A very enjoyable friendly clean and fun stay had
The property was overall well maintained, quite, and safe. The staff was friendly. Check in was easy and the room was comfortable. There was free laundry but only 2 washers and dryers for the whole complex, so be prepared for people to be impatient if your clothes don't dry on their time. The one bad thing was ants. We had ants around our room from the time we checked in. We reported it and nothing happened. We reported it again. Nothing happened. We bought our own ant spray and sprayed outside. We then found ants inside which got into my computer and I was bit several times. I asked for the manager who simply said sorry and that we should have known about the bug spray that was already in the room. Shouldn't the 1st two people we reported the ants to, have told us...... The manager offered nothing but a sorry that she would discuss it with house keeping.
Food was just “OK”. Main reason for poor review was: first there were ants in our bed. Next morning we asked and they promptly moved us to a new room where there were, wait for it, also ants in the bed and a spider on the wall. I know it’s the desert but seriously invest in some frequent pest control services! Customer facing staff was nice. Not their fault. Area is worth seeing but no more than 2 nights recommended.
Excellent stay!
Hallways around rooms tired
This was a beautiful place to stay. We enjoyed the location, the air con, the clean rooms and comfortable beds, the tours, the courtesy bus that was provided around the place and the short walking distance towards the town centre. The lunch we had was also very nice and the pool was clean and nice and cold.
It is what it is - a comfortable place to stay at an amazing place on earth. Great, friendly hard working staff that all do a fantastic job
What an experience staying in Ayers Rock Resort at Sails in the Desert. Comfortable large room. A/C much needed and worked very well. Loved the non slip tiles in the modern bathroom. Dining options, especially breakfast, a little overpriced but lots of other restaurants, takeouts and supermarket to choose from. We bought some wine at the airport before we flew as the resort is dry so you can only buy in the restaurants or at the bottle shop. We visited The Field of Light, Uluru at sunset and sunrise with a trip to Kata Tjuta and Walpa Gorge. Amazing!! Shout out to Glen our tour guide with AAT Kings on the sunrise tour. What a passionate and happy guide he is!!
Great location. Friendly staff!
Best resort in the area. A haven from the intense elements around.
Great location closed to Uluru
Uluru
Trip to see Uluru
Charge was more expensive when we booked early
Beautiful resort. Tthe shower had low water pressure.
It was a great place to stay except that we had no offer of help to move all our bags even though we saw others given help, were only given two hand towels and l found some rubbish under one of the chairs in the room! When leaving the staff were quite rude and dismissive! The staff that cleaned the rooms were really lovely and quickly sorted us all out.
Great location for Uluru…. Hop on/off bus service made travel very easy and was free….. Room was good, although not fully equipped when we arrived….very quickly resolved. No pool towels due to laundry delays….not the end of the world but just a bit frustrating. All in all a good hotel in a fabulous location!
You are in a national park so you don’t expect too much. I found that they did the minimum in servicing the rooms. Food was fair. They are ver organized and the timing of everything is good. It’s comfortable and that’s what you can expect
We loved our 6 day stay at Sails in the desert. Staff were excellent and the resort was very clean and friendly. Loved the Segway Uluru evening experience and the Field of lights. We also did the morning sunrise tour to Kata Tjuta. We enjoyed an evening at the restaurant at the Desert Sands resort. Tha pool at Sails was beautiful and clean. Room facilities were very good, comfortable King bed, average shower and good air-conditioning. Would definately recommend to tick of on bucket list. 👍😎
Food is grossly over priced and under optioned even by hotel standards. Even with a $49 Australian charge for the breakfast buffet, they charged $6 for a latte. Dinner was $99 each. There were no alternatives to the buffets. The rooms were very good and one needed piece of maintenance was done immediately.
Thank you team @Sales in the Desert for making our wedding anniversary celebration stay a very special one.
What a wonderful place to stay in such a unique part of Australia. Plan to return to Yulara one day and the Sails is where we’ll be staying again
Nice hotel with comfortable, spacious rooms. The staff is friendly and accommodating, and the hotel offers everything you need for a pleasant stay. There is even free laundry service, which adds great convenience for longer stays.
Stay was excellent, rooms large and clean. Bed mattresses were too soft though. But other than that it was a fantastic stay.
Small nice resort near Ayer’s Rock.
Beautiful hotel and quality staff
Wonderful stay! Great service
We had a really enjoyable stay. When we spoke to the hotel stay they were friendly and very responsive to our requests. Kelsey the assistant manager was exceptional. Thanks to her and the whole crew for a wonderful stay.
Clean and safe.
Great location which all the tour buses leave from. Lovely lovely staff. Decent menu. The room was very very expensive, but I appreciate that’s about scarcity and remoteness. I hope a big chunk of the funds go to staff and local community.
Nice resort
Loved the spacious room. Pool was freezing cold - maybe use the solar to heat it? Checking in/out very slow as arrivals and departures being dealt with at same time. Maybe look at plane arrivals and adjust check out times to avoid a clash.
Well worth a visit.
From the minute we were picked up at the airport to the time we left, the service was very good. The staff were friendly and professional. Food was good with generous portions. Facilities were good, there were never queues or waits. The room had everything we needed and more. We are seasoned travellers and this is one of the better hotels we have been to.
Love everything, thank you very much
Great news
We loved our stay at Sails in the Desert! With the exception of a few rain clouds, all was fabulous! Until next time!!
It is aln average hotel I have problem with tv, showers and they give me a smoking room The room are ugly The food is no good
Really nice experience, especially appreciated soaking in the pool after a hot day of hiking. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast buffet had a large selections of food. Only down side was that we weren’t able to get a late check out. The porter watched our bags while we finished shopping so no problem.
Visiting the area is amazing as are all activities related to the surrounds. The rooms at the hotel are large clean and beds comfy. There is a fridge and a kettle in the rooms which is very handy. However, the staff, especially at the front desk , are poorly trained making the check in and check out difficult and unpleasant. Check your bill when you leave as we were charged for a whole lot of stuff we didn’t have and it made the check out unpleasant and nearly made us late for the flight . The pool was broken for half of our visit and while we could use a small pool at a neighboring hotel it was not convenient and if we wanted to stay at the cheaper hotel and swim in that pool then e would have. Were promised twice a complimentary breakfast but this was not communicated properly to tye other staff especially at check out and it made it unpleasant. Also no concierge and so information at the front desk is limited and depends who is there. No tea or shower soap in the room and despite several requests it wasn’t replenished. A few annoyances esp when looking forward yo a special and relaxing trip and paying top dollar. Despite these issues , the area is amazing and spectacular , very pleased we visited
Perfect after a busy day sight-seeing
Such a great place to come back to after sightseeing at Uluru. Very quiet and restful place with a good breakfast buffet. Pickup from the airport was easy. Lovely staff.
Excellent facility. Modern, elegant, culturally considerate and in harmony with the environment.
Property was nice. Disappointed in beds. I expected better from a hotel rate 5 stars.
Loved this hotel, which was super convenient to Uluru National Park. It's a short walk to the Ayer's Rock Resort town center which has much more affordable food options.
Viewing Uluru at sunset and joining the indigenous park ranger for an in depth tour around the sacred grounds, were two of our highlights
Has had recent upgrade. Rooms and bathrooms are modern and comfortable. Restaurants are very good with excellent service . Overall pleasant surprise
Pretty and clean, just way overpriced for food and excursions. Ayres Rock/Uluru was beautiful, and Im glad to have seen it but won’t come back because of the extra expenses.
Really enjoyed the generous buffet breakfasts and dinners. A little pricey, but not unexpected for such a high quality offering in the middle of the desert!
Great hotel, service, restaurants and people.
Swimming pool way too cold.
5 star. Exceptional customer service. Great restaurants (incredible food & customer service). Beautiful grounds and room.
Friendly staff, good dining options, comfortable bed and nice shower. Also a really nice pool which was welcome during the heat of the day.

The stay was ok, the restaurant was very expensive and the quality wasn’t great.
