I had the pleasure of staying at the Renaissance Hotel during my recent vacation. It is a nice hotel with good facilities and cleanliness. The staff are friendly and polite, especially the reception and luggage storage department on the ground floor. We received a lot of help. However, there are some areas that need improvement. The elevator usage rate of the hotel is very high, the indicator light is not obvious enough, and the door opening time is too short, which has caused door pinching several times. In addition, towels produced in 2022 are still in use. These are some minor issues. Overall, it feels good, especially the hotel is very convenient to public transportation. I would choose this hotel again if I have the opportunity.

Great service also friendly staff very quick to respond - lovely breakfast catering for Asian and western pallets - only constructive critique is that in winter December cooler months the heating is high in the rooms and we needed to move rooms to get a room that windows could open as I like to sleep in a cooler environment of around 18-21 Celsius and I find 25-30 Celsius too hot to sleep in - luckily the hotel was able to move me to a room with windows that can open - Hotel is right by the metro so it was super easy to get to the airport and also a wonderful shopping centre below it - over all great hotel

Bad experience for the club room

stayed this hotel on March, was feel good. So last week I stay again when I back Shanghai. But absolutely no right, upgrade the room to club, but doesn’t feel anything 6m bigger than normal room as room details shows, only the level was higher. The room so humid and the air-co was can not do cool down. Change the room still the same. Staff is nice to help, but the room for which I chosen club room is total awful.

Very nice central location. In a high-rise sharing a mall with many restaurants and shops (was very handy when we were stuck indoor for half a day due to a typhoon). Very close to all transportation. You can also walk to nearby very active neighborhood. Room a little small but ok. Odd that bathroom and bedroom are separated by a glass window with only a Venetian blind for privacy.

The place is very conveniently located . With out exiting the building complex you can easily get to subway and the mall. The hidden hotel service charges upon arrival was a shock. It was not mentioned at the reservation. Thumbs down.

Very convenient location and the service was so good.

The AC in the hotel is subpar in the hot summer days. We set the temp of the AC to very low degree, yet it still felt hot in the room when moving around. The room is not cleaned very thoroughly, and the shower head can be better. We stayed here before, and it was great. But this time a little disappointing.

Highly recommended

Can't adjust air conditions temperature ! When outside temperature almost 90 degrees! Very hot and call technician answered yhat is normal because its end of October ! Also in the room no refrigerator not as advertised !

Not bad, but could use a refresh

The hotel is getting worn. The neighborhood is good. But the staff was so so.

It is a nice place, in the middle of the city, but out of the hustle and bustle of the streets.

Overall nice. But room has smoke smell despite being non smoking room. Seems to be the standard for china hotels

good swim pool, delicious and healthy breakfast option

Aged property. Room was hot and needed fan. Hot tub at gym was not working. Towel are very used although clean. For the 5 star rating, this place needs to be updated.

Horrible hotel

Awful. The air conditioner don’t work in the whole hotel, the fridge was warm and the shower without pressure. I ever saw a 5 star hotel Ian this condition.

Different from what is used to be

Disappointed with the stay. It is too crowded. Executive lounge is closed . Lack of privacy . This is the result of the Covid situation .

It's very convenient, the quilt is clean, the tea set is not complete, there is no free tea and coffee, some drinks need to be paid, I don't like this unclear service concept so much.

Good location clean and updated facility with good service amenities

Pros: Hotel is linked to the shopping mall and subway. Cons: Noticed dirt on the floor in the toilet upon check-in and it was there for 4 days. The bed covers were touching the floor. There is still room for improvement for cleanliness.

Highly recommended hotel

The location and buffet breakfast are excellent although the guest room is warmer than we thought and the temperature can not be adjusted (kept at 26’C). Hotel staff is polite. Front desk help line is quick in responses. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone love visiting Shanghai.

Staff is friendly and professional. Great location for public transport and easy to call for taxi. Spread of Breakfast is good. Bed is very comfortable.

Amazing Hotel.

Amazing Hotel in Shanghai. I have been here twice and love it!! We stayed with my girlfriend for 7 days. The views of Shanghai from far is the best I have seen. Breakfast is amazing. Rudi is very nice guy, thanks much!!! I would definitely stay here again and would reccomend it to my friends.

Fab hotel

Business trip

I have stayed in the hotel many times. Great locations with 2 big malls and beside train station. Check in on 25th level that is the one thing I feel it’s inconvenient. The room this round I find the humidity is very high. Wet floor and wet clothes remains wet even after 24 hours. Not sure how this will be fixed but certainly not comfortable with this conditioned.

not so satisfying service for a 5 star hotel

There are a few things that i could recall during the 2 nights stay in the hotel: -- the check in process is really slow; -- and the room is not ready even though we arrived at the hotel around 5pm; this happened to me and also my colleagues. -- i asked for toothbrush upon check-in; the reception forgot and called me to confirm; then they didn't do it until i called again from my room; -- i called the service desk to request for express checkout as i got an early plane to catch; nobody at the front desk pick up the call upon two attempts. I gave up.

With the price, the room/amenity is so so. Staff is very helpful and friendly. Location is good.

Impressive services from the 1st floor lobby (concierge), Gym and swimming pool, front desk, restaurants, and housekeeping made our stay pleasant and memorable. Overall this is a very nice hotel. Excellent hotel. One needs to take the metro to get to downtown or other interesting places, but the metro station is right under the hotel, so not a big deal.

Great hotel

This hotel has a prime location, upstairs of a large shopping center. It is right above a subway station, very convenient for getting around, including to the training station and the airports. It has a robot that delivers coffee and other stuff.

A bit out of way but right on the Metro line. Vey nice hotel, would stay there again.

Good stay. Nice hotel. Rooms were not bad and have amazing views. We had to take a taxi (about 80 RMB) to get to the bund and city center. The metro is right across the street.

Would go again just for the view

Me and my wife stayed here for 3 weeks and it was one of the best hotels I have stayed at till now. The view was amazing from my room and the amenities in the room were fabulous. The staff was very nice and cooperative when it came to any requests or concerns. Overall a perfect 10/10

The receptionist will charge more rates for stayed higher levels every time. The hotel looks nice on anterior lights up on evenings, but, it turned off on 10 pm, it doesn’t looks brilliant and dazzling.

Hotel situated in a convenience location, right above Longemont Shopping Mall, right across from Raffles Mall and there are dozens of good restaurants nearby.

The staff were very polite and helpful. The buffet breakfast was great with a wide selection available. The room was well appointed, but a few small things showed that it may be due for refurbishment soon - perhaps just replacing the drapes would help. One light didn't work.

Super location, clean, comfortable, quiet room

The hotel room is well maintained and free of smoking odor which is very rare In China. Hotel location is so convenient, has easy access to restaurants and shopping mall and is connected to few subways. Subway number 2 can take you to two airports, city center, and train station. Hotel lobby and decoration is not fancy, but the room is quiet and clean. The bed is very comfortable and shower works perfectly. The only complaint we have is the missing map for shopping area directions and signs at the shopping mall are not clearly marked. Highly recommended this place for people who need to access both airports or train stations.

Good hotel and good location. Not so good breakfast

Not a good Renaissance hotel.

Pros: Spacious room size, good location with many restaurants around, right above metro. Cons: ignorant staffs, loud cleaning lady who shouted every morning and banged her cart around every corner making an unpleasant resting environment. No sound proof.

Metro station line 2 is under the hotel, and it takes you everywhere!! Best location!!

Nice hotel and the best price

Zhongshan park is a convenient location. Metro 2 line connects you to both airports without serious walking. During business hours you can in and out from below shopping mall. Hotels offers deep discount if you are lucky and free breakfast too. I did not pay extra to get the best view but my room has a city view facing north. Shopping mall does have excellent restaurants go there early to get seats. This mall has a lot of people.

Room reservation to Hotel.com. The reception do not have the record of the reservation in spite of showing the confirmation voucher from hotel.com. A bad experience with the hotel.

nice view, friendly staff, perfect location

great view on high floors, friendly and efficient staff, convenient location because the hotel is connected to the subway station, but the breakfast was so-so. Swimming pool was closed for renovation. Nice gym.

One of my most favor hotels in shanghai

Great location, great service, delicious breakfast. Particularly I really appreciated their staffs on the first floor lobby who did their best to get the taxi for me at the Chinese new year eve where the street was almost empty.

Staff were very helpful and very friendly. English was the best I have experienced in Shanghai hotels. I highly recommend this hotel and I will be returning!

Prime location to get around the City!

Location was GREAT - "Cloud 9" mall is right below the Hotel and with lines 2, 3 and 4 of the subway right below the hotel/next to the hotel. So many choices of local and western food nearby - this area is quite the hub at this part of the City. The decor of the room was a tad dated (think 90s) but still comfortable. The room safe was damaged and when alerted, it was promptly replaced. When the Hotel failed to issue a wake-up call (luckily I woke up with my own alarm) - they personally came and apologise and thereafter, my wake up calls were prompt.

Nice hotel, good location.

I stayed in two different rooms, first one was too cold. Second one was a little too warm, all the temperature was pre-set already, you can not change it. You can only turn it off. So I don’t like their air conditioning system, everything else is good.

Very satisfied

The hotel was excellent, both the facility and the service. The staff was very courteous and helpful. The club room was very nice, although not too large, but quite sufficient. The breakfast on 58 was excellent and in the evening was quite sufficient for dinner. Overall a very pleasant stay.

Disappointed

We went here directly from a 4 day stay at the Renaissance in Beijing. The latter was superior in every way. I thought that having the check-in on the 25th floor was odd and less than convenient.

Toilets towel

I have stayed for four Nights and the towel for shower was pretty old. On one day, I observed a bunch of hairs tangled on the old towel. I am disappointed and this should not happens for a chain 5 star hotel.

Hotel Review ... business trip

Pros -Food -Hotel room was nice -Gym area is amazing (pool and spa included) -Very convenient location (shopping mall is next door) -Club lounge service was great and very attentive (worth the extra money to upgrade the room as you save on food and drinks) -Hotel Wifi had access to all regular social media (Blocked across all China) Cons - Laundry was extremely expense -Had a flight early in the morning 4:45am and went down to the lobby.. security was sleeping and nobody else was around not much help to get transportation to the airport. -No ATM within the hotel

An impressive beautiful hotel at a super convenient location. Clean big room wth decent amenities. Easy check in, recommend for business stay as it is not noisy.

Well located hotel

This hotel is well located and all rooms are above level 25. Expedia's picture of its deluxe double room is misleading, as the picture shown is actually a premium room. Please make correction. The hotel is a high rise hotel with great view of the city. The buffet breakfast is just so so, feel like their staff are not motivated, some very sad faces you have to see to kick off your day. Rooms are okay, comfortable beds, lots of mirrors to make the room a little larger.

The concierge at 1st floor could be more helpful and enthusiastic.

After trying many hotels, this is now my favorite!

I have stayed at this hotel many times in the last 12 months. It offers a great value in Shanghai. The location is very convenient. It's a very short walk to subway lines #2, #3 and #4. The #2 line connects to the two major airports, the main railway station, and many other attractions in Shanghai. The hotel is inside a huge mall with great food selections (easily over 60 restaurants with many international flavors) at affordable prices. The WiFi speed at the hotel is very fast, unlike some older Shanghai hotels. What's not to like? The only challenge is taxi, which may be difficult to get at rush hours, this is a common Shanghai hotel issue. This is now my preferred hotel in Shanghai. I went to Shanghai 16 times in the last two years so I tried many hotels.

Trouble sleeping

There isn't really anything wrong with the facilities on offer here. The issue is that neither I, or my colleagues that were also staying, slept very well at all during the stay. As soon as I moved onto my next hotel I slept very well. I don't know if this was the a/c or the sheets, or the pillows... I just don't know, but I raise it as it was a common complaint amongst 5 different travellers all staying in separate rooms. Other than that the staff were attentive and helpful and facilities otherwise good.
