The bathroom had no heat had to leave the door open so that it wouldn’t be so cold The TV didn’t work great but they did come and work on it Over all it was ok !!!

No Frills?

We read that this was a "no-frills" motel. The only things we saw as "no-frills" were that it was older and not cookie-cutter, but refurbished; and that the room did not have a blow dryer...two things we could live without! As a family-owned motel, the staff was the very personable family. It was minutes to the train, restaurants, storytelling, hiking, and Bryson City downtown; but better yet it has the river for a backyard! Maybe the "No-Frills" is the reasonable price.

The room and bathroom were small and we found a worm crawling on the wall. We came back to room after going to dinner and there had been nothing done to the room. Bed was unmade and no clean wash cloths or towels.

The rooms has a fresh makeover -tidy, clean, everything you needed for an overnight stay. Enjoyed sitting outside and watching the river.

Cute small family owned motel right on the river. Each room has a small outdoor area with a charcoal grill. Rooms are clean and have a small fridge and micro. Would stay again.

Hidden Gem

Definitely a hidden little gem. I typically stay in larger, name brand hotels, but decided to focus on location for this trip. Being able to see other people’s reviews has given me confidence to choose hotels that I would normally pass right by. I’m so glad we did for this one. The hotel is tiny, maybe 10 rooms. Most of them right along the river. The rooms themselves are actually quite large. In addition to the 2 double beds, we had room for a double air mattress so that my kids could each have their own bed. The river is right behind the hotel. They have small tables and chairs setup on the river with small grills available. The owners were there and helped answer a question. This hotel might not impress your friends on social media like the Ritz Carlton, but a great little place to stay.

Very clean room. View was wonderful! Owner on site was kind and accommodating as well as hard working to maintain the rooms and grounds. We were very pleased with our stay!

Riverbend is no frills lodging right on the bank of the Tuckaseegee River and that makes it about perfect. The room is comfortable and has everything you need. Sit out on the riverside and enjoy.

The property is located on the bank of the river with nice views of the water, wildlife & sunsets from the rooms & decks. There are chairs, tables, grills for using during your stay. The owner also makes beautiful jewelry that is displayed & sold in the office.

The property was exactly as per the web site. Clean, comfortable and very nice beside the river. Staff were very pleasant. I would stay again.

Very quaint place. Our room was on the River. Beautiful view with seating and a grill there as well. Staff was friendly and helpful. Rooms were recently redone. Very comfortable and quiet. Parking lot was gravel which didn’t bother us but some might not like. We enjoyed our stay! I would give an overall A .

Little Quaint Johnny

This is a small quaint motel located on the Tuckaseegee river. At first we didn’t know if we had a bad move or a good one. But this place has been well taken care of and it was very clean. We were very happy with our stay there. Beds weren’t that great but they weren’t on the other end of the spectrum either. I would absolutely stay there again.

Mountain motel

This is a very small mountain motel. It's not fancy, but it's very right for its setting. You have a nice place to sit and watch the lazy river roll by, they allow grilling. It's clean and the rooms are nice. The downside is the rooms are a bit small and the walls are thin. But given the price, I was more than happy with my stay!

Perfect Low-key Accommodation

No frills here but I didn't expect, nor particularly want any. The price and location were my priorities. The room was quite large and plenty comfortable enough. The Tuckasegee was steps away from the door. This was perhaps the cleanest room I've ever encountered and I've stayed in a lot of exclusive hotel properties. Owner was friendly and helpful. I'll definitely stay here again!

Great Mom & Pop lodging

Had a great stay. If we had known it would be this cozy we would have driven from Franklin Friday evening instead of staying there. Large deck out back where we could sit and watch the river, complete with a charcoal grill! Friendly, personal service. We will definitely stay here again should our travels put us in Bryson City again.

Location was great. Peaceful and quiet. Will go back again.

Didn't like no coffee in am And refrig did not seem to work.

Internet was poor. Other than that was a nice place to stay.

Quaint old style travel motel facing a small river in the North Carolina Mountains. Owners were very friendly and accommodating.

Liked being next to the river. Dangerous trying to get out of the parking lot. Uphill and out into traffic. Walls to thin could hear the neighbors when they came home at night. Not enough hot water. The water stopper on the tub spout would not shut off completely so water pressure from shower head was not very good. Parking on gravel and hard to maneuver my Toyota around while backing.

Old and dated property that smelled of mildew. No exhaust fan in the rest room, causing the room to be very humid all night.

A Good Place to Stay If You Don't Mind Some Noise

There was a fair amount of traffic and guest noise, but overall it was a good stay. The road is noisy and it's a little tricky to pull out into traffic from the motel.

Delightful hotel. Beautiful view of the river and the accommodations were fine. Would happily stay again.

On river with seating behind room.Good beds.A/c was not working right.It was either too cold/Hot.No tissues in room. Overall it was good and all we needed.

Absolutely beautiful location along the river. Staff was incredibly helpful. We were running late and they called to make arrangements and make sure that we were still able to check in and access our room.

Good Stay

The location is superb, by the side of the river. Looking at the photograph, I thought there was an exit at the back of the cottage to access the river. But in reality there was a 2ft x 2ft window to the back. To access the river we had to go from the front. The room was clean, comfortable and spacious. Take your own soap, shampoo etc, They provide bare minimum and not so good quality. Overall nice stay.

Better than we could have hoped

Wish we could have stayed longer; would have enjoyed coffee on the deck and watching the river. Room is very large, spotless, and has everything one would need. Owners are friendly. Convenient to Bryson City.

We were very pleased with Riverbend Lodging, even though it was a very old facility, the condition was excellent! The owners are taking very good care of the lodge. The river out back was absolutely beautiful and so relaxing. We will stay here again if we’re in the area.

Checking in was easy and Room was very clean. Nice outside sitting area.

Very nice, clean room! Only issue was we were at end of building and couldn't connect to wifi, no big deal for us.

Train trip

Great location & very peaceful!

This is a nice small (10 rooms) locally owned motel in Bryson City NC. It is located on the river and has chairs, tables and BBQ units beside the river. Sounds carried from the room next to us. All in all we would stay again.

Really nice locally-owned motel in Bryson City. Friendly staff and the room was exceptionally clean and thoughtfully appointed (fridge, microwave, coffee maker, etc). Comfy bed. It was really nice to hear the river as we were sleeping. We got in late and left early the next morning, so we didn't have time to fully appreciate all the outdoor amenities (picnic tables, etc), but will definitely be back.

Great, peaceful place to set by the river and relax. Close enough to town but also just far enough away to relax. Thank You, Robin and Randy.

Tubing Trip

Owners were extremely nice, rooms were very clean and comfortable for our family. Close to attractions and restaurants. Beautiful river view.

clean, quiet, perfect for a couple, great river view

This is an older renovated property on the banks of the Tuskaseegee River. We stayed in a king room, which was spacious and spotless; not modern, not fancy, but perfectly enjoyable. It was nice to have our coffee outside in the morning and watch the river wake up. A bit of road noise outside but not noticeable at all in the room. A/C worked great, as did fridge and microwave. We will absolutely stay here again.
