Wow. This hotel understands customer service and embraces it. Wonderful and kind staff at the front desk. Lots of nice little free perks, too. Stayed in the Lighthouse and we loved it. Huge soaking tub, TV in the bathroom, too! Love that there's even room service. We will be back!

We have stayed at many different properties and this property is honestly our #1. Everything from checking in to the tv in the bathroom and beds were Amazing!! Customer service was phenomenal as well! Wayfarer restaurant on the property is our #1 restaurant as well!! This property is truly an excellent location to go unwind and enjoy the beach.

Staff was very friendly. Room was clean and location on the beach was great.

The staff were wonderful and very accommodating. They moved us from our original room to a room with a better view at no extra charge. The amenities offered were fabulous. It was super fun to be able to enjoy ice cream and cookies in the lobby while visiting with other guests and the hotel staff. If we had any questions they were always available to answer them and provide us with quality service. We would definitely come back.

Great access to the beach

A snow/ice storm happened during my travel for Valentines, and the staff called to make sure we were okay and ensured us there was no rush and to take it slow to my arrival and be safe which was very sweet, when finally arriving we were greeted with beverages and given keys to an AMAZING room with such a nice view and a great tub. Great amenities, loved the fireplace, and room service to your room with some spectacular warm and fresh food and delicious cocktail options. The pool and hot tub were also spectacular, I have not a single complaint during my stay. Cookies during the day in the lobby! When checking out they offered us a beverage as well for our bus trip back. These small things make a stay so memorable and really show great customer service. Your staff took amazing care of us and we were more than greatful to be there. Thank you for making the vacation a blast, and we will be back!

We loved everything about our stay, the ocean view was amazing, the staff very friendly and helpful (Thanks Zach for the to do/see list) the fresh baked cookies everyday so good!! I wish we could have stayed longer, we will definitely be back!

Beautiful location right on the beach

Perfect location right on the beach overlooking Haystack Rock. Very well kept room that was completely remodeled with balcony overlooking the beach & ocean. Best hotel in Cannon Beach with excellent staff & service. Indoor pool & fitness center too.

Stayed in king suite with full ocean view. Room was extraordinary with every thing you could want or need for a pleasant stay.

This is an excellent property and great location. Staff are amazing and friendly and the rooms are really clean. I had slight reaction to the cleaning solution they used on the floor, but at least we know they cleaned it! The rooms are updated and the view was incredible! This is our 5th or 6th stay here and we always end up coming back. The hot tub was great, a little too much chlorine so our eyes were burning after about 10 mins. Thinking it must of just been added before we got in, it was still nice and relaxing. We’ll definitely be back!

I have been coming to this property for over 20 years. Stayed in all different rooms, from most expensive to very budget friendly. Rooms were upgraded last couple of years. Unfortunately gas fireplaces were replaced with electric. We were off season, room was cold, heater didn’t go higher then 69, electric blinds didn’t work. (Those details made a difference when you are staying away from home). This hotel has a perfect location. You can walk to town, walk on a beach (ocean front property). Walking distance to the restaurants.

Fur friendly coastal getaway

Such a beautiful location in Cannon Beach. Excellent view with easy beach access. Staff went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. We super loved the attention to the pooches!

Everything was great. We had an issue at check in and the front desk/management went way above and beyond to make it right. The property was very clean and comfortable. Amen ities were great. We are customers for life.

One of the nicest properties in cannon beach, Oregon. We love staying at this property!

The view of the beach, haystack rock and the sunset from the room was great. The room service was a bit pricey but excellent food. We had a tasty breakfast in the restaurant but the heater was busted and it was really cold in there.

Wi-fi was open and not secure, but everything else was great!!!!

I liked our room easy to get to the ocean and it was very comfortable. I have to say having the cookies is a great touch because they are wonderful. The staff was very nice 😊

The room was lovely and very thoughtfully designed, especially the lighting, and all the staff I saw, including maintenance and housekeeping folks, were friendly and welcoming. A great place to stay.

A wonderful stay. The property is beautiful and they had many hospitable touches that we very much enjoyed. I would highly recommend booking this property. Definitely one of my favorite hotels I stayed at in awhile.

DO NOT STAY HERE. JUST DON'T. Here's what you need to know about small hotels like these on Expedia. They give you the worst room in each category. I didn't know that was even allowed but they admitted to it. We booked the patio king and were told it would have an ocean view. Instead they gave us a daylight basement where you had to stand up at the window, look out over a partial cement wall and a hedgerow to see the ocean. We also saw other guests walking by looking down at us. We had to close our shades for privacy. So basically no ocean view at all. Also we booked this room to have a quiet weekend getaway. Well it's not so quiet when you can hear people running around on the floor above you (kids). Word to wise hotels: do not put quiet couples on the floor beneath a family with kids. When I complained at the front desk about the semi-basement unit, they said that's because we booked through Expedia. They said it was Expedia's fault. And they can't control it. But then they also said they always give their bottom rooms to Expedia customers. I guess us Expedia users are lower value inferior customers because Expedia takes a cut. But if the hotel isn't getting value from the visibility on aggregator sites like Expedia, then don't list your property there! Don't make the customer suffer just so you can get a few extra rooms booked! Seems to be an issue with independent hotels in the US. From now on if a national brand is not available then I am only booking a vacation home.

Perfect location, beach access, close to town, amazing restaurant next door that serves room service!!

Perfect spot for husband and I and our dog. Extremely dog friendly and so convenient to let our dog run on the beach. The restaurant on site is absolutely amazing. Rooms were quiet, clean and comfortable. The price was reasonable and we were greeted with a free local beer upon check in. We’ll definitely be back.

Front desk and staff were friendly and helpful. Room and facilities were perfect!

Lovely property. We were in a 1-bedroom suite. We found it very cozy with the fireplace. The bathroom was spacious and our daughter loved the soaking tub. We also like that the living room, with the pull out couch had a separate ac unit than the bedroom. The view of course was wonderful from the patio and living room.

A wonderful hotel! It’s just a one-minute walk from the beach. You can see the coastline right from your room. The room is very clean, the bed and pillows are incredibly comfortable, and there’s even a separate TV in the bathroom. My room had a telescope, though I couldn’t see things clearly through it. The staff here are very friendly and provide excellent service, and they offer delicious free cookies every day.

The fresh cookies in lobby at three PM were a nice touch. The front desk staff was friendly and professional and the resort was in walking distance to all that Cannon Beach has to offer. We loved our stay.

Don’t look to other options this is the BEST that you will have, pool area, hot bathtub spa, gym, the rooms updated clean and comfy! Super close to the haystack rock! Just 3 min walking from the hotel! Amazing place!!

It was nice, but I thought from the pictures that it was more luxury. The sauna and the pool were both in different buildings, so it wasn't too convenient to use them. I didn't see anyone using the sauna actually at all. I liked the room view to the ocean, cleanliness, fridge and microwave in the room. The restaurant is nice, nothing fancy, but the food was nice

The friendliest staff and most up to date room we’ve stayed in! We made a noise complaint about our upstairs neighbors and it was handled swiftly and apologized for the inconvenience when we checked out!! Amazing room, amazing views, and amazing staff!

The reception was amazing. All staff were incredibly kind and welcoming. The room was great. Wonderful location. Restaurant was delicious.

Creature comforts and a killer view

A view to die for, complemented by all the creature comforts you can imagine, backed up by incredibly kind, engaging staff. The oceanfront suites are extra comfortable and well-equipped from a technology standpoint. We'd stay here again, no doubt.

Good overall

The staff went out of their way when one of us stumbled and wrenched her knee. They provided two strong guys to get her to the car when she could barely move.

Wonderful view and staffs

The room was spacious, well appointed and thought out. Although the floor was not carpeted it wasn’t cold. There was a useful LED Fireplace and a large TV. There were large windows facing the ocean. Because we were on the upper floor there was privacy even with drapes up. The tub was awesome ans lastly housekeepers were fantastic

Perfection

We were looking for an easy getaway from the city to reset. This was the perfect spot - the view was stunning and the room was cozy. Loved the fireplace, aura lighting and spacious bathroom tub. Will definitely keep this spot in mind for the future.

Great place to relax and enjoy the beach. Easy to get in to town on your own, or they have a shuttle on demand. The restaurant on site is excellent and has a nice view of Haystack Rock. It’s pet friendly, and has easy access to the beach. Warm and friendly staff to help with whatever you need.

Stunning rooms with a view of the ocean. What I didn't know was for $50 you could have a fire lit with s'mores and a little campsite on the beach which we were not told about or I would have done. Loved the hotel.

Wonderful trip once again. I’ve stayed here twice and I’ve had a great experience both times. Right on the beach, close enough to haystack rock while also close enough to walk to shops and grab a coffee in the morning. Will definitely be back!

The only four star option was given because the ice machine in our building was out of order. Everything else 5 stars!!!

I loved it sooo much here! Honestly the best hotel I've ever stayed at! From getting there and the super friendly staff to how amazing the rooms are! Best location on cannon beach. Comfortable beds. Too many lights from appliances shine in the room at night so I had to cover things with towels. Low adirondacks in balcony are nice but too low so u can’t see the view when you sit in them. High bar height Adirondack chairs would be better. Amazing views. Good amenities and ev chargers. Nice stay. Room was much smaller than online view so if that matters double check size. Clean bathrooms

Bedroom was a small, windowless room. The living area had a cement floor and smelled like a janitor had cleaned. There was a broom and dustbin in the living area, along with a table, two chairs and a small, uncomfortable loveseat facing the tv rather than the ocean. Great views, great bathroom, but certainly not luxurious and not worth the $500 /night.

Our room had been recently remodeled and was lovely. We had a kitchenette of sorts but without equipment to wash dishes. All dishes were replaced daily though. No safe in our room which seemed to be an oversight in the remodel. A minor inconvenience. Beautiful stay.

The rooms need to better cleaned. Noises from upstairs all night , people have no respect.

Perfectly positioned on the beacg. Check in was accompanied with cookies and locally brewed beverages. Room was clean and well stocked for a short stay. Beach chairs, towels, toys were available. Loved my stay.

We have stayed at the Surf Sand many times and like everything about it. Only comment is that the lift was out of order and we were on the 3rd floor. This was repaired swiftly. Otherwise wonderful stay.

The place is amazing, perfect location. Views are amazing, rooms are beautiful and comfy. We booked via hotels.com and the photo of the view for the room we booked was misleading. While they didn’t have space in the one we thought we booked they did a lot to make up. I would for sure stay here again and bring family.

Great location. Nice room. Walls are thin so dogs and kids from other rooms made it difficult to sleep. With that said, excellent location to walk on the beach and gorgeous views. Definitely a dog and kid friendly resort!

Our stay was wonderful! The rooms were so nice and the location couldn’t be better. Staff was very friendly. Hot tub and pool area were perfect after a day of hiking. Beach fire was such a great experience!

The oceanfront location was great! But.. landscaped areas around resort were overgrown with weeds and trash. Our room had many areas that had obviously not been cleaned or sanitized such as the microwave and refrigerator, bathroom floor was filthy with piles of hair and debris in the corners and under the vanity. The staff was very attentive and quick in dealing with my cleanliness issues. We were even given a restaurant credit to compensate for our inconvenience. Overall, the staff in every aspect of our stay (waiters, front desk, housekeeping) was incredible and accommodating. Also, very friendly and welcoming. The General Manager was very active in resolving any issues and did so with kindness and generosity. It was overall a great stay because of all these wonderful, caring people.
