The staff was amazing and accommodating. The rooms are spacious and beautifully designed. They already had robes, slippers and amenity kits in the room, so there was no need to ask for them. Overall, I will stay here again when I come to Lviv.

Perfect hotel for exploring Lviv

Had a wonderful stay the first time with my mum and returned for another stay with my partner. The hotel’s location is spot on for exploring the city. I love the simple and elegant decor, staff are always friendly and helpful, room temperature always spot on (no matter the weather). Breakfast in bed was delicious (takeaway packaging has its charm too). There is water cooler on each floor. Toiletries smelt amazing and were eco friendly. I can’t recommend a better hotel with such a perfect location and reasonable price. Will be staying again and again!

Vacation to Lviv. Great view of Rynok Square, best part of town. Everything is restored not with plastics but nice tile and wood.

Top Location, luxury rooms and a world class staff

The price, the quality, the level of service and the location of this hotel can't be beat. For that reason i decided to stay a second time this month. When i arrived to check in, Maria the receptionist greeted me by name and said "it's nice to see you again" her and all the staff made me feel so comfortable and welcomed. I had a small problem with the temperature in my room and the night receptionist ( i forgot her name ) immediately responded and without hesitation, she moved me to a different room. The cleaning ladies and construction workers were also very welcoming greeting me each time i walked by. I felt so at home at this place and i am so grateful for their hospitality. Furthermore, Lviv is an incredible city to experience. The people out here are so genuine and really take care of one another. Its one of the finest cities ive ever visited and i I highly recommend it. Slava Ukraini!

Receptionist spoke perfect English and was nice

This place is newly remodeled so the rooms smell brand new. The location was is right in the middle of all the action. My favorite part about this place was their staff. They spoke perfect English, they were super friendly and very helpful. I absolutely loved it here and i will be back again

Comfortable beds and pillows and great service from reception. There are only two rooms per floor, and so is generally quiet. Shower was hot, but could be hotter. Great location, it is in the centre!

Great location, shame about the building site!

Excellent position but we booked a courtyard room on the basis that it was quiet and arrived to find building materials stored in the entrance corridor and earplugs on the bedside units. The reason became apparent when, in the morning, we awoke to the racket of full scale building work. On opening the curtains we found scaffolding outside our room, a building site in the courtyard itself and a gutted wing of the courtyard opposite. The receptionist apologised when we complained but, to date, the management have offered no compensation. Such a shame because the hotel is in the perfect position.

It is in the exact center of the city. Only dislike is the walk up three flights of stairs. Also the actual one is at number 13. The photo shows the place I stayed at before, at address number 11. I thought I was getting the same place. Instead I had a much smaller place. The most famous restaurant landmark is next door at number 14. They put earplugs on nightstand. I guess someone whined before that there is noise from the street. I find such a complaint silly.

The location is excellent. We really enjoyed our stay here from the warm welcome, comfortable room and room facilities provided.

Nice hotel, excellent location

Fine hotel, very central, easy to take the Lviv walking tour, and even over to the famous cemetery. However, you had to order breakfast the day before, and since I only stayed one night and no one told me that, I did not get my breakfast. When you check in, you might want to set up your breakfast preferences at that time.

I am so glad my fiance and I chose to stay at On the Square Guesthouse. The location is absolutely perfect--right in the heart of Lviv. We could see excellent cafes and restaurants right from our window. The staff was so kind, helpful, and friendly, always telling us about events going on in the city that day and offering to order our taxi to the airport. Our room itself was very clean and comfy; the shower was large and had plenty of shelving. The hotel is very thoughtful: they provided a large water cooler right outside of our room, eliminating the need to buy our drinking water from stores. Our room also came with an electric kettle, mugs, coffee, and tea. I will say that it might have been nice to have a desk to sit at, but otherwise the room had everything we wanted. Additionally, it is true that we could overhear some of what was happening in the neighboring room, but it wasn't a problem for us. Overall, we would absolutely stay at On the Square Guesthouse again. It is charming and has everything you need for a fantastic visit to Lviv!

It's located in the square of Lyviv and close to almost anything. They have friendly staff and the hotel has an antique , cozy feeling. Only complaints is the non-existence of sound isolation. But for that good price, it's a negligible flaw :-)

You can’t beat the price for the value. It is right on the square so beware you may hear activity from below. But if that doesn’t bother you this is a great place to stay.

The room is very nice, spacious and comfortable. The bedding was excellent. The shower was pretty good. They have a drinking water tank in the hall way, and you can drink as much as you want. They have breakfast (not included in the hotel fee) delivery service to your room, which is great. The staff are very helpful. The only concern is: no elevator. But the staff helped with my suitcase. Overall, totally worth the cost. Great location as well.

Great central location and very helpful staff

The location, first, is great, right on the main square. Our room overlooked it and with double windows the evening revelry was blocked out. Had a good fan but no air con, so if you want window open and are a light sleeper might be best to request a quieter room. Room itself was comfortable, including large bed and high ceiling. Decent en-suite too. There aren't really other facilities but it is better to go out and sample Lviv's huge number of bars, cafes and restaurants. The staff were great and very helpful from the start. This included one of them chasing up the road after our taxi to the airport hadn't arrived, to make sure our driver and us then met up quickly. Very good service. Also speak very good English if that matters a lot to you. Good value given both the good and reliable service, and the great location.

Boutique Hotel In Market Square

Boutique hotel in the Rynok / Market Square centrally located and close to many attractions and restaurants. Rooms facing the front can be loud as they are next door to a popular pub where patrons stand outside and drink until wee hours of the morning. Rooms facing the back courtyard may be loud and/or smoky as neighbors of hotel smoke and speak loudly. Very helpful staff. Stairs leading up to 2nd and 3rd floor rooms should be fixed as they are hazardous.

Ok. Not stellar. Expected more for the price.

Expensive for what we got. Supposed to come with breakfast. Finally received that on our last day. Confusing check out and billing. Need to get more organized with that. Stellar location. Tiny room. Wanted two single beds.

Not a bad place to stay.

This is a good hotel. It is in a good area, has spacious rooms, good service, around the clock receptionist, and good sized rooms. My only complaint is there is no room phone, making it hard to make my connections with people in the city.

Excellent location, very convenient to the sightseeing places. Tram is just in front of the hotel!! So no hassle of carrying luggage.

Nice Guesthouse in Lviv

This is a nice little guesthouse right on the main square in Lviv. The location could not be better. The rooms are clean and the staff very helpful. The wifi was strong and reliable. We did have some issues with water being hot for showers. Overall, we would stay here again.

Enjoyable and interesting

This is a perfect place to stay and explore the downtown. You have to walk a few blocks to get to a taxi because the taxi is not allowed in the center. But that makes it even more enjoyable.

Very nice stay

The location was perfect, especially during Christmas time. The whole area was very festive. The staff was very extremely helpful. They even helped me with research on train and bus schedules to my next destination.

Excellent location

Just as the name implies, On the Square Guesthouse is located right on the main square in Lviv's Old Town. The location was perfect - if you select a room looking onto the square (rather than onto the rear courtyard), you'll have a great view of the Lviv Town Hall and all of the interesting things happening in the area (singers, performers, crowds, etc.). Despite the activity outside, I had no issues with noisiness at all. The hotel is also located very close to several tram lines, which makes it easy to reach other areas of the city as well. The room could include a few other amenities like extra sitting areas or a refrigerator (wasn't an issue for me as I visited in the winter) to be a bit more comfortable, but overall I was satisfied with my experience here.

Perfect Location and super friendly staff

Stayed with my mom for 2 days and it was superb. Staff was super friendly and helpful and the location is perfect. Might be a bit noisy as window faces the Square but if you are a strong sleeper - then it won't be a problem.

Perfect location

The gentleman picking me up at the airport was right on time, as planned. Check in was smooth. As for location, I liked the feeling of being right in the middle of everything. The staff was very helpful, especially a young man there, I think Stanislav, with whom I had some interesting conversations, plus he helped me with internet and Skype at another location.

Solid Place to Stay

Great place, really cute. Right on the square...just step outside, and your in the middle of all the action. The room is cozy, quiet, has big windows to let the sunshine in, and they provide nice amenities. The staff was very helpful with whatever you needed. I was really pleased with my stay. The only improvements I can think of is there is no air conditioning. It was exceptionally hot and humid outside during my visit to Lviv...being an American, we like our air conditioning. There is a fan in the room which did keep me comfortable when blowing directly on me though. Also, a fridge in the room would be nice. The hotel does have a community fridge where they stored some items I brought that needed to be in the fridge, but each time I wanted something, I had to walk down a flight of stairs to reception, then walk back up to my floor which is where the fridge was kept locked away. A mini fridge in the room would be better. The only other thing that may be of concern to folks with difficulty climbing stairs is that this is a walk up hotel...it's in an old building, which has been renovated very nicely, but there is no elevator. My room was on the 3rd floor...for me it's no problem, but for some people it could be a problem if you have difficulty walking up stairs. I left this place having a very good feeling and glad I chose to stay there.

Charming Boutique Hotel on Lviv's Rynok Square

When you arrive at this charming boutique hotel located on the Rynok Square you immediately feel welcome. The staff is welcoming and wonderful. Our room was located to the front of the Rynok Square on the 2nd floor. It was a spacious space with 20-foot ceilings and decorated in a modern fashion with IKEA furniture. They equip you with ear plugs (nights get noisy on the square), a night light, air freshener, water pitcher and glasses (with free water from a cooler in the hallway) and an electric kettle if you want tea in your room. The bathroom is modern with a hair dryer, although ours didn't function. I brought my own so this didn't matter to us. The hotel is situated on floor 2 and floor 3 with the reception on floor 2 with rooms to the front of the Rynok Square and the back. Although I enjoyed watching the activities from our window onto the Square, I think on our next stay I will choose a room toward the back courtyard. The front room was very noisy as there is a lively bar next door with patrons spilling onto the street. There was an option to pre-order a paid breakfast to be delivered to your room but we opted not to do this. With so many cafes in the area - there are plenty of breakfast places to choose from and each day we went to a different one. Will definitely return to this hotel.

A little gem in Lviv.

This hotel is an inexpensive and pleasant way to be in the heart of Lviv's vibrant city center. A lovingly restored set of rooms and an attentive staff make this a great bargain.

Perfect location and excellent value - recommended

Just as the name implies, On the Square guesthouse is literally right on Lviv's main historical city square - this hotel definitely had the most convenient and interesting location of any property that I've stayed in recently. The view from the room was perfect, as I could look out and see not only Lviv's impressive city hall (lit up at night), but also the various musicians and street performers who were entertaining people in the square below. Very cool for anyone who likes people-watching! The hotel staff was helpful and friendly, particularly in booking an early-morning taxi for me on the morning of my departure. The room was bright and spacious as well. Overall, I would definitely stay here again, and I certainly recommend this hotel - great value for the price and a perfect location.

Location and quality

Perfect location, if a bit noisy as it is right in the epicenter of everything. Very helpful and efficient stuff, clean, comfortable, accommodating rooms. I only wish we could stay longer.

Nice hotel in the heart of the city.

The Guesthouse is in a great location right at the heart of the city centre with cafes, bars and shops close by. The tram from the railway stops right outside. The rooms were very clean and tidy, the staff helpful. I would stay here again.

Love Latvia

Surprised at the entrance to the hotel but after climbing those stairs to reception - pleasantly satisfied by helpful & considerate receptionists who spoke excellent English. My en suite room on the front was fine & the price amazing.

Huge room, friendly staff, wonderful location. We took the marshuka from the train station down town but you can also take the street car. both bring you within blocks of the hotel.

Fantastic Hotel close to everything

This hotel is amazing. The staff is amazing, and extraordinarily helpful. Their shuttle from the airport is a really nice touch. It costs an extra 300 UAH, but the price is just added into your price for your room. It's close to all the best restaurants, sightseeing options, museums, cafe's, souvenir shops, and currency exchange places. Very clean. Awesome view from the window. I will without a doubt stay here if I ever come again to Lviv.

Wonderful Visit to Lviv, Ukraine

2 nights, 2 days in Lviv's lovely medieval district. We visited everything by foot and we're quite tired by the time we left but superly pleased with the entire visit. We ended our days across from the hotel at the Diana Open Coffee House on Rynok Square with hot and tasty mulled wine served by nice, attentive university students.

The hotel was a very ideal location but if you are not accustom to some noise in the square then this is probably not for you. Very unique experience and totally centrally located.

Centrally Located Old World Charm

On The Square Guesthouse is exactly where the name says. It's right on the main square in the center of Lviv! It's the perfect location to explore all that Lviv has to offer. The building has been recently renovated and my room looked brand new, yet still retained that old world charm with the old doors and original wood floors and windows. The WIFI is fast and reliable and the staff was very friendly and helpful. BUT there are no English TV channels. And the walls are kinda thin. You can hear people in other rooms quite easily, so if total privacy is what you desire, then this might not be the place for you. But otherwise I had a very enjoyable stay and will definitely stay there again on my next trip to Lviv.

Simple, clean room smack in the center of town

This is a perfect place for a backpacker or someone on a budget. The room I stayed in was large and clean, and the bed was perfect for a much needed nap between flights. Walking out the front door puts you in the middle of one of the city's main squares.

Great Place

The facility is located in the center of the old city, so it is not quickly accessible by taxi. The taxi will drop you off and you will have to walk for about 150 meters. The entrance was some what obscure, so do not let this make you hesitate. The guestrooms and reception are located on the second floor. We were lucky to be located right next to the reception area. The staff was very courteous and friendly. Everyone spoke excellent English, so that is a definite plus. They were very helpful and assisted us with all of our requests including directions and calling a taxi for our early morning departure. Maps were available in the lobby and staff was ready to give you directions and also direct you to the local restaurants. The room we had was huge. The bedroom was fantastic with a very nice view of the center of town. Our son slept on a sofa bed in the living room area and was very comfortable. We enjoyed our time at the guesthouse and were very happy. We did not hear that much noise except when the tram started to work and ran down the street outside the suites. But it did not bother us at all. We slept very well. It was centrally located to restaurants, museums and the historical churches in the center of town. The people in Lviv were friendly and nice and everyone was happy. This was a fantastic experience. But most of all, the food was delicious in the local restaurants and we did receive good service by Ukrainian standards. We went to the Opera House to attend a concert one night and it was about a 10 minute walk from the Guesthouse. As I mentioned before, the location was fantastic and we will definitely stay there again when we visit Lviv again.

Best location in Lviv with hipster flavor

If you like to be in the middle of everything in Lviv, this is the best location. Forget stuffy lobbies and chandeliers, this is the most cool hipster place I've ever stayed in. You roll out of bed to multiple choices of coffee and breakfast, beauty salon and an excursion agency, bakery and souvenir shops in the same building. Not to mention Kryiivka, a legendary theme restaurant in the same building. My favorite part of any trip to Lviv is Cukernya, which is just around the corner on Staroyevreyska Street. You can have breakfast, lunch and out of this world desserts there any time of the day. And, the open air cafe At Diana's right in front of the entrance to the hotel hosts latin dance parties every Saturday and Argentine tango nights every Sunday. You can just sit there and take in the atmosphere of this magical city. Enjoy!

On the Square if you like being in the centre!

On the Square is EXACTLY as noted and thus in the heart of Lviv. Our window looked out to the city hall and all the activity in the square. We loved being in the centre of things but it may not be to everyone's liking as it's not as quiet as some might like. I heard activity outside my window on the first night of our stay (loud voices) but nothing the 2nd night. (either i got used to it or the loud voices parked themselves somewhere else!) I would stay there again, for sure. Staff helped us book train reservations--printed our booking reservation--and were generally very welcoming and lovely to us.

Good value for the location.

Very good location in the heart of Lviv, close to many historic sites and good restaurants. Staff members were courteous and helpful. The room, though quite small, was clean; the bed was comfortable, and we appreciated access to the water bubbler. Light sleepers should be aware that the late night the activities of lodgers in the adjacent room can keep you awake at night. Overall, a very good value for the location.

Great location

This guesthouse had the perfect location overlooking Lviv's old market square. The only negative was a lack of sufficient storage for clothing and travel paraphernalia. However, the friendliness and helpfulness of staff more than made up for that. Recommended!

In the heart of tourist area

This is an excellent hotel for those looking to stay in the heart of the tourist area. It is located right on Rynok Square, and the rooms are simple, spacious, and clean. The staff also speaks good English and were helpful. Only potential downsides: you have to walk up a flight to stairs to reception, the soundproofing between the rooms is very poor, and the hotel doesn't have many amenities such as a restaurant, gym, etc. These weren't issues for me.

Best value and location by far!

Centrally located and modern

I wanted a central location as I wanted to be able to do sight seeing easily and not to have to spend extra money or time travelling far. Also somewhere fairly modern as the last time I stayed in Lviv I had trouble operating the shower and it made me late several times! This accommodation met both these requirements. The furnishings are clean and modern and of a high standard and the bathroom is very modern and clean too. I would agree with a lot of other guest comments about room noise so if you want a quieter room stay at the back although the view from the front is lovely too (I stayed in both room types of room during my stay). Each receptionist I met was more than helpful and anything I needed was dealt with in a helpful, friendly manner. All spoke English well too. Having access to bottled water and a tea/coffee tray in the room was good. There is no problem getting something to eat around and about as Rynok Square is full of restaurants and cafes and there are also many supermarkets nearby if you want to eat cheaply/DIY. Note: this is NOT accommodation for people with mobility problems as there are a lot of stairs and no lift. The airport transfer was booked and dealt with for me with no problem as well. I stayed in Lviv for 4 nights and would definitely stay here again in the future.

The best location and value

If they have rooms available, don't look further, the best value for money, too bad they only have 6 rooms.

Outstanding Guest House in Lviv

Wonderful stay in Lviv. The room I stayed in was the exact room from the photo on the website. Spotlessly clean, comfortable bed and pillows, wonderful bathroom. I just wish I had more than one day to enjoy it. I will be in that part of the world next year and I will plan on staying in Lviv for a few days and will stay at the Guest House at Nr. 13 again.

Бракує в готелі мікрохвильової печі, щоб ввечері підігріти їжу та в номері було холодно (адміністратор підкрутив батареї, але за весь день сильно нічого і не нагрілось, тому вночі знову було зимно).

Vi hade en god upplevelse, rent hjälp när det behövdes. Det enda vi hade problem med var temperaturen i rummet, hade vi inte lppnat fönstret var det mellan 27-31 grader. Men skulle starkt rekommendera detta ställe, hjälpsam och vänlig personal, rent, bra läge.

Good place in general

Its very pleasant and one of my favorites while in Lviv, this time I had 2 issue: Water on shower weren't super hot- been told its as of the renovation. Also, one night I come late and the door code didn't work, I called a few times until the receptionist got down to open for me. Good that its not heavy winter!
