only downside was the breakfast restaurant is shut for the season.
I stayed at this property in early Nov 2024 when I wanted to visit Rocky Mountain NP. However I quickly realized that highway 34 was closed till May 2025 so I had to shorten my stay. So I called Gateway directly asking for postponing my arrival by one day. Dorothy was very kind in granting my wish (Thank you!). After arrival, I was very happy with my room (especially with wooden furniture and cabin style bedding, and a balcony). The in-house dinning was very affordable too. I'm glad that I chose Gateway for my stay!
Nice area. Beautiful views
Very clean. Very friendly staff. Beautiful settling.
Seriously think about staying here!
We were welcomed and checked in quickly and efficiently by a friendly Logan. The room as comfortable and cozy and had all the amenities we could need. The beds were really comfortable, the room quiet, and the hotel spotless.
This is by far the funnest place to stay when up at Grand Lake! Everyone is very friendly!
good place
Comfortable stay! Absolutely loved it
The room was excellent.
Pleasant visit
This hotel offered one of the most comfortable beds that I've slept in in years. My room was very spacious, clean and comfortable. The amenities were nice. The staff was hit or miss. The view was lovely. I came towards the end of the season so things were slowing down, but Grand Lake and the Gateway have a cozy feel. I hope to return and recommend you visit
Nice hotel if youre on the second floor away from
First night was in different room and was on 1st floor. Very noisy people above and bed was very hard and uncomfortable. We have another roo. On the second night due to separate reservations. Bed was very comfortable and room quiet due to it being on the second floor and away from noisy areas. Decor is beautiful. Hotel very nice. Most of employess ver nice. One kid at desk first day was kind of rude and not helpful. Grounds, hot tub and deck outside bar and restaurant very nice. View if lake a plus. Breakfast good but for the extra charge and price it should have included the bacon or sausage also and atleast coffee. No drinks were included. All and all a nice place to stay. Wold stay again as long as we were on the second floor and away fromm noisy areas.
Not the place to go if your looking for a quiet night. If you're staying on the 1st floor hope, your upstairs neighbor(s) are sleepy unless you want to hear them all night.
Great stay
One night stay at the hotel, found it to be comfortable and great value for money. TV wasn’t working but the tech guy fixed it fast.
This was a great place to stay! the staff is awesome and the atmosphere is really inviting. The rooms were great and probably the most comfortable bed we have slept in. Would def. recommend to anyone looking for a place to stay in grand Lake. Plus the view is legit!
Beautiful place! My only critique would be that the walls were a little thin amd i could hear people coughing in the next room at night.
Clean !
Good location
Good location (few minutes to NP gate, close to town and lake) reasonable price, big room, breakfast excluded.
Great place to stay! Beautiful rooms and close to a lot of greath stuff in grand lake. My only complaint would be the thin walls. When someone in the next room coughs it sounds like they are in your room
Visiting Rocky Mountain Park
Extremely close to Rocky Mountain Park. Service was awesome Extremely clean
Grest
Grand Lake Gem
Property was clean and comfortable. beautiful location.
Hidden Gem in Grand Lake
One night stay on the way to the Rocky Mountains NP. Great hotel at a good price. We loved the natural log furniture. We would definitely stay here again.
Great place with wonderful views, minutes from Rocky Mountain Park entrance. Has a pull over area that is great for star gazing. The Italian restaurant downstairs was quite tasty and service wonderful.
Fall colors
We enjoyed the Gateway, particularly sitting out on the huge porch looking over Grand Lake and the autumn colors in the sun. The woman at the check-in desk was especially pleasant in welcoming us and asking us if we had any questions.
Beautiful lodge at the base of Rocky Mountain National Park! Loved it!
Very uncomfortable mattress
The mattress was very uncomfortable and we had difficult time sleepy and my back and legs were sore for 3 days. As a proper run business no reason the mattress cannot be updated especially for the price you charged us. I would appreciate if someone could call me next week regarding this stay
During a busy time hiking around Colorado, this was a welcomed comfortable stop. Great room, clean, spacious and a wonderful bed. I would highly recommend this hotel on your trek. Thank you!
The restraunt was closed for a party but we where not informed even the the prior. Not one thing was displayed yet I was charged as if everything in the hotel was available
Friendly staff
Good room. Not enough plugs. Restaurant was closed to guests. I think it was a private party.
Loved the furnishings in the room. Were made of very heavy pine. Convenient to downtown
I am so glad I chose this hotel for a last minute getaway to Grand Lake! My room was wonderful. The property has a wonderful space overlooking the lake where locals seem to gather for poker and football games. It’s not loud however. I enjoyed it very much. I will be back.
Beautiful view from our balcony! The onsite restaurants had excellent food and service. And amazing daily housekeeping!!
We reached late and found good veggie food options downstairs. Restaurant staff was really friendly and accommodated multiple modifications.
Just ok
The fireplace in our room did not work and the room was just ok. Shower pressure and curtain situation was awful, bathroom was not that clean. Room was mostly clean, although there was hair all over the floor and quilt from the previous room occupants.
Great place to stay! Very clean in a scenic part of Rocky Mountain National Park. Breakfast was good in the restaurant. Night we checked in enjoyed firepit table on the bar’s balconey. Drinks and pizza were very good!
We absolutely enjoyed out time here. Loved the deck and that there was a live band on Sunday evening! Definitely would stay again.
Comfortable and cute!
Nice stay
Very comfortable. A nice stay.
Price was it was expensive which didn’t include breakfast. The individual at reception desk wasn’t helpful at all.
The front desk kid was a punk and had a bad attitude. All the rest was great. We had a problem with the smell of the deodorizers housekeeping sprayed in the room. I talked to the young man at the front desk. Obviously he made no effort to tell housekeeping. The next day, the odor was stronger.
We really liked our stay at this property. The rooms are very cute and overall the hotel in really good shape. The bed was nice and comfy too. The only knock I would have is all the propane tanks on the very cute outside lower common areas were empty and no one really wanted to do anything about it. The restaurant and deck on the main level are very nice.
Very clean and comfortable
The property was clean, quiet and close to town. The restaurant on site was a little disappointing. Be aware that all the restaurants on property and in town close a couple of days each week. Last comment, don’t waist your time and money at Rockies restaurant. Horrible food and maybe the most expensive restaurant in town.
Not worth the 250.00 plus rate. Property and decor showed its age. Motor inn like. Staff needs an energy boost and attitude adjustment. Room was good size and relatively clean…
Loved everything till bedtime
The Gateway Inn was every bit the wood-lodge style of mountain hotel I'd wanted. The bar was good and inexpensive. Same for the food. The patios were spacious, easy to access, and had great views. They're also walk-able straight to downtown Grand Lake. Unfortunately, their beds were HORRIBLE. The mattresses were basically bricks. My son and I barely slept at all. By morning, my back, hips, and shoulders all ached. It was a night of nothing but agonized tossing and turning. They were also covered in 100% polyester sheets so, despite the room's A/C making it an icebox, I was so hot by midnight that I wound up sleeping on top of the sheets. Pure sweaty misery. I seriously debated sleeping on the floor b/c it would've been as hard as the bed but at least it would've been cooler. Their pillows were awful as well. They didn't have any firm ones, just the big poofy kind that my head would sink all the way to the bottom of leaving me trapped in a suffocating cocoon of cheap fluff. Stacking them didn't help so I ended up crushing the dang thing like a crab all night in order to condense it enough to be functional. (I'd rented two rooms btw and I checked the beds and linens in the other room, they were identical in their flaws.) I loved this place but I'd never stay here again because it failed so hard at being a good place to sleep.
We truly enjoyed our stay! The property was tidy, it was easy to park, desk staff interaction was seamless and the room was adorable and comfortable.
Beautiful rustic decor. Loved our balcony and view.
Lovely property
The view off the balcony is beautiful. The location is nice. The staff was wonderful.
Nice stay
Front desk staff very nice. Bed was comfortable, room was clean and plenty of hot water. We had a balcony with a view of Shadow Mtn. Lake and could listen to the live band from the bar/restaurant below. They stopped playing at a reasonable hour (we were there on a week night). I would not have liked it if the band had played later as we could hear it in our room. We would stay again if staying during the week. I would check about the band prior to booking a Friday or Saturday stay.
We loved our stay and only wish we could have stayed another night. Would stay here again. This is a great option for quickly arriving at Rocky Mountain National Park!
Loud music, especially on Friday, was annoying. Friday appeared to be part of a family staying there. She shrieked loudly and endlessly. She lasted for two hours. We just wanted quiet to enjoy the beautiful and serene mountains. We finally complained. Front desk person was excellent. Service at breakfast was delightful. But, overall, we would not return to this Inn.
Loved the decor and the bed was super comfortable!
All good for me
Just a good place to stay
There were loud drunks outside my window and loud live music. They should decide if they want to be a bar or a hotel
It’s at the entrance of the park. Comfortable room. Having 2 restaurant choices was nice. The staff was friendly and helpful checking in and out.
Great.
Staff was awesome. The room was clean and comfortable. Great views. Food was good. Perfect for our getaway!
Bathrooms were a little dated, but the whole place was a joy to be at and the rooms seem very large with high ceilings. Love the Pole barn theme everywhere.
Lovely hotel, remarkable server for breakfast.
We stayed 2 nights and enjoyed our stay. Cute rustic decor. It was nice having 2 restaurants on site. Location was convenient to Rocky Mountain National Park and the shops in Grand Lake.
Didn't like area under construction/dirt outside our room. View was OK but not real nice (Mountain View from 2nd floor)
The picture led me to believe it was lakefront. It is not. The busy road runs on both sides of it. The balcony off the restaurant gives a peek a boo view of the lake. The bed had a huge wood frame that I had to climb over to get in and out of bed. Not a fan. The low flow shower head barely rinsed me off. Get being water wise but that was ridiculous. Then the tap in the sink spewed water out, it was hard to control. Our room door and bathroom doorwere so loud and squeaky it woke anyone else in the room up. The restaurant food was like heated up frozen dinner. Very noisy hot tub area was right under our room. We were only there one night but I would not go back.
I had a so called “luxury king” room that cost $307 a night plus taxes!! It was not close to luxury!! It was the size of a postage stamp and had very old furniture and mattress!! The screen door to the balcony had torn screen flapping in the wind! The carpet in the hallway was torn and old and worn!! Not worth the money!! Do not stay here!!
Everyone was amazing and super friendly. We’ll be back!
Because the hard wood floor makes all the movement so noisy from the upper floor couldn’t sleep whole night.
A complete great experience!
Room was spacious with a great view. Bed very comfortable. Both restaurants were great. Charcuterie board was fabulous.

comfortable and quiet. Loved the cabin decor!
