The best shower in a hotel I have ever had friendly staff ! To be honest not the flashiest place but wonderful stay for what we were looking for.
Was very quiet apart from the morning parrots which were quite Charming close to town so you can just walk in and out
Property manager was lovely.
The property is cute & charming. It’s conveniently located walking distance to the bowling club & the pub- both were great for dinners. It would be great to see them have the restaurant and bar up and running again at the property itself, the communal area was great for the kids to play and for us to all sit by the fireplace.
Basic accomodation that was clean and friendly staff. Big rooms. Reccommend
On arrival I went to reception to check in the lovely lady there upgraded us from a standard family room to a superior family room. I was happy at her generosity, until we walked into our room! If this was a superior room, id hate to see what the standard room looked like! You walk in the door and your basically in the bathroom but also where the fridge is. Then there was a lounge with a queen bed and 3.other single beds. The queen bed felt like it was missing half the springs and the ones that were left stabbed you almost to death all night, the sigles not much better you just sunk into the middle of them unable to move. The whole room was dirty and smelt horrid. The carpets were filthy. One aircon that blew hot air but by the time it reached you the air was frozen and made a horrible broken fan noise and there where no extra blankets! Our third child that we paid extra for didnt even get a towel! The shower still had someones left over soap, the toilet was uncleaned. There was no restaurant or bar as advertised, the pool was filled in to now be a garden, rubbish all over the property. The $2 advertised laundry became $10. And the kicker was we couldnt even speak to anyone about our problems as we were the only guests reception was shut and the facility was unattended! Never ever will we stay in this hell hole again, run for the hills this place is an absolute dump and far from the resort it was advertised to be!
Hotel doesnt look anything like the pictures online inside. There was blood stains on our mattress base. The shower was horrible. No pressure and would go from a set temp to boiling hot. You couldnt add cold water and it would turn into a dribble.
Mould in vicinity. Staff does not know emergency procedures. There was no electricity for one night and staff just wondering to find out where are the electric meter boxes. They don’t have any plans in plans to provide consistent message to the guests. They were checking wth owners for next steps and they lock and close the reception instead of guest rooms did not have electricity/ heating.
After a big day at the snow was nice to come to room that didnt smell and had very clean room and linen. photos on website were modern and didnt match rooms but room was spacious. Tv worked without issues. Games room only had 2 out of 4 working (no pool or ice hockey) and would have been nice to have big fireplace on, especially given its winter. But overall a nice stay..
No electricity whole night they couldn’t fix it stayed awake whole night with three kids crying Can’t even milk bottle for little one because of electricity there’s no hot water Terrible experience first time experienced it in Australia No one even picking up phone at reception We were on our own in that situation .
There was insufficient water supply for shower, was dropping or stopped during the shower.
Comfortable stay with a warm retro vibe. Kids loved the games room and the fire in the lounge area was lovely. Property is in need of a face lift but that is perhaps part of the charm and right for the price. Manager was friendly and very helpful.
While the room was spacious, the fold out sofa bed was not required so I folded it up. The carpet beneath was filthy with pieces of food - popcorn, dry noodles - and fluff. Obviously had not been cleaned since the last occupant. While I understand the exorbitant prices are necessary for a shorter season, at least spend that money on adequate cleaning. I would not recommend, nor will I return.
nice
Property is tired and old. Definitely not a ‘resort’. Room was basic, kettle and small UHF milk but no tea / coffee. Iron, no ironing board. Dining & Games room closed for the season. Pool is filled in with dirt and weeds, One staff member in complex who was in a room and not reception area, was nice enough. Rooms / bedding nothing like pics. We cleaned ??? of the wall next to a bed.
Excellent property for fishing holidays
Had the bare basics for a quick stop over
A very run down property and none of the communal areas were operating. No safety chain on the room door. Lady who worked there was nice. Ok for price I suppose but it did feel dodgy.
Property needs a Reno to relive its glory days and a microwave honestly what hotel doesn’t have a microwave!
In a great location for access to exploring the Snowy Mountains. Rooms and property facilities are due for some maintenace and updating. Nice and quite venue and friendly staff.
Flooding to front concrete verandah even in light rain
nice and roomy quiet room
Spacious, quiet
We loved the much larger room we had with the cooking facilities and the large bathroom. The room suited our requirements perfectly. Next time we are visiting Adaminaby we will be definitely staying here again and hopefully get the same room.
Basic but clean
We arrived very late due to a detour On phoning the property to advise of this, the lady was extremesly helpful She left our room key in the door and turned on the heating for us Just fabulous after a horrendous drive through the mountains on a dark, foggy night pouring with rain. Lucky I asked about the restaurant though as it is closed for renovations as is the bar. There is a bowls club nearby. No wifi in the rooms, otherwise clean and comfortable. The bathroom sink is outside the bathroom
The staff were friendly, but the room that we booked in the picture was different from what we got. The heater stopped working at night which caused inconvenience for us. Bring your own cups and plates as there were none.
Property is okay but customer service could be a lot better. Staff were cooperative though. Room bit smelly due to pest maybe. Heating, fridge and playing area was the best. You can even play tennis, table tennis, many arcade games, pool, foosball etc. Loved the big chimney in the middle of big lounge of common area, and sofas. Make you feel in cosy home
Comfortable, warm and clean. Good sized rooms. About 40 min drive to Mt Selwyn
The property was easy to locate and conveniently located. Staff were quite friendly. Breakfast and dinner is served in the restaurant attached to the reception. There's a small play and recreational area. Plenty of onsite parking. Room was specious and as advertised. Found a bit of rubbish under one of the bed which was a bit of a disappointment. Overall a decent place close to Selwyn to spend the night.
Restaurant and bar was closed, if we had known it was going to be closed we would have stayed somewhere else. Shower leaked badly. I had to ask for clean towels as the room was not serviced.
Excellent large communal area with a fireplace and amusement area.
Very Dated rooms and bathroom, common area didn't feel welcoming for the family.
The room was dirty there was mould in the shower there was dirt and the bathroom the carpet wasn't clean it had a musty smell it just wasn't good
Close to Selwyn snow resort. Needs a good facelift though.
Great food friendly staff and large kid friendly public area.
It was somewhere warm to stay near Mt Selwyn. It had enough beds.
We had no water for our showers. Hot or cold. Our heater did not work at all. I contacted reception and the owner told me to go outside of the property and reset the air con fuse myself. Keep in mind this is in the snowy mountains with no water to showers or not heating! I want a full refund. Completely devastated
Rooms were clean and bedding was really comfy but toilet didn't work properly and water pressure in shower was very erratic and sometimes non existent. Food was delicious from restaurant resembling good home cooking
Its a basic hotel. However the room was warm, beds comfortable and pretty clean if a little run down. I appreciated the range of food for dinner (daughter could have pizza, i had delicious vegetarian Indian food).
No signal on tv and heater on the wall wasnt working.
I enjoyed the friendly staff.location and the town has great facilities.
The common area / games room was fantastic. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. The $5 espresso coffee..absolutely terrible! Tasted like milky water! Food was fairly average for the price. But would definitely stay there again.
We were a little disappointed with our stay. Room was not ready when we turned up so we were given another room. Wifi is at main desk area only. Generally cold in main areas with staff always wearing parkas and having to ask them to put fire on. Website advertised kids movie nights but didn’t happen even though I asked. Tv was always on the footy channel. Room didn’t have a hairdryer which made showering difficult. Staff were drilling at bar area at 5pm on Saturday night so rather than wanting to curl up next to the fire after a day at the snow, we felt a little like being on a worksite. Plus side was that our room was clean and warm and freshly painted. Games room is good for the kids. Property in a good position and within walking distance to bowling club.
Better value than the other alternatives in Adaminaby
Didn’t seem that friendly and welcoming, although no one was rude to us. It feels like a place that needs some love.
Great location!
Great location around 30mins from Selwyn snow fields. Clean and comfy great little hotel!
It bore no relationship to what was advertised. If we hadn’t paid we would have looked elsewhere. We will not return
A little dated, but a good place to stay in this small town.
Ok,not a resort any more...............................
We stayed at this motel for a jumping off point for a visit to the Yarrangobilly Caves. The room was clean and functional. The A/C worked well in keeping the room cool on a hot summer day. Apparently there's only free wifi in their restaurant - which isn't open in summer. We didn't have much interaction with the staff, other than picking up the key on arrival. In fact, the office was closed in the morning - but the tradesmen renovating on the pool were able to answer out questions. It seemed like the motel was partly mothballed awaiting the ski season.
Goods shower good bed, floors needed cleaning and benches plus close to pub
I was disappointed the receptionist couldn’t find our booking at first but that was because at 2pm she still didn’t know what day it was The room doors were open we walked into our room to find the outside table ashtray full of cigarette butts The bathroom old and could have been cleaned better The furnishings old and unpleasant The room overall wasn’t great. We were very disappointed doesn’t cost much to throw a coat of paint to freshen the place up
Coffee cups were dirty. A very basic room in a quiet little rural town.
Comfortable rooms, but grounds need some maintenance to present the property properly. Also check in staff were not aware that the room was paid for via Wotif.
We have stayed here several times. Always friendly, very clean, good-size room, comfortable bed
Restaurant serves nothing but some frozen pre-packed stale stuff of no quality.
simple well priced accomodation. i think we stayed in the older appartments but still very clean and adequate and a great location to enjoy Mt Selwyn snow and the beautiful surrounds. Very friendly and helpful manager.
Higher prices than last year and dusty room conditions gave a less than satisfactory feeling. Heating was good with the reverse cycle AC looking relatively new. Food quality is very basic and not on par with captial city restaurants.
Hotel is close to beach and when I arrived no one and I waiting 1/2 hour to one coming to the office and do check in
Handy for selwyn
The place was ok , a bit tired and dated but quite adequate for a couple of days.and the heating was fine
How difficult is it to have a microwave and a bar fridge within in the room. We had to take the food to the main verandah to warm it up which involves a walk to the office out in the cold winter of snowy mountain. I thought ours was the only room like that until i bumped upto another family with a bunch of kids who said they did not have a microwave in their room either.
Friendly service and family friendly amenities
The resort is a little dated but the lounge, dining and arcade areas are really family friendly and make the stay more enjoyable. It would be great if the fridge in the room was a little bigger but the other facilities were fine. I would consider staying there again next snow season. The owners were friendly and helpful too.
Don't think it deserves the status of resort. Not very high quality appointments dated. Found someone else's sock in bed and a someone else's hair tie and used chewing gum in the the shower. Food was ok.
Budget accommodation lacking its former atmosphere
We stayed here 2 years ago at this cheap but functional accommodation close to the Selwyn snowfields. One of the great features was a vibrant lounge/bar area with well-maintained pool & table tennis tables, free WiFi, etc. This has largely been lost with the new management - it's more run-down and closes quite early in the evening (officially 9pm), leaving guests in comfortable but spartan rooms (with no WiFi). Common areas were not clean, nor were cutlery/crockery etc. Continental breakfast was still the same price but far fewer options. Dining menu has gone from well-prepared mid-range cuisine to cheaper, hostel-style. Still an OK option for snow accommodation on a budget, but it has lost its former charm and true value for money.
Disappointed.. EXTREMELY uncomfortable beds
After ringing the day of our trip and realising the booking was paid for but never taken down (they didn’t know we were coming) after no apology luckily they had a spare room!! When we got there we discovered a used condom wrapper on the floor ! The beds were soooooo uncomfortable that after one night of next to no sleep we put the other beds mattress on top of the one we had so it had at least a little cushioning on it but still had very sleepless nights. Then came the shower ! If anyone else in the building was having a shower at the same time it would trickle out of the shower head no where near close enough to have a shower ! It was terrible ! Overall the stay was pretty much ruined by a poorly maintained/ cleaned hotel. My partner had stayed here many times over the years and safe to say will NEVER be coming back nor will family and friends.
Nice hotel close to the snow
Excellent service wonderful location love to visit again
Nice pleasant Motel. There is a "disco" each night for the kids to dance along to, a games area with electronic games and pool tables. During winter you can sit around not 1 but 2 roaring wood fireplaces. The rooms are decently sized and while slightly dated in appearance they are comfortable and that's all that really matters. Don't come here looking for a Mercure. Think Best Western. In saying that though we are already making plans to return here next year again during snow season.
Far from the hustle and bustle of cities.
Awesome experience love to go again. Nice staff.
Close to ski fields
Old resort, facilities are very tired. Expensive in comparison to newer motels in other areas.
The staff were amazing and so so friendly. The cost was very good value. I have already recommended Snowy Mountains resort to my family and friends. Food was great. The kids loved the entertainment area and we loved sitting around their fires. Will definately go back again.
NICE TO GET AWAY
FRIENDLY STAFF, FRIDGE/FREEZER WAS NOT WORKING, WITHIN 10 MINUTES WAS REPLACED WITH A NEW ONE. 10 OUT OF 10, WELL DONE
Friendly staff. Rooms are old but verl clean. Beds were good. Restaurant food was very sub standard. $15 hamburger was worse than a home made ,by kids , one. A supermarket patty , 1/2 lettuce leaf ,1/2 slice of tomato. On an not overly fresh bun. A friends pizza took over 1hr to arrive and it was only a chease one. Bar staff were nice and bar wasn't to badly priced. I understand they are new owners settling in.
Good for what it is
It is an old motel - probably not a resort as such. However the owners put in a lot of effort and were obliging given they had a lot of demands on them (snow season). The games room was welcome (travelling with 4 kids) and had a roaring fire in it. We only stayed one night and there weren't many options but I wouldn'd discount it. It was perfect for what we needed.
Everything was very well taken care of and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Also very family friendly.
Great location for snow
Close to snow but quite dated. Room has minimal power points so bring a power board. No food making facilities in room. Air con was toasty warm though. Location was great
* Room was still dirty when checked in. Tables still had sticky glass stains, toenail found in bed. *Shower had no hot water night 1 then no pressure in morning. * Drink prices changed every time ordered depending on who served you. *Public amenities filthy. *Completly looks and feels as though has not been cleaned or looked after in a decade.
The hotel is in a fantastic location if travelling to Selwyn ski field. The room was big and warm; unfortunately I felt like the resort was an old, tired, neglected elegant old lady- screaming out for attention and for someone to give her the tender loving care she so desperately needs and deserves, but is not getting. My heart felt sad for this resort; it has all the foundations for greatness, but needs some attention- I don't feel current management is doing her justice. Room wasn't serviced or cleaned during a three day stay, fresh linen wasn't provided.
Stopped on our way to snow. Get what you pay for. Recommend the Bakery for dinner We were only there to sleep so did not use any of the facilties
Nice and near to Selwyn Snow field.
Nice place with good staff. Easy to communicate. We enjoyed our stay at the hotel
Nice room, extra heater in room this time was great! Shame other people park in front of your room so you have to park somewhere else.
Used washers were left in bathroom. Didn’t feel professional attitude from hotel staff. Overall stay was ok.
Nice Place, close to Shopping Centre
I had seen some reviews not in favor of the place and i was kind of skeptic about it but overall the experience was good. the place has new Management altogether so guys to give them a visit and see it for yourself.
Convenient position to selwin ski resort. Close to adiminiby town centre for pub/bistro for dinner, cafe's for breakfast, grocery store, park, public toilets. All very good! Nice little town! Comfortable, spacious room. Not much was open in "resort" still being worked on. Meals seemed like a special request. Bedding needed to be sweeped out, heater struggled( but was good for drying snow gear!) That said excellent price, good size and layout, close conveniences, would stay again! Thanks!
Very central to town center, easy access from hway
Nothing as advertised. I arrived at 4pm approx Saturday, reception was unattended. I rang the bell but had to go looking for the staff member. It was a cool afternoon and although i paid in advance there was no heating on in the room and the air-conditioning was cool only. It took quite a period of time to get the room to a comfortable temperature. The room was spacious and comfortable but certainly not the deluxe room i selected. The fridge worked well but was noisy, and there was no hairdryer. The shower was excellent but had duct tape holding the shower rose. Despite very obvious cob webs in the timber paneling above the vanity, the room and bathroom was otherwise very clean. There were no eating facilities in house although all internet advertising suggested otherwise, including a illuminated road sign RESTAURANT. There was very limited lighting in the room. In defense of the establishment, i believe it is under new management and a major overhaul is intended.
The room was dirty.one of a bed has hair on the pi
Only me booked this hotel at the night. No wifi and microwave in the room. No BBQ in this facility. So many restrictions.
False advertising as I only booked that accommodation because you advertised it had a restaurant and bar and we did not want to drive anywhere to eat dinner. We were told by locals at the pub, where we had to drive to to have a meal, that there has not been a bar or restaurant for many months. The room was clean enough but the bathroom needs bleach for the mould in the grout. the bathroom needs a complete makeover. Mattress was like sleeping on a rock. Heater didn't work. I don't know how it can be referred to as a resort!!! I stayed at the Batlow Hotel for $65 a night which was so much better. I think I deserve a discount or refund on the stay at the so called Snowy Mountain Resort and Function Centre.
OK Motel
It’s an OK motel, given that there’s not a lot of choice in Adaminaby. We stayed in Adaminaby because it was the only choice that fitted into our driving plans, not much happening there at our time, obviously the place comes more alive in ski season.
Nobody home
Booked and received confirmation of booking at 5:00pm. Drove to Adaminaby from Cooma and the reception was locked up for the night. A key had been left in an envelope stuck to the reception door for another guest. Nothing for me so I had to hunt round for other accommodation. If you book this place you need to speak to someone at the motel to ensure you can actually check in. Caravan Park at the other end of town was only other accomodation available and was surprisingly comfortable.
The room smelt of bleach for most of the night and there was no wifi in the rooms.Very disappointing for the price😩
Sign shows Restaurant and Bar, these were closed; obviously wrong season! Pub up the road Mother goose was great though for a feed. Dont forget to fill up with fuel; both fuel stations were shut by time i arrived and didnt open before i left.
We stayed there for 1 night the hotel was very clean and had a good price.
Bar & restaurant closed
It would have been good to know the bar and restaurant was closed for low season.
Misleading advertising
The website states that the resort has a restaurant. On arrival it emerged that the restaurant is closed for most of the year. The reception staff member was apologetic and cancelled the reservation without charge. A sign outside the resort also proclaims its restaurant. Misleading advertising suggests to me that travellers should not trust this place and should look elsewhere.
Great Value
Very comfortable accommodation and spotlessly clean. Would recommend and use again.
Snowy Mountains Resort
No complaints about the motel itself however the Wotif site claimed that there was only one room available when in fact the place was empty and we were the only guests in the place as it was off season. The only person there was the caretaker and the manager was on holidays. To repeat the only problem was the miss information on the Wotif site about room availability.
Was there in spring so no restaurant but room was spacious & clean. A microwave would have been useful.
Not nice at all.
Wouldn't stay there again. Didn't see any staff while we stayed there and everything was closed.
30min to snow
Area is beautiful n hotel basic but clean n well presented. We had a basic room and no microwave but otherwise room was good for the night.
Upgrade
No heating in the bathroom, we came from Darwin and froze after our shower!

The property was very unkempt. I have never seen windows so dirty, bugs lined window sills, cob webs aplenty. If there had been a broom I would have swept the small outdoor area. A very long time since outdoor table/chairs had been wiped. Beds ok, plenty of hot water in shower. Almost 3 month out of date milk. Lots of potential, but in need of some
