Stayed for a few days. The room was a bit dated and our kitchen has zero plates, utensils, etc. The pool area was nice and the breakfast buffet was up to par with other places we've stayed. The gym hours are limited to daytime, so we weren't able to use it before breakfast as we normally would
Hotel pools very good! Room and aircon a little dated. Staff service very good. Food could have been better on the evening meals
Great food with a good variety. Good bar service and variety of drinks. Good entertainment all day and night. Not over crowded and plenty of sunbeds. The hotel was only a few minutes walk from the marina to so a good location. Negatives - it would benefit from a water filling station, the gym opened too late each day, snack bar could do with improvement and the a la carte restaurant was fairly inaccessible and not a good deal as had to pay a fair amount to use it. Overall we enjoyed our stay here.
We (family of 3) just returned from 9 nights stay in Sofianna Resort & Spa. The whole experience was fantastic, check-in was seamless, the room as expected, staff could not have been more helpful be it at the desk, restaurant, bars, pool, the housekeeping team or spa. Everyone had amazing customer service skills, and always a smile on their face, requests were pre-empted. The entertainment team was putting on a great show everyday. The pool was fantastic, no issue securing loungers, plenty of parasols to allow shade. The all-inclusive choice was plentiful with different themes each night: Asian, Mexican, Carvery, Italian, International, Greek & Cypriot The location of the hotel itself is within walking distance of main tourist attractions: the harbour, unesco archeological centre, ottoman baths, st Solomon’s catacombs and several orthodox churches, as well as the shopping mall. I treated myself to the ice facial on the last day, which was absolutely amazing. After days in the sun the treatment made my skin feel relaxed, moisturised and look much smoother; honestly the best facial I ever had. If I was to draw one negative it would only be to note that unlike other hotels I have stayed in in other countries, there was no information about tours displayed in the hotel lobby to guide guests. Perhaps a few leaflets could be useful though these can be found through the tour companies located 10min walk away in the harbour. Thanks to all at Sofianna for your hospitality and service!
Family vacation
Excellent family holiday to relax. The staff was extremely efficient and friendly. I highly recommend.
I always read reviews and do my homework before choosing a hotel. Here's my clear and honest opinion, hoping it helps others make the right choice. We arrived at the hotel around 10 PM due to late flights. The receptionist (unfriendly, likely from Taiwan or the Philippines) greeted us.A guy helped with the luggage and brought us sandwiches (not great, but appreciated). even a crib and baby bathtub for our toddler. The floor appeared clean but was sticky. Our crawling toddler's hands and knees were always dirty. Sheets weren't changed even after the scheduled three days, despite visible marks. Towels should be changed every two days or if left on the floor;ours weren't.Poolside seating was insufficient, forcing us to sit on the grass. The children's pool area lacked adequate shade, making it uncomfortable.Cocktails had minimal alcohol, tasting more like juice. The all-inclusive package included three types of draft beer.Bartenders were nice and friendly. The dining room had different food themes each night (Italian,BBQ,Mexican, etc.)The food was decent but not exceptional. Meat was often dry.Dining room staff were helpful and friendly. The receptionist was unhelpful with a late check-out request. We only needed an extra hour due to our taxi to the airport, but she insisted on charging half a night's cost. Our friends, who arrived with three kids, were made wait 40 minutes in the lobby use the facilities despite having an all-inclusive package. Overall, rate the trip a 7 out of 10
Not clean hotel
The cleanliness of the room was not clean The room was full of insects Plus we had blood on the blanket in the room, probably from a woman's period but Their spa is of a very high standard Rania and Paula made us feel special
Excellent - free parking - helpful friendly staff. Great experience all round.
An excellent resort with welcoming staff. All-inclusive food and snacks were top-notch and the rooms were cleaned everyday. Facilities ie. Pool and entertainment was superb 👌
overall a good hotel
hotel with good and bad things. Good - location, cleanliness, order. Not good - staff in dining room, explanation of hotel facilities at check-in, basic shower room ,not even body lotion . The hotel staff is charming and attentive, except for the dining room workers! We took half board and do not serve drinks at dinner to those on half board. Not even water!!! This needs to be fixed quickly! Other than that, overall a good hotel.
Πόλυ ωραιο ξενοδοχείο !!
What an amazing stay. See you next year!!!
Great location
Everything
Lovely hotel in an excellent location, convenient for the seafront and local facilities. Easy on site parking was a bonus.
Great stay, food and location
Amazing stay… pool areas lovely… food was really good and plenty of choice… hotel is minutes away from bar street.
Disappointing
Although the hotel is ranked as 4 stars the stay did not feel like in 4 star hotel Service at the reception was disappointing to say the list ans also the cleaning staff were rude
very basic hotel. we were disappointed as we expected something extra from a 9.0 rated "resort and spa" hotel. we stayed at this hotel for 5 nights, two adults and a baby. the good things we were happy about: very family friendly hotel with a nice kids club and baby pool. great crib for the baby provided upon request! our room (deluxe) was big, the bedroom was separated from sitting area so we could put the baby to sleep and stay in the living room. fridge in the room was big compared to other hotels. we stayed on an "all inclusive" - the food was nice and the variety was good. we especially liked the marking on each dish mentioning allergies! the not so good things we were disappointed from: first the location of the hotel is very misleading it seems like the center but actually it is surrounded by old living buildings and creapy alleys - not the nice part of pafos. also there are constructions that really damage the way to the beach. the bed and sofa were horrible! we had backaches all day. the sofa had an itchy fabric and it was gross to sit on. the view we got was to the trash bins and laundry so we didn't use the porch at all (i would mention the staff offered us another room with better view after two nights but it we decided not to move because of the baby). room design is old. there were no small shampoo due to "eco friendly" and they change the towels (which was not so nice) once in 2 days. we paid 310 usd per night-this is not a cheap hotel, not value for money.
very nice place especially for children
First time visiting- very modern and spotlessly clean. Staff are all friendly and helpful. Beautiful pools- cleaned every morning. Buffet breakfast a good quality and range of English and continental foods. Lots of activities and entertainment. Fantastic location to walk to old castle and harbour and many restaurants and tavernas. Very family friendly and safe.
Very family friendly, enough entertainment for little kids(4 years old). Great food
the room hade a few problems. day after they change us the room/ the hotel is non smoking and we didnt know. the breakfast is not so good the location is perfect!!
they must do something about cleaning this hotel!
overall the hotel is nice but - cleaning is something they should work on! pool is VERY dirty, pool floor (underwater) always full of bugs and sand. never cleaned during our 5 days stay. floor around the pool never washed. our 16 months child found can poop on the floor as well. breakfast - very very basic, don't have a variety of vegetables (only tomato and cucumber). no cream cheese of any normal spread to use. during check in - no one offered us help with our bags and we were with stroller, toddler, 2 big suitcases and 3 bags. the lady took us to the room with not even asking us if we need any help. They say they are changing towels every 2nd day but instead of changing them they just folded it and put it again (wet). We realized that when we saw the dirty towel we had from the day before. Location is great!
Beautiful renovated property, close to harbor
We very much enjoyed our stay at the Sofianna. It is a newly renovated property and felt very modern, and was a 5 minute walk to the harbor, 8 minute walk to a local supermarket. Service was very impressive. The only thing we regret is only receiving one pool towel each for three days, and requiring a 10 euro deposit for each. Shower towels were also only one each, and no lotion or extra amenities provided. It was fine for us, but below my expectations for a four star hotel.
Good, clean, family friendly environment
For sure we will go back to this hotel!!!!
We were only a few hours because our evening flight was cancelled and found another the next early morning. Even though we had a great experience! First all of the staff was very nice and friendly. The room was very big, clean and confortable as well as the bed. We went to the restaurant and eat the night buffet with extra charge. It was chinese and thai food. Everything was delicious with a very ample variaty of food specially since I am vegetarian. All the desserts were excellent! All the beverages were free including wine and beer. The staff at the restaurant was also very nice and helpful. The location is perfect, very close to the harbour, cafes and restaurants. For sure that if we go back to Paphos we will come to this hotel.
Lovely resort, Great location
Lovely resort in a great location. Staff were so welcoming and friendly. The housekeeping was ok but just a couple of points to note. We didn’t get clean towels every other day which is not a huge problem but something I’d like to mention. We didn’t get coffee replacement sachets a couple of days either. Really small points but the stay was not cheap.
Very happy with the hotel and would stay there again. Rooms, shared areas and pools are kept clean. Breakfast had good quality food and a good range; staff were busy replenishing it and clearing plates. Loads of restaurants, shops and the sea front within easy walking distance. Evening entertainment is provided. We loved the friendly hotel cats, but they won't hassle you if you're not a cat lover! We had a swim-up room. The pool for these is a good size and various floats are provided. For anyone choosing a swim-up room, I would recommend the standard one rather than the junior suite, as the latter don't get much sun. If you can get rooms 3012-3019, the sun is on these south-facing rooms from 10.30 at the latest in November to 15.00. You get your own sunbeds on the private terrace. One area for improvement is check-in. As the hotel has different unattached blocks, the staff are required to walk you to your room. We unfortunately arrived at a busy time and it took an hour to get us to our room. A map for such a time to give to guests who are happy to find their own way would be good. A water cooler in the gym would be a useful addition too. Thanks to all the staff for an overall great stay.
Nice resort hotel in the centre of Paphos
Lovely hotel in the centre of Paphos. A quick walk to the beach, restaurants, boardwalk etc. Breakfast was plentiful and quite good. I did not eat any other meals at the hotel so can’t speak to those options. Rooms are fairly clean, well appointed. My air conditioning wasn’t working the first night, but when I called the front desk in the morning they sent someone to fix it immediately. The pools are clean, there seemed to be a lack of “prime” pool loungers but I found one in the sun after some hunting.
Delightful stay
We had a poolside room that was amazing. It was roomy and very convenient for just being able to dip in the pool whenever you wanted. The convenience of not having to find a subbed and umbrella was priceless. The food was very varied and catered for all tastes consisting of vegetarian cold foods hot foods and pasta rice vegetables and of course a varied selection of childrens food. The only criticism I have is that there is no food available after 9pm whatsoever. We arrived at 9.30pm and was offered a stale sandwich. The cleanliness of the hotel was superb and the workers take great pride in their work. All staff are very friendly and attentive. Entertainment was good both day time and in the evening. Bingo seemed to go down very well at 9pm and it also added to the fun. We went as a couple but there were lots of families and it appeared to cater for all age groups and the mini disco in the evenings was always busy.
Great stay st the Sofianna Hotel and Spa
Stayed for 4 nights and had a very relaxing and comfortable stay. Had a very warm welcome when we arrived and was shown to our room and around the resort. Staff are very friendly and accomodating. Would thoroughly recommend this hotel for couples, friends and families.
Hotel with excellent service
I was very happy with my stay in this hotel. The service personnel is super friendly and well trained at the restaurant (special thanks to Marius & Stefan) whereas at the reception nearly all staff was new and hence they were not able to answer basic questions like restaurant opening hours, or nearest bus connections etc. - but this is understandable if no proper trainings/on boarding materials are provided. I booked all inclusive package which was worth it. Food was delicious and there was enough choice. The alcoholic beverages were simply low quality, but the selection of all-in spirits and cocktails was great. The indoor pool and sauna was a disappointment as a relaxing atmosphere was not guaranteed: sauna & jacuzzi costs 25€/h per person but as they are next to the indoor pool, there is no privacy at all. It's not possible to book the sauna in the evening when the pool is closed, and hence one can have kids jumping around while you "relax" in the sauna/jacuzzi. This was not very convincing concept for me so I ended up not using the sauna, which was a pity as sauna & spa was one of the reasons why I chose this hotel. Cleanliness of the room was fine if you don't look too close (I know I have high standards for cleanliness so most people are probably fine with the level the hotel has :-) Lastly, I found the location very convenient as the harbour and a mall are quick to reach, and the public bus from Paphos airport is less than 10 minutes walk away.
The staff and service at this hotel were excellent. I cannot fault anything. The food selection and quality was fabulous. The daily displays on the salad bar were a delight and the food was always fresh and tasty. The room was spacious and very clean, as was the whole hotel.
excellent service
Was just perfect wonderful kind and smiling staff doing everything to make the holiday perfect thank you
Wonderful break in the sun
Just returned from a weeks’ all-inclusive stay here. Such a lovely hotel. Only 5 min walk from the sea. The food was excellent with plenty of choice. They had a different theme for each evening. Ice cream available from the pool bar as part of the all-inclusive. The only thing worth mentioning is regarding the drinking water. If you wanted to have a bottle of water, you had to pay for it. However, they were more than happy to supply cups/glasses of it. We hired a car for a couple of days so knew we would not be around for lunch. As long as you order from reception before 6pm the night before, they will supply you with a “lunch box”. They take a 10 euro deposit as it comes in a solid cool box with ice pack. When you take the box back – they return the 10 euros. Inside was water, juice box, ham & cheese sandwich, cake and fruit. Entertainment was provided in the evenings – how this compares to what is provided in the height of the season I don’t know. In November it was a mini disco for the children. Followed by a show – whether that be by the animation team or an outside act. Then they did bingo. The entertainment was generally finished by 9.30pm. Just a word on the pool – it was freezing. The sea was warmer to swim in. They do have a snack bar open 12-5pm – Mylos All Day Snacks. The staff were very helpful and friendly. I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel.
Nice hotel great location
The hotel is in a great location, close to the promenade and all the restaurants, taverns and pubs. Pleasant and friendly service from everyone we received service from, especially at the reception. Good, rich and varied breakfast. Less things I liked: unpleasant smell at the shower/toilets, the shower was large but dark, the shower head is small and ryou have to be very near the wall to take shower (instead of a large shower head to be placed in the ceiling). It is not possible to make / order a cappuccino with soy milk, the variety of fresh vegetables at breakfast is poor, the captions on the products were not (for those who maintain a healthy diet, this is important), the hotel did not provide an early breakfast for those who left very early in the morning. Cultural activities until late (we knew in advance so we did not complain, but it was a bit disturbing)
The name resort and spa isn’t related to this hotel. We came to relax but the hotel was full with kids, we took a pool view room , it was next to speakers , music from 10 am till 18 so no option to rest on the noon. For families this is a great hotel , for couples that wants to relax find yourself a better one
HOTEL WAS FINE BUT THE LOUD LIVE MUSIC WHICH CONTINUED UNTIL 11PM WAS UNACCEPTABLE TO ANYONE WHO WANTED A QUIET EVENING OR TO GO TO SLEEP.
Highly recommended hotel
Great breakfast! Nice comfee rooms amazing 2 pools.
Great!!!
A very good hotel!!! Clean, the service was great and quick, will definitely come back in the future
Very nice resort with helpful friendly staff. Only issue was parking, which is very limited and there is very little parking in the vicinity including street parking.
Amazing Holiday
Amazing stay at Sofianna! great location, clean and modern hotel, great SPA, friendly team. Highly recommended
Couple holiday
Everything was great ! The food is pretty much the same all the time, and you have to pay for your drink's (soft drinks as well) in lunch and dinner. The stuff was rwally nice and helped us at all times.
The hotel is located very well, close to touristic attractions, restaurants and bars, not far from the local mall and only few km from the old city. The staff was amazing, kind and helpful! We’ve got a corner room with a pool access, it felt like we have our private pool! The food was good.
Good value hotel. Average service.
Newly renovated hotel in central Paphos. Good size pools. Rooms were comfortable, bathrooms basic, but clean. Gym was of a high standard. However, only opens at 10am, so I was unable to use it, as this was a working trip and the main reason why I booked the hotel. Very disappointed. The hotel service is not great, but good value for money. Due to the inflexible hours of the gym I would not stay again
Very nice place and comfortable
We loved very much the rooms access the pool .. it’s very comfortable and special .
Great stay even with covid restrictions
Hotel was very well located close to bars& restaurants and 5 mins walk to the beach.Rooms were cleaned every 2 nd day, may be due to COVID. Overall a good trip
