It felt like a home away from home. Brendan made me feel welcome.

Clean, quiet and friendly staff. The place is about 5 minutes drive from Belleayre ski resort.

Overall, it was a fantastic experience and I couldn’t thank Brandon enough for how welcoming and kind he was. I would definitely recommend staying here if you are visiting this area. I will definitely be coming back during my next visit!

Awesome host! Loved our stay it was so cozy!

Had a wonderful stay Fri-Sun in the Emory room. So convenient for ski days out at Belleayre Mountain, private, and comfortable. Shadowcrest had everything we needed and wanted. A beautifully, well preserved space that feels like home, clean bedsheets/bathroom/etc, warm water with great water pressure, chairs/ottomans/luggage rack to keep all our belongings off the floor, electric kettle, microwave, mini fridge, beautifully decorated common spaces to relax, and a dining room where you could grab a bite and cup of coffee for breakfast before an early morning on the slopes. Max and Brendan were so kind and helpful throughout booking, check in, and check out. Couldn't have asked for more and we're looking forward to our next stay!

Absolutely stunning house and as many others have said, Brendan could not be more gracious and responsive. This is my second time staying at Shadowcrest and I plan to return often. Shadowcrest will win your heart!!!

Really enjoyed my stay here at shadowcrest! Brendan was super communicative and responsive which definitely was helpful. The house was very cozy walking in to and so was the room. It was filled with amenities and the dining room and its snacks was definitely a nice perk! Would stay again next time when in the area!!

Great

The house is a very charming and very old Victorian-style house with a turret on top and a matching rounded porch. The proprietor, Brendan, is a very sociable man who, unfortunately, had to be away for a couple of days on family business; he did return the evening before we departed and was apologetic about not being there to greet us.

This lovely Victorian home has been transformed into a comfortable hotel room with everything you could need!

Very peaceful

What a very nice stay I had at Shadowcrest. The proprietor was very welcoming and friendly. My only fault was only having one-night to stay here. Congratulations on running a beautiful establishment. ~ Oscar

This was the coolest hotel I have ever stayed in. And such an incredibly charming owner, Brendan, who made our stay even better. He took care of EVERY detail of this gorgeous place - from a detailed book of everything to do in the area to an incredible bathroom that included a rain shower that I just didn't want to leave in the morning. I can't say enough great things about this hotel! Truly a masterpiece! We can't wait to come back!

A true gem!

One cozy overnight for this couple

Nicely renovated Victorian. Gracious host (Branden). Clean, modern bedroom & comfortable living spaces. Bed very comfortable. Shower with good pressure & temp. Breakfast: K-cups, teas, crossaints, yoghurts ("grab & go"). A pleasant & welcoming one night stay.

Guest house beeeautiful! Room was beautiful and comfy. Brendon went above and beyond to make everything wonderful. The only down side is with a house like this the wood floors and doors are going to be noisy when walking and was awakened a few times from others going up and down stairs and hallway in and out of rooms; but not too late and everyone pretty respectful, thats just to be expected from beautiful old Victorian houses!

The property is unique, victorian stile very well kept. Brendan, the host, is very nice and helpful. The bed was amazing, we had one of the best night sleep of our lives. Just be careful because the closest restaurants can be closed in certain days of the week.

We really enjoyed our stay here, the property is beautiful and well maintained, the owners are so fun and accommodating, Brendan gave us great recommendations in the village. We definitely plan on staying again.

Enjoyed A Lovely Stay

Brendan was a lovely host who was available to answer my questions before my arrival. My room was spacious, light-filled and very comfortable. My favorite spot was the front porch - a perfect spot to read a book on a sunny afternoon.

A beautiful guesthouse with excellent host. The rooms are beautiful and very clean. I highly recommend this place and I will definitely come back.

Hidden Gem in the Catskills

Greeted pleasantly by Brendan, showed us the home and our room. Very comfortable bed and awesome stand up shower with waterfall style overhead shower. Just enough goodies for a quick breakfast. Brendan shared some of the best spots in town for food, groceries, beer, cheese etc . We ended up at The Print House for a drink and then dinner, food and atmosphere was perfect.

Great place to have access to a lot of hiking and exploring options around. Beautiful front porch to hang out on, cute room and updated bathroom. Host was very nice and helpful with good recommendations for dining etc. Easy check in and check out process with a giant free parking lot across the street. Will be coming back :D

Great location and great attention to detail, very comfortable

Brandon, the owner of the bnb, was extremely helpful in giving us a full tour of the historic property. He was very welcoming! Brandon knew the area very well and provided some great tips on where to eat, hikes. The house itself was beautiful and full of charm. There is a lovely porch to have coffee and a light continental breakfast in the morning. The Turquoise Room was comfortable and had a great waterfall shower. We will be back!

Loved driving through the Catskills! We were a little apprehensive on the location of the guesthouse at first but it turned out good!

Very beautiful and the owners were so kind! I wish we had more time, but we were in and out for a wedding and had to leave early for another event. But the room and bathroom were immaculate and the bed was SO comfy. Make sure you park across the street where the cantina is!

This is the pefect place just outside of other bigger towns in the Catskills. So much charm in this bnb from its huge covered front porch to the antique style. Bed was super comfortable and host was very helpful and inviting. Definitely will be back!

Stayed overnight for July 4th weekend. It's a beautiful house, beautifully restored and well maintained. Brendan, the owner, was downright pleasant and very concerned about ensuring everything went perfectly. Nice to have air conditioning during the heat. Convenient parking in the lot across the street.

Very comfortable welcoming BnB

I was a late, almost 10pm check in but was met and warmly welcomed by Brendon (?) at the door. He gave me a brief history of the house and when he purchased / renovated it. He takes a lot of pride in his work as he should because the place is gorgeous, clean, comfortable, and very welcoming. My room was simple, clean, charming, and had a very nice, modern bathroom. My room was cozy and comfortable. The bed in my room has to be the most comfortable in all the Catskills. I look forward to staying here again.

Extremely clean. All brand new modern bathroom. Friendly staff.

For those who enjoy B&Bs, this one has a good start but definitely isn’t there yet. The home was nicely decorated and clean, but bedrooms are a bit small. Bed was comfortable. What’s also missing is a welcoming something-cookies or a glass of wine and a much better breakfast the following morning. There’s an electric kettle in the room, but no coffee or tea provided. One of the hosts is very welcoming; the other not so much. If we were in the area again we might give it another chance. Not much in the town as far as open restaurants (at least off season).

Brenden is phenomenal! He was so sweet and accommodating! I didn’t get to stay in the actual inn so much because I was in town for work but even still he was so communicative and hospitable!

Great experience

Great experience; well-equipped and beautifully decked room. Some of the pieces were so unique and well-chosen. Bathroom was great too. Brandon was nice enough to provide us with suggestions for places to visit nearby. Breakfast options can be expanded but we didn’t mind that. Would definitely recommend.

My partner and I had such a lovely stay at Shadowcrest. Brendan was such a lovely host and was so warm and welcoming. The house is absolutely gorgeous. It was really cool to be in such an old timey victorian house but have a modern bathroom and bedroom- the shower was DIVINE. We loved the mix. We had a great time driving to neighboring towns and going hiking and snow tubing. Definitely will be back again!

Nice for a short stay.

This is a nice inn very close to Belleayre Ski Resort. The room was clean and nicely renovated, and the bed was comfortable. My only complaint was the included "breakfast," which consisted of some granola bars and Entenman's donuts/danish. We were there to ski and like to stay at a place that has breakfast so that we can get out early and go straight to the slopes. I think it is somewhat deceptive advertising to call this a breakfast.

A gem find for this area!

Absolute delight

I couldn't believe how high the reviews were for this place and now I completely understand why! We LOVED staying here. The owner is wonderful and we'll be back for sure!

The property was overall good. Bed was very comfortable and the room was very nice. Bathroom was solid too. Partner an I enjoyed the room very much. What I didn't understand is the breakfast? It said breakfast included. One morning breakfast was a half eaten box of Entenmann's cinnamon rolls and uncooked slow cook oats and a box of cookies clearly from the store next door.. There wasn't anything like fruit or toast etc. No milk or regular or alternative in the mini fridge for coffee. Glass containers on table were empty. No water to boil the oats? Thinking maybe someone forgot to arrange the breakfast and an honest mistake we shrugged it off. Next morning same thing but with another half eaten box of cinnamon rolls stacked on the one from the day before. Kitchen roped off so no way to get milk or water. Mini fridge empty again. If guests are being charged for breakfast then provide breakfast. If they are being charged just for a room and no breakfast then bring the price down. This "breakfast" area seemed like a loop hole to be listed as a Bn'B when it's really just a B. Also, I had to kill 4 fly's in the room in the middle of winter which is concerning...It's upstate and all, but middle of winter was odd.

Great stay. Just one night but we really enjoyed this beautiful place and owners hospitality. Will return for sure. Dorothy and Jerry.

Home away from home

My stay at Shadowcrest was super lovely. I came for the weekend solo to go snowboard at Belleayre. Brandon was super kind and welcoming and gave me a full tour of the place. I was blown away at how this old Victorian home was restored and decorated. They created such a wonderful and cozy space. The bed was comfortable, the showers were very hot and the common area with the fireplace was perfect after a long day on the mountain. There are a few restaurants within walking distance. I highly recommend a stay at the Shadowcrest.

Please has old authentic charm

The host was excellent! The place was spotless! The whole experience was charming! A very nice experience. I fully recommend this property.

Brendan was a fantastic host. He explained the surrounding location and good restaurants to check out and was an honest and super nice guy. 10/10 would recommend, we will be heading back there to star again for sure.

I cannot speak highly enough about our experience at The Shadowcrest Guest House. Everything about the experience was perfect. From the carefully curated decorations in every corner of the house to the recommendations and warm welcome the owners gave us - our stay could not have been better. The Shadowcrest Guest House is a must stay for anyone visiting the Catskills.

Shadowcrest is a beautiful Victorian house with so much charm. The rooms are lovely, each unique, with comfortable beds, and there is great common space, including the huge wraparound porch. Brendan is a wonderful host. I really appreciated his friendliness and helpfulness. I don't know when I'll get back to Fleischmanns, but if I do, I'll certainly go back to Shadowcrest and I've definitely recommended it to anyone I know who may want to visit the Catskills.

Simply Fabulous

Amazing historic home with modern updates.

We had a quick stopover in the Catskill region and needed a place to sleep. Shadowcrest fullfilled our needs and more . Our room was so comfortable, our bathroom brand new and the hosts are so friendly . We walked down the street for a delicious dinner and some drinks and if we weren't so tired could have sat on the beautiful porch watching the moon rise .

Nice place to recharge your batteries

Very cozy place, nice small town to spend a few days to recharge. The room does not have a TV if that’s what you are looking for.

What a gem of a find. Owners make you feel right at home and ensure you are enjoying your stay. Amenities were met to a tee! Upgrades are soo tasteful. Our #1 for future stays!

Nice Gateway

We had a wonderful experience! The place is very clean, with fully renovated bathrooms in every room. There is air conditioner included as well. Owner of the place is extremely nice and friendly. They have greeted us with warm welcoming.

Bed was extremely comfortable! Host was easy going and acommadating. We grilled outside, ate on the porch, used the tv later at night. Bathroom shower isnreally nice. Well priced and would recommend and stay again!

Brendan was incredibly welcoming. Upon our arrival he gave us the layout of the town and provided a book of restaurants and activities to engage in nearby. Everything was clean, neat & the bedrooms & bathrooms were fully remodeled (with great water pressure!). Would highly recommend this venue to all who stay in this area— you won’t be disappointed!!

Absolutely amazing. Our second stay, but not our last. This is a hidden gem for any seasons, Brandon and Max are outstanding hosts, welcoming and knowledgeable about the area. Great hiking, skiing, and restaurants nearby.

Lovely Weekend in Fleischmanns

We had a lovely 2-night stay. The Vly Room was spacious, amenities were great, and the sitting area in the room was wonderful. Brendan was a wonderful host. Highly recommend.

Great time and great owners!

Amazing time! Renovations were well done. Really liked the heated bathroom floors and the huge comfy king size bed. Owners are wonderful and were extremely helpful when I got a flat tire. Would highly recommend staying here if you want to stay in a nice renovated Victorian in a cute quaint town!

We stayed at the property several times across skiing weekends. It’s centrally located in the town and parking is easy. The owners were super friendly and easy to communicate; they also recommended many places to explore in the area. At the time when we stayed, our rooms were already renovated and the property would be going through some further renovations, so looking forward to what it’s becoming. Would recommend and definitely stay again!

I can't say enough about my stay at the Shadowcrest! The inn is beautiful remodeled and inviting. My room was beatifly renovated with an expensive ensuite bathroom with every amenity imaginable, to make my stay most comfortable. Brandon and Max went above and beyond to make my stay a wonderful experience. Can't wait to come up again soon 😊

Beautiful Updated Victorian in the Catskills

My wife and I recently had the pleasure of staying at Shadowcrest. We stayed in the Vly Room. The pictures and description are accurate. It is as cozy and comfortable as it looks and sounds. The owners go out of their way to make you feel at home. I highly recommend spending a few nights here.

Wonderful stay!

Beautiful place to stay!! Got two rooms for our family for a ski trip to Bellearye. Brenden was so warm and responsive to all of our needs. The decor in the rooms far exceeded my expectations! The beds were so comfortable and while freezing outside, we were warm and cozy. The location is perfect. I would return in the warmer weather for hiking. Gorgeous house with the best hosts!

A gem in the town of Fleischmanns!

This is a little gem and I stayed there to be close to Belleayre for skiing. The rooms are extremely well-appointed and Brendon was a very gracious host. It's also an excellent value. No breakfast available, which is not a big deal. However, most of the restaurants open at 8am so would be nice if there were just a simple DIY coffee cart downstairs with drip coffee! (hint hint!). I'm also looking forward to the next stay there with my family.

The owner, Brendan, was very accessible and attentive. The room was very clean and had updated amenities and was very comfortable. It was a very nice B&B.

Our stay at Shadowcrest was nothing short of fantastic. The owner was extremely helpful and personable. Our room was extremely cozy. My wife and I felt comfortable staying there and we look forward to booking again. I highly recommend booking here as I will definitely be booking again. 5 stars across the board!

I spent 4 nights here with my girlfriend and our young doggie. It was the end of the season, so it was frigid outside but awfully cozy in our room as we watched the first snow fall of the year. It was a gorgeous stay and a perfect way to unwind from the chaos of the city. Fleischmanns is a great little town with Greek and Mexican restaurants right outside, with upscale restaurants 20 minutes away. Best of all was our host, Brendan, who was exceptionally kind and accommodating to our needs. He's got great taste in music, and his personal touch extends to every corner of the property. A very charming stay at a great value. Highly recommended!

From the pillows to the porch just outstanding! What a friendly, fabulous host in a historic updated Victorian with the most luxurious baths and bedding to sink into after exploring the rolling Catskills. Dog-friendly - We all just loved it - will be back.

I have stayed here twice now and both times everything was excellent. I love that in the room there is a book that showcases local restaurants and such. It is very helpful when you are visiting a new town. Lovely place, lovely people.

A “WOW” experience in a little town in the Catskills. From the warm welcome from our host, Brendan, to the exquisitely remodeled room, this was one of our best stays on a two week trip through the New England fall colors. As it was our last night on the road, it was a special place to end our trip. Brendan couldn’t have been more helpful or hospitable from lugging our bags to providing suggestions for dining or about the area. We loved his plans to remodel more rooms for more guests to share this special place. Mountain rainstorm not withstanding (2” in 24 hrs) we had a great time.

We loved our stay! Highly recommend!

Interesting building with an odd smell. Friendly staff but difficult to get ahold of outside of check-in. Very comfortable beds. Only 1 small trashcan in the bathroom, so you either need to compact your waste or bring it down to the kitchen before 11AM. Not much to do in the immediate area unless you enjoy skiing. But it’s less than an hour’s drive to get to Kaaterskill.

Our night's stay at Shadowcrest was wonderful. Brendan was such a welcoming host. He shared some of the home's history while pointing out its features and some upgrades. Our room in the turret was pretty, spacious, and comfortable. Our relaxing evening on the lovely porch was a respite in our travels. We loved the uniqueness of Shadowcrest. Get lots of oohs & aahs from friends when they see our photos.

The staff, property & ambiance was wonderful; our only wish was to visit later in the week or weekend to experience the total flavor of the area (mid-week most establishments were closed).

Gem in a small town

Beautiful stay in a meticulously renovated 1800s style home in the little town of Flieschmanns. Had a wonderful anniversary there. Went out to dinner and the owner of Shadowcrest called ahead to let the restaurant know to make the evening special for us. Came back after dinner and enjoyed drinks and conversation with Brendan and another guest. The room was spacious, the bed comfortable, and the bathroom was really nicely remodeled. Stores and restaurants are in walking distance. Would definitely stay again next time we're coming through!
