Beautiful property, great beach, friendly staff!
A resort that is clean with good facilities, let down by expensive poor quality food and some (not all) very poor staff.
Found the staff not very friendly or helpful and a little bit rude at times. Overrated resort in my opinion and we were disappointed with out stay overall. We also found the resort was far too big and impersonal. The cliffs were beautiful and the rooms were spacious.
Hotel stay
We had a two bedroom suite at the Residences. Hotel is beautiful but it is very spread out. To go to beach and main hotel building you need to take a shuttle which you may need to wait for 15-20 minutes. For a 5 star resort service was a bit spotty. We had a mishap at breakfast- was told we can do a la cart instead of buffet but ended up waiting for 1 hour to get eggs which was ridiculous. This hotel is also outside of Albufeira so location is not super convenient - you have to drive to town.
The property is beautifully manicured and our stay was very comfortable. We enjoyed every minute.
Great relaxing place to stay, with the family.
Lovely Place!
Lovely place! Amazing to stay at the Pine Cliffs.
Food on resort is very over priced
Excellent place for a family vacation:
Property was beautifully maintained and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Excellent dining on property as well.
Pine Cliffs - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Absolutely wonderful stay at Pine Cliffs. I travel a lot with work and stay in many hotels. Hands down, Pine Cliffs is one of the best resorts I’ve stayed in. The most amazing and helpful staff that make the whole family feel welcome. Their focus on the children is incredible, with our son being welcomed by name, high fives and a hug each morning at breakfast. The resort offers something for everyone in the family. Plenty of entertainment for Children, quiet areas for Mum and Dad. Great food, stunning views and a brilliant shuttle service to make getting around with a group so much easier. We will be back for sure!
.
Liked the rooms perfect for families but terrifyingly expensive to dine there. Cheaper to uber to an expensive restaurant and uber back than dine on site.
great experience
Lovely resort, very clean and staff are helpful.
Really, really GREAT!
Amazing experience with superior services. Pine Cliffs Resort facilities are really impressive
Amazing experience! Everything was perfect despite COVID-19. Highly recommended!
Excellent stay
A fantastic family resort, the grounds were spectacular probably the best we have seen. Handy access to the ocean, magnificent sunsets. Quiet resort, very relaxing. Hotel Service excellent. We had a wonderful stay. Also great amenities if you play golf, tennis or cycle. Hotel restaurants a little pricier but they are handy. There are other restaurants outside the resort that are close by if you are looking for more price competitive meals. Would definitely come back.
Needs improvement.
Disappointing resort. Not 5 star as advertised. Service is poor and impersonal. Everything costs exorbitant amounts eg cup of nespresso 3.50€, chocolate milkshake 8€, hire of tennis/Padel court for 1hr 45€. Buffet food is terrible and costs 120+€ for 2 adults and 2 kids. The management needs to up their game significantly. At present the run a 3 star resort at best.
Family luxury at its best
Fantastic luxury resort fit for the family with something for everyone. Lots of pools to choose from and of course the breath taking beach with views in all angles. The buffet style meals were great for the kids and they could pick exactly what they wanted. We didn’t stay in main hotel but we stayed in one of the 2 bedroom villas with full kitchen and family room and the shuttle service was great. We will definitely go back and stay even longer. Overall impeccable grounds and beautifully maintained.
The check in was really long, and my girlfriend have to wait 4 hours in the lobby, arrived at 3PM check in at 7PM, they said the room was not ready, more disappointed was at 11h30PM was a man inside our bathroom inside the room, we said was a mistake... was very uncomfortable and feel unsecured
Great vacation The venue, services and staff were exceptional The only problem was that we stayed for such a short period of time !!!
Excellent property. Very clean and well organised apartment with kitchen attached. Spacious rooms en-suite and felt luxurious. Very helpful staff and would fully recommend. Beautiful beach.
Great location which has been well utilised. Property is well maintained. The staff are great. Food is good. Can’t really fault anything. Stayed in 5* different parts of the world, and Pine Cliffs has not disappointed.
Very nice facilities and access to the beach. We greatly appreciated the playground area for our daughter, and used the gym extensively. The resort is rather large and it can initially be difficult to find the way around. We did not know to go to the hotel to check in during the winter season, so got lost for a while...
The resort is gorgeous but the area is nothing special. Albufeira is pretty run down full of the classic low quality English pub and sports bar type of entertainment, cheap and dingy. The only bad part of this resort is the food, ridiculously expensive for average quality food. Would go back but with a little better research of the area
Nice hotel close to the beach and golf. Nice staffs.
Best place for family vacation in Europe!
Spectacular resort! The best place we have ever stayed at in Europe and other places in the world. Very nice facilities and beautifully decorated.
Highly recommend
Had room S611, looking towards the Residence Reception. Staff excellent throughout. Had complimentary 2 bottles of water every day plus chocolates at night, also the cleaner put the dishwasher on for us. Resort was very clean. Limited "upmarket" restaurants outside of the hotel.
Everything a family needs in one luxury resort
Every evening started at the Hotel’s Champagne Bar overlooking the beach followed by dinner and cocktails at the beachfront restaurant while watching our kids playing on the beach. The days were spent in the pool, playing tennis and watching the kids take part in all the daily activities. They loved the pirate ship, self drive buggy cars and visit to the nearby water park...all in all we had a fantastic family holiday.
Very Pleased!
We had a fabulous time at Pine Cliffs Residence. The resort is expansive and has all the amenities one would desire for a family. The only one thing we felt was lacking was the quality and cost of food and beverages at the resort. For the extremely high prices you were paying the food was mediocre. Much better quality food and at a fraction of the cost could be found easily in any of the towns and villages nearby.
Lovely
This is the only hotel that I have ever returned to for a second stay. Need a say more??
lovely location, really well kept - bad service
quite a few reviews mentioning poor service - the hotel usually posts back saying comments are taken seriously and changes will be made, but i cant see anything changing. really a shame as the staff service lets down what is a really great place.
Nice resort with 4/5 star factories but you are paying every penny for it. Not great value for money.
Beautiful resort on beach
Lovely stay. Very big resort and so getting around can be difficult - but not necessary if you want to stay in your hotel section. Gorgeous beach! The walk down is very long - resort provides a path with steps but this is not a stroller or wheel chair access/friendly route. Ate at the seafood restaurant and steakhouse. Loved the seafood restaurant. Recommend to stay at this property
Gorgeous & perfect service!!
Fabulous resort! Amazing service! Anything you want, they deliver! Gorgeous views and well organized resort. Excellent restaurants, although expensive. We will be back!!
Good experience
We stayed at the hotel for one week and we had a good stay. There are some things the hotel does well eg kids club, golf course, lovely well-maintained grounds. However, there are some things that really let it down - but fortunately they are things that the hotel could easily improve if they wanted to. The biggest negative was the service, it was so slow it was frustrating; all of the restaurants seemed under-staffed, the attitude of the staff was often rude and service took ages - it wasted valuable relaxation time! There was also little to no service by the pools - it would have been nice to have staff coming round taking drinks orders, and surely it would be more profitable for them?! Again to do with the service, the train shuttle that takes you around the resort was so infrequent it was a joke - it came every 30mins so if you missed it you had to wait! Why not have 2 or 3 shuttles going around so that it's every 10mins? Also, there was only one heated pool and the others were freezing cold - it was a shame as it's such a big property with so many pools but there was only one that was usable! Overall, we enjoyed our stay but I think the points above make it less likely that we will return to the property unless they are improved.
Overall a lovely stay for a small family, good facilities available for kids. There were a few issues regarding consistency
A fantastic country club experience
An excellent 5 days in a Comfort Plus Residence apartment overlooking the golf course. Utter luxury and the Annabel Croft tennis academy was simply brilliant for both adults and children.
Our family experience at Pine Cliffs was absolutely brilliant, and we have decided that we will be back many times in the future. We really couldnt find a fault during our week at Pine Cliffs residences, and every detail of the resort is very well thought out and totally beautiful. The rooms or should I say apartments are massive, with every amenity you would want to have. We were in a 2 bedroom as we have a 1 year old and a 4 year old. The bathrooms are massive and there is also a fully decked out kitchen and even a small room within the apartment that has a washing machine and dryer. The accommodation is luxurious and every room had its own balcony. There are 7 pools within the resort, and you can choose any of them any time. There is also a gorgeous beach that Pine Cliffs guests can venture to from the resort, with sunbeds reserved and a great restaurant called Mare. Actually there are restaurants all over the resort, which we found were good value, but if not to your liking there are many restaurants around 5 mins walk near the resort (great tasting and very cheap pizza at Rustico Pizza just down the road). Lastly the staff are so helpful and warm, with friendly smiles and a "can do" attitude to any request. Thank you Pine Cliffs for a magical holiday for our family !!
Excellent hotel & facilities
Excellent hotel & facilities, great for families. Stayed in the Residense Apartments which are beautifully appointed, Service at hotel is excellent along with great restaurants, sports and swimming. Highly recommended.
Nice rooms - terrible service
Overall the style and quality of the accommodation was great, but t was let down badly by the service at the restaurants and the availability of staff at key times. We stayed for the 7 days before half term and the first 3 days of half term. For a luxury resort you expect the service to be 'on point', unfortunately it was poor - hour waits for food, no shuttle availability due to lack of drivers, incorrect bills, orders taken incorrectly, 45 min waits when told 5 mins for luggage to be picked up, having to ask several times for food orders and menus... etc.! Although all small things, they are all unnecessary and avoidable, with two small children in tow in takes the edge of a good holiday, especially considering the price. We were not the only ones who noticed as we spoke to several others who were unimpressed. When reported at reception, little notice was taken and we were given the managers email to complain! All a bit lack lustre! We have previously stayed - and returned - to several child orientated luxury resorts in the Algarve and in Greece and thought we would try Pine Cliffs given the reviews, however I will not be returning.
Amazing stay at the Pine Cliffs! Will be back!
Very approachable staff. Great amenities. The suites are beautifully decorated and luxurious.
Great hotel and amenities, beautiful surroundings
Very helpful staff, close to airport, lots to do and lovely hotel with excellent restaurants. Only negative was that our room was some distance from main hotel hub and beach and although buggies and cars were provided, they weren't always available. Check location of room or suite when booking
Excellent
All aspects were excellent.......................................................................................................................................................................................
Excellent Customer Service and Facility
Took a two day break here with some colleagues to play golf. The whole complex is outstanding with really great, friendly customer service (from checkout, to restaurant staff, to the pro shop). The beach is glorious (and there is a lift to take you down from the cliff tops). Golf course is a beautifully kept, but quite short 9 holes. Several pools and an outstanding Spa.
Amazing place and people
We stayed at pine cliffs for 5 nights and thoroughly enjoyed it. It's a lovely hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. Our 2 children 9 and 4 years old enjoyed every moment from the pool to the beach. The food is fantastic, a little pricey but worth every penny. Definitely going someday.
Center Parcs on speed
Great place to go with family. Lots of activities plus indoor pool for rainy days. Beds rock hard. Cleaners hit and miss. Could do with an update in rooms.
Resort of No Regret
This property boasts a beautiful spa, golf course and tennis academy on site. Food is excellent.... beach front....planning on staying here again soon!
Very enjoyable holiday with baby boy and toddler. Good location, handy to the beach. Apartment was very spacious and comfortable
First class stay
I have been going to Pinecliffs regularly over the past 15 years or so and the resort and staff are back on top form . The grounds are beautiful and the staff exceptional . Highly recommended .
Top class place for the family
Pleasant resort for all the family, our two year old really enjoyed himself. The staff were friendly and the accommodation was excellent, we would definitely go again.
Lovely resort
Excellent location, great staff in the Casa pine cliffs, very well maintained and very clean.
PERFECT FOR A RELAXING BREAK
Return visit to Pine Cliffs Residences, a convenient and relaxed, 'no pressure' environment in which to unwind and chill. Taxi from the airport to the hotel, decided to stay within the confines of the hotel and the local town and therefore avoided the need to travel and hence car hire. Did everything we needed to on resort. Facilities were great, albeit a little expensive to eat in the hotel restaurants - in which case go out the gate to the local town where prices are 50% cheaper. Local town offers good supermarkets to avoid the overpriced grocery store on resort, although this did offer convenience when the fridge used up all my beer.
Lovely holiday
The resort is beautiful, but huge.
Great hotel, beautiful setting, BUT not perfect.
The hotel setting and accommodation is very good. Although very expensive, the restaurant options and food were excellent and the facilities on offer could not be questioned. That said, on the whole the level of service does not quite meet the 5* luxury tag. Having stayed in 5* hotels in the middle east and America, the service in those locations is a lot better. More attentive, quicker, sharper, more eager to please. I think this is just a European problem if I'm honest. Pine Cliffs is a very large resort and we were staying in block 10 at the Residences. This was perfect for our requirements for a 2 bedrooms suite. With two young children getting around the resort wasn't easy though. The walk to the beach was too long in 30-40 degree Celsius heat. There is a train shuttle service to move from one area to the other but this is not good enough for a 5* resort. Nobody wants to plan their day around a train timetable. Whilst on the train it was very hot and stuffy and there is also way too many speed bumps to go over that make the journey uncomfortable and very bumpy. If you have a bad back this is not a pleasant experience. The pool around the Casa Pine Cliffs reception was very nice, but the tiles around it were very slippery when wet. My little boy slipped 3-4 times when getting out of the pool and running back to his sun bed. Thankfully he wasn't injured but this urgently needs reviewing as serious injury could occur.
Serviced apartment within a hotel complex
We spent 3 nights in a 2 bedroom serviced apartment within the Pine Cliffs resort. The apartment was furnished to a very high standard and looked new. The staff were very friendly and accomodating. As we have 2 small children, we did not use the tennis, golf or spa facilities, mainly the beach, one of the outdoor pools and the gym. During our stay we had dinner at 3 different restaurants and the food was excellent at all of them. This was without doubt one of the best resorts I have stayed at and despite the price, I would have no hesitation in recommending it. We will definitely be back!
Strongly recommend
Fantastic area and dinning. Wonderful resort very peaceful and tranquil.
Crazy restaurant
Just back from 5 nights. When we booked we were unaware the restaurant o grill was closed so we had breakfast in the hotel which was like a cattle mart. Children running crazy and food running out and not being replaced quick enough. The manageress informed my husband one morning it was the new hotel policy to seat families first if he wouldn't mind having a seat!!!
Great resort!
We spent 7 nights at the resort , our suite was immaculate and great position over looking the golf course. The only 2 concerns are the price of the restaurants which are expensive and no swimming pools are heated . We would go back to the resort again .
Excellent quality
The hotel facilities are excellent and well looked after. We stayed in the self catering residences which had two bedrooms, one with en-suite, a separate bathroom, lounge area and well equipped kitchen. There was a balcony the length of the apartment looking out over the gardens and pool. The resort has a golf course and driving range, tennis courts, 3 swimming pools and access to the beach. It is a large resort so be prepared to walk!
A great family friendly hotel in a lovely location. Highly recommended.
Great facilities for a family holiday reasonably well maintained. Only negative side I can think of is food is quite expensive in the restaurants in the resort.
Pine Cliffs is February - great choice!
Visited Pine Cliffs many times over the last ten years, first time in February. First of all the weather was great, 17-19c everyday which makes a difference to any experience. Stayed in two bedroom Residence apartment, facilities are excellent, everything you need is there... comfy beds, very peaceful location overlooking golf course and a stroll from main hotel. Good food, a wonderful spa, great play area for children (Porto Pirata), tennis and golf, lovely beach area and very well cared for grounds. We booked golf lessons and tennis coaching for our son - the staff were superb, generous with their time and genuinely helpful with their coaching. Not every restaurant at the resort was open, but there was still a good choice of places to eat - and there are also some great options to eat in the villages surrounding Pine Cliffs. This is an excellent resort - perfect for families and a great option for a winter break as well as a more conventional summer getaway. It deserves its reputation as the Algarve's best family resort!!
Beautiful resort
Had a wonderful time and the staff was very friendly. Amenities are suberb
Another perfect stay
Our 2nd visit to Pine cliffs, first was in 2014, a lot has changed with some additions to the resort, but the same amazing service remains. The recpetion staff were so helpful, as were the restaurants in catering to our dietry requirements. A lovely short break that's was just perfect!
Great place!
A beautiful resort with spectacular views. Very large site. Originally had reservations in the resort but switched to hotel as it was MUCH closer to the beach. Suggest you stay in either the hotel or the suites to avoid a car or shuttle ride. Food was really good too. Make sure to get breakfast included as at 25€ it is costly. Overall a great stay in a beautiful place, would go back in a second.
Beautiful location with excellent facilities.
Very beautiful accommodation and excellent service. Facilities were first class . We stayed in the residences and loved the comfort, size and cleanliness. Food was very good and a bit pricey but that was to be expected given the resort. Would definitely visit again.
Luxurious resort
We stayed for 2 nights on business in a suite. It was December so very little was open, couldn't even get a beer in the bar around 7pm!! Having said that, even though the hotel was completely dead, the staff couldn't do enough for us. I can imagine that during busier times, this is a beautiful and bustling resort.
Pine Cliff Residences
Given the fame of the resort and the price for a two bedroom suite, the service was most disappointing - more akin to a three star hotel - beginning with the bell hop completely inattentive, then a housekeeping that did not clean the room until after I complained at 5PM, to the room services which took over 45 minutes to deliver, to the maitre d' at the Yakuza restaurant (clueless), and finally to a most uncourteous reception that called at 11:30 AM asking when we will vacate the room as housekeeping had to get it ready for the next guest. Really???!!! I think the place needs to hire Anthony Melchiorri from Hotel Impossible to whip up the management and open their eyes to what is happening under their noses and to instill a culture of service and attentiveness to the staff. Overall I rate it 2 out of 5. JK
Fantastic resort but
Fantastic resort but they charge excessively every. Example, we don,t mind paying to use the facilities but 40 euros for 1 hour on the tennis court toooo much I would expect to pay for the driving range as it costs to maintain but to charge to use the clubs as well ridicules 40 euros for buffet dinner tooo much 10 euros per day for wifi ridicules But if you can eat out of the resort for half the price Relax by the pool and use the safe beach for free Apart from the above we absolutely loved the resort and staff
Serene and immaculate golf resort
No complaints about the hotel whatsoever. But Expedia really let us down. My daughter and i were looking v forward to a treat with lots of activities for children. We booked thinking there is a swimming pool and games room in the main hotel and a kids club too. When we arrived we were informed that the hotel was closed for redevelopment and the children's club not running. Expedia did not mention this. Shameful. We stayed in the residence apartments which are wonderful. One restaurant was open.
5* hotel and facilities
Second time here. V good. Will definitely come back. Minor points: Would have liked a close horse in the apartment. Shame the Deli wasn't open, although you could order. Had a poor meal at Piri Piri for the money and do not like the covers being put on the table it bout asking.

Very friendly staff, we were made to feel instantly at home. Where we had issues with our room these were attended to straightaway. Grounds are beautiful and the walk around the resort was a pleasure. The beach is fantastic and picturesque.
