Lovely ranch. Bunkhouse was newly renovated and very nice. Home cooked breakfast. We enjoyed our stay.

Fun Stay in Historical Setting

We enjoyed our stay in this historical setting and the owners were quite sweet. The setting was relaxed and super quiet, but you'll want to make sure to check for bugs if you're staying in the original homestead house... you are out in the country. Just make note that the restuarant isn't open on Tuesdays so you'll have to drive a ways back into town.

We loved our unique stay on a working ranch. Watched the stars while rocking on the bunkhouse deck. Calm & beautiful.

Second time at TA Ranch. Love it!

This was my second time staying at the TA Ranch. Unlike most Dude Ranches that require at least a three day stay, the TA Ranch is more accommodating and you can even stay there just one night, yet still get the dude ranch experience with horseback riding and being in the country. It’s only 15 minutes from town and even closer to Crazy Woman Canyon which is beautiful.

You wake up to the horses in the field and the smell of bacon cooking. I rated this excellent because it is an experience more than just a motel stay. If you want a real ranch country feel, this is like the series Yellowstone, live, with more modest accommodations.

This property was amazing. Staff was so kind and friendly. We will definitely be back.

Beautiful, rich history & excellent food!

Wonderful ranch with rich history. Old buildings, so if you’re a city slicker looking for 5* luxury, TA isn’t for you. If you’re looking for a dude ranch feel, love animals & beautiful scenery & the best gourmet food… stay at TA:) If it’s hot outside, get a little fan at WalMart for your room.

The historic TA Ranch with fine dining promises a lot, but unfortunately delivers none of it. Historic, yes, but not habitable. Bathrooms and rooms are run down and dirty, there is no internet connection, no TV, no air conditioning, but mismatched furniture and crabby blinds. Food is limited to variations of egg in the morning, cook looks annoyed and overall staff is quite unfriendly and seems to have no desire to receive guests at all. The only exception is the old owner who runs the place alone in the morning and has a knowledge of history to be admired. Too bad, the place would have had potential with that location! This is an awesome ranch in Buffalo Wyoming. If you want to get away from City life this is the place. Everyone is so accommodating, friendly and nice. There's goats, horse's, cows feels like you live here when you are here. The Ladies who own and run the Ranch are great. We stayed in the Bunk house which was warm, sunny, clean, comfortable. There is a restaurant with full wine/cocktails available. The meals are "home cooked" We had Steak, Lamb chops, corn on the cob, scalloped potatoes and salad for dinner. Breakfast comes with the room different daily we had French toast, fresh cantaloupe, bacon, juice and coffee. Definitely recommend this place and will be back.

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING PEOPLE! No doubt, your first impression are the surroundng landscape and coziness of the ranch snuggled withing an oasis of cottonwoods. But the true beauty is the heart and soul of the hosts and staff. It is impossible to ignore the enuine kindness and hospitality. We felt more like family than a guest. They make it a great place to relax to enjoy Wyoming. Restaurant was top notch! Food was fresh and cooked to perfection in the best traditions of fine ranch dining. Delightful! It will satisfy the palate of any gourmand. Our stay was nostalgic, relaxing on the porch thinking about our family homestead and Bar LT ranch... This property was a dream come true! real working cattle ranch and the staff couldn't have been more excellent if they had been family!!! I will never forget this experience> It is a must do if you ever dreamed of staying in Wyoming on a ranch

Beautiful property. Friendly STAFF

We absolutely loved our stay at TA Ranch. It's a working ranch with guest accommodations. This is not a luxury dude ranch... it's the real deal, family owned and operated. The family and staff are welcoming and accommodating. The rooms are comfy and reminiscent of an earlier time with modern appointments. The restaurant and bar: fantastic and inventive cocktails, comprehensive wine selection to pair with the menu, and delicious menu offerings. A place to slow down, hike, fish, ride horses and enjoy life.

A gem in Wyoming ranch country!

We stayed for a couple of nights while on our way to Yellowstone, and this was an excellent experience! Very relaxing! An honest-to-goodness cattle ranch with horses, goats, and dogs too.. The owner and all who work here made us feel very welcome! We had a fun horseback ride with two excellent guides yesterday… Our house/room was very comfortable. The ranch house has a spacious shaded deck with a view of the Bighorn mountains right off our room, and we watched an amazing full moon rise last evening. The cook house restaurant has excellent food, and is literally 20 steps from our room! We definitely recommend this place, and would come back if in the area again. The town of Buffalo is a very nice place as well.

We booked an impromptu 1-night stay at TA Ranch on a road trip. The historic property was beautifully restored and there is a lovely 3-generation family running it. A delicious homemade breakfast was included, and the on-site fine dining restaurant was a special treat for dinner. We spent quality time with their very social goats, and went for a morning horseback ride before getting back on the road.

Staying at the TA Guest Ranch was so fun. It is family run, the staff is lovely, and the food and cocktails were delicious we will definitely visit again.

Best place to stay near Buffalo!

Loved this ranch & will definitely be back. Unlike most ranches that require a full week stay you can stay at TA Ranch for just a night or two. They have horseback riding. The ranch is just 15 minutes south of Buffalo so it’s easy to drive in for a meal or shopping. The breakfasts at the ranch are included, made to order & great!

Food

It's a hidden gem! It's perfect for a family stay. Enjoyed waking up to the moo-moo! And sweet Barbara got a nice egg and bacon (and this was BACON!) breakfast earlier than the scheduled 8am, to accommodate our request. I hope to find myself back in TA sooner than soon. Beautiful people. And, oh, superb dinner menu.

Very remote!! The staff was friendly and the restaurant had good food, But the room was small, cramped and unclean!! Would never stay there again. Orbitz arranged the worst accommodation available at the ranch. Very disappointed!!

Such a quiet and relaxing stay. Great place and great people. Very convenient parking and a restaurant on the property.

Great ranch experience!

Great Place to Visit on way to Yellowstone

The room was spacious and the beds (2 Queens) were very comfortable. We ate dinner at the ranch, and while my steak was very good, my wife and her mom had the stuffed chicken that turned out to be very dry and overcooked. For what we paid for the meal, we felt the overall quality could have been better. There is a breakfast that is free, but we were unable to stick around for that the next morning as we were heading on to Yellowstone (about four hours away). Also keep in mind, the ranch is about 10 miles from Buffalo, so if you want to look around the town you'll have to drive. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, and having the ability to do laundry in the common kitchen/laundry room was a great plus. Would also recommend the scenic drive along Hwy-16 nearby, if you have time to do that - very beautiful.

This place was awesome! Wish we could have stayed more than one night. Everyone was accommodating and friendly.

Rustic and remote

We were later to arrive than we'd hoped, but rye staff made sure we received a beautiful dinner. The food at the ranch was top notch. The owners made sure everything we needed was available. Our son took a horse trail ride before we left. Beautiful property. Clean, safe and no stairs to carry luggage up. So happy we stayed there. Oh, and their dog that roams the ranch is so friendly.

Private ranch with a pleasant atmosphere as opposed to holiday inn. Didn't like not being able to control the temp in my room. No signs to show where to check in. We wandered from building to building but the staff was great!

Expedia poorly explains that this, whileb indeed a hotel, is also a historical site and an actual ranch. The people, the fresh food, and the location are fantastic. It's remote and quiet. I rode horses and walked around. The bunkhouse I stayed in has a common area--also not clear on Expedia. And some upgrades might be in order. But given what it is--a real ranch, not a Hilton--it's a lovely experience.

TA Guest - Relaxing

The TA Guest Ranch is a great place to stay, awesome friendly service in a place with lots of history. The views are amazings

TA is a hidden gem! The restaurant was phenomenal! It was very relaxing and beautiful. We saw a great horse demonstration with The Horse whisperer Mike, walked around and saw beauty at every turn from horses to mountains to antique filled rooms. The staff was amazing and your experience and enjoyment was a top priority! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and look forward to going back!

The TA Ranch is a special place. The food is delicious and the staff welcoming and convivial. Walking the property at sunset, I had an almost surreal feeling of well being and peacefulness. It felt like a home away from home.

Don't miss the TA!

I'll start with the hospitality! Within minutes, I was wishing we were staying for much longer! We were welcomed with great conversation and laughter that made us feel right at home. The room was perfect, too--nice sized with a nice sized bathroom of our own. Beautiful views out the windows with a lovely breeze blowing. I honestly felt like I was sleeping on a cloud; the bed and bedding were so comfortable and inviting. The supper we enjoyed at the restaurant was easily the best of our trip, probably the best we'd eaten in months! From poutine to steak (and those nummy scalloped potatoes) to rhubarb berry cobbler, we tried to eat slowly to fit it all in because each bite was THAT good! I haven't even mentioned the history of the TA Ranch! Our informal tour shared fabulous background of how the Johnson County War ended there. We really appreciated the background and the stories. I can't wait to get back to the TA (and I will!!). There are so many positives that I haven't even mentioned!
