I liked the view or the hot air balloon in the morning. There are several things that I disappointed me: 1. Location: small town far away from the touristic area. You must have a car to move around. 2. The hotel was very basic. There wasn’t any amenities or services. 3. The room had an awful smell. It smelt like sewage and it was so strong we had to sleep with the door open to let in some fresh air. 4. The towels were old and had holes. 5. The breakfast was very basic and the lady serving was incredibly rude to me and my family. Overall would not recommend for foreigners as the staff doesn’t know english and refuses to help to make our experience satisfying.

The only think I like about this property was the view, everything else wasn’t good especially the room it has a mold smell we couldn’t sleep all night the bed cover felt wet from the mold so we had to switch rooms and that also limited. It’s hard to park, and the breakfast was included it wasn’t really good.

AMAZING views of the morning balloons from the terraces! Room was clean and tidy and the staff were incredibly helpful with organising tours, transport as well as recommendations for food! Will definitely stay again when I visit

I absolutely loved the stay at Phocas. Even if they don’t speak English well they manage to help you out in very possible way. The staff is so caring and welcoming to all tourists. I would must must must recommend to stay here due to its prime location and the property itself and the staff and service is just gold served in a plate

Fantastic property with a great view of balloons in the morning and the sunset in the evening. The walk up to the hotel from the main road is a little steep, but worth it. All the staff were very attentive and helpful. Parking is a bit of a challenge, however the staff work with neighbouring properties to coordinate getting in and out quickly and easily. Several great restaurants in the immediate vicinity, and a short walk to Çavusin Castle or nearby valleys with fairy chimneys.

The view from the room is amazing

Everything was oke, just don't forget anything in the room, because once your realize it and call to asked for it, they never fund it. It happens quite often in Turkey Which is a shame. .

Kindness of all staff. The boy at the reception was a grade of 10. Very jovial. He recommended us the places to visit and which we ticked after the recommendations so that we didn't waste time looking for the objectives in the area. Superlative cleanliness !!! A story location that I will highly recommend.

Disappointing stay

After searching for hotels on internet I found this hotel based on the reviews. Booked this hotel for 2 nights with family. They provided a room in basement without air conditioning or fan. Couldn’t sleep the whole night, it was warm. Next morning they changed it to smaller room, was comfortable. The guy at reception was rude. If traveling with family DONOT book this hotel.

This was by far our best stay in Turkey. The people were amazing and the cave was awesome. The history in Cappadocia is so beautiful. Highly recommended.

Room was spacious and clean. The staff were the real heroes here - we could not find any company that would get us a hot air balloon ride, on the internet or by calling companies. The staff at the hotel managed to get us on a balloon flight on short notice, even without us paying in advance. Great advice for the local area and otherwise just great interaction with them. Highly recommend Phocas based on the staff alone!

I loved the location of this property, it is just outside of Göreme, a quick 5 minute bus ride away. It has all the amenities needed without tones of tourists which was exactly what I was looking for. At sunrise we did our own hike up through the caves to red valley to watch the balloons take off. It was an amazing experience to see them up so close then at a distance !! Highly recommend this hotel ! The staff was very friendly and the breakfast was great!

Nice rooms, limited amenities

Nice hotel with quaint rooms. Lovely view. Would not recommend staying here without booking a car as there is nothing in walking distance and I’m not sure about the cab situation. The rooms are nice but as they are built into the cave, expect a bit of a musty/damp smell. Don’t think it’s a reflection of poor cleanliness, simply a reality of the location. Make sure you make alternative plans for breakfast. It’s a nice view for coffee/team but the food selection is not great.

First of all thank you Phocas Cave Suites for an amazing experience. Gonna write a long review :) Stayed at the property for 2 days in the month of September 2019. Firstly, the property in itself is very beautiful & comfy. And at an amazing location. The rooms were well maintained, spacious &, quite beautiful, offering us the authentic cave experience. Secondly, the breakfast spread was good enough & healthy as well. What really touched us was, the way the owners went out of their way to make us comfortable & always welcomed us with a warm smile. Since we are vegetarians, they specially did go get us egg free bread for us & made sure we liked it :) Besides, more than everything, it's the service & the respect they offered us which made us really happy & make us miss Cappadocia even more. Perfect for everything!!!

The room was amazing and so beautiful. A bit humid but it's fine for me. The view was incredible!!! We could see hot air balloons flying above and around us!!!!! The hotel's location is perfect. You can go up to the mountain in the morning and see many balloons flying just like the pictures you can always see in the internet. You can also see the sunset there or the cave just right beside the hotel which u can find the perfect spot for sunset. You can book all the tours and reserve shuttle bus just in the hotel!! Super convenient!!! Free breakfast!!! Restaurants around the hotel. The staff are extremely nice!!!!! They even gave us a gift when we left!!!! They were being very helpful to our trip in Cappadocia!!!

Comfort, service and sights

The hotel is in a great location, particularly if you have your own transportation. The cave rooms were spacious and comfortable. Seeing the balloons early in the morning was a special treat. Breakfast was simple but tasty. The staff were incredibly attentive and accommodating.

Fabulous little place in Cavusin (approx 3 km from Goreme). Bekir and Serkan are among the most hospitable hosts I have com across. From arranging a hot air balloon ride in peak tourist season when availability was next to nil, to helping with local transportation and food, they took care of it all. The cave suites themselves are amazing with a fantastic view of the landscape. Walking distance from Rose/Red valleys.

Heated stone floor. Spacious bathroom. Good bed. Good breakfast. This property is on a steep hill so you need to be fit. Parking can be a challenge too.

We recently stayed at this wonderful hotel for 4 nights and had an amazing experience. The hotel manager Bekir took excellent care of us. The first night he brought us complementary glasses of wine while we sat on out balcony (which had an amazing few of the sunset). He also recommended restaurants in the immediate area. (The owner of the restaurant pickup us up and dropped us off each night right from hotel.) The recommendation was wonderful as we chose to eat in this same restaurant each night for authentic Cappadocian cuisine. The manager helped us to confirm all of our travel plans. We plan to bring our adult children soon and hope to stay at this excellent hotel again. Each room is unique and there are only 12 rooms.

The hotel is beautiful and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The location is only a few miles from the main tourist area of Goreme, but was very quiet with a great view. A couple restaurants near by were very good.(walking distance). Rooms were comfortable and interesting as they are true Cave rooms.

Hotel staff were really friendly. Located quite town next to Göreme. Room we had was cafe room which felt Lunt humid in the room. Because of it is cave room, in the bathroom we had little bit leaking and bathroom floor didn’t have heating which makes bathroom bit cold during winter times. One of the best hotel!

Definitely worth to book this hotel again! The location and the view of the hotel is amazing, it is just in the heart of capadocia. The room and the hotel exactly looks like the images from web. The room is very authentic and has character! The hosts are very kind and friendly. When we arrived, we were late due to car rental problem, but the host was very patient, and waited for us until very late. The room was very clean and tidy, very warm. The breakfast was prepared by a nice lady. Because we planed to explore capadocia by ourself, the hostess was very kindly to show us the detailed travel routes, add pins on the google map. It was very very very helpful for our trip, couldn't image we could explore all the places without her help. I would say, this hotel is much much better than any hotel we stayed in the UK, the nice place and friendly hosts. If I go to Capadoica again, definitely will book it again.

The hotel and staff are absolutely lovely, friendly helpful and very peaceful surroundings. The room was very clean, we stayed in the King Suite, beautiful and definitely worth the money highly recommended.

Beyond our expectations

Everything about our stay was the absolute best. The staff took us in like family, breakfasts were the best (not my first time in Cappadocia), and the location (just outside of Goreme) gave us a "back to nature" experience with breathtaking, panoramic views while right next door to all that Goreme has to offer. I will only stay at Phocas Cave Suites in the future as my friends visit me in Turkey!

Excellent hotel. I stayed with my wife for two nights only. Room was large and clean. Bed was comfortable. Bathroom also large practical and lovely country style. Breakfast very tasty and plentiful with home made original stuff. Personnel was truly friendly and gave solutions to all problems we faced. Absolutely hospitable! The nearby restaurant they recommended for dinner was fantastic. Staying in a cave home is a unique experience! The earthly materials filter the air and give you a sense of well being and happiness. Excellent natural insulation. The only negative about the room was the glass above the entrance door, that would allow the day light, wake you up a little earlier. Overall my stay exceeded my expectations. If you want to experience the natural friendliness and desire to serve (rather help) of the Anatolian people, I strongly recommend you focas hotel!

An unforgettable experience!

An exquisite place, perfectly clean, fancy, with a meticulous attention to details. The terrace has a wonderful view over the historical village of Cavusin and offers an ideal viewpoint for those who want to enjoy the sun setting down over the Cappadocian magical landscape, while tasting a genuinely homemade turkish coffee. Breakfast buffet was delicious and varied. But most of all, what is really memorable is the amazing human experience with people available and happy to assist with every single query. Beautifully nestled in the caves ...

Phocas Cave Suites is an excellent hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. The rooms are set in the caves and very tastefully decorated and in a quiet area. The open air terraces with a fabulous view was delightful at all times of the day, especially during sunrise and sunset. A very filling breakfast was served out on the terraces for the 2 nights that we stayed there (July 24 and 25, 2016). Lutfiye and her team went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. I would definitely recommend Phocas Cave Suites to anyone visiting Capadoccia.

Perfect hotel to stay in Cappadocia!

This hotel is the perfect place to stay in Cappadocia. The location is excellent, as well as the staff which was great! Cave hotel on the hill side with nice view

My wife and I stayed here for one night. We really enjoyed our stay. The room was clean and decorated well. The view is nice overlooking the town and the ancient ruins. The staff is extremely nice, polite and sincere. They worked hard to make customers happy. Ask about their hot air balloon trips as well. I would stay again and recommend to my friends without hesitation.

Nice hotel with super friendly staff

One of the best hotel experiences I've had in a long time. This cave hotel is located in Cavushin, which is about a 10-minute drive into Goreme. Check-in was very easy as they were waiting for us. It was a bit cold in the room, so we asked for and received a portable heater (as it's a cave, the room has no central heating or cooling). Phocas Cave Suites only has about 10 suites so the service is quite personal. Every morning we walked out of our room to have breakfast, we were greeted. Breakfast was a mixture of bread, cheeses, olives, cold cuts, veggies, omelettes, gozleme, and coffee/tea that was brought out to our table (not a buffet). The staff at Phocas went above and beyond. One night, they drove us to a local restaurant they suggested for dinner. On another occasion, they drove us to Goreme and gave lunch recommendations. And on my birthday, they gave me a very tasty chocolate cake! We brought our own bottle of wine and wanted to enjoy it in the lounge area. It was closed at the time, but they opened it for us and even gave us cheese, cold cuts, and olives to have with the wine. These are examples of the kind and considerate service we received while staying at Phocas. Overall, we wholeheartedly recommend staying at Phocas. They will make sure you enjoy your stay.

Highly recommend staying here

Phocas Caves was the best hotel we've ever stayed at. The cave room was fantastic with a fabulous view. The staff went above and beyond. Shortly before arriving Lütfiye, the manager, organised for us to be picked up from the bus stop by the very friendly Sonner. Even though we arrived early in the morning we were able to check in early and were offered an AMAZING Turkish breakfast with a fabulous omlette. All front office staff were extremely helpful in organising things to do and recommend delicious good restaurants in the area. Thank you to all the staff who made this stay so special.

Amazingly helpful staff!

We really enjoyed our stay at Phocas Cave Suites! In particular the staff there could not do enough for us. We were there for our honeymoon and on arrival they had arranged tea lights in a romantic heart shape. They also helped us arrange airport transfers, balloon flights and ATV tours and even had a driver to take us into town when necessary. The first room we had was beautiful with a private balcony overlooking the glorious landscape. We had a comfortable first night there but the room was a little warm being one of the ones at the top. There was also some drilling during late morning when we were trying to rest after an early start for the balloon flight but it was no problem to give us another room immediately. This one was a cave room and stayed remarkably cool at all times. The breakfast was superb and they also have a beautiful wine cellar where you can relax and enjoy some Turkish wines. I would recommend this hotel if you want a little bit more quiet away from the hustle of Goreme but still have all the region's activities easily accessible.

Fantastic stay!

Clean hotel, reasonably priced, excellent location, and amazing staff. The hotel is in a perfect location away from busy tourist areas but only a short bus/taxi ride from other towns. The hotel backs onto a hill where you can walk up and get a great view of the area as well as the hundreds of hot air balloons flying over in the morning. Staff at the hotel are very accommodating and helpful. There are a couple of great restaurants within walking distance, one being Seyyah Han with some great local dishes. We would highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay here again on our next trip!

A real gem

I travel a lot and spend more than 100 nights per year in hotels but never write reviews until now that I stayed at Phocas Cave Hotel. This hotel is wonderful - a real gem. It is conveniently located in the heart of Cappadocia, (although may not be easily accessed by public transport, if such even exist - I don't know). The facilities are top not and tastefully decorated. Everything in this hotel is of top quality, from the architecture design to the thick towels, the brass faucets, and even utensils in their dining area. Breakfast was included and had ample selection of wonderful foods, both fresh and cooked. The view from this hotel is also wonderful and can be seen from any room or the terrace that is adjoining the rooms. More than anything, I was amazed at the hospitality and personable and attentive service by the frendliest staff you will ever meet. From the check in to the breakfast to the room service, we received top notch attention. I should also mention the great touring advice we received. After we left, not realizing we departed, Ms Lutfiye called me to my foreign number to apologize for not getting a chance to say goodbye. Where else does one get such attention, especially after only two nights stay? I will not share the price we paid but can say it's a complete bargain for this level of facilities and service. I cannot say enough to recommend this wonderful hotel.

Great hotel for a quiet retreat

Incredibly helpful staff

This hotel is brand new and so everything was in top condition. The rooms were unique and nicely furnished. Breakfast included a nice array in the standard Turkish style. The hotel is a bit out of town and does not have many rooms, so if you want to get away from large crowds and chain hotels this is a great option. The staff was what really set this hotel apart- they were incredibly helpful in arranging our shuttles to and from the airport, and even driving us around for some sight seeing. Thank you to Lutfiye for being incredibly friendly and even introducing us to your family. I have never had that kind of experience at a hotel before, Turkish hospitality is truly impressive.

Unique experience, and exceptional staff!

Phocas was a great hotel. The staff were incredibly helpful, efficient, and made great recommendations. We really appreciated how they were able to set up special visits to ideal places to view the sunset, and work with our schedules to find tours that were just right. Great breakfast, and incredibly relaxing experience. While immediate area only has two restaurants, there are a great number just 10 mins. down the road--but we enjoyed having a little separation and ability to be close, but at the same time get away. Highly recommended.

The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The hotel is close to lots of stuff. We had a early check out so the staff prepared very early breakfast for our convinient. Lutfiyeh, osman, & sooner were the best.

Amazing Stay at Phocas Cave

I would strongly recommend Phocas Cave to anyone, I'm sure it won't disappoint you. We stayed at the Arch Cave Suites room, the hotel room looks exactly as advertised on their website, very clean and unique. Breakfast is complimentary and is delicious, there is a wide variety of food selection and you can choose to eat at your balcony or in their "cave restaurant", which is a beautiful cave. Service is exceptional. Lutfiye and Soner, both concierge made sure we enjoyed our stay to their best effort. They kindly asked what time we would want to have our breakfast after our exhausting morning hike. They provided us with information about the area and even provided us car rides to some places when they were not busy. Soner reached out to us and contacted the airport shuttle when the shuttle was only 5 minutes late, he even provided us a free Turkish coffee while we were waiting for the shuttle. The location is a bit far away from Goreme, it is around 2km and a 30 mins walk to Goreme. This would not be a problem if you have a car, or you can easily arrange a taxi from Goreme back to the hotel for around 15-20 Lira and it takes around 5-10 minutes only. All in all, any rating lower than a 5 would not serve it justice. I hope you have the same great experience as I did!

Lutfiye had been extremely accommodating throughout my entire stay. She had gone out of her way to ensure that I was able to complete a full day of sightseeing while still being able to catch my return bus. She also picked up my ticket! Very good service. I would recommend the Phocas cave suites for it's great service.

良いところは、朝の気球が観れます。 ご飯は十分美味しいです。 周辺のお店が少ない。 観光地周辺なら近いし、時間の無駄は無いかと思う。 部屋は洞窟内なので、明るさは少し暗いですが、ベッド、シャワー、ジャグジーはとても綺麗。

Aslinda cok güzel gibi görünen ama konakladikdan sonra farkina vardigim bir kac noktaya deyinmek istiyorum. Öncelikle otel terkedilmis ama yinede sevilen bi otel hissi aldim. Asiri bakimsiz kahvaltisi cok basit siradan kahvaltiydi yani bi wow diyecegim birsey bulamadim. Alt kat‘da oturma yerleri var ama minder koyulmamis, koltuklar ortada birakilmis. Verdigimiz ücret icin daha fazla bekletimiz vardi.

La chambre troglodyte est très jolie originale et fidèle aux photos mais c est très très humide et le plafond en roche s effrite ce qui tombe au sol et dans les draps. Le ménage est fait tout les 2 jours sauf si vous demandez tout les jours. Le jacuzzi sur les photos n est plus fonctionnel depuis 2018.

Çok memnun kaldık

Otelin konumu çok güzel, gezilecek merkezlere araçla kısa sürede ulaşmak mümkün, sakinliği ve doğası çok güzel, hemen terasından balonları izleyecebileceğiniz güzel bir manzara var. Otel personeli oldukça güleryüzlü, samimi, her konuda yardımcı olmaya çalışıyorlar. Genel olarak konaklamamızdan memnun kaldık, tekrar aynı yere gitsek aynı otelde konaklarız. Sadece altta katta bulunan mağara odada kaldığımız için nem bize fazla geldi.

Cavusin icinde cok tatli bir otel

Calisanlar cok nazik ve yardimciydi. Kahvaltilari kesinlikle bekledigimden cok daha iyidi. Bufede normal kahvalti turleri (peynir cesitleri, receller, bal, domates, salatalik) ve daha fazlasi vardi. Arti kahvalti yanina yumurta, omlet, gozleme vardi. Cavusin icinde cok guzel bir otel.

Otel çok temizdi. Çalışanlar çok sıcak kanlı, Güler yüzlü ve ilgililerdi. Sadece otel değil otel dışı etkinliklerimizde de çok yardımcı oldular. Çok kibar bir ekip. Otelin yeri de Göreme ve Ürgüp’e çok yakın. Çok memnun kaldık. Tavsiye ediyorum .

Balkon ve oda gayet iyiydi. Gün batımı icin tercih edilebilir. Çalışanlar yardımcı ve guler yüzlü idi.

Pochas cave suites ister çocuklu ister çift olarak gönül rahatlığıyla gidebileceğiniz bir otel. Çalışanlar güler yüzlü, yardımsever ve çok kibarlar. Odalar tertemiz, kahvaltı muhteşem. Kısacası gözünüz kapalı gidebileceğiniz bir otel.

Konaklamamız çok keyifli geçti, Murat Bey de Sezer Bey de çok içten ve hoşsohbet kişiler :) Etkinlikler konusunda da çok yardımcı oldular. Yazın daha uzun bir Kapadokya gezisi için yeniden gelmeyi düşünüyoruz

Her sey cok guzeldi, herkes guleryuzlu ve ilgili. Guzel bir tatil gecirmemiz icin her seyi yaptilar. cok tesekkur ediyoruz.

Otel çalışanları çok ilgili ve güler yüzlüydü. Odamız temiz ve rahattı. Günbatımı manzarası vardı. Kahvaltıları harika! Peynir ve reçel çeşitliliği çok iyiydi. Check out sırasındaki küçük süprizleri de çok ince düşünülmüştü ☺️

Berbat bi ortamdi.verilen oda kuf kokuyordu ve pislik icindeydi..guya cocuk havuzu var ama suyu camur gibiydi...anlatilacak gibi degil

Omletten,gözlemeye her şey vardı.
