Comfortable and friendly

Very friendly and comfortable stay. It was handy for the theatre we were going to

Stayed for one night in the family room which was perfect for our needs and reasonably priced. Excellent breakfast.

Lovely big family room, very accommodating of our toddler and really good free from options at breakfast after letting them know our intolerances.

This place was amazing! Would definitely come back to stay here again. Great staff! She let us check in early due to us flying in earlier. The breakfast was so delicious and was ALOT of food which was so so nice. Price point really good too.

We stayed in the family room and it was very clean and spacious. A double bed and two twins. Bathroom a nice size. The house is lovely - well maintained, not dated looking. Very nice hosts and great breakfast.

Awesome stay

We stayed for one night, we had an early flight the next morning. Mary was very accommodating and kind and made sure we had breakfast, even though it was earlier than the usual time. The bed was very comfortable. It was a very charming B&B.

A good location if you are driving and visiting Edinburgh, Glasgow and surrounding area on day trips. Room was clean, comfortable and good size for our family of three. Dining places are 10mins walk away.

The owners were helpful and polite and made a banging breakfast in the morning would definitely recommend

This was my first ever time staying at a b&b the owners were lovely and very attentive. The brekky was nice and the room was very comfortable.

Great B and B. Welcoming hosts. Very clean. Excellent breakfast. Handy for Edinburgh either by car or public transport. Will certainly stay again when next in the area.

Convenient. Close to Edenburgh. Hostess was very helpful with information. Safe area. Several restaurants within walking distance.

The toilet water was unable to stop whenever the toilet was flushed thereby causing disturbance to our sleeping during the night.

Surprisingly nice little bed and breakfast in Bathgate. We chose it because it was not far from Glasgow and about 20 minutes from Edinburgh airport. But it was very clean and had everything we needed. Mary met us at the door and settled us in. The room was slightly small for 4 people, but it worked. Not far from restaurants and other amenities in downtown Bathgate. Parking and breakfast included.

Really enjoyable stay and Mary was an excellent host.

The Gables is lovely and so are the people who run it. Plenty of parking room and an excellent breakfast. We would stay again.

Lovely breakfast - quiet neighbourhood not far from station to Edinburgh

Host very approachable and helpful, couldnt have wished for better service

The Gables is a very cute B&B conveniently located about 25 minutes from the Edinburgh airport, and was perfect for our last night in country. It had a room that had beds to accomodate 4 of us in one room, and the area is quiet and the location easy to find. Our host was very flexible with our arrival time and greeted us at the door when we arrived. There were 4 of us winding down a 10 day visit to Scotland with all our accompanying luggage. We were even allowed a bit of additional space to sort through our belongings and repack properly before heading to the airport in the morning. The room and en suite washroom was clean and well appointed. Our host explained the use of everything and was very helpful. Breakfast in the morning was delicious and plentiful. We had everything we needed and it was a great final experience to round out our trip! The only downside was that we had quite a bit of luggage to get up the stairs as there is no lift on the property, but most B&B's do not have a lift, and we knew that going in. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Bathgate belter.

Stayed here for 3 nights. Very clean. Spacious twin room. Lovely white soft towels. Water and biscuits, tea and coffee making in the room.lovely fresh breakfast cooked to order. Owners very friendly and hospitable . Would recommend.

Owner was very nice and even packed us a little lunch since we had an early flight and missed the breakfast.

Mary and Donald are warm and helpful hosts. We had an early flight and they kindly accommodated us with a continental breakfast and an early check in. Room was spacious. We’d certainly return!

Mary, our host, was lovely. Very friendly and helpful. The Gables is a cute, quaint building. Our room and bed were on the small side but both were comfortable. Easy bus ride from Edinburgh and train ride from Glasgow.

Was a nice stop over on our road trip. This little bed and breakfast is operated with love by the owner. Rooms were clean and the communication was good. Breakfast was a typical British breakfast spread (eggs, bacon, beans, etc), though made with much more care than you can get in bigger hotels… good enough that we all finished it which we couldn’t do elsewhere!

We cannot say enough about how wonderful Mary was during our stay, and we stayed here when we first arrived in Edinburgh, and again on our way back home. Comfortable rooms, great service, excellent breakfast. Mary herself was wonderful, friendly, helpful when we were planning our days and travels. We would definitely recommend Gables B&B, and would stay here again. Thank you so much Mary!

I liked everything

The property was easy to find but when u Google map it use the postal code not the address. Theres 2 places with same address and there 25 minutes apart. breakfast was good rooms were nice ,bus was a few minutes away. Our 1st time at a bed and breakfast and we're quite with our stsy.

Fantastic place

Fantastic place to stay and Mary makes you feel very welcomed, can't wait till I return.

We loved our stay at The Gables and will definitely be returning. Everything was fantastic, from the comfy beds to the delicious breakfast. Mary was a brilliant host, and nothing was too much trouble. She had even put a creme egg on our side plates, which was a lovely touch this Easter Sunday. It was much nicer than staying in a generic hotel, and much better value. I can highly recommend The Gables

Probably the most comfortable bed i have ever slept in

Great Bed and Breakfast

Spent an overnight as attending a family wedding nearby. The Gables was a great B and B, room was very clean and comfortable and capped off with a lovely breakfast in the morning. I would definitely use The Gables again if in the area.

Mary was lovely, very welcoming from the start, free parking, quiet cosy hotel, large rooms and nice hot shower. Very clean and tidy b&b with a lovely cooked breakfast. Will definately stay again if we are up that way in the future.

The road noise was disappointing. Property right on a junction with traffic lights and stationary vehicles with music playing when lights on red was loud. Mary our host was brilliant from check in to check out.

A great place to stay and Mary was a wonderful host. Breakfast was a real treat. Highly recommended.

Lovely stay for 3 nights!

Stayed for 3 nights. Very nice, friendly and helpful owners, Spotlessly clean comfortable room with beautiful spacious en suite. Breakfast always included yoghurts, fresh fruit, cereals, selection of juices plus a full cooked option. Plenty of tea, coffee, toasts and jams 😊. Well located, plenty of parking. Would definitely stay again.

Cosy clean room, good breakfast, good friendly host. Host communicates about checkin, breakfast time. There is a bustop in 2 minutes walk though Good if you are driving with onsite parking. I would recommend for others.

Lovely guest house

Lovely little guest house on the outskirts of Edinburgh, so really easy to get to all the beautiful places this amazing city has to offer. The guest house was clean, tidy & comfortable. Mary was an exceptional host, from the moment we booked to checking out. I can’t speak highly enough about Mary & how personable & professional she is. We will definitely be returning soon. Thank you Mary for a wonderful visit!

Perfect B&B great for families or couples getaway

Wonderful B&B Hosts Mary and Donald very accommodating. They whip up a delicious breakfast- fantastic bacon cooked to perfection the perfect egg (everyone liked a good runny yolk) Ladhings of toast and no shortage of butter. As a farmers daughter i appreciated the serving size of butter. Milk juice cereals, fresh fruits and yoghurts made for a hearty breakfast. Room was light airy and spacious. Bathroom immaculate and linen on the beds crisp & fresh. Ample parking great location for Edinburgh. No complaints only praise. Eager to return.

The property is very lovely, clean, and tranquil. The hosts are very helpful and nice. We felt they went out of their way to make our stay as comfortable and pleasant as possible. They have a great balance of giving you space but being there every time you need them. You will find few places as clean and comfortable as this beautiful property. Breakfast were the best. One might want to have their own transport or be prepared to hire cabs since it is a ways from the train stop.

Brilliant stay. The owners genuinely seem to care about their guests and go out of their way to be helpful. Great location. Superb breakfast. I can’t recommend it highly enough. And it’s not far from the train station or bus services taking you into the centre of Edinburgh. A hidden gem

Mary is a great host, good parking and easy to find. Local to town without being too noisy. My room was a bit dated but comfortable for the two nights I stayed. Good space to work from and bright and airy.
