It was a great spot to hang out and do stuff with my sisters. We were able to walk to Rathtrevor beach right from the property. We’ll be back next year. But maybe stay in a unit closer to the hot tub.

Beautiful resort totally amazed loving it here

We booked this vacation for my mother's 70th birthday. I reserved a two bedroom condo. When I arrived, I was checked in and proceeded to my room. Upon arrival, I noticed that it was only a one bedroom condo. They had booked it incorrectly. I immediately contacted the front desk to be told that there were no two bedrooms. The hotel did give us another one bedroom condo however, this was not ideal as a girls trip was now split into two different locations. It put a big damper on the occasion. Other than finding us a one bedroom, there was no effort to amend the situation with any sort of promotion. We were disappointed to say the lease.

We had a great winter getaway at Ocean Trails. We enjoyed the off season rates, the beautiful beach walks and the comfortable units. The property is very well maintained, including the hot tub which is kept impressively clean.

Our stay was awesome and the staff and maintenance team were so helpful.

Suite was great well equipped. Pool was great but hot tub was shut down and not useable which was a real disappointment. We were also surprised that you have to rent a barbecue. Never heard of this. All the surrounding properties provided use of one. Room could have been cleaner. Staff didn’t seem to communicate. Should mention barbeque ahead not to find out you must order before 4 when check in is after 4

Check in was late, but good communication allowed us into our condo with ease. Friendly office staff. Peaceful, relaxing but didn not stay long enough to fully enjoy it. Next time for sure... Thanks

We enjoyed our stay in the condo. It was clean and quiet. Check-in was easy. We were a short walk to Rath-Trevor Beach. The pool was lovely.

Spending so much money for 5 days and can’t even provide anything ? No towels / coffee

We absolutely loved our stay . Very quiet and close to the beach. Close to parksville and amenities but also close to Nanaimo as well . The place was clean and full of all amenities needed. Would absolutely stay again and hope to go back soon!

Nice family resort

It was our second time using Ocean Trails for a family vacation and we were once again very pleased with the cleanliness, comfort and all the amenities close by. Staff is wonderful and the beach close by is great for people of all age. We will go back again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Our 1bedroom was updated, clean and quiet. Although there was no AC, the ceiling fan and portable fan made it work. The pool and hot tub were fantastic and the walking distance to the beach was close and easy. We enjoyed all of the equipment available to use such as beach toys and pickleball racquets. The unit towels and pillows could use refreshing or replacing. It would also be nice to have designated pool towels. Also, the foot washing area could use some maintenance as it gets muddy there which isn’t ideal when you want to clean your feet. Overall we had an amazing vacation, highly recommend and will definitely go back.

It was very clean the rooms were nice and comfortable.

Good place to stay for a family vacation. The beach access was pretty easy except the lock on the gate. We loved the beautiful outdoor swimming pool. The only thing I felt missing was customer service in person. I didn’t really feel friendliness.

From 'check in' to 'check out', communication was awesome! Having a full operational kitchen was a money and time saver. Heck, there's even laundry available!! The hard working grounds staff make sure everything is upkept nicely. If you're not prepared to clean up after yourselves (dishes, vacuum, sweep) pay double the amount and stay somewhere else- otherwise, for a comfortable, private condo with pool and hot tub- this place is perfect. Thank you Ocean Trails!!

Beautiful

We were so impressed with the cleanliness, the quietness, the over all ambience of the setting. Truly enjoyed our stay and hope to one day return.

Lay out of the suites

Our particular unit had morning and afternoon sun. Bright and cheery. Very quiet, peaceful location. Lovely walking trails.

We really appreciated the phone call from the property the day prior to our arrival to find out what time we were arriving. That made our check in the next day stress free! Easy to find and super quiet place! Thank-you!

Beautiful, peaceful resort. The only issue was that the hot tub was closed the last 2 days we were there, but other than that it was excellent.

Been coming here since I was 5 always a great memory good location good setup etc however these aren’t always enough to make up for weaknesses Some things are in desperate need of upgrade/maintenance most notably the single beds that are hardly standing and the super worn out noisy mattresses . This is the same issue I’ve had the previous 3 stays as well. Great family place though.

Better lighting for reading. Better garbage drop off.

Family Beach Vacation

Great place to stay with the family. This was our second visit and we absolutely love it. They have everything you would need and the kids loved the pool/hottub. Close to all that Parksville has to offer and right near the beach. Highly reccomend.

Went during a non peak season so not very busy. Kitchen is well appointed with everything i needed to cook. Clean homes, very comfortable bedding, quiet and super close to beach. Woule definitely return.

We loved the proximity to the beach! We also loved how quiet and safe the property was, and how our family of 5 had lots of room in the condo-style space. Full kitchen was great too!

This property is not fancy but it is very clean, affordable, safe, and very close to the ocean. There are lots of walking trails nearby and it's a very safe, clean community. The grounds of the property are lovely with a nice pool and hot tub. The front desk personnel are so helpful and pleasant.

Location is great, property sits right above the beach, just a short walk to Rathtrevor Provincial Park. The suite was very clean, bedroom was large and included a fully equipped kitchen. Hot tub was a short walk away from our unit and was great on the cool nights.

Overall was a pleasant stay. The two room condo was well laid out and comfortable. It really felt like a home away from home. To add some constructive critisism; the parking spot was small and we had to use the lawn to back into it in a midsize import.

This was a clean, organized and well run property. Beach and highway access was great.

Spacious condo with beach access.

Nice place

Suite was very clean, the kitchen was well equipped and the appliances worked well. The gas fireplace heated the unit satisfactorily, and there was always plenty of hot water. Our only dissatisfaction was that the bed in the main bedroom was only a double. Would we stay there again? Yes.

It has everything you need except food. Thrifty's is only a 5 min drive away for groceries. It was very clean and up to date!

I can’t give negative stars as we loved it ! But if you supply a coffee pot and coffee please supply coffee filters as it’s something travellers don’t usually pack . The bed in room 68 badly needs to be replaced but we loved it regardless

Our unit was very new and comfortable. I didn’t like the shady porch. We never knew if it was sunny until we went out the front door. We would have preferred a king bed but there are not many to be had. The Front Desk was very friendly and welcoming. The heated pool and hot tub were fine.

Great room. We had two bedrooms, one bathroom and a huge kitchen with island and living room. Steps to the outdoor pool and hot tub.

My family of 6 stayed here for a track meet in Nanaimo. Our accommodations were spacious and clean, comfortable and quiet. The beach is great. There is lots to do for a family including free beach toys to borrow, basketball, tennis, playground, pool, running trails and mini golf a short walk way. The town is a close 5 min drive for groceries and restaurants. The front desk staff was wonderful. We will definitely go back.

Very kids friendly.

Traveled with family, 2 adults and 2 toddlers. This property was great for us as it had a pool and playground to keep the little ones busy when we weren't at the beach or touring Parksville and the surrounding area. The unit we stayed in was clean. Kitchen was stocked with the basics - pots, pans, dishes, cutlery, toaster, coffee maker, kettle, etc. The only downfall was that the sofa bed was uncomfortable because there was a dip in the mattress and you could feel the bars underneath. It was also super creaky. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay and will most likely be back!

The office of the resort is very well organized. I received a phone call before our arrival to confirm our arrival time & was given info about how to gain access to our unit if we arrived after the Front Desk was closed. When we arrived, the Front Desk Receptionist was very friendly & helpful. The location of the resort is superb, next to the beach & close to town. The unit was very clean & well-equipped. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Our three-bedroom townhouse was spacious and had all the kitchen supplies we needed to prepare our own meals.

The cost is higher than provided service in the property.

It was so very comfortable and homey with lane-like driveway through with grass and lovely greenery. Kitchenette had everything you would need. Having washer and dryer in the suite was amazing. We would definitely go there again when going to that area. It wasn't 'glitzy and new' but cozy and tranquil.

The property was great! The walk to the beach was a bit steep but totally worth it! Our unit was a bit dated but very clean and had a lot of amenities.

The resort was well-maintained and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our location near the hot tub and pool. The room itself was very clean and had everything we needed. Felt like a home away from home.

We loved our stay! The two bedroom apt we stayed in had everything we needed to prepare meals and extra bedding and towels. The only things we missed where salt/pepper and sugar. The complex is great for families, there were always kids at the playground. Access to the beach is easy to follow, we even went at night. We would definitely stay there again.

Is a very nice property and courteous staff. However the room had some issues. The fireplace fan was so loud you had to shut off of after a while it was so noisy. The TV's very very small and the room above is the pipes all made loud noises when the water ran.

Beautiful location. Lots of mature trees and quick and easy access to a gorgeous beach. Outdoor hot tub access in the winter is fun and much appreciated.

Our stay was awesome. It was really nice to have the conveniences of home.

Furnishings and carpet were old and uncomfortable. The bed needed to be replaced and was terrible. Bedding was worn. The whole condo needs updating.

Stay for four nights, giving one pack of coffee, no tea bag, no shampoo and no conditioner (back order over two months)

The property very nice and spacious.except the laundry dryer opens from the right and should be changed to open from the left because we have to force the closet door in to open the dryer and our fingers get caught in beyween

Ocean Trails

Ocean Trail apartments are very comfortable and well equipped. The kitchen also is well equipped but had absolutely NO spices/oil & vinegar - not even salt and pepper. All in all a very good experience.

Good location for exploring this part of Vancouver Island. Great pool and hot tub that was nicely heated at this time of year. Unfortunately the weather prevented us from fully exploring the beach area. All amenities as advertised.

Parksville

Units are older but very clean. Our unit was close to the pool and trail to the beach - perfect really. Overall a nice place for a few days. Parksville itself needs to work on its tourist amenities, it’s very expensive.

Everything was fine and the office and cleaning staff were friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub. We will stay here again.

The location was good. The oil and hot tub were good. Quiet. I would have liked a BBQ out in th back to cook on.

Good communication

The resort is very close to the beach and it has a very swimming pool/hot tub area.

The unit itself as well as the property was very clean. Everything looks really well kept. The staff i spoke with on the phone was very helpful and accommodating.

It was very good to be nearby ocean to get clam. Also, it was a very clean and a nice place.

Checked out 2 days early as the property was not ideal for our toddlers. We stayed at the back of the property which has construction going on at the pool its not fenced off and is right next to the park. Asked if it was possible for a refund for the 2 nights we did not stay as it wasn’t cheap was told the manager would call me....received a voicemail 2 days later that we wouldn’t be receiving a refund and they have put some tape around the construction area🙄....great trip!!!!
