Nice rooms, super convtlocation
Great place to stay!
Convenient for transportation
Good location close to Liverpool St Stn. Convenient for one night in London
Great location. However, check in is at the bar, which at 5pm on a weekday is very busy. Not ideal. And streets outside still noisy at midnight with people shouting and bottles being cleared... so not a great night's sleep. But room very nice and comfortable. Finally, no instructions given for checking out, and no staff around in the morning. Left key in thr room with the door unlocked. No idea if that was the right thing to do or not!
Nice pub , but really noisy - don’t stay for business. For pleasure it’s the but pricey for what it is
It was a perfect spot above a pub to stay and meet the locals. Rooms were very nice and updated
This is a hidden gem. Awesome.
Its ok for a night or two stay if you just looking for a place to crash.
Excellent location
The Inn was warm and cozy and the pub had excellent wines. Staff was very welcoming. I'd stay here again.
Boston loves London
What a great experience. Conveniently located by Liverpool street and Moorgate stations. The staff was super friendly and helpful. In room snacks and drinks. Room was nice and spacious (for Europe). AC was great and nice shower as well. We’ll be back for sure
Great hotel lovely rooms if you are on the top floor you’re in for a massive climb…
It didn't help that the England football team was playing at the time that we arrived but the check in process was not very good. It took some time to get assistance and then we were put in the wrong room. This was eventually sorted out and the correct room was quite nice. The lack of food at the pub was a disappointment.
This is the perfect boutique hotel in a prime location. It is literally across the street from the Liverpool Street station and Eatly. The rooms are quiet even with an active pub and busy neighborhood downstairs. There is no lift and a tight stairwell which wasn’t a problem for us, but something to be aware of. They even had our room available early for luggage drop off.
Such a lovely room, very clean, it’s definitely one of the nicest rooms we have stayed
Very convenient and comfortable one night stay
Perfect stay
Loved it! Lovely room, very clean, very welcoming ☺️
Incredible little gem. We can't wait to come back. The only thing to be aware of is there is no elevator and the stairs are steep. However, it was truly a wonderful hotel and so charming!
Would have been good to know the price of the food and drink items in the room. Also would have been good to have a way of communicating with the front desk without having to go through the pub.
A unique place in a good location.
I thought this was a great find - nice room and bathroom in a great location for the City. However there was no hot water at night and in the morning and nobody on duty and no reply from the contact email provided in the “welcome” email. Really not good enough and I will not stay again.
It was great They let us check in early which was really helpful. Nice place very authentic.
Nice friendly staff
City break
Great location. Friendly helpful staff. Comfortable room with complimentary tea, coffee, water, coke, crisps, biscuits etc. Goid atmosphere in the bar on the Sunday night.
Mixed Bag
We had a mixed experience here. The location is excellent, and the room itself was very nice. Customer service was close to zero. An email I sent to the hotel about check-in was never answered (I sent it more than a day ahead of time), and the first person we dealt with at the adjoining pub (there is no actual hotel reception desk) could barely be bothered to say hello or tell us anything about check-out, WIFI, etc. (he did however carry a suitcase up for us, which was much appreciated). The rooms here are essentially an appendage to the pub and are treated accordingly.
Great
Convenient and accessible
CONSTRUCTION!!! STAY CLEAR!
Be ready for a noisy stay!!! The Bar runs the Apartments above which was an interesting check-in. No elevator so pack light because you are carrying your bag upstairs. The rooms are quite nice per their pictures but very noisy as they are right above the bar. Bring earplugs if you want to sleep. While it is loud outside with people drinking on the street, be ready for the Kegs that get delivered on Wednesday at 6:10 am as they roll them down the street. My biggest complaint is the lack of transparency when I checked in and their disrespect of doing construction during my stay. I wish I hadn't prepaid and that they were open about the construction or gave me a discount. The construction started every day between 7-8 am and they left debris in the hall I had to climb over. See the pictures below and lower your standards if you stay here. I advise not paying in advance.
Good stay
Good small and compact Hotel. Very clean and tidy.
Location & staff is awesome -free breakast water snacks very nice - lots of stairs to walk up & room was a little stuffy but works stay again for sure just need a fan !
Pleasant stay - great breakfast
The room was lovely but a little tired in places. A bedside lamp was hanging off the wall. The sheepskin rug over the chair needed to be thrown away it just looked gross! Bed very comfortable, bathroom huge and very modern. The pub itself was lovely and great atmosphere but when we returned from the theatre it was already shut we had hoped to have a couple more drinks before bed! Breakfast the next morning was delicious, well presented lots of choice and our server was very pleasant. Only issue I had was at night you could hear the noise from outside despite the extra glazing unit in the window. Each room had access to a pantry with complimentary tea coffees soft drinks crisps and biscuits this was a nice touch. We stayed in Fishers Folly at the very top so there were about 70 stairs to climb!!
Great room, lovely pub. Only issue was Wifi did not work at all in room. Nice guy at reception tried to fix it on the first day, it worked for about half hour and then stopped and at night and early morning there was nobody around to help so I could not get any work done.
Disappointing
Room was cold. Guest pantry had no cups so no coffee. TV only showed one channel. Reported issues but no action taken
Fantastic property in an amazing neighbourhood!
4 Nights in London!
Right in the heart of London is this unique B&B that is like none other. Located above a pub, we are steps from the Tube and close to many stores and restaurants. The staff was great and once we found our way around we had a great time! Lots of stairs to climb though…
Wonderful east end location
Our stay was execellent. I loved the historic building the hotel was in. If you dont like stairs I wouldnt stay in fishers folly. Lol. We didnt mind at all. The service was awesome. Breakfast menu was small but the options i felt were perfect for any taste. I also really appreciated them holding our bags behind the bar as we were early arriving in London. There is also a pantry i believe on all the floors that have complimantary coffee, tea, pop, water, cookies and chips. All and all i would definitely stay there again. Its very close to Liverpool street station as well.
Great staff, great value, great location.
Great location, great breakfast service and wonderful customer service.
Great room great breakfast
Lovely room. Super convenient for public transport. Easy walk to the Thames nearby. Fab breakfast and great staff
Close to Liverpool Street station and friendly staff
Excellent full English breakfast!
A 50/50 satisfaction stay
I was in the Brick Lane room, which is very noisy at night because of the noise of a compressor going on and off throughout the night. I mentioned it to the staff, and it seems to be a problem for others too. The carpet near the bathroom was soaking wet due to a leak somewhere, which meant I had to put a towel down to get to the bathroom without wet feet. Although the bedsheets had been changed and the room had fresh towels, there was evidence of no further cleaning. For example, a receipt for someone else's food, a half-used small bottle of body lotion in the bathroom, deep dust on the table lamp. The staff at the Bull were lovely and did everything to make us feel welcome and accommodate us. The room also had a great choice of complimentary tea, coffee and soft drinks, plus crisps and biscuits.
Fantastic little find!
Absolutely fantastic spot! Highly recommend. 2 minute walk from Liverpool street station. Staff were super helpful and friendly.
The Bull and The Hide
Great location. Near to restaurants and bars, Liverpool St Station and the sights of London. Check in was a little late but hosts kindly offered us a free drink from the bar Breakfast good quality and service was good Pantry was well stocked with complimentary drinks and snacks
Storm Eunice blazed through on our last day and they were very accommodating to let us stay longer if necessary and made it a very stress free experience
Reasons to stay; location, breakfast, and customer
The hotel is ideally located about 500 meters from the Liverpool St Station, with fast-food and supermarket metros close by. All rooms are located above the Bull pub which looks like a nice local to have a pint or two to drink in. We were staying in London to celebrate my mother's 80th birthday, The Bull was contacted prior and Ryan arranged for a bottle of champagne and some balloons, which she really appreciated. Reasons to stay; location, breakfast, and customer service.
bull and hide stay
very comfortable excellent breakfast and friendly staff would stay again
Great little find
Excellent breakfast. Room was small but comfortable. Pantry was a good addition (on the top floor as they didn’t mention it to us). Location is fantastic as it’s 2 mins from Liverpool Street station which has both national rail and a tube stop with access to various lines so you can easily get to most parts of London quickly. Shower was decent and the pub it’s part of was nice with their own wine and a happy hour (although sadly it was really quiet when we were there due to covid so had to close early each night). Overall an excellent place to stay and good value for an excellent location in London.
Excellent location , fantastic rooms and facilities, brilliant friendly staff
Convenient and lovely!
We checked-in early and the team were wonderful at accommodating us!! The room was lovely and the breakfast the following day was delicious!!
Will be looking at booking again!
We had a lovely stay here. The room was modern and comfy and the building is very full of history. The staff were friendly and there were lots of lovely little touches such as a little pantry on each floor full of little goodies. The room was generally clean, just a couple of small issues that made the bathroom look a little tired, such as the button missing on the toilet flush and the shower needing some new corking. Otherwise the shower was really good and always hot and we were given clean towels daily which was fab! We did have a little disappointment on the first day as there was an issue in the kitchen and we were unable to have breakfast, the staff were very apologetic but nothing was offered in its place or to compensate which I think would have a been a good customer care move. The breakfast on our second morning was outstanding!!! The location is also great near the tube and plenty of places to shop, eat and tourist attractions on the doorstep. The pub itself also seemed to have a good atmosphere. We will definitely be looking to book again. Thank you very much.
A gem of a place
A gem of a place, really well positioned, very friendly and helpful staff, beautiful room which was surprisingly quiet given the great location. If you’re used to staying in hotels, just accept that there isn’t a 24 hour reception but as we didn’t need it, it really wasn’t a problem. If we need to be in this area of London again, i wouldn’t hesitate to return, thank you for a great stay
Staying in a pub room
The room was clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly and breakfast was good.
Little gem in the heart of the city
Oct-21
Brilliant staff, great room, great location, bit noisy at night if you are near the front side but only a minor complaint, highly recommended
Great location! Hidden gem! Cute room!
Amazing little gem hidden outside liverpool st station. Perfect walking distance to eataly and spitalfields market, great location! Very noisy ac unit outside that kept turning off and on 2 minutes throughout the night, this was the only minor let down. Hotel provides a variety of choice in breakfast dishes. Still and sparkling bottled water is included in the room. Staff are friendly and attentive.
Weekend break
What an amazing find ! Rooms perfect size for the weekend , clean and have everything you need . A lovely pantry area that u can make tea and coffee yourself , saves areas being cluttered in the room . The staff are really helpful and friendly. The duty manager especailly made the trip for us . Friendly , polite and really helpful. The breakfast included is of amazing standard , a good variety and perfectly cooked. The pub itself is perfect for a night in or a quick night cap. I would not hesetitate in staying here again. An absolute gem for what we needed .
Would definitely stay again!
The hotel is great, really clean and cosy rooms, great service and great location! The staff were all really friendly and the breakfast was lovely and an added bonus as we hadn’t realised it was included! The guest pantry was a lovely little touch too and the location right beside Liverpool Street made getting around so easy! The only slight downfall that we had was that some of the other guests were really noisy when coming in at 4.30am but that was nothing to do with the hotel or it’s staff, just some people being inconsiderate to others! Overall we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again and recommend to others!
Great mid-week break
Staff and service was outstanding we felt welcome from the moment we arrived until we left. Breakfast was lovely.
Good little find
Little gem of a place this is perfect one night stay
Fabulous find!!
What a fabulous find!! Got an upgraded room on arrival, modern spacious room with lovely big shower room and nice toiletries and beautiful fluffy towels. Double glazing was effective against the street chatter - I loved that the windows opened so I could enjoy watching the world go by before bedtime! Forgot that breakfast was included - such great value for money all round - the full English was devoured by my friend, my smashed avocado was delicious- but those chillis were hot! Lots of drink refills - oh, and loved the guest ‘pantry’ with complimentary soft drinks and snacks!! Will definitely stay again!
Tops
I don't normally bother writing reviews, but feel like these guys deserve credit where it's due! All the staff I met were really friendly and genuinely wanted to help and ensure you have a good stay at the Bull and Hide. Hold ups on the way down meant I couldn't get there till midnight, but the guy on the bar hung around to check me in - thanks again for this! Unfortunately the air con wasn't working in the room, but the staff were very quick to sort me out with another room while they fixed it. Both rooms were really clean and inviting, beds nice and comfy and had everything you need and more - guest pantry with drinks and snacks was a nice touch! Thanks again and will be back soon!
We were very pleased we booked a room here. Due to our room not being ready we were given free drinks in the bar. The room was great and very clean. The free pantry was amazing after a days walking around London. The bar and cleaning staff were very friendly and happy to have a chat. Would definitely stay here again.
Disappointing
Facilities were rather disappointing. Room was on the top floor (3rd floor I think) and no lift. Staircase very narrow. Shower gel and body lotion in the shower, but no shampoo. Then further two bottles of lotion by the sink. Who thought this is a good/practical set up? No kettle in the room, those facilities are shared with other guests. No phone in the room, so if there would be anything wrong (like I couldn't connect to wi-fi) you would have to go all the way down to flag it to someone. Hairdryer with the shortest cable so really uneasy to use due to plug location. Blinds in the bedroom couldn't be open. All in all very overpriced for what it is.
Excellent all round
Great location, warm welcome, fabulous room and breakfast. Will be back
The bedroom was a good size and had a very comfortable bed. The kitchen was clean and well stocked. The location was very convenient, very close to Liverpool street station and lots of bars and restaurants. It did mean that it was quite noisy (we were in a room at the front of the property) but we didn't mind and were able to get a good nights sleep.
very nice rooms, nice pub, great location.
very nice rooms, nice pub, great location.
Couldnt be bothered to open for breakfast
The staff on the evening were friendly and the toom was comfortable. I stayed in the London Wall room. As itnis above a pub i expected some noise but it was actually much louder than i expected. The roomnitself was quite nice although I was left with a ouddle to clean up after my shower as the water pooled in the bathroom after leaking either through the door or possibly over the top. All of thebother factors would have been borderline acceptable were it not for the folowing morning. I had called to confirm i would be able to have my colleagues meet me there for breakfast in the morning to prep for a meeting we had in the area. When i went downstairs 45 minutes after breakfast was supposed to have started it was all still locked up. Two staff members were stood outside and told me "sorry, the guy that is supposed to open up has not arrived yet". I had to rearrange my meeting and gonand find somewhere else to meet and eat. Although the staff were friendly there was clearly no concoderation or care given for this awful service. I would not stay here again and would recomend anyone looking at it to avoud it. Horrendous lack of care for the guests.
I got to the "hotel" and was confused about where to locate the lobby. There was none. From the street, there were two doors - one leading to a pub and another leading to a staircase. Picture a condo. I had to walk into the busy pub of drinking folks, to the bar check-out counter which was also the check-in "lobby". A lady was called to attend to me and she came up with an iPad. She asked if I had a reservation and asked my name. No ID was requested. She then reached for the single key hanging from a key board, and asked me to follow her. I followed her up two flights of stairs and stopped to ask her how far the room was ...one more flight up the narrow steps and she showed me a room at the top of the stairs. I told her I could not stay there. It was not as advertised (4 star), and I did not feel comfortable. There was a lot of noise from drunks outside, and this felt more like a dormitory than a hotel. I left, and reported to Expedia upon my return to the States. Expedia forwarded my request for a refund but was denied. This property may work for some folks, but if you care for safety, strike this off. I lost money. I wish I was warned. It is deceitful to advertise this as a hotel. Expedia mentioned asking their people to go and check it out...if they did, then this should be downgraded in no time. If they were simply B.S-ing me, then shame on their unfair business practice as well.
December 2019
Great staff and excellent location Room was massive too
This hotel is truly charming...we arrived last weekend and even though we were too early to check in, they stored our baggage and we had an amazing brunch at their pub. Since they're affiliated with a local winery, their wines were outstanding and the fish and chips were truly stellar. We were in town for just 2 days for a birthday and in our rush to catch our plane home, my husband left a silver cuff on our night table. We were at the airport when the manager called to let us know the cleaning staff had found the cuff and will send it to us in Brooklyn. We received the cuff today and are so grateful. We highly recommend The Bull and The Hide for something delightful and unique.
Weekend in London
Room and facilities great.Staff all lovely. Can recommend.
It was small, but enough and perfectly central. The staff was also very nice to us. I really liked it!!
Close to train and tube
I was surprised by how close to London Liverpool St train station this was. The rooms were modern and clean, the staff was very helpful. The only negative was being on the top floor with a very steep and narrow staircase.
The hotel and its amenities were excellent. However I hadn’t anticipated the amount of street noise.
Excellent, central location. Very friendly and helpful staff. When we had an issue with our stay, Stephanie, the GM, was very understanding and accommodating and greatly improved our experience.
A gem in the heart of the City
We had a stunning room on the top floor, where attention to detail was quite obvious. I love the idea of the kitchenette with free refreshments - a nice touch! One word of warning though - you need to be fit to get to the top floor of one below it, so worth discussing with the hotel as these rooms are perhaps not suitable for all. That said, the staff and friendly and accommodating, so any special requests shouldn't be a problem.
What a little gem!
What a little gem. Rooms were beautiful, modern, clean and comfy. Lovely en suite and the guest pantry was a fabulous touch.
Nice pub by Liverpool st station , right in the city . Good little kitchen of room , for coffee etc . Breakfast good value , only down fall TV did not work . We were on top floor with lots of steps up .
Excellent Service! The Smart TV was inoperable for 3 days😳for evening/nite viewings. The property Safe was broken for use.
Overall the stay was good, however, i had no power in the room from the plug sockets. The manager worked with me in the morning to resolve some of tge problems this caused but overall it did cause significabt inconvenience. Ican nit faukt the way in whcihc tge manager dealt with it and must say she was brilliant
Great location steps from Liverpool Station but NOT AS ADVERTISED on THREE COUNTS A) very small room for the so called “deluxe room” B) bed not even queen sized but advertised as king bed. We don’t stay in hotel with small beds so this was the major disappointment for a hotel: poor sleep quality due to bed size. C) Wifi unacceptably slow or intermittent - completely unacceptable in the 21st century. Steep stairs, A/C good and free beer or beverage in pantry a nice gesture. To compensate we got two free breakfasts after my third complaint about the unacceptably slow wifi.
Perfect location in London
Our stay was wonderful. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The suite was big enough for three adults. The mini bar was fully stocked daily and free. The hotel was conveniently located to the liverpool tube line. I would stay there again.
Great location and awesome staff
Pros Location right across from Liverpool station Extremely comfy bed and clean facility, loved the little guest pantry provided Staff was very friendly and extremely accommodating Cons The listing shows all rooms and not necessarily the one you’re renting. Wasn’t a huge deal as I figured it out looking at other websites, but I never received a response the two times I emailed prior to my trip. WiFi just didn’t work on my room. Staff tried to help set me up with a different private WiFi, but that one also didn’t work in my room. I eventually purchased WiFi for 25 pounds for 5 days so I could be connected.
Great location!
Perfect for a 1 night stay close to the Liverpool Street Station. Watch out - you can’t check in after 22:30. And when I arrived at 20:30 the kitchen was closed - but there are lots of options close by.
From the minute we checked in we were made to feel welcome, the staff couldn’t do enough for us. A lovely room spotlessly clean and well maintained, fabulous cooked breakfast and attentive service. Would definitely stay again and highly recommend for a stay in London great location close to Liverpool station making it really easy to get around London.
Top review
What a great find. Staff, Bar and Room was just perfect. I feel that this place is great value for money and the breakfast too was great. I will be back.
I was very happy just should have been told 80 stairs to climb to room but Roman and Karl were wonderful carried my bag and had their cell no’s and they came up and answered all my questions. The breakfast was excellent and really close to Liverpool Street station
Great Gem!
We loved this boutique hotel in a great location close to the station. The room was really nice, the management was nice and we will definitely return on our next London visit!
Very nice for a reasonable
Very nice place lovely little pub with excellent rooms upstairs, very quiet considering the location excellent amenities nearby really can't fault it
A very nice stay.
Pro's: Great location. Lovely room which was spotlessly clean. Very comfortable. Free beer!! I had walked past this pub hotel on many occasions over the years and have always wanted to stay here. Con's: No in-room safe which meant I had to keep my passport, spare credit card, all my cash etc on me at all times. WIFI did not work which was a pain. No in-room tea / coffee making facilities and no dressing gown provided which meant you had to get dressed to go to the kitchen area in the corridor to make some tea. However, I enjoyed my stay at the Bull & Hide and would recommend it.
Comfortable and quiet
Good place to stay overnight in City - breakfast in pub downstairs also decent
The staff is super nice, they go above and beyond, they did help me with luggage, walked to the room; borrowed umbrella when it was raining; check in and check out is really fast and simple there was free access to some drinks and cookies; it was really great the room was beautiful and for London really spacy
Really quiet room central London lovely stay
Quiet room in the middle of London, lovely shower, air con and complimentary items were a nice touch
Great place to stay.
Great place to stay.
Great Find
What can i say, excellent staff very welcoming, great food, good selection of drinks, clean and comfy rooms, very spacious, nice touch with the free water, coke, budweiser, crisps, tea & coffee etc, fairly priced, spot on location for liverpool street station and underground, plenty of bars around too, will definitely stay again, well done to all the staff that made this a very enjoyable stay.
The room was smaller than anticipated but very comfortable and fantastic location.
Bull and Hide is “Fab”
Great boutique in great location, I highly recommend for a great London experience in a historic pub/Inn.

Well appointed rooms and helpful staff, in a great location.
