Fabulous lakeside motel. Spotlessly clean, very well maintained, comfortable bed, within walking distance of the Main Street.

Homey Stopover

Amazing stop over in a lovely lakeside village. Staff was welcoming and friendly. Room and property were immaculate. Hotel offered beautiful views and walking proximity to all the town center has to offer. The kitchenette allowed us to grab some pasta at the grocery store and have a relaxed “home cooked” meal.

You couldn’t find a better place to stay. Beautiful lake front property with a view, spotlessly clean, very friendly property manager, extremely comfortable and quiet property. I loved the heater in the bathroom for chilly mornings and the heated towel rack. Also, I mistakenly left behind a backpack with important contents and the property manager has been extremely helpful in getting the items shipped to me. So grateful!

Gorgeous lakeside luxury rooms. The in room jacuzzi was amazing

We had a lovely stay here, as we were touring on a Harley Davidson, Kerrie really looked after us and let us use the garage to keep the bike dry. The facilities here are superb, ask for room 14 which has one of the best lake views. Kerrie was an excellent host and really looks after the Customers. Breakfast in the room was great as well.

Comfort, convenience, and a great view!

This place was phenomenal!! Wonderfully situated on the lake with an ideal view and convenient (walking distance) to literally everything. Clean, comfy, and well-appointed. An excellent hostess who gave wonderful advice, booked all experiences, made reservations for dinner, you name it; this cannot be under-rated, as the weather conditions change rapidly in Fjordland and having someone who can help with bookings, advice, and changes of plans was immeasurably helpful! The little touches were amazing - water on hand to refill bottles, great laundry facilities, ease of parking, etc...Cannot recommend this place highly enough!

A gem on the lake

A lovely apartment style Lodging... looked very new and was immaculate. Spacious, not over the top fancy, but very nicely decorated and top tier linens. One of the better places we've stayed in several weeks across NZ, beating out some 5 star places. Lovely view of the lake, but do note that your patio is the front door of your room and acts as a walkway connecting all the rooms so no privacy outside (you can pull the curtains Inside for total privacy). Would happily stay here again.

Big room, walkable to town centre and a nice view of the lake! Toaster and coffee machine provided in the room. Great stay overall!

Such an amazing clean well kept property highly recommend if you plan on traveling to Milford sound great place to stop and stay as a halfway point Will not be disappointed

Location perfect. Accommodation perfect. Assistance from Kerri perfect - she went as far as loaning me her rain jacket for our trip to Milford Sound. Lovely experience - I highly recommend.

The rooms are large and very comfortable. The staff recommendations for restaurants and activities were great. The rooms have sliding doors that open onto a joint balcony area with chairs outside and great views of the lake and mountains. Or, you can just sit on your bed and look out the sliding doors at the same view.

This property is super clean and management/staff are amazing! All of the lodging in town are a little older, so a bit dated. Would definitely choose this property again!

Kerri, the owner/operator, was fabulous. Had wonderful dining recommendations, umbrellas and rain jackets available for inclimate weather and suggestions for activities while in Te Anua. Would definitely stay here again when we return.

This has to be the cleanest and best Hotel room/apartment we have ever stayed in and we have travelled to a lot of countries. The outside was immaculate. Attention to detail was excellent. I would highly recommend anyone to stay here and this is only a short walk to the town centre and tour operators. Great place and staff!

We really enjoyed our stay here- the view of the lake is beautiful and it’s conveniently located. The staff is very friendly and helps provide recommendations for restaurants/things to do. I highly recommend this place.

Enjoyed our stay

Really enjoyed our stay. Very friendly staff with good recommendations. Mattress wasn't the most comfy compared to our preference, but would still highly recommend.

Kerri our host was first class! She was so welcoming. It felt like staying with friends and family. It’s the only hotel I would stay at in town especially because of Kerri.

Lovely place with the staff being very helpful. Just what we needed for a couple.

Property was lovely! Right on the lake and the service was fantastic. The only real downside was that it was very very hot and no way to cool down - not even a little fan. It was unusual for te anau to get that hot, but impacted our visit because no one slept well at all.

This place is immaculate, I’m going to give it the cleanest ever status! Great local recommendations on arrival, really thoughtful touches like room spray in the bathroom and candles for the spa bath. Very well equipped throughout

Disappointed

Couple of disappointments staying here. We were asked to move our car in the pouring rain to another area of the carpark as the bottom unit had people checking in with two cars. The carpark was almost empty and no one ever did park in the space we were asked to move from. We had also asked for a later checkout and were happy to pay additional - we were told although they were not busy, our room had the next guests checking in earlier than the regular time the following day - we needed to check out at 10am. No offer to move rooms to an empty one where this may have been accommodated. Following introductions we were asked what we did for jobs which we found odd. The room was clean but we felt probably not 5-star like our usual accommodation.

Enjoyed our 2 night stay here, i would definitely recommend. They have great heating, and comfy beds. Lovely, helpful staff that helped us with tips for our trip to Milford. And the view is also nice from the room

During difficult times that we (New Zealand) find ourselves in with Covid our experience at Radfords and Te Anau far exceeded our expectations with wonderful memories to take away. Our room overlooked the lake with stunning views with the establishment in beautifully manicured gardens. Located within a 5 minute walk to the town centre and lake activities Radfords location is superb. Thank you Kerri and Georgia (Kerri’s beautiful little granddaughter that was visiting) for a wonderful two nights/stay of luxury.

The rooms and grounds are immaculate! Stay from start to finish, including service was outstanding. Will definitely be back when down that way.

We really enjoyed staying at Radfords on the Lake. Check-in was welcoming and we had a lovely room upstairs. The bed was super comfortable, and the pillows were perfect. The room was clean and fresh.

Great location, with views over the Laje to the mountains. Terrific room, very comfy bed, loads of heating.

What great people. Te Anau might be suffering from Covid19 but it has not stopped the amazing hospitality. We were given great advice on where to eat, which tours and how to get the best out of our stay. The 1 bedroom apartment was clean, spacious and comfortable and the view was great. What was memorable though was the friendly and helpful owners.

We had a good stay. Check in was smooth and friendly. The room was modern and clean. Location is right across street from lake, so all rooms have lake views. Also, very short walk into town (4-5 minutes) where all the restaurants, food markets, etc are.

Room was immaculate! Loved our stay there. Only negative was we were on first floor and had little privacy as people walked to/from their rooms. Upper floor would definitely be nicer. Front desk staff very friendly. Easy walk to town, restaurants, water taxi. Highly recommend.

Loved our stay at Radfords on the Lake! Kerri was spot on with many recommendations to us for activities and dining! We loved our stay in Te Anau!

Relax at Radfords on the Lake

Radfords gets high marks from us and others because it sets high standards and achieves them. The location across from the lake is part of it, but there are others on the lake as well. Radfords takes extra care with how the unique rooms are furnished and maintained. The design gives every room a memorable view, indoor and outdoor space, and comfortable surroundings. Owners and staff aim to please including by sharing tips about the nearby town center and the greater Fiordland area.

It was so comfortable staying in the suite. It was fully equipped for cooking and had a table outside which we sat at in the sun, overlooking the lake. The staff was extra friendly and helpful.

Great hosts. Location. Super clean and well fitted out.

Good location Short walk to the lake and close to the supermarkets and restaurants We stayed in a 2 bedroom apt The bedrooms were very good sized with 1 king bed and 1 twin bed Clean Small shortcomings in the bathroom eg stained spa bathtub

The room was lovely, and location excellent. The only wish I have is for better wifi connection for playing games during wind-down for the day. Would love to return here if the opportunity arises!

The Place to Stay in Te Anau

Great motel - nicer than many hotels that I have stayed in costing far more. Perfect location too. Highly recommended.

Great location on the lake. Kerri is an excellent host and very friendly and welcoming. Rooms are clean and well equipped, and it is a short stroll to the town centre. Stay here if you are going to Milford Sound. Do not pay hundreds to stay in Milford - it's a boat dock with a view and nothing else.

The property was well kept with a great view of the lake. The room was nicely decorated. The location was convenient to restaurants and town. A great place to stay before your drive to Milford Sound. Kerri was wonderful.

We had a great stay here; it's nothing fancy, but a motel with everything you need when in the area for a couple of days. Really comfortable bed, great kitchenette, lots of space in the living/dining open plan area. Staff were all really friendly and helpful, remembered the questions we had asked the day before and followed up to see how our day was, and how the recommendations they made went (and made sure to offer that we have a chocolate for our pillows when we mentioned that we didn't need housekeeping in the morning!). Just far enough from the central street of town that it is quiet along the lake front, but still an easy 10 minute walk in for dinner each night. Much recommended!

Te Anau is very pretty and Radfords on the Lake were great host.

Perfect location adjuscent to lake Te Anau, it is cozy and clean for an overnight stay on the way to/from Milford Sound.

The hotel was situated right off Lake Te Anau and the ambience was nice. The staffs were also great.

Immaculately clean. Very comfortable. Great location

OMG, the property is extremely clean, quiet and well-maintained. I loved the way that our living room faced the lake and a lot of sunshine was coming in during the day. Just a perfect setup to enjoy the beautiful view of the lake. The kitchen was well-equipped for preparing light meals like breakfast and lunch. Even the pullout sofa bed was comfortable to sleep in. I felt very pampered by the property.

The apartment is excellent. The bathroom is a bit too small for six guests.

Welcoming short stay

Service was tremendous. Very welcoming and very friendly. Even assisted us to change our tour times earlier so we wont be too cold or stuck in peak hour traffic. Rooms were ok. My side of the bed was quite sunken. Cleanliness ok. Good motel styled accomodation for short stay.

The bed was lumpy, uncomfortable and well past its use by date, not what I would expect of a $300 per night hotel. We told owners and they said bed was about 6 years old and good from their perspective.

This is a very clean and well maintained property. Everything works and is of good quality. It is a five minute walk from the center of town. No breakfast included. Lake front with great view. Very helpful and happy management. I would stay again.

Excellent location, immaculate grounds with stunning views across the lake and within a short stroll to the town centre. Rooms are really comfortable, spacious, spotlessly clean, quiet and decorated beautifully. Also the staff are all really lovely and helpful and have a wealth of local knowledge about things to do and see in the area.

Kerri was extremely helpful and made the stay even better. All the rooms have a fabulous view of the lake, although the upstairs rooms are better.

Kerri was amazing, as everyone there. We had such a great time that we stayed two more days.

We enjoyed our stay very much, the room/hotel was very clean and the layout and facilities were well thought out. Keri was very helpful and her recommendations were good and the views from the room were fantastic. If we came back we would certainly stay there again.
