The hotel is very tired and in need of refreshment. It met a brief though, a place to sleep. The bed is old, and we were woken at 530am with singing from somewhere that echoed up the building from the outside. It’s an old quest, but suitable located to attend a Phoenix game or event at the cake tin. There is most definitely a more modern Quest just down the road.
Photos online are very deceiving. Apartment is worn and rough. Good location and friendly enough staff. Parking is inconvenient across the road and can only be paid for in 12hr segments. Chose to pay at the property then they tried to charge me the day before and still charge credit card fee. Overall, an average stay, fine for one night. There is 3 different ‘Quest’ hotels on the same block, be mindful which one you are booking.
Property could do with a minor touch up but was clean and comfortable. We had a two-roomed appartement which was ideal for a family. Close to everything you could want.
Unable to stay here once we arrived and saw it, had to find more suitable accommodation well below standard represented on internet and unable to be refunded once we saw it. Do not recommend.
Friendly check in and good value for money.
Spacious and clean, but could have done with more glasses and plates
Great location, quiet, spacious 1 bedroom apartment. Lovely to have a proper shower (not over a bath).
Great location - average doesn’t look much like the photos - tired and single glazed- no air con - The toilets didn’t flush well prompt response to have a look at the toilets- worked better- good beds and well stocked kitchen Noise from the street could be heard loudly from internal room. On balance a reasonable stay if you’re not looking for flash
We stayed for 2 nights. Great location. Easy walking distance to all local attractions.
Not comfortable at all
After hours check-in was great. Unfortunately, the bed was awful.
Handy location for a one night stay in central Wellington.
While it is nicely located and we were pleased with the room, the level of noise through the night was unacceptable. Road, vehicle and people noise prevented adequate rest.
Good location in central wellington but a very old tired building, with old furniture and terrible pillows. Friendly welcome on arrival and departure.
The property was actually terribly dirty and disgusting. The external windows were not cleaned, the rooms were badly run down. It was a terrible experience. I chose Quest for my team as I have stayed there before, but will never stay at a Quest again
Location was perfect. Good size apartment. It's a shame you can't use the balcony. We would stay again
Central but entry was poor
Property was freezing cold! There was only a very small oil heater to heat the very large space. It didn’t make any difference. I stayed for business and the room service came to make the room up everyday at 4.30pm. I had already been to work and come back to rest which was then interrupted by the need to make up the room. I stayed 4 nights and the price was very reasonable.
The room was cold and the tiny oil column heater had no effect. Excellent transport links
Dishwasher not working. Beside lights faulty.
The photos show the property in a better condition than reality.
great place. will come back
The reception staff was amazing and provided with extra towels and coffee. The apartment was spacious and room oil heater was provided. Loved the stay !
convenient location
convenient location, helpful staff. Property itself is quite dated and could do with a refresh.
Well located .. Comfortable Beds . Furnishings are a bit tired . Good laundry facilities. We arrived after dark and was raining. The directions to obtain key from lock box were reasonable. But could be simplified. And direction to car parking was non existent. Could have gained entry from level three instead of one .
Great location- hard to beat for a stadium event - excellent hosts
Spacious, comfortable, excellent bathroom and reasonable carparking (nearby public car park )
The property is in a good location. The entrance from Lambton quay is dirty and very run down. The rooms are very tired, the beds are hard and you can feel the mattress springs when lying on them. The room was spacious and clean.
I like the size or the room and would love if i could stay in an apartment like that but knowing what time the cleaning crew makes the rounds would be great so i know when to vacate the room for the day. Would gladly stay again
Excellent for family stay
Easy walking distance to the stadium. Clean, warm and quiet.
This property did not look like the photos. All the furniture was really run down and cracking and there was a lot of dirt and splatters on the walls. The area of the hotel was okay- not too loud and easily walkable.
Such a perfect location but it’s really tired. Carpet stained and for the price it’s not good enough
The staff is really nice and helpful. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. Great location. I will definitely stay here when next I’m in Wellington
So central
Comfortable and convenient
The apartment complex is very convenient, between Lambton Quay and the Terrace. It was clean, pleasantly large, with all facilities one needs for a busy stay.
Very tired. Stained carpet. No soap. Hallways smelt of some elses meal
Great location handy to all Areas , friendly Staff , had Room warmend up for us &luggage in Room (as we where on a Day trip ...Would definitely recommend &stay there again
Great location, big room. Would stay again
Great Stay , very central ,
Friendly staff clean room central location Definitely stay again
The room I was given so bad I had to request a change. That wasn't much better but was high enough up that some of the noise outside could be ignored. The overall cleanliness was bad, the kitchen area salt/pepper shakers filthy, first rooms dishwasher broken, broken bathroom fan so it stayed damp which explained all the black mould everywhere. The first room had no headboard just an old hard mattress against a contcrete wall next to a filthy cold window. There was gaps in the windows, the only heating was a small old oil heater that did nothing. Incredibly basic, old, even swelling & stains in the walls and doors from where there's been an obvious flood at some point. The toilet made random noises throughout the night that were so loud I could even hear it through earplugs. Really one of the worst hotel stays I've ever had, and I've had a lot.
Kitchen very good and great shower. Apartment comfortable. We couldn't work out some of the TV and there was no hangers in the wardrobe.
Well priced and clean with lots of space
Spacious
Great location
Great location, just a bit dated needs a fresh up but other than that was good. Receptionist does understand English so that is a barrier.
Great spot with a kitchen in Downtown Wellington
The rooms are very dated and areas falling apart. Mould in most of the grouting in the bathroom/shower. Beds horrendous and have clearly not been updated in the room I was in. Road works on the Terrace outside the room all night, whilst not the hotel’s fault, this highlighted the lack of double glazed windows and any sound-proofing/dampening at all. Very few redeeming features of this hotel and I personally wouldn’t stay again.
The room was large for the price , overall very clean however the shower could have used a bit more cleaning and the hair dryer was filled with lint. Overall very satisfied however the hair dryer is quite the fire risk. Would stay here again.
Easy to find. On the bus route.
Excellent location when on holiday with main bus stop right out front. 2 mins to train as well, never needed a rental car at all. But property extremely run down, needs to be bowled or shut down and fully renovated. Room was spacious enough and good with having a young child as I could close off bed area but wouldn't stay again due to condition of property.
We had a short but very, comfortable stay. The room offered everything we needed and checkin was efficient and quick. The only confusion came from stating that check in was in Terrace road. It should read EITHER Lambton or Terrace. Otherwise would gladly stay there again.
Lovely room, was a nice stay
Via Lambton quay a bit difficult to find but otherwise a great place
The room was spacious and clean with good amenities and in a good area close to shops/bars. The only downfall is their were no sky channels or Netflix etc. Just the basic tv channels. We enjoyed our stay here.
Large apartment.
It was extremely confortable and enjoyable. Thank you very much . I will be back
Good location walk into Wellington central and waterfront Large room with small kitchen
Good location for worthwhile places to go. Helpful reception. Loop guy
Handy to transport, shops , stations & airport shuttle.
Very pleased to have found this apartment to stay in. Perfect position for ferry ( foot passengers) and excellent value.
Bed was comfortable. Multiple faults - reception staff ignorant of area, helpless. Shower water pooled around toilet. Multiple light bulbs dead. Toaster contained remnants of cooked cheese. Handle fell off serving spoon. Losse handle on saucepan.
We had a pleasant one night stay at this property with 2 bedrooms that were spacious and large common space. Located very conveniently to lots of shops, cafes, and restaurants.
Good value for money. The room could do with an update of kitchen items, etc. There is no air-conditioning, there was just one upright fan in the room. The foyer on ground level would be nicer if cleaned regularly.
On both early mornings awoken by a rubbish truck emptying a large rubbish container using hydraulic gear. Will not stay there again
The check in and out were easy, it is usual in New Zealand that the check in time is between 9 and 6:30. But Quest has a system that is actually easy. The property is older, but inside the rooms are clean and nice. Within walking distance to a lot of attractions, very nice surrounding. Overall, a good place to be. This Quest location doesn't have washer/dryer in your suite.
What a wonderful, well catered for apartment! We had an after hours pack waiting for us with very easy instructions on parking in the building across the road.Only 5 minutes drive from our ferry docking, it made a late night check in so easy. We could not fault our stay.
A great place to stay and would stay there again
Nice place to stay
Great location, spacious room. What let the property down was cleanliness - general cleaning ok, attention to detail poor. Not enough comfortable chairs for 4 people.
Enabled a late check in for me
Welly on a giod day
The room was more than I expected and really comfy. Wn turned on great weather so very enjoyable.
Property had a great central location & was close to the waterfront area, shopping & dining options. Our room was very quiet apart from the noise from early morning rubbish collection. The front desk staff member was most helpful and made as very welcome
A good place to spend 4 nights in Wellington
Great place to stay in Wellington. Excellent location - walkable to most places and 5 mins walk to airport express bus stops. Very spacious apartment for studio unit. An old building but pleasantly surprized on arrival into unit. Very quiet on 7th floor
Construction noise
Accomodation was as described but construction was taking place on two sides of the building until around 9pm which wasn’t disclosed when we made a last minute booking. Took our children a long time to get to sleep once the noise stopped. I spoke to reception who didnt help at all.
Enjoyed the stay
Really enjoyed our stay here , we’re able to find a book I had left behind in the apartment, very helpful.
Sucked
So done in another room from approx 2am till 4am shouting screaming banging having a domestic in another room
good central location
Rooms were reasonable and spacious, however beds were below par and very hard.
Great location, good access both sides of building. Glass sliders not very good for noise on bedrooms. Property is a little tired. Staff were very helpful when we had a request.
Comfortable unit. Access to checkin tricky for ‘foot’ people from the Lambton Quay address.
Everything was fine, but unremarkable. The frustrating bit was that I did an after hours check in (only about 8:30pm, not that late), which requires you to press the call button on the door to be let in. Rang three times and there was no answer, while standing outside in the cold with a gale. Fortunately some residents were coming home and let me in.
Overall. All good
Good size rooms. Very clean. Close to shops and restaurants. No parking was disappointing.
Close to everything - safe and clean!
I loved the size of the apartment. It offered all the amenities necessary for a comfortable stay. The continental breakfast was a bargain. The apartment's central location in the city is perfect for any tourist.
Upon walking into the apartment, we were faced with a bad smell. The state of the rooms were terrible and it should have been refurbished at least a decade ago. There were throw rugs over the couches since they were in too bad a shape to sit on. The blinds were old and dirty, the oven seal was falling off and the whole place felt so old and unsanitary we asked for another room. We were told all rooms were the same. We are shocked they are renting out the rooms in such poor condition. Upon complaining and after follow-ups for a refund, we were told they actually closed the room as “out of order awaiting refurbishment”. If they deemed the room that bad, how did they rent it to us! This experience made our Wellington visit quite disappointing overall. Stay away from this property.
Staff very helpful.
***AVOID*** Massive water damage and mould on bathroom ceiling. Water ingress from outside apartment resulting in mould damage. Broken dishwasher, leaking taps, broken window, mould in shower, filthy carpet, etc Summary: Rip Off
Spacious and well designed apartment. Close to everything and the staff were lovely. They kindly arranged a late check out for us. We would definitely stay here again.
Very rundown building and rooms had a lot of very very worn furniture. I won't be staying here again.
We received excellent service Very helpful and friendly reception.
The apartment was good and spacious. Everything was fine. There were two coil heaters which barely kept the unit warm. The weather was cool but it will certainly get colder. Reception was ok buy indifferent.
It’s a funky building with a cool view, fun shaped windows give it an art deco feeling
It's a good location, but the hotel is feeling a bit tired and the in-room guest amenities were sub-par. Appreciated the fresh milk!
Great choice.
We spent three nights in a 2 bedroom appt, and it had everything we needed . It was clean, comfortable and close to a great selection of cafes and restaurants. Although it has a kitchen, there are no cooking essentials (oil, condiments, etc), but with so many adjacent dining options, this wasn't a problem. The staff were friendly and helpful, and we'd be happy to stay there again .
Central close to harbour area and trains
The unit is “ Tired”. It needs a “ Re- Vamp” urgently. Size is good, but no A/C, fittings are OLD. Reception staff excellent. Location is good. Spend some money on the place.
Roomy - bedroom and kitchen lounge - view was office blocks - reception smelt of food cooking bit unpleasant - but for price roomy apartment style and close to lambton Quay. There are other Quests on lambton Quay as well
Clive to city life. I booked the studio which was very comfortable,. I have booked accommodation here at the end of my holiday😊😊😊😊
