Has a mini kitchen. Good location
I liked everything, especially the quietness.
Stayed here for a short break. Felt the online key fob was annoying at first as we arrived early and it wouldn’t allow us to check in early. No person to talk to and we only realised the situation when the same thing had happened to other customers. Felt the bedroom was very small as had to climb over bed to get into.No space at all around bed. Also we were in an apartment on the main road and it was quite noisy with traffic and people clubbing opposite.I choose these apartments as the reviews said in a quiet location.Clearly this wasn’t the case. Apartment was very clean and kept well,
Fair value - comfortable space
Hotel location is convenient - not central but still very close. The size of the room is also good. We had a few issues upon check in but the staff in the office and online were happy to help. What became a challenge was the entrance - the main door is closed from about 9pm to 8 or 9 am. I was traveling with my grandmother. You are redirected to enter and exit via the basement which has stairs and no elevator option. This became an issue with carrying luggage and after a long day of walking. There is also a pad in the lobby that lets you book cabs - but we couldn’t get to the lobby during this to book a cab for the morning. Overall we enjoyed our stay and thought it was a fair value, but really wish we knew about this accessibility issue.
Great property in a good location
Cold Property, you can near through the walls and the couch was broken. Just a not comfortable place.
Good option to stay in Tromso. Most things are walkable distance and is just around 18 minutes from the aurport by bus. Very comfortable and has everything you need for your stay
Impersonal
This is a staff-less all-digital hotel. Therefore it is very impersonal and can be frustrating when something digital doesn’t work, like the key system. (Even Lumen Industries has more personal interaction.) Having a kitchen saved us money from the expensive food prices for everything in Tromso.
Nice location and very quiet
Great place to stay! The online check in process, app to use the key, room and facilities were all great! The hotel is walking distance from the main part of town, walking distance from the bus stop, and a grocery store is right next door. Would highly recommend for a low frills, easy and safe place to stay while exploring Tromso.
I really enjoyed my stay at Skaret by Vander, it was very clean and well provisioned, check in was simple and so was the laundry. I would recommend earplugs as the area can be quite loud in the early morning!
Great location - no amenities - comfortable enough
Decent stay in the middle of tromso, however there were no front desk and all assistance were only available online, so it takes a while to get help.
Well located and reasonably priced. Had all the amenities we would need.
Great property and location , I don’t about parking , small room but is ok to fees day , no lobby no person nobody to see .
Check the fridge the moment you check in. The housekeepers don’t reset it and it might not work. Pipes going through the ceiling makes dripping noise for hours in the middle of the night. I think it’s due to melting snow or rain. Be aware. Otherwise it’s wonderful. Lovely property.
I found the apartment very clean, efficient, well loc as ted to sites, restaurants and a grocery. Everything is done electonically and no one is on site which can be a little challenging. We were not able to enter the lobby after hours and had an early morning departure socould not use the online cab hailing device and had to walk to a hoteltoorder it, a minor inconvenience.
Great property but this is a surcharge for any extras
Very cozy mini apartments. Well stocked kitchenette (appliances, plates, pans, etc). Comfy bed. Next door to a large grocery store and centrally located. A laundry room was a plus. Nice gym that we didn’t use- no room for gym shoes in our luggage. Very secure with in-app key access to building and apartment.
Great property…once you’re in. There is no front desk so the whole check-in process is frustrating, having to download apps and follow numerous instructions etc. Room also wasn’t ready on time. Outside of check-in problems the room was really nice and I was lucky enough to have amazing views over the harbour.
Enjoyable Stay
It’s an unmanned property which has its pros and cons. I would have liked to have a coffee machine at the ground floor considering the weather - I appreciate the filter machine in the room but I believe it would make the stay more comfortable to have a few vending machines and a coffee machine in the basement. Room size was adequate and with good views. There is no housekeeping but would have appreciated if towels and linen could have been changed every 3 days instead of every 7 days. Overall, we had an enjoyable stay.
Great location for all things. Easy link to/from airport, shops, restaurants and tourist area. Office is manned occasionally so useful for any issues. Only issue is lack of on site cafe, food options if you arrive late or Sunday when most places are closed.
This place was nice. It was nice to have an apartment style room with a kitchen. I had a few problems though. Neither my app nor the kiosk worked for check in, so I had to go to the office. By the time I had my key card, there were three other groups waiting with the same problem. I was also disappointed that there wasn’t a microwave, but maybe they’re not common in Norway.
Good option for Tromso stay
Interesting fully digital hotel. Staff is minimal, but everything seems to work as described. And digital key through their app actually works. Property is very new, everything is clean and in good shape. Location is good and walkable to everything in Tromso.
This property is a hidden gem in City Center, very close to all the attractions, restaurants, with a large indoor hotel within the Vander property. Staff is very courteous and they go above and beyond to help people out, patiently. Vander also tours, outstanding Wi-Fi access, free luggage room, and convenient stores within a few feet. I strongly recommend this place for stays more than 5 days to a week.
Great location. Quiet. Easy check in and check put
Nice interior and like a cozy house! Quiet and safe place. Bit small for 4 people though (no space to open 4 luggages at one go). Good location, near a supermarket, restaurants and the pier.
Property nice, tidy and clean but doors made noises at all hours day and night which prevented good sleep Other than that it was very quiet in good location and easy access to everything
The property was very responsive to question, location was safe and in a central area. Highly recommend!
Can cook with the food bought from nearby supermarket
Our stay was perfect! A slight hiccup initially with the room not being ready due to cleaning (30 mins after stated check in) but other than that it was awesome. The rooms are cozy and get the job done. There’s a sushi restaurant in the lobby and the office is on the 2nd floor if you need help. Walkability to the shops and meeting points for excursions was very convenient. I would say roughly 10-15 min walk to get to most places you need. There’s also a taxi queue right outside so that’s convenient. Side note…when you make your booking on Expedia, be aware that they will send you an email 14 days out to fully pay for the stay. There is no pay on site. Highly recommend for the price and location compared to other hotels
Our stay was absolutely fantastic! The place was very clean, quiet, and incredibly comfortable—definitely better than a hotel. It’s within easy walking distance of everything, and it made our holiday in Norway one of the best we've ever had. We highly recommend pre-booking your stay and asking for a sea view, as these options aren't available on some booking sites like Expedia, but can be arranged separately. We used the Get Your Guide app to book tours, and it made the trip even more amazing. We experienced whales, orcas, and the northern lights, making this trip hard to beat. To top it off, the room was so comfortable! Highly recommended!
The only thing I don’t like: Room without windows
It’s not big room but very convenient location.
Location was not in the very centre but Tromso city is not big so it's easy to walk everywhere. Rooms were a little squeezy so we had to move things around to fit our two luggages to not trip over them. We stayed here mainly because there was the kitchen which was stocked well with all that was needed like your pots and pans and plates and bowls and cutleries. There is no daily cleaning. We were ok with that but it would be nice to have a change of towels every 3 days. We stayed for 5 nights and just having 1 floor towel was kind of hard as it got dirty pretty quickly. Beds were comfy and there was a TV you could connect your straming services to.
The room that I was allocated was a strange shape and the bed seemed to be jammed in the space. No bedside tables or space to the side of the bed. The space was awkward in the bedroom area. The rest of the place was clean and pleasant, good location close to all areas of Tromso.
Nice hotel with 3 days stay
Fantastic hotel. Clean and new. No Human interaction needed, just need to download Vander apps and all went according to what was told.
Conveniently located! Would have rated this 5* if there was daily housekeeping! Otherwise all good, will definitely book it again if am back in Tromso
Better signs for night entrance.
Condition of property is good, and well located near and within walkable distance to various tourist spots. Rooms are clean and well furnished. However parking is a problem if you have a car. There are no onsite parking available,
Many constraints and so sophisticated rules
Great base to explore Tromsø from!
It was one of the best stay options we had in norway... convenient, clean and very perfectly located
Its one of the bestttt brands to stay with... we stayed in their oslo property and then in tromso... oh my god now i feel i have become loual to this brand for the convenience cleanliness and comfort their apartments give❤️
An excellent place with small kitchen. Great location. Comfy bed. Shower a bit strange but ok. Fantastic how hot water begins instantly! Check in was a little strange but manageable. You must download their app to navigate which I had issue with. All staff were delightful
Their phone app did not work for opening up the door. We had to call them and they had to reset it for us. The property is beautiful and amazing. It's quiet and in a great location. The coffee maker didn't work for us and we couldn't get some of the lights to turn on. I would stay there again, but they're not worthy of five stars because of the problems we had.
The property was very small and had no views at all. Felt very claustrophobic. The photographs of the property cleverly hid these facts that the room was indeed very small. The quality of all furniture, appliances, amenities were very premium. Only space was the issue.
We had an issue with the electronic key but were able to resolve them and it didn’t impacted our stay. Might be challenging to get in if you are arriving outside of office working hours. Comfortable bed, big windows, big bathroom, walking everywhere (Tromso is very small). I would stay here again :)
The hotel is conveniently located near the downtown shopping, restaurants, and supermarkets. It is also very clean with all necessary amenities. Would highly recommend.
Excellent option. It is very close to many grocery stores and to key areas in Tromso. The facilities are really good and the building is safe.
The location is excellent. There is a grocery store right next door, mall behind the building. I would have liked if they would have provided cleaning services during our stay. We stayed for 9 days and our unit was not cleaned even once. I also requested to do it at least once but nothing.
Simple and easy with clear instructions. Staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend this properly to stay at.
Would highly recommend
This place is amazing! Clean, beautiful space and overall just a wonderful place to stay for the price
Modern automated hotel.
Check in/out okay once I got my head around the peculiarities of the system. I would have preferred human staff. Access to left luggage was a pain at the weekend. Room.... Very well kitted out, bed very soft and the mattress topper kept shifting. A sound choice, but I'd prefer a traditional hotel.
Booking this off the internet and was a bit cautious on what we would find overall, its a simple and clean hotel. quiet place, didn’t see many others. Would gladly stay here again.
Very well equipped and appointed accommodation.
Great place, but need active mobile phone service
Great apartment, very clean, and in an excellent location. However, the app-based key system may be a challenge for foreign visitors not wanting to take mobiles off airplane mode and pay for roaming charges. Twice the wifi in the building could not be picked up at the night entrance door (that must be used between 9pm to 9am) so had to use cellular data and pay for roaming twice for just a 2 second use of the app to unlock the door, which was really unfortunate.
Lake of communication!!!! We arrived at the airport in Norway and still had not received the code to get in our room. Took a few international calls before we could finally get into the room!!! Unacceptable!!!!
Great location. Lovely flat with everything that we needed. Clean, quiet and comfortable.
We liked the location and found it easy to walk to the city center. The amenities were great. We loved all the space we had.
9.9
Everything was very good. The place is beautiful, comfortable and well located. The lack of human contact makes a little difficult somas easy things like getting tour room key.
Really enjoyed staying here. Would recommend. Clean, well-appointed apartment with view out to Fjord as requested. Well situated in easy walking distance of city attractions, tour pick up locations, shops, bars & restaurants. Very quiet. Comfy bed, but very thin duvets had to put on more layers to go to bed!! Found electronic key on phone useful as easy late access by night door usefulon arrival & after tours, but restrictive as we both had to be together all the time. Would be useful if key facility could be made available to other guests sharing the apartment. Restaurant on ground floor but limited opening so didn't use.
Stayed in apt 505, the doorknob gets jammed from the inside. Making it hard to get out of the apt. Suggest replacing it with a new one. Overall my experience was great!
The bed was very uncomfortable. The location was great, it was nice and clean.
Other than a few minor things it was a really good experience and the room was exactly what we needed.
Great location. Small room, but good enough. All facilities in the room are working well. Will be really nice to have some basic condiments such as salt and pepper in the kitchen. The host was helpful to ensure we could check in via message & email. Apart from that there is not much information about the room and the stay. The contactless check in process and information about the stay could be improved.
The apartment was nice but the entry and exit was troublesome. I couldn’t get entry code and had to go to the office to get room keys. On hindsight having a room key was beneficial as the friends we were with had issues with their entry code. Also heard other guests having issues with the access codes. The other issues we experienced was the inability to enter and exit the complex after hours on the main level. Especially troublesome having to carry luggage up and down stairs from and to the lower level.
Nice room but dumb trash eco friendly ideas
Property was very nice, the room was small but very efficient. I liked the location too. My only complaint was the trash. I was instructed to separate all my trash into different bags and then take to a central location. The central location didn't have separated cans. So what was the point of being so mindful of this process?
Nice property. But there was no couch in living area. Communications were very poor. It is a no contact check in and I did not get my email that I needed to get information to check in.
Great experience!
Really good really good location. Walking distance to town centre. Do you have shops restaurants, sporting centres where you can hire sporting equipment, a lovely restaurant downstairs, which we thoroughly enjoyed overall really enjoyed it. Clean spacious. We are family of five and really enjoyed it.
The room was fine but i did have struggles with the door, the mobile key didnt work and would unlock the gym and then when i did get a key the doors seal was coming off so you had to keep reseating it or it wpuldnt latch properly. Since this was on the second floor (the only one on the elevatorthat doesnt require a key) this also raised concerns about safety. Also the room wasnt ready for checkin over an hour after time was ready, and i did confim my arrival time in advance. The room was clean though and right in the city center bwhich was convenient.
Norway vacation
I had a beautiful corner room with a window that opened a small amount, it was perfect since I am used to air conditioner. The place was clean and comfortable. Just ask for additional towels and sheets .
Fantastic stay
We had a fantastic stay, new years eve, northern lights tour in tromso. Vander was a great location and met all our needs
Decent for price, wouldn’t come back.
The communication is terrible. They’re not open after a certain time so we helped tons of people just get into the building that came in at night. They’re definitely needs to be someone there 24/7, you have to plan ahead if you want sheets or towels because there’s no one to get them past 6 or so (at least my experience). We had a pull out bed in our room but no extra sheets on them…. So how do you use it? Just sleep on a nasty mattress? We checked all the cabinets/drawers. Nothing. The dryer doesnt dry the clothes after 2 hours, useless. The restaurant on premise was absolutely disgusting. The grill doesnt get Near hot enough to cook the meat in a reasonable amount of time. Definitely not worth the price. Oh, also my app never worked. When I opened it it was just a grey screen. Most people’s app didn’t work that we talked to and helped. I’m also confused how I paid more for a room than someone in my group but I got a worse room, no windows to open, ac barely did anything (I realize that’s not a thing in Norway) but don’t have the option if it doesnt do Anything :). Beware of the rooms that look directly into a hallway lmao! No street view or anything… just a hallway, ours looked at the elevators. The point? I see none. The good: shower pressure, bathroom, kitchen area (minus microwave), refrigerator.
Beautiful view of the mountain from room. Great location, within walking distance to restaurants & other attractions around the city.
Very handy to town
Great location, close to the city centre. Walkable distance to bus stops, taxi ranks, grocery store and shopping centre. Was a bit small for a family of three. As soon as the fold out sofa is set up, there is only a few centimeters of space left between the end of the bed and the shelf below the tv. Very hard to navigate in the night if getting up to use the toilet. Main bedroom needs more lights. Can be a bit dull at night. Overall we were happy with our stay.
Oasis Hot Pot Restaurant messes up entire building
Overall service is good. However, the restaurant on the first floor Oasis Hot Pot makes strong smell in the entire building.
Nearly there
Everything was perfect except missing a proper reception - most people struggled with entry and the key app does not work often. Also restricted access late evenings on weekends and have to use basement to enter - strange else all good and one can stay there as long as they are ready for the above . General quality was top!
Unfinished apartments and construction noise
We stayed at the apartment during the October half-term. The building is pretty new and we'd seen from other reviews that guests who'd stayed had issues with construction work. We therefore got in touch beforehand to ask if work had finished - which we were told it was. Unfortunately, on two nights we were there it sounded like someone was fitting kitchens or new units from 11 pm to 3 am. I can understand the need to allow guests to stay at the apartment whilst some work still goes ahead, although clearly, not enough thought has gone into the best way of doing this. If there are unfinished apartments guests shouldn’t really be staying on the same floor as the work, let alone directly next door. And if there is work going ahead anyway, it absolutely shouldn’t be exclusively done during nighttime hours. Had the booking and administration team been upfront with us when I initially asked about potential construction we most likely wouldn’t have booked the apartment. We feel deceived as a result and it has spoiled the enjoyment of our trip. I have since contacted the apartment but after several emails back and forth with Julie and Jon, they have gone quiet.
Good
Self catering. Warm place to wait and leave luggage while waiting to checkin. Issues using Bluetooth app for key took a bit of getting used to.
Bad check in, some rooms have no windows
The first room we were given had a window that looked into an internal courtyard with a sushi restaurant, where diners can see in. For a country with little winter sunlight this was awful. After complaining about the false advertising, as the listing showed windows, we were moved to a 2nd room with broken lights. Only our 3rd room worked as expected, but this second move move meant repacking and unpacking again. Check in was difficult - the payment website didn't update UI to say payment failed, so we thought we'd paid, but when we turned up and were trying to fix this issue the lack of check in desk made this tricky to sort out, and their website account was useless. Even on payment, the email with check in instructions didn't arrive! There were other couples confused by check in aswell. Honestly, don't bother booking, it's not worth the risk of ending up in a windowless room for days!
The information provided said that you will receive an email 24 hours before check in. The day of my check in, I had not received my email. I had to contact them and they said they would send it. I finally received the email at 2:59pm for a check in of 3pm. As I inspect the room, the bedding did not appear to be that clean as I found hairs on the sheets. Everything else was clean. Almost ran out of shampoo as it wasn’t refilled prior. The location was great. Next to a grocery store, shops and bus stops and within walking distance to the city center. My room faced the interior of the hotel so I had to keep the curtains closed at all times unless I wanted to watch the people across from me. It was surprisingly quiet as well despite having a room directly in front of the elevators. Breakfast was not good, I say not worth it. There is one person handling breakfast who is also responsible for cooking and cleaning. The food was mostly drying in the warmers and there wasn’t much options. Overall good location, even had a gym and laundry room, required reservation as there are only 3 machines.
Great place, some staff training needed.
The place was great. Location was perfect, the room was very comfortable and clean. My only issue was that the staff just barged in our room 1 day before our check out date. My girlfriend was half naked and instead of apologizing for the inconvenience they just said "checkout was at 11 am". After I explained our reservation was until the next day they left. Then the next day, while getting ready to check out early around 9 am (checkout is 11 am), they barged in again. This place is great, but definitely the staff needs some training on respecting guest privacy. Also our TV didn't work and despite sending messages and talking to the person in the front desk, nothing was fixed.
Really good hotel. Really recommend it.
Place was perfect for a family, fully furnished kitchenette was very useful. A few pointers to make the stay better: 1. Consider including a microwave in the unit; 2. Have a firmer sofa bed for better sleep.
The place is clearly run for the convenience of Vander/Bjorvika, and not with the guest in mind. Their limited office hours can cause some real headaches, as they did for me. If you can overlook the numerous shortcomings, those on a budget may enjoy their stay here.
A great stay.
It was a very pleasant stay. One of the better places I've stayed across Norway. I highly recommend it to anyone, especially solo travellers looking for a central Tromso location that is safe and care free. They only trouble I had was picking up my keycard to get in after hours. That was not the place's fault, but rather google maps took me to the far side of the building from the dropbox. I had to circle the block to find it, but it wasn't that bad overall. Just be aware of it.
Super convenient, great views, well-equipped kitchen, kind staff
I am really disappointed because i booked something bigger i contacted them immediately but i was just ignored via expedia and e mail. I want my refund due to price-space differences please
Very Good. 😘
Specially all appliances very convenience, excellent location, very clean
I stayed for eight nights in May/June 2023. The apartment is in a great place, within a five-minute walk of several bus lines and right next to a major supermarket. The ferry terminal and attractions are also close by. Everything is new and very clean; fridge, dishwasher, and stove/oven all worked great. Highly recommend!
Clean, value for money, central location in Tromso
- The sofa bed did not have a good support. It felt as if we were sinking towards each other. - There was very basic human presence at the reception during day hours. I guess it keeps costs down but sometimes you need help from someone who is local outside office hours. - there are no bins for throwing small amounts of recycling anywhere in the building. It was an overkill to put few luggage tags (paper) in one plastic bag for paper recycling and throw it in the main trash area. + great views from 8th floor (provided the weather is good) + newly refurbished / built. Everything is clean, modern, functional and fault free. Bathroom was very good. + location was great. The Coastal voyage port, Polaria and city centre were very close. Polar Museum was a little further away but less than 1k away. * luggage room is available but it is no manned. So it all works on trust and hope. * the kitchen has almost everything but there was no microwave oven
Great in all ways! //Family of four stayed for 3 nights!
A very ew property and at the heart of the city
Loved the amenities in the room. It will be even better once it’s finished being built!

Great location and utilities
