Beautiful place with amazing staff

We spent six nights at Phi Phi Relax resort. We were a bit unlucky with the weather most of the days, with rain, strong winds and lots of clouds, which we were told was very unusual. I also had a very bad stomach for one and a half day, but the staff was so nice and helpful, both to my husband, who had to eat his meals alone, and to me bringing medicine and rice soup and being very caring Thank you, Laura, and all the rest of you. Be aware, that when you arrive on the longtail boat, you will get wet, when you get off, as there is no pier. So shorts are recommended. Also, it is good to bring some bathing shoes, as there are quite a few rocks in the water. When the water is clear, you will see them (and a lot of fish), but on windy days, bathing shoes are nice to have. The beach is beautiful, and as you can only get to this resort by boat or about one hours walk, it is very quiet and nice. We had a very nice bungalow right on the beach, with a wonderful terrasse, where we could sit/lie and read on rainy days. The resort really lives up to its name - it is a great place for relaxation. But the best thing about this place is the fantastic staff! They made us feel at home, had a good sense of humor, and were always very helpful.

This has a huge WOW factor

This was our first visit to Thailand, so after visiting cities, this resort certainly lived up to its name. A longtail boat transfer from the pier, took us to this magnificent resort. It had so much wow factor, felt like a dream come true. The beach was so clean, the water so clear and warm, the views, the accommodation, the selection of food and the staff all contributed toward a magnificent 4 nights we shall never forget. We took the trek to the viewpoint too, from the resort. I don't want to spoil the surprise, but it is totally worth the hike. We continued the hike back to the pier area where there is lots of hussle and bussle with a great vibe, but personally we loved heading back to our resort to totally relax. Was a great experience, one we would love others to share, hence this review.

This was an amazing property on the other side of Koh Phi Phi. You had to take a long tail to get over to the resort which means that it wasn’t in the middle of all the madness. It was a more private secluded beach, but you could still longtail over to the pier and have fun on Phi Phi if you wanted to and then get back to your own little resort that wasn’t surrounded by 1000 people screaming and partying really enjoyed it beautiful little bungalows to sleep in great food at the main area. My wife and I loved it.

Filthy room, bad property, theif at front desk

The room was awful, mosquitos inside. Got bit immediately after getting into the room and showering. We were there for 30 mins and the power/ a/c shut off twice. We left immediately and went somewhere else, but the property kept my money. Do yourself a favor, DO NOT STAY HERE. You also have to hike up uneven concrete stairs to get to your room. The grounds are run down and over grown with lots of bugs. Shady place, shady owners. If you try to leave early and show your bites, the thief at the front desk will steal your money and call you a liar. Pay a little extra and stay at a nicer place. 2 star "resort" for a reason.

Great staff, lovely!.except the “ tourist guide “ that explains the morning routines of your fault full day tour. The facility it should not n be qualified as resort but a hotel. Property needs a lot of improvement, on the exterior and on the interior of the rooms. And they need to put “ No swimming signs” on areas where they know is dangerous for us tourists. I did swim next to the are and got stuck in a bunch of sea urchins and I was bad for 2 nights 3 days, once I got back to the city I had to go to hospital, doctor said , spines should be removed immediately but staff just put oil on it. Please be careful.

I recommend this resort only if you do not plan on going anywhere else in Phi Phi, otherwise it is super inconvenient. I did not realize the boat that takes you to the resort only goes until 5:30PM, so we didn’t get to see Phi Phi at night. The only things to do in the resort are eat and drink. You cannot really get into the water because the shoreline is extremely rocky and you will be stepping on jagged rock as you're in the water. There’s also a ton of sea urchin. The people of Thailand are extremely friendly, but the staff here seemed to be different. They were not very helpful when we had a few questions and they just seemed inconvenienced by tourists on the resort. While it had beautiful views, I would have chosen a different place to stay if I knew what I know now.

Try someplace else!!!!!

The location is very remote. It is hard to get back and forth from the resort to Phi Phi. It would be fine to hang out at the resort and relax but the people who run the hotel are just very rude and unaccommodating. We traveled throughout Thailand and never ran into any place that made you feel like you were totally disrupting their island.

Transportation cost $150 thb each way to and from ferry pier with cost increasing up to $300 thb if later than 3pm local time. Ride from main tonsai pier was about 26 minutes boat ride without considering time to wait for luggages being loaded onto the boat. Expect to get wet because you will have to enter and exit boat from knee to waist high ocean water depending on the tide. Limited availability for transportation to main town area. Lots of mosquitos and no air conditioner in all 4 beach front bungalows we booked. Random electrical blackouts, occurring at least 3 times daily. Water pressure is extremely weak, similar to less than the flow of a toilet being filled up. Had many conditions regarding towels, beddings, etc., such as extra charge for cleaning if sheets and towels were extremely dirty. Pricing for food was good, such as $500 thb for a whole fried fish. Check in reception person was like a manager/sales person. Pushed speedboat and excursions/tours sales even during checkin time. Were treated as not important guests once you don't book tours or agreed to buy dinner on the beach package with reception/sales manager.

Very small room to be a bungalow. Balcony sea-view completely blocked by a giant tree. You can’t sit at balcony due to mosquitoes. No proper pressure in the shower. Small sized bed for a 6ft1in guy like me and on top of that no AC in the room. Very good and helpful staff. Restaurant is decently priced given the location of the property.

The property was very unclean in the rooms. By this I mean the bedsheets and mosquito net were moldy and made you physically ill sleeping in them not to mention the smell. There is no Ac only fans. The boat cost you every single time for each person 150 baht and isn’t included in the already overpriced place for what it is. No breakfast included either. We spent wayyy too much money here to be forced to take transportation off the plot to do anything. Food was very good is the only positive and staff are friendly.

We loved everything about this property! It was beautiful, peaceful great variety of food at the restaurant. The staff were all amazing. If I had to pick something to complain about it which isn’t really even a huge complaint lol would be to have a screen option for the window in our hut so that we could open it to get more of a breeze at night without any bugs getting in. Although warm at night the fans did do the trick. Loved our stay here!

We loved Phi Phi Relax Beach Resort. It is hidden from all the hustle of Phi Phi which I prefer. The food in the restaurant is amazing the best I had so far in Thailand, also the best snorkeling right in the front of the resort. The bungalow is great, everything that you might need. Fan, bottled waters, shampoo, towels, beautiful relaxing deck, beautiful views, clean rooms every day, mosquito net and fan. The prices in the restaurant are reasonable, same with the tours. Everything is nicely arranged by the staff, plus they are all nice and welcoming. You can eat and drink the water they offer, they use bottled water and and washing all the veggies from the bottled water. They keep you nice and safe.

It’s a no for me

We got beach front bungalow I would say the bungalow was super cool but everything else about this place sucked. The food was gross. The service was bad. There is literally nothing to So but lay on their beach you can’t walk or go anywhere … and this beach was probably one of the ugliest beaches I was on in the phi phi islands… not to mention the only way in and out is by boat and they make you pay for it and you better hope the water isn’t choppy because the guys carry your bags to the boat and they dropped one bag and when we were getting on the boat the waves went over all my friends entire head and body I was lucky and for on the boat while the waves were just hitting my neck… I would never go here again for sure but for the pluses their drinks were really good and if they water wasn’t choppy there is a little island you could kyake too that is prettier and has good food but we just went there on a long tail boat instead the day before because the water was to choppy to do anything when we were there. And back to the negative they gave my food to the table next to us then she ate some of it realized it wasn’t hers then we saw them take it back mix it up and try to bring me the same plate of food … lol don’t waste your money go somewhere else on phi phi island.

This place is set in a beautiful & serene location away from the hustle and bustle of Tonsai. Enjoyed riding in the long tail boats to & from resort as well. Walked through “jungle” to get to the lookout which was a great workout. Only thing that would be better is the lighting in our bungalow which was so dark it was hard to do much inside as even in daylight it was dark. The staff is some of the best we’ve ever had (loved Mar one of our wonderful hostess’s) Would definitely recommend.

At first I was worried about not being able to walk to other restaurants, but my fears were soon allayed as the restaurant’s menu is varied and everything was delicious. Had the best time here! Some of the other reviews made me a little u easy but not to be worried. To the one review that said it cost 1000 baht to get to hotel, that was because it was a private boat. The hotel provides a long tail boat for transfer for 150 baht per person upon arrival to Phi Phi. You get for what you want at this resort, no tv, no fridge, just a private beach, beach cottage, amazing staff, etc. Bring bug spray!! I sure wish I did and left with LOTS of bug bites.

phi phi relax

We were not informed by ko lanta lodging properly about resort transfers in phi phi so not in best mood when first got to resort and had to pay for taxi boat. But it was in notes and reviews if i had read more closely. The food and service was very good there and good location if not want to be near the main pier. The manager was very genuine and sincere to guests as we met before leaving. To not mislead readers it is nice resort vut if hot water and haveing easy access back to main pier at tonsai bay is what you are eanting then suggest you find place near pier. But if want to get away from crowds for few days then try here.

The hotel is idyllic, it’s what you dream about. The most gorgeous location, clear water full of tropical fish, soft white sand. Unfortunately the only reasonable way to the main part of phi phi is by boat, which they charge even 150 baht for check in and out, the extortionate prices for general, worth it for the scenery though. Due to being a beach hotel there is no hot water which is not a problem in the hot environment but sleeping in the room at night is not easy. Overall a fantastic place.

I booked only 1 night with my partner here and I’m glad that was it because I couldn’t have lasted another day, honestly for what we paid it was not worth it. The view was amazing, since we did pay extra to get the highest room, but there were many bugs (I found a cockroach in the shower). Just a reminder there is NO air conditioning and only 1 fan is provided to keep you cool, as well as a bednet to avoid getting attacked by mosquitos at night. Not much is provided besides the basics and even 1 of our towels smelt bad. The wifi is VERY bad, we could barley get any connection the whole time we were there. I would say if you’re looking to stay somewhere nice and somewhat luxurious, this is definitely not the place for you. I would recommend being prepared to find your own entertainment since it’s located on the other side of the island (we had to take a boat to get to the resort) where there is nothing surrounding you and really nothing else to do except the beach that the resort is located on.

Remote and Relaxing

This resort feels very remote and was very quiet and relaxing. The only down side is you have to pay for a long tail boat any time you want to go to/from the main part of the island (unless you want to hike through the jungle and over the mountain, probably 45-60 minutes). However, this resort is only a 25-30 minute hike from an amazing viewpoint where you can see an amazing view of the island! Our bungalow felt fairly clean, except the bathroom smelled a little bit. There was only a fan in the room (no air conditioning), but we expected this before we arrived and stayed fairly cool. A mosquito net was in place above the bed to ward off any insects. We saw a snake one night and some bats flew around us on another occasion, but otherwise the wildlife didn’t bother us. The restaurant was pretty good and not too terribly expensive. We also enjoyed a few drinks from the beach bar! The kayak rentals were pretty cheap, and we also enjoyed some time on the quiet beach. Overall we loved our time at this unique resort, especially for the price we paid!

WORST hotel/resort I've stayed in. Horrible!

This is honestly and literally the WORST hotel/resort I've stayed in my life. There isn't any air-condition, any hot shower, cockroaches and mosquitoes in the room. The wifi don't work at all and the signal is so bad that my mobile data couldn't work. We checked in for 2 nights and as soon as we arrived, we tried to explain to the staff but they said they were very hostile and unreasonable. They said they don't care. We immediately left the next day. I've never had such a bad experience staying in a hotel. There is also literally nothing to do on the island, its so dead there. I'm now in the process of reaching out to hotels.com to seek a refund and if they don't, I'd would probably never use hotels.com again. Do NOT ever go to this hotel. You will regret it.

I’ll begin by saying that I understand the property lists that they do not have AC, but it was worse that I could have ever imagined. They provide a fan in the room, it is a stand up fan that is probably 15 years old and barely works even on the strongest setting. There are cracks and holes all over the bungalow, making it impossible to keep the room cool even if the fan were to work. There were two windows in the bungalow but no screens so you were unable to leave to open at night for an extra breeze. The bungalow just becomes a stuffy sauna. We met other families that were leaving days before their reservations were done due to how terrible to sleeping conditions are here. The no warm water is great, a cold shower is the only thing that feels good in that heat. The view from the bungalow though is breathtaking, if perhaps you go at a “cooler” time of year this could be a real gem. They have options to rent snorkel gear on site, which we took advantage of. With a short swim out you are able to see coral and beautiful fish. There is a restaurant on site where they serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner. All the food we tried at that restaurant was amazing, some of the best in Thailand that we tried. Note that to get to the property you take a 30 min boat ride to the resort from the pier, so plan to spend most of your time at the resort exploring unless booking excursions or getting a boat ride to the pier. Lastly, all the staff was quite rude. Other guests stated the same.

Great break to relax

Great place to visit for a few days to relax and take a break when travelling around Thailand. Staff are very friendly. The restaurant has excellent food both Thai and European. The bar closes around 22:30 so there’s is plenty of time to catch up on some beauty sleep. Waking up for the sunrise is a must

This was one of our most favourite spots in all of thailand. So clean, with the friendliest staff, an overall beautiful place to stay. Romantic sunrises on the beach and a coral reef not 100 meters off the shore to explore snorkeling. We will return to this hidden paradise 100%.

The location was ideal for a relaxed holiday. Sea was good for snorkelling and staff were very friendly and welcoming. Food was fantastic, which staff were keen to give advice. Our bungalow was set back from the beach but only a minutes walk. It was set up on the start of the forest which was on a hillside. Ideal for those seeking to see wildlife from the jungle! Only suggestion from a customers point of view was the intrusion on some occasions from the neighbouring beach by visitors arriving by speed boat coming onto our private beach and sitting on deck chairs which clearly had belongings on. Perhaps better monitored during busy times. Staff did their best when available. Would definitely recommend this resort. 😎😎

This hotel resort is great, the best feature is that it is on the beach and it is an exceptional beach. Although there is is no A/C in the bungalows, the hotel location and facilities it offers are exceptional. I would recommend taking advantage of the snorkelling on the long tail boat around Phi Phi island available from the hotel, it's awesome and some of the destinations are heavenly.

Phi phi relax wonderful place and beautiful staff!

We have now stayed in 5 different types of accommodation, from a beach hut pretty much on the beach with cold showers and mosquito nets, to 5 star Marriott and holiday inn accommodation in picturesque locations and 5 star hotel in the centre of Krabi. Without a doubt, the family agrees that phi phi relax beach resort, with the cold showers, open windows (no glass) and mosquitoe nets was by far the best accommodation and experience! The staff were wonderful and after 3 days of staying with them, feel like I will miss them very much! Even though I was desperate to wash my hair in warm warm water! The best experience with Mar and her team - wonderful place and beautiful staff! 💓

Boring if you're young

The place itself is nice as it's right on the beach. However you are about 20 mins away from the pier via long tail boat. That is the only way to access the resort so once you're there, there isn't much to do at the resort. There is a restaurant and bar but nothing else. So unless you're just looking to sit back relax and do very little, other than getting in the warm beach water, this isn't for you. We are a young couple that stayed there and got bored really fast and had no option to just sleep or drink at the bar. I feel like it's good for older couples.

Overall I feel like I was in a bait and switch situation. The way the "resort" is described on the Travelocity site and what I experienced when I arrived are very different. If the description on the website was closer to reality I would have not chosen this "resort". To start it clearly says that there is air conditioning, which there is NONE so that should be removed from the site entirely. There is no hot water, bigger than that you are actually using ocean water to shower and brush your teeth with which explains the water bottles they provide. No electricity until 6pm and due to wildlife you can't bring food to your room specifically there are monkeys. Wifi is very spotty if it works at all and the staff there barely spoke to us the entire time we were there, which was strange as they seemed friendly to everyone else. We were only staying one night so we were good sports and stuck it out but this was highly disappointing.

Hidden secret of Thailand

If your about luxury hot showers and WiFi please stop reading and find another place. If your about absolute relaxation, beautiful views beaches and just wanna disconnect from the world then this place is what your looking for. We stayed in a beach front bungalow for a week and can’t express how great of a time we had. Staff is amazing and the food was some of the best we had in Thailand. Please note it’s on the quite side of the island which is a good thing but you are limited to getting away and need a boat to take you to town unless you love to hike through the jungle. Love love love this place and hope to be back in the future!

Extremely dirty and worn out.

After reading all the reviews, we came with the expectation of no hot water, no electricity and generally rustic. However, the cabins need a serious upgrade! The beds are disgusting and the shower heads only point over the toilet in the bathrooms. Our group had three rooms and all of us were worrying about bed buds during the night. We were ready for rustic but not for the unhygienic conditions. I will say on a positive note that the restaurant had very good food at reasonable prices and the wait staff was very friendly.

The room was very, very basic and dark, with mosquito's everywhere. Breakfast and other food was passable, although not fantastic. Apart from a 1 hour hike through the jungle to get to the main shopping area of Phi Phi you had to venture out in long-tail boats for any activities. If you like it very rustic, stay here. Traumatic

OVERALL: We have to rely in hotel services only, and managment has poor skills. Besides that they are not able to deal with arouse situations ignoring customers requests. In addition poor Health and Safety. Arrival- We arrived at the pier 1pm, and we had to wait for the hotel boat up to 4pm. I have asked the staff if I could pay for my own boat taxi to the hotel, but they advised me to wait for the hotel boat. So we waited in the city up till 4pm with 4 children with us. In the Taxi boat arranged by the hotel, there was 19 people inside including staff (1) and 6 children. There were 14 life jacket in total(health and safety issue). As soon we arrived at the hotel, they informed us that we had to pay 150bth for each person ( 6 of us total 600bth- children under 8 no pay). I questioned, if I had to pay why I had to wait for the hotel boat instead of pay my own taxi boat and I could arrive there before with 4 children. The manager was looking far away and ignore what I was saying. Staff - most of them does not speak English and whoever does will pretend they do not understand such was managment in front desk. Staff from breakfast lack of motivation and seems to be not interested and you have to wait till when they feel like to come and serve you.Facilities- boat service is twice a day (8am and 12:30 pm) in case do you need to go to the city, you have to pay 800bht one way. You must be prepared to rely on the resort for everything. Still have a lot to say... but no space

Amazing property in paradise

Our stay at Phi Phi Relax was absolutely amazing. With that being said, I was not looking for a 5 star luxury resort experience. The only way to access the resort is via water taxi. You are likely to get wet on arrival and departure so plan your attire appropriately. The staff on arrival was amazing with assisting to load, unload, and transport luggage to your room. Check in was acceptable. The rooms were very well maintained and clean. You must me prepared for the fact that you will not have power during the day and will not have a/c at night (only a fan at night). The property overall was in great condition and well maintained. Our only complaint was the service at the restaurant. The food was very good and reasonably priced, but the main guy in charge of service did not have a good attitude and appeared disgruntled at all times. The other servers at the restaurant were friendly, but poorly trained in service.

Kohn Phi Phi was the highlight of my trip to Thailand, and PPRelax was an incredible beachfront getaway. I prefer the beach bungalows to those up on the hill, which require a very steep walk. The food was excellent and the staff were friendly. Great service. The electricity o's OFF between 8am- 6pm, but that's island life, and it didn't bother me a bit. It's paradise here!

Beautiful location, disappointing policy and staff

This location is beautiful, especially for those who are committed to seeing the Phi Phi islands and don't mind tourism. The benefit of this hotel is that it is off the beaten path and provides privacy while still allowing you to access the islands via hike or hotel boat ($5/pp 1-way). That said, if you are a person who doesn't travel much and doesn't mind overpaying for things, you might not mind this hotel. If you don't like being taken advantage of or treated poorly, this isn't your best option. Cleanliness: Our room was beautiful and comfortable (no AC and occasional bugs, but that is normal in this part of the world). Cleanliness was the big issue -- there were cockroach droppings all over our bathroom and sink upon arrival, and not once during our 4 day stay were they cleaned up. Additionally there was significant trash left on the beach and behind bungalows, none of which was collected. Staff: As mentioned above, trash on the beach was not regularly gathered and rooms not cleaned. The staff is rude, particularly if you ask for anything. We also encountered a bit of additional laziness - staff hiding behind bungalows watching YouTube videos for over 1 hour. Price: Adequate drinking water is not provided and there is no option to refill a water bottle. If you do not bring in your own water, expect to pay 3-4x normal Thai prices. Food is also 3-4x normal prices, so we hiked to town every day to eat. If you want to pay a fair price for anything, hike to town.

I've been to phi phi before but wasn't really impressed with the vibe of long beach area mainly because of loads of people and beaches being polluted by speedboats. So this time we booked phi phi relax beach resort because it's far away from all the rush and noise. Thankfully it didn't disappoint us! Vibe was awesome, beach has some dead corals but it's great for snorkeling and other activities, staff is extremely helpful, restaurant has awesome food, both western and traditional thai. Hotel is not what they say it is.

There is no hot water or A.C in the beach huts and the have western style prices for things that do cost half as much 30 min down the coast. It was over priced and we ended up leaving 3 days early because the sleeping conditions and lack of even a lukewarm shower were unbearable. Never going back stay at phi phi village which is 10 min up the coast it is way better or phi phi hotel.

Super relaxing!

We throughly enjoyed our stay at Relax. The bungalows were very charming; yes they were a little hot with only a fan but it was totally worth it (and we were able to sleep fine). The restaurant was nice enough - the prices were a bit more expensive than what we had been paying in Phuket but I think that is the case with anywhere in Phi Phi. We absolutely loved the location; it was so peaceful and relaxing being away from the main pier and other hotels/resorts. We didn't have any issues with the shuttle boat times as we were happy to stay and relax on the beach and explore the jungle behind the bungalows (where we saw lots of monkeys). Although, it would have been nice if they offered the first shuttle boat from the ferry to the resort for free. I would definitely recommend this place if you are after some quality relaxation time!

Very remote, no one speaks English

This resort is very remote, which is great if that is what you are looking for. You can only get to it by taxi boat (150 baht if the hotel provides the service and 1200 baht if you hire a taxi--only two boats per day leave the resort, one at 8 am and one at 12:30 pm--or a strenuous hike through a jungle path. Power is only on from 8 pm to 8 am, so if you need power during the day, you are SOL. The only internet they have is at the office and it is very slow. Only one guy who works there speaks any kind of halfway decent English; most of the employees know none. The beach and water are dirty, the coral is dead, and the showers are cold (and drain onto the beach). Overall, its not so much a resort as it is some bungalows on the water in a dead part of the island.

You are very isolated here away from any other restiarants, bars, resorts or points of interest so have to go to this expensive and underwhelming bar! They also do not state that the electricity goes off between 8am and 5pm meaning that you are without a fan, sockets to charge devices in or use of any electrical item. They also should not specify that they have wifi because they certainly dont! The shower is also freezing and there are cockroaches in bathroom because of the holes in the wall!
