Very good
Our room could not have been better. It exceeded my expectation. The restaurant was a disappointment. I'm an early riser and waiting until 8:00am for coffee was inconvenient. Also the breakfast menu was limited and not great.
Awesome beach super close and walking distance to Cenote Minotaur
Much nicer than expected!
So much nicer than expected! Grounds are gorgeous and lots of very thoughtful details through the walkways to the “rooms” we really enjoyed and would come back for sure.
Love this place. Will come back
Had a great time
Do not stay here
My advice to potential customers - DO NOT STAY HERE. This is by far the worst place we stayed during our time in Mexico. The staff, with exception of the individual serving breakfast, are incompetent fools. The ambience, well if you enjoy the constant sound of high speed lorries hurtling down the dual carriageway 24 hours a day, you may enjoy. We did not. It should also be noted that from 6pm you have no access to food, restaurants, drinks, bars, nothing. You may as well be stranded at sea. For our stay, we were treated to noisy neighbours in adjacent tents. Then, for over 24 hours there was zero electricity or running water. We couldn’t shower. We couldn’t brush our teeth. We couldn’t even see 10cm in front of us after sunset. They did nothing to mitigate this for the guests. Their incompetence shining through yet again. Our stay became untenable, who can put up with this for the amount they charge per night, we decided to leave a day early and it was agreed that if we contacted hotels.com we would be able to receive a refund for the final night of our stay. Hotels.com then tried to contact Serenity to confirm but Serenity refused to respond. We’ve messaged Serenity, they’ve refused to respond to us also. These people are untrustworthy, dishonest, and dishonourable. They displayed a complete lack of customer service when it most needed. The meaning of ‘Serenity’ is the state of being calm, peaceful, and untroubled. They should probably change their name.
Very nice experience for Glamping.
Great getaway to slow down and get in nature. Loved the tents, beach and experience. Unfortunately restaurant is painfully slow, with poor service over priced. Other than that, it’s a quaint little getaway!
I booked a room for 4 people and found out about extra charges when I arrived. The price on expedia is different than the property. I was disappointed when I could not change my expedia reservation to get a discounted rate for additional people.
Such a gem of a place! Tents, setting and beach all amazing! Hugo on the beach was the best waiter! The only downfall was the food in the restaurant at the hotel (beach was great). Poor food quality, over-priced and wait time over 60 minutes for dinner. Try that with kids - you want to stab your eye out with a fork. You don’t have many options down there for food as you’re isolated. If we did it again we would pack some fridge-friendly meals and avoid the restaurant all together. If they improved this aspect of the hotel it would be a 5 star Glamping experience!
Great experience to feel free, close to the beach whici is ideal for the kids
We loved it! Very quiet you have your privacy easy acess to beach! Beach was beautiful, Food was delicious! Defenetly will be back with our kids!
They weren’t upfront about their cancellation policies. My unit had a dirty bathroom & the shower drain didn’t drain properly & smelled.
Nice tropical space. Will be better when all the area construction is finished.
Great service. Staff amazing, helpful
I was only able to stay for one night, but I wish I could have stayed longer! The tent and grounds were GORGEOUS!! It was exactly what I needed for a quiet, relaxing stay. I could have laid in that hammock all day <3 I'll be back for sure!
Beautiful property for a no-frills kinda stay in nature. Camping without the bugs & fan! A/C works well and rooms are clean and very comfortable. Staff super friendly and accommodating. Two areas for improvement: Food could be better - mostly fried and unhealthy. Times are limited. I advise against the spa as the massage was poor quality. Save yourself some $ and get one on the beach! We would stay again!
There were at least 10 kids runnning around it was too noisy. Its suppsed to be a relaxing property. It wss not The hotel was full you could see the staff was overwhelmed at dinner time. The food is very boring
Food was terrible if you combined the breakfast lunch and dinner menu there’s maybe 15 items the pool was filled with kids who I’m sure where not stayin at the property the drinks at this place were horrible not one good bar tender the beach club is filled with locals
Glamping camping
The concept is great but the tents proved to be noisy and lacking privacy. The beach club closed early meaning sunset drinks were not an option. Food was awful and vastly overpriced but there are plenty of better options nearby. People were lovely and service was fine but in poor weather or if you don’t have a rental car to offer independence it would not have been a wise choice for us.
.
We loved the quaintness!
We loved the relaxed atmosphere of staying at this property. The staff was so helpful and friendly with giving recommendations and solving any issues. Great ammenities and very laid-back atmosphere. I would highly recommend!
I loved my stay here - it was so peaceful. The staff are lovely and the food was decent! You're so close to the beach which is glorious and, I was told by multiple travellers, much nicer than Tulum and Cancun. I had the best time, thanks to the Serenity staff for looking after me so well :)
I LOVED IT !!! :) I still did not get a refund for my car rental though .
They close the doors early and don’t have staff to open the gates
Beatifull
I liked property
Staff excellent, price not really expensive , accessible to beach , you can also use public transport if you want to go to playa de Carmen where you can go to Cozumel and swimming pool very good
Peaceful location
It was a very nice place, had a excellent experience will return soon. Alex from reception is a very good employee. Pedro was a very good waiter, Abrao was a very good bartender as well.
Beautiful getaway
Such a beautiful experience. Sure it was a tent but with running water and an Air conditioner. Couldn’t beat it. Little walk to the beach, but so gorgeous. Very safe and secure too
The property is made with camping fabric! Yes you heard it right! And when you don’t feel safe to stay there after the first night even when Expedia accepts to refund your money, the management office won’t! It’s understandable considering it’s hard for them to find customers for them with that condition!!!
Very comfortable, a nice beach at walking distance and the food is tasty
We had a wonderful stay and hoping to come back soon
Interesting place. We stayed for one night to enjoy a different experience in the tent. Friendly staff, cute place, but it’s not in the beach. You’d need to take a walk to get to the beach. You can still hear the hwy at night since but they provide earplugs in case you have a problem sleeping
Nicer than a Hotel
Awesome! Best Glamping Ever. Tents are nicer than most hotels. Go there and see for yourself, It made me want to build one of these myself
Loved it
We will come back. Everyone was so kind, food was great, the place was so relaxing. It was paradise
Perfect getaway! Food, staff, accommodations! Everything was just perfect! Great beach club and lots of fun!!
Glamping Experience
Staff was fantastic. So helpful and accommodating! We loved the glamping experience and distance from the beach.
The beach club was a handy addition. I wish more staff was bilingual.
We (2 girlfriends and me) had an amazing stay here at Serenity!!!! Staff were soo friendly and engaging and helpful and sweet. Beach club surpassed all the adjacent beach lounges. Felt cared for, safe and so comfortable. Our second hotel also fell through and we just returned to Serenity because we felt so good there. Tent accommodations were beautiful, luxurious feeling and really well cleaned. We had massive beds, a/c, pool and spa right nearby. My only criticisms were that the Serenity dinner menu was limited and Americanized and did not change. So, since we were 20-30 minutes taxi drive from Playa del Carmen we didn’t eat as much ‘local’ cuisine as we would have liked. Next time, would plan more ‘in town’ dinners, but the beach club always delivered drinks, guac and ceviche that won me over.
Horrid! Basically, slept in a tent in the humid jungle. Lighting is poor. Tents are very close: we heard our neighbours, who partied late. Still have welts from insect bites. Food is poor quality. LOUD techno music blaring on their speakers at the beach. Management is smug. STAY AWAY.
Beautiful place. A bit close to the road so you could hear the construction work at night.
We booked one night to experience “glamping”. The tent was beautiful, ac worked great and the romantic atmosphere was delightful. Staff was friendly and very helpful.
Unique experience
This place is very unique and makes you feel so peaceful it’s almost a little scary at first (esp if it’s your first time in mexico) it’s basically mid jungle with hardly anything around but the scenery is gorgeous and it’s so relaxing. The tents are very spacious and comfortable and separated from each other so well you cannot hear noise from neighbors. The beach is amazing of course but the food they serve is just ok, especially the free “breakfast” it’s simply a tiny hard croissant and some fruit with no flavor... but regardless it’s free and there’s options some miles away (5-10). there’s not much to do here but relax and enjoy the beach which is nice if that’s your purpose. I would come back again when their beach clubs are open but i do recommend!
Glamping
It was a great experience and seemed like a cool place. Great locations just a 5 min. walk to a beautiful beach. Nice beach club but due to COVID many things at the hotel seems unavailable or closed. The beach club closed at 5 or 6pm. Not so easy to find, especially since a lot of construction on the main highway. Overall a place I’d stay again.
Jan 2021
Excellent stay. Second time. Only blip was no hot water on our last day. All good. Loved having breakfast on the beach option this time.
A very nice experience.
We had a very nice day at the serenity clamping tent community. Due to Covid they were at very low capacity and some of the offerings were not available. The tents were very clean and the property was very calm and inviting. The walk to the beach was about five minutes away. The restaurant at the quiet beach was very adequate. We would definitely recommend this place and would come back again. The staff was very helpful as well. I would recommend going to the website to learn more about the status of the property. It was great and we would go again for sure.
Great hotel that could be perfect with some tweaks
The hotel and experience are very unique. It is a very cool concept, and the pictures are accurate. It really has a Tulum type feel and the property is very relaxing and feels like you’re in a jungle. The tents are a good size, clean and comfortable, with a big comfortable bed. With a few small changes this hotel could really be a special place. I have really only one issue about the property itself, and then some complaints about the beach club which is technically separate, but really an extension of the property: Me and another couple got placed in two tents on the edge of the property against the metal fence. I am not sure if we just got very unlucky due to a few windy days and two particularly bad tents, but our tents were UNBEARABLY loud from the tent canvas slapping around the frame. All 4 of us could not sleep at all, and the other couple ended up moving tents. They moved to one of the interior tents, and they told me it was a significant improvement. Unless this is fixed, I would highly reccomend staying away from the tents along the metal fence. With respect to the beach club - It is a bit crowded with the beds and tables, and is not that much space. The food was actually surprisingly good, maybe the best meal we had in over 7 days, but the service was terrible. Generally the service is slow in Mexico, but here it was particularly bad, and they would just not come by to take our order, and then once you ordered the food would take forever.
I loved the theme of camp the sound of nature the beds on the beach with good service
Glamping at it's finest
Stunning site with impeccably clean facilities, especially considering this is glamping. Would definitely stay again. It is a 1 hour drive from Tulum so don't expect any convenience as far as location is concerned. I will also say that the service down at the beach club was a bit of a mess, 20 minute wait just to get a beer. But that was something that was congruent across everywhere in Tulum. Everyone is running around as if there are super busy with 100 customers when there are only 5... Maybe the city grew faster than the service was ready for.
Very much enjoyed our stay
We stayed here for 2 nights! Amazing tenta and camping area and the beach is fantastic. Food/breakfast at the beach club was really good. We also used the jacuzzi outside the tent which was great but the water did unfortunately not get as warm as you may want. But still pleasurable.
It’s very nice glamping comfortable great breakfast area by the beach. Make sure to take repellent mosquitoes and keep you mosquito door closed and you be fine👍
This property is very beautiful and peaceful, beds are comfortable. Breakfast service is very good, Isamar is so sweet. Food is just okay. My biggest disappointment was the beach club, it took them some days until 11 in the morning to set up and they paid more attention to serving the non guest who rented the chairs.
There was no hot water for the tubs. That was the only disappointing part of our stay. Great romantic getaway!
Amazing experience!!
Or stay here was spectacular! My boyfriend and I were celebrating his birthday and Julio at the front desk went above and beyond to make it the most memorable experience for us! The only negative things about the experience was that it was cold out and there was no heat so the nights were really cold. Also the fire pits in the common courtyard were not working which was a little disappointing since it was cold. The sheets didn't smell clean but this could be due to the organic products the the resort uses. I would most certainly stay here again in warmer season. We had an amazing experience with the service we received as well as the unique nature of the resort.
Nice room, skip the F&B
The tented rooms are great - well designed, spacious, clean and well air conditioned. It is fairly loud but people are quite respectful with a noise ban after 9pm (remember - you’re on a tent so there’s really no sound proofing). Great for spotting iguanas in the morning! The service however at the restaurant and the beach was extremely slow - they forgot drinks on more than one occasion and the food was mediocre at best with a very minimal (albeit complimentary) breakfast. Come for the nice room, great deal on beach access but skip the onsite food and drinks.
Loved our stay here. All the staff were fantastic in the reception, restaurant & beach club. The resort is very nicely set out, would recommend.
The Serenity tent camp was a wonderful and unique experience. Basically a nice comfortable hotel room in a tent. The attention to detail was excellent from the hostesses to the maids, everyone provided the kind of service you would expect from a high end hotel.
This property was exactly as described and more! I had never been GLAMPING before and was sceptical to leave my resort to venture over for a night, but i am entirely glad i listened to my boyfriend. The grounds and tent were immaculate. The tranquility and serenity along with the service and quality of food makes this hidden gem a must stay for anyone looking for that zen out of the box mexico travel destination. Xpuha beach is the most picturesque beach and is my second time returningi almost dont want to blog about it, but it is also a must experience! Miltons service is so wonderful along with every single staff member gave exceptional service! We Will return!!! Jade L
Highest Recommendation.
I fell is love with Serenity - everyone that works there were amazing. Some of the best customer service I have seen. I plan on returning and have recommended it to everyone I know. I want to thank all that work there for an amazing week of relaxation.
Comfort in natural surroundings. Everything is so calm and relaxed, disturbed only by the birds and their sounds. All of the stuff were ready to help, Astrid and Dennys on reception, Montse and Ivan also. Just perfect
Serenity Camp is one of the most lovely locations on the Maya Riviera if you are looking for a hotel that is not typical. It is calm, relaxing, in a beautiful wooded setting with a five minute walk to a private part of the beach at Xpu-Ha. We stayed in the Harmony Triple the first three nights and then needed to move to the Harmony Double. Both of these tents have gorgeous beds, natural bath products, excellent room care and ample towels.....and A/C, if needed. The pool was a perfect way to end the day at the beach. I suggest that you book your room with breakfast included because it is wonderful!...a full buffet AND eggs or pancakes from the kitchen. I also suggest you try to have your lunch at the hotel restaurant on the beach where the choices are more varied. Dinner has an Asian flare. The food is good, but there is no Mayan cuisine offered. We had numerous dinners at Serenity and enjoyed them. The service is also exceptional. All of the staff members were delightful, especially the hotel manager and food service staff. I plan to return to Serenity next year!
Nice
Nice place to stay in a generally lush setting near the beach. Comfortable rooms, good bed, aircon (in a tent). Looked a bit like they were still landscaping the surroundings to our room, we saw better ones. Staff were generally good. Restaurant ok but food nothing special. Beach club was quite good, beers for 35 pesos, pretty reasonable for that sort of environment. All in all a decent stay. Not cheap but that whole area isn’t anymore.
This was the perfect place to spend an evening before we moved onto the the town on our itinerary. The accommodations were lovely, the grounds beautiful, the food was fantastic, and the staff was friendly. We weren't there long enough to enjoy the beach club, but I did take quick walk down to the water in the morning and it looked great. We will definitely be back!
We booked a room with two beds and when we arrived we were given a room with only one bed. The staff said they had no other rooms available. After a night it was clear there were quite a few empty cabins
Very nice property and staff were friendly and helpful! I would stay here again
Our room was beautiful. We were amazed at the cozy beds and hammock in the front. There were parrots in the tree next door. The beach was beautiful. A few things that were strange. We were given 2 cheap plastic hotel cards to trade in for beach towels. We were told they were $20 each if they were lost. That seemed really excessive for two cheap plastic cards. Then the beach staff lost the cards, and we were told that the waiter would have to pay $40 of his own money for losing the cards. I wasn't ok with that. Thank god that the cards were located, and the front desk staff was really nice about it. I'm still not ok with treating workers like that. $40 USD is a lot of money for a Mexican waiter. Overall, it was a beautiful property and great stay.
Luxury is the word for these Eco-Tents!
Great service from all staff! Lovely and tranquil Eastern Zen vibe. Luxury is the word if you see “tent” think large spacious beautiful room, lovely bath, air conditioned, and lovely decor. Area has turtle rescue project. Be sure to go out with them. This general area in Riviera Maya has much to see, do, and explore. We went in July....beware it is hot, humid, and buggy. The yoga room is musty, flooring not great. They could use a second fan in the other side of the open air restaurant. Love the iguanas that visit you at the tables! Beautiful pool though we didn’t use it, lovely and peaceful, Overall great stay. Again staff is excellent!
Great beach, pool and cocktails
We had a fantastic experience enjoying the beach, pool, comfortable room and well priced beer and cocktails (roughly 50/120 pesos). The buffet breakfast for 200 pesos was a bit uninspired but decent. The dinner menu isn’t quite Mexican but not as bad as previous reviews suggest. We did have a lovely time and the guacamole and cerviche were delicious. There are dinner options on the beach but it did mean eating at 6pm. We paid 80 pesos each on the collectivo back to Cancun through Carmen (40/40) from the main road about 5 mins from reception which was easiest. A private taxi to Cancun was gonna be 1700 pesos. Wifi throughout the camp area and beach club.
Our stay was very enjoyable. The location is a bit away from restaurants or local activities by foot and the beach area could have been kept a little better and had food options. The room and grounds were very beautiful and done well. We really enjoyed the stay overall.
Great place to relax
The tents was awesome and this place is great to relax. Staff service was fantastic. However, only good food at this place was the ceviche. I recommend going to Puerto Aventura for food or trying the restaurant in the beach.
Glamping in Mexico
After a few visits to all inclusive resorts I chose Serenity to have a unique experience. We got a breakfast at the resort every morning. Eggs, toast, fruit. Minimal but sufficient. Lunch and dinner we did here on site and at the Playa beach club right here. They were good but a bit pricey by Mexico standards. That comes with being on any beach I guess. The towns of Puerto Aventuras , Tulum, and Playa Del Carmen are filled with dining options and a taxi or collectivo ride away. Now to lodging. The tents were truly luxury glamping. They have electricity, outlets for charging etc, nice bathrooms with hot sun shower( the best shower), air conditioner, faux wood floors, windows that unzip, a huge front glass and screen door and a great deck to sit with hammock. There’s a safe and fridge. The bed was so comfortable with the high end bedding of a luxury resort. Pedro was the highlight of our trip. Ready with a smile, towels, and drinks all day, every day. Although entire staff was amazing( Dany, Bridgette, Tonio) Pedro made us feel so welcome and took care of our every need with a smile. He is an asset to any business and made our trip extra special. My biggest concerns pretrip were there not being an ATM on site and food. ATM was no issue. Right across the road a hop skip and jump away was a gas station with ATM.
The perfect oasis away from the noise
We LOVED it here. We only had the luxury of one night's stay because of our work schedules. But we wanted more! From the moment we walked in we were warmly welcomed and attended to. We got a personal tour of the camp so we knew what was available to us. They threw in a couple little surprises because we booked the "Bliss" suite. The pool is gorgeous. Certain cabins include free breakfast. There's a yoga studio for private classes or you can use it to practice on your own time. The cabins are surprisingly spacious and the beds are fantastic. We had a jacuzzi on our terrace where we enjoyed drinks under the stars in perfect quiet peace....true bliss. All in all we were excited to try something different and were not disappointed. It's a low-key place so you feel like you're hanging out in someone's very beautiful backyard. Yet we still felt like royalty at the same time. The staff work very hard and it makes you want to slow down and not rush a single thing. This is not your typical 5-Star Butler Service, but that's the best thing about it. We posted a video review on youtube, we loved it so much!
Beautiful retreat near beach
Great stay at Serenity. Wonderful staff. Clean spacious tents with all amenities. Would recommend supplying more than one complimentary bottle of water. Car rental is also recommended to explore the surrounding area.
Great Place/Atrocious Wifi
Great place but wifi is god awful. If you need to get any work done while you are on your stay this is not where you want to be.
Very cool tent camp, and close walk to a nice beac
Very peaceful place to stay (although you could hear highway traffic at night, it didn't bother us) and loved the tent cabins which couldn't be nicer, and the grounds
Serenity Eco Luxury Tented Camp
Excellent Staff in Resort and Beach Club Nice Full Daily breakfast, fruit, bread, eggs, juice, coffee Very Clean Resort, Really Nice Ambiance It REALLY was a Luxury Tent Experience!!!! AWESOME!!!!
Nice relaxing place!!
Friendly people, best place to relax, Great breakfast!
Relaxing beautiful escape
This hotel just opened the grounds impressed me as well as the helpful happy hard working staff! Enjoyed the food especially the chicken tacos and fish.Breakfast was delicious except we found the coffee needs to be improved and if to many guest arrived at they were under staffed.Tents were clean and beautiful. We were moved at one point to another tent do to a large party moved into the one large tent on the resort.Personally I believe the larger tent should be a place for a lavish tent for couples.Do to the fact when large groups stay in them it becomes noisy and tents have no sound barriers .Also guest that do stay need to appreciate and respect their neighbours this is a tranquil resort..I would love to see hammocks on the decks and once the landscape matures this will help with privacy between tents. This resort is amazing and recommend it to anyone looking for a zen experience again my husband and I would happily return and recommend this to anyone looking to escape the everyday rush. Also the beach club was a great place to chill and sip on cool drink.Thank you for the unforgettable retreat beautiful people and grounds stunning!
We really liked the atmosphere, and the place was so authentic. Unfortunately there is a lot of noise from the traffic on the highway close by. We could hear it all night, and when you sleep in tents it is very annoying. If the glamping had been closer to the beach it would have been perfect, and the noise would not have been a problem. Breakfast was good, and the tents were very charming, good beds and nice shower, loved it
Lugar muy lindo y tranquilo
Hermoso!
Experiencia diferente

Lovely feel, grounds and staff plus a pretty stretch of beach. Earplugs are provided for road noise which seemed minor except aroun 5am.
