Small but comfortable
Small but comfortable beds. Great location. Only downside is that there is only one bathroom. I would probably stay again.
Employees and owners are rude and verbally offensive. The employees made many perverse statements.
Andrew, was helpful and accommodating. He was knowledgeable about everything PodShare. (They're a small business that is big on community). He bought steaks for two people whom we celebrated their birthday a few days into my stay. A few of us chipped in & contributed. Abby, the manager, made two delicious cakes. It was a good time 👍.
The place itself is okay, but their code to open the place up didn't work (I didn't get it wrong, I had the correct code), so with it being 4AM and no one being around to help, I had to sleep in my car. This was a two day trip, this happened on the first day. I didn't expect to get a refund for that night but for the night after too where I told them I won't be returning? BS
Loved the place and the service and the utilities were amazing. the area is safe and tucked away until the last night
Very nice and cozy!
Great location and comfortable beds
Everything was fantastic, great location to public transportation Hollywood Blvd. Comfortable beds, fantastic amenities and lovely people. Thank you to Andrew for his kindness and helpfulness throughout my visit
Property is tucked inside, off main streets. super low-key. It is part of condo building on its own street, was surprisingly quiet in the middle of Hollywood. A block in either direction has food/ shopping/ studios. Main doors were left open to let light and fresh spring air. Seemed safe, as no strange or homeless people seemed to walk on Cosmo street, clean street, security for buildings across street usually comes out. Warning; it is an open loft, hostel. Not hostel w/ rooms and beds. Like a studio apartment w/ a few neatly arranged beds surrounding a kitchen table. Everyone was super quiet, kept to themselves. But this place is definitely vibes for the aspiring person looking into living in LA. Sidenote: management could up training on receiving guest and extra care on general cleanliness. but overall not disgusting or dirty feeling, just felt lived in w guest coming in and out. Pod Bed was comfortable, firm, clean, but kept hitting head on ceiling and the clothes rack kinda useful but also dangerous. Cool they had urinal, but also not sure why a cabinet was in way. Anyways. Freehand has a great lobby to hang and do work and go back to bed. But Podshare Hollywood room is more livable. Wanted to try Podshare Venice to get the vibes of LA, but next time.
Not bad
Not a bad stay if you are used to communal living. There is no privacy at all, and might be long waits for the bathroom at night. Would not recommend for solo female travelers, otherwise an okay accommodation if you are prepared for the experience! Place is clean and liveable, everyone is fairly considerate and keeps the volume down after hours.
T
Easy for seeing the landmarks
Nice place and nice staff
Convenient place for sightseeing and clean bed. We can use bath towels for free. They minimize the maximum customer because of covid, so it was not so problem to sleep with people in the same room. And the staff was very nice!!
The staff was really friendly. The people living there where nice too.
worth the price,
Overall, it was a cool experience, My wife and I enjoyed the the experience, met great people. only down fall for me is lack of air conditioning/cooling system, was a hot night. if we could have extended, my wife and I would have done so. hopefully others are welcomed and enjoy it like my wife and i. Close to hollywood blvd, WIFI accessible, lock panel to door, It wasnt the cleanest, but it was not matter to us. bring a fan!!!!!!!!!!!
Great pod Visit
Host was very helpful
This was my first experience at a hostel. Other guests were quiet and friendly. It's around the corner from the walk of fame but the area is sketchy. Farmer's market on Sunday helped me put up with the craziness around :)
No service at all!!!
The confirmation email did not give us where our room would be. We also didn’t get a code to get in so we never got to our room. We waited on a called back after waiting 1 hour and 30 mins to get confirmation. We never got the call back or got in the room so we are sleeping in our car until our flight arrives at 6 in the morning! I’m not satisfied with this service and I would like a refund!
Amazing Location Cool staff
I Ione this place. It’s super chill super laid back and the staff is hella cool. The price and location are also amazing
Good and central for an expensive city. Awesome that you can swap location for free
NOT what is pictured here.
The Cosmos Street Podshare is not as it appears on the website. Located on an alley type street. People smoking crack and pot outside. Space is communal(which we were fine with), but is filthy, reminded me of a college dorm that is occupied by hoarders. Bags of "stuff", clothing, dishes, toys..covering every floor, stair and table surface. Glass pipe (pot or crack) was lying out on a bed. Only available bed was on top of the "sound room" , approx 10 " up a wall via metal pipes, no rails or safety in place for that sleeping space. Only "safe" is a set of purse size lockers with no locks. Locks for sale at $3 each. Saw no space for our suitcase. Staff person was nice, said it was only bed and could move us to another Podshare a few blocks away. We left and did not return.
Enjoyed the company of all the people in the area. The staff was really friendly and helpful. Great location for Hollywood as well.
Hostel life
It was a nice place that reminded me of hostels I've stayed in Rome. Friendly staff and clean quarters were nice.
Great location but just one shared bathroom.
This is the smallest of the LA PodShares. It's a good crash pad for Hollywood. I still wish the pods had privacy curtains at night but for the price I'm fine with adult bunk beds. A single bathroom (toilet, shower, washing machines all behind one door) means you will likely be stuck waiting or waddling down to a coffee shop.
2mins far away from Hollywood Blvd and 5-10 mins to the theatre area and metro station. Very nice and convenient! Like the staffs there.
staff is very kind
Give and take
Check in and out was a breeze I came into podshare realizing it was a shared area BUT the one of the podmates was sick all night. Lots of coughing and throwing up. While I felt bad for him I got very little rest that first night. Not much privacy but it was a good value. Bit of give and take.
Staff is very kind and helpful! She answer every single question with more information! Excellent location, Excellent staff and super comfortably are shown how amazing this hostel are!!!
We were set to arrive between 2 and 3p. At 2 there was no one there to check us in and the bunk assigned to us from the online CS agent was unmade from the previous guest. The common area was cluttered like a college dorm room and there was no a/c. That was enough. We never returned.
The place is so tiny but that was not the thing. The thing is the gay hotel stuff was very loud(talking to his friends, watching movies without headphones and even sing the songs!) and everything is common space you can hear everything from chewing to farting from the toilet. The worst part is they have BEDBUGS and I got bite every part of my body. NOT RECOMMENDED THIS PLACE.
I'm a Podshare Fan!
I LOVED it! Look, let's be honest. It's a hostel. The amenities are communal, from the kitchen to the bathroom to the only big mirror in front of the only door which is open all the time. But, the location couldn't be more convenient. You can walk out and you are less than a minute away from Hollywood Blvd. You can hear the Sunday Farmers market and its placed on a side street where you don't feel claustrophobic. Before I even checked in, Ashley checked on me to make sure I knew how to get there. And gave me extra info about the LA shuttles. When I arrived, she made my bed with fresh sheets and she was always around to ask how my day was. Jose, one of Podshare's caregivers, is sweet, honest, and friendly. And he will get loud if he needs to! They are bunk beds with comfortable mattresses, with a personal outlet and light in each one. There's chalk space to write your name and small lockers to use. Locks are sold separately. Quiet time is at around 10pm and if you are a light sleeper, there are plenty of complementary earplugs. Definitely take advantage of them! Overall, this is the perfect experience of you want to travel to LA on a budget. What you see is what you get! And in my opinion, it's worth it.
it was good overall :) minor things: long wait for bathroom; might need a two baths at least or separate baths for F/M ? also the ladder smell so bad i could smell the steel on my hand all night.
I loved how convenient the location was, the friendliness of the staff and the accommodations that came with my stay- honestly would come to stay here again!
I checked in and while I was told there would be ample street parking there was none. I parked in a lot that cost almost as much as the room. Ashley who checked me in was very nice and helpful but they had been shooting a film there all day and the pod they gave me had no power and I got the last of the sort of clean towels. There was one late check in guest who snored like he was chainsawing trees. I read a lot of good reviews so I was really disappointed about the experience.
Great hostel option
Great location and the beds were comfortable. The facility is small but the staff is responsive. Just don't expect a hotel for this price. I will be staying again.
Location
They have great staff. Plus, you can't beat their location in Hollywood. Also, I love their philosephy on communal living.
#AWESOME
Daniel and Belen were AMAZING AND PROFESSIONAL HOSTS! I felt like I was staying with family! SUPER CLEAN! LOVED THE EXPERIENCE!
I had a nice 3 night stay there. Friendly staff. Well located close to Hollywood/Vine subway red line station, and other bus lines. Shared working space so lights off at 11pm, and sunrise at 6am (open for work at 10am). If you can sleep through daylight no issue, if not I recommend you bring a sleep mask.
It's very great.
Great people, great location, great price
Great price, fun place to stay, everyone is really really nice. Have to be up and out of bed by 10 am so that the co-workers in the space aren't faced with you. My only complaint, and it's a big one: the doors MUST BE OPEN during 10am -11pm, regardless of the weather. I was there during several days of winter rain, it was literally 50 degrees and wet...and the doors were open till 11pm, and they aren't allowed to turn on the heater. I get that the owner wants to attract the walk-by crowd and get more customers, but when someone has already paid to stay, and is freezing cold, that's not good. Honor MY booking and comfort vs ignoring my shivering for the next POSSIBLE booking, or the guy who wants to pay $15 to use the studio. I'm sure there are some kind of city regulations regarding the temperature range allowed in hotels. Great place to stay, but I beg the owner: please be more flexible about letting your staff respond to the needs of those guests and workers who have already paid and are miserably cold or faintingly hot. That is literally the only thing that makes me hesitate to return. Get a sidewalk sandwich board if you want the walk-by traffic, don't make the paying customers suffer for the sake of the 4 people a day who stick their head in and then wander off. The staff are very nice, and smart, let them have more leeway in determining day-to-day status based on the occupants and conditions. You have good people, let them have some room to make decisions
it was something new and not familiar with. It didn't have network to view sports.
OK but not for long
Everything was good except they didn't have towels when I arrived and the second day, no housekeeping. When I asked the guy at the lobby told me it was illegal for housekeeping to come inside your room unless you had already check out. I think the management changed and the hotel is on its way of becoming a cheap motel. They want to charge for late check out but don't have enough people to come and clean the trash and put new towels if you are staying longer than one night.
great great great place!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
amazingly awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Bed bugs
I got smashed by bed bugs. Enough said.
GREAT!!!!
Just amazing!!! Perfect way to stay somewhere when you don't have a lot of money!! Greatest experience, awesome people!! Thank you so much!!!!!!
The PodShare
Booked a last minute trip to L.A. for a weekend, having not stayed at a hostel in years I decided to try the Podshare and couldn't have been happier with my decision. Everyone working was very welcoming, the hostel itself was very modern, the facilities were clean, and the location was in the heart of Hollywood. If you are travelling alone or are looking for a great place to stay on the cheap I highly recommend you check this place out.
Great Stay!
Podshare is a great place to stay in Hollywood! People are friendly and the beds are very comfortable.
Cool hip place to stay in Hollywood
This place is awesome! Staff and guests were very friendly and welcoming. The kitchen was well stocked with all kinds of breakfast items and tea and coffee. Each bed has it's own TV and clean sheets and towel. It's in a great location central to everything and there are lots of restaurants and clubs nearby within walking distance. They also have parking in a secure lot half a block away but you have to reserve ahead for an extra $10. I would stay here again for sure next time I am in town. It's not fancy but really cool and down to earth...sort of like staying in a cool college dorm. I loved this place. There are only 10 beds so reserve early!
Enjoyable stay
For the most part, I enjoyed the stay, and the communal environment. Everyone was very friendly and the place was clean and tidy. I spent a Saturday and Sunday night, and Saturday night was quite noisy, having been adjacent to the window, there was a party atmosphere out night, a bit loud until about 2:00 am. Sunday night was very quiet. Staff was very friendly too. I would stay again, but bring a pair of ear plugs.
Great place to stay around Hollywood
Stayed one night in PodShare, which was one of my best hostel experiences. The place was clean and tidy, staffs were super friendly. It is located between Sunset and Hollywood Blvd, which was extremely convenient. I met few social people there and had a really good time with them. However, Cosmo street can be really noisy at night, where people walk passed the hostel going to clubs. Also it can be annoying that everyone shares the only kitchen and toilet.
