My room was gorgeous, spacious and had a beautiful view of the grounds: there was so much lush greenery—you are literally waking up to a tropical paradise! I enjoyed local cuisine at the restaurant and enjoyed the beachfront views. I had a lovely spa experience and the breakfast is absolutely delicious: I was provided a breakfast box & coffee for my Komodo Island boat tour upon request and it came in handy! If you want to zen out & decompress from the stressors of your day to day: come here, you won’t regret it! Wali di ah!
Excellent property! The staff was kind and amazingly helpful!
Beautiful property right on the beach, friendly staff all around.
Beautiful property, really comfortable and attentive service. Room service, spa, beach bar were great. Gym equipment was almost all broken/out of service and not useable.
Comfy staff
Stunning resort with awesome facilities like gym, pool. Beautiful food in restaurant with friendly staff. Spacious, super comfy rooms, just annoying the the bathrooms doesn’t have mesh over the exposed/glassless windows as so many mosquitoes around
Note: The bathrooms at this property (toilet and shower) are outdoors, with the bugs and the lizards Pros: - Nice infinity pool - Beautiful sunset from the beach - Clean, comfortable beds and rooms - Comfortable beach / pool chairs Cons: - Outdoor bathroom with the bugs and lizards - Food at pool bar was horrible - When checking out, front desk agent was asleep (5:30am), so we just had to leave without confirming check out - LOTS of bugs (probably out of their control) made it hard to relax on the beach with ants crawling all over you and flies landing on you
Lovely hotel, rooms are quiet and clean. The staff are excellent and the regular shuttle service to/from the town and airport is great. The restaurant is ok - not the best, not the worst but fairly expensive. There aren't really any shops or restaurants nearby so keep that in mind with regards to buying supplies.
Fabulous stay
Stayed in a villa with private pool and loved it. Complete privacy. The resort is nice ans small, well appointed and food options are very good. Staff are very friendly and helpful.
Great location next to the beach, lovely staff and clean rooms
Disappointing and not for me!
I have very mixed views about this hotel. We had a most wonderful time on Komodo Island. The trip we arranged privately was superb, but this is the 1 hotel that i could not wait to leave. Positives + lovely gardens, which are well maintained. + large rooms + effective air conditioning + direct access to the beach. Cons - when we arrived, our balcony was not locked. The reception informed us thT it did not lock and that security patrolled, so not an issue. Being in a previous situation where we had an intruder in our room, this was not good enough. We had no sleep and had to be up at 4am to leave for a trip. On the morning of day 2, when we requested a different room, we were told that in fact it did lock. This was not good enough. - breakfast was the worst that we had on our trip. Flies were crawling over the bread in the corner, which was uncovered. Birds sweep in and out on the food. Noo e from the hotel ensures that it is covered. I left my breakfast as the hygiene was not up to standard. - we had a meal in the hotel. Again, the worst we had (and the most expensive). I can see why some people love this. If yiu want to sit by the pool and overlook the ocean, then this resort would be for you. I would not return.
Didnt like that they charged me $57 for a small load of laundry.
The open space provided was great for our grown up family to move independently or together. Lovely staff. Great pool amd bar area. Food was delicious
We loved our stay at this hotel. The room was spotless and exactly as described from the booking. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Lots of food choices at the hotel and options to do activities nearby. The pool was lovely and there were amazing sunsets from the beach. Would definitely stay again.
I am impressed with all the people who work there. Very helpful and friendly, especially the restaurant. I only have problem on my 3rd night. Noise from the party outside of the hotel is loud at night time
We had a wonderful 3 nights here. The staff are so friendly and helpful. Immaculate grounds and such a relaxing and peaceful environment. Highly recommend!
Friendly staff, clean modern rooms, great buffets, lovely pool area and nice beaches for sunsets.
Stay Here
Sudamala was a wonderful place to stay in Labuan Bajo. It was peaceful & calming to come back to at the end of the day. The grounds are beautiful. The bed amazing. Lovely spacious room. The staff are the nicest people. Genuinely friendly. Possibly the best place to stay in Labuan Bajo.

Rest and relaxation at its finest!
This property was wonderful. Check in was an experience unto itself with friendly staff and exceptional customer service. The rooms were clean and the resort was a beautiful property to stay at. I would recommend this property many times over.
Gem of a hotel - lovely staff
Absolutely loved my stay at Sudamala. Beautiful hotel, relaxed atmosphere, great service.

I loved staying at The Sudamala Resort. The staff made an extra effort to make my stay enjoyable. My room was beautiful and my bed was wonderfully large and comfortable. Check in and check out was fast and easy.
Great stay
The hotel was amazing, the staff were wonderful and very accommodating! The only negative is the positioning next to a mosque, the call to prayer every 4am kept us up
Very nice stay, enjoyed the spa, beach, food. Our room was very nice and clean.
Nice and clean room. Excellent and friendly staffs. Very efficient and helpful. Enjoyed our stay.
great stay overall with friendly staff, probably the best property in labuan bajo!
The staff were super good very nice people, the most amazing customer service for sure. Food could be better for the lunch and dinner. Breakfast is very good. The rooms were nice and spacious except for the fact that one of my pillows smell like pee and some of the towels seem to have stains. Is a few mosquitos around so keep that in mind.
Gorgeous Resort!!
This resort is so amazing and beautiful! Stunning views, beautiful beach, gorgeous rooms, delicious food & drinks.
Great stay. I was traveling for days from Bali in my Ranger. Had a crossing from Sape to Labuan Bajo. I was stuck 2 nights in Sape waiting on the ferry. If you’ve ever been. It’s the dirtiest place I’ve been. Possibly the worst place on the planet to be stuck. Not including war zones. Any way I needed a great place. Great food and pool area.
Greta facility and great staff!
BEST VACATION EVER!!
We often say it’s never about the place; it’s always about the people. We were treated to the utmost of kindness here at Sudamala Resort. The facility is pristine, supremely clean and well designed with easy walkways, beautiful gardens, and magnificent accommodations. The staff is very friendly, knowledgeable and welcomes us in every way. The meals were superb with exquisite presentation. We could not have asked for a better vacation. We are very grateful to have experienced this paradise and some surrounding islands, and so thankful to every person we met. Thank you Sudamala Resort. We will return!!
Great resort! Would stay there again.
Wish we were staying longer. A very beautiful, quiet, luxurious property on the water. Food in the restaurant was excellent, beds comfortable, check in easy. We did hear the muezzin in the morning, but it was quite beautiful. Staff was gracious. We stayed just one night before joining a liveaboard, but it was a very nice place.
This is an amazing place, I will be back to spend more time there!!!
Nice property,useless beach,annoying summit.
Our initial plan was to stay at the sister property Sudamala Resort Seraya from our arrival to Labuan Bajo but due to a wedding celebration,it was impossible so had to stay here for the first 3 nights during early may 2023,even thought the reservation was made very well in advance. Unfortunately and without notice,it was at the same time of the Asean summit celebration that was really annoying, most hotels and streets taken by police and the army. Our hotel's lobby was almost always crowded by security and official personnel, also main restaurant. The rooms are ample clean and well appointed, nice open air bathroom, cared gardens and common areas but the beach is,in our opinion, not suitable for swimming.Good food and nice staff.
Great staff and beautiful property
We booked for a villa with a pool. I got to say the room is well appointed. We enjoyed the pool and the room. We were impressed when we walked into the hotel. Then we went to have dinner at the restaurant. Now that is when things got a bit disappointing. It took us more than two hours to get our dinner and we didn’t we even get to our dessert. We had a tour booked the next day and pick up was 7am so we had to go to bed early. They could get us our check. In fact the entire restaurant was full of customers waiting for their checks. We didn’t get our check that night but they let us go. The breakfast crew however was great. No complaints there. We thought we would be wise to just order room service. To make it simple for them, we just ordered a bucket of beer. The beer showed up without a bottle opener. Waiter left and said he will come back with one. No one showed. Our beer started to get cold. So we went ended dining else where for the rest of our stay and had fabulous meals. In fact, the place right across the street and the restaurant at the tiny hotel down the street were great. Another issue we had was the hotel shuttle. They said it would take 45 minutes. More than an hour later we were still waiting. So we ordered Grab bikes. 14k for each bike. Not bad. All in all, we spent a lot of money here and felt disappointed. If we had paid motel prices we would have thought it was fair. Sadly, we can’t give this place good ratings even though we wanted to love it.
Lackluster is generous
We've stayed in luxury resorts all over the world. Never had one refuse us the complimentary airport shuttle, decline to call a cab for us, send a porter without the basic knowleedge of the room, not even have a chair in the room, not be able to provide two luggage racks, sell us on a panoramic room view that is largely obscured by a tree and decline a request to speak to the manager. On a positive note there is an onsite Aquatic Adventures team that gave us a memorable day with scuba, hiking and a Komodo Island visit that almost made up for the lackluster hotel.
This is an absolutely beautiful property. The rooms are so lovely as are the staff. Great service and great food. I loved that my room had a small yard that was beach front and a back garden for a bathroom. The beach was set up to watch the most beautiful of sunsets. Everything here was absolutely perfect! Thank you!! I wish I could have stayed longer!
Nice hotel ideal for komodo Island trips.Greatfood
The most incredibly friendly staff in a lovely beachfront hotel, an ideal hotel if you're going to do a trip to Komodo Island. The room was beautifully furnished in well tended gardens. The restaurant food was incredibly good we ended up not eating out at all as the hotel food was so good. The beach was very quiet and had nice views. Nice pool and pool area.
We had a wonderful stay!
The room was fabulous, big bed, beautiful view from the balcony, and modern shower and toilet. The premise looks pretty new, spa, pool, beach pool, gym etc. Location is about 10-15 mins ride to and fro downtown. Easy to get grab.
Every thing was good very quick to answer any question needed doing.
We enjoyed our time there we went back after the orginal stay it was welcoming and enjoyed our stay would be recommended
The property was immaculate. Even our beach was clear of plastics and rubbish (which is sometimes not the case in Indonesia). We had an ocean view room and it was amazing. The food was delicious and very reasonably priced. The staff were wonderful - friendly, happy and couldn't do enough for you.
The staff was extremely kind and made you feel very taken care of. The rooms were unique and beautiful.
This is a beautiful property. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. Beautiful place to relax, read, and enjoy beautiful sunsets!

If you get a room on the second floor be prepared for a steep walk up to your room! Some of the ground level rooms have a private outdoor shower and toilet. We had a couple of frogs and sometimes a small lizard watching us. The rooms closest to the reception you will notice a smell like sewage. It could be coming from the pond in the center courtyard, (the water is stagnant and dark green) but it does not affect the room, only if you are sitting out on the porch. Everything is very expensive, food, tours etc and the only transportation around the island is cab. Although over priced, the food was incredibly!
