Well-lit path to entrance
We spent 2 nights at the MesaStila Resort and had a wonderful time. Staff were incredibly helpful, even before we arrived at the property. They helped us arrange our transportation to/from MesaStila and a jeep tour up Mount Telomoyo. Each day, activities are offered for those who are interested. We enjoyed the coffee plantation tour and learning more about the property and their current coffee production. The property grounds were lovely - the old plantation buildings have been well-maintained and our villa was spacious and comfortable. We especially loved the views of the volcanoes from the club house when it was clear. Being in the jungle, it was obviously buggy, but it's a thoughtful touch that they keep mosquito spray in most of the buildings for guests to use. Overall, I'd highly recommend MesaStila if you're looking for a jungle getaway!
Top of the line 5* resort with terrific grounds and all amenities. Loved the lounge, restaurant and pool. Did not have enough time to explore the surroundings, which look nice.
This is one of the best resorts we have been in Indonesia. Service was excellent and we enjoyed a lot our stay despite that it was rainy season. Don’t miss tea time nor the spa. Awesome views and perfect escape from Jkt. As I have small kids, we went to the playroom and was very disappointed. There were many broken toys and kind of dirty. However my kids enjoyed to play there. I do really hope we can go back soon!
It's different.
Staff is perfect, the location is really extraordinary. The food is absolutely delicious. It is a plantation, so it is a really large area the resort is on. If you come to MesaStila you'll have an experience which is not the Bali or Thailand type of feeling, it's just special and we loved it! Kudos to our driver Rafien, he was the most professional, most friendly and the best chauffeur we ever had!
We found all the members of staff very friendly and eager to help with any enquiries Also enjoyed the variety of complementary activities
Delightful hotel in a lovely location
Beautiful place with a great staff who were very friendly and attentive. It was a little expensive but worth it!
Beautiful property with fantastic service
Loads of character at the property Excellent service High quality food in Java Red restaurant
Outstanding spa in breathtaking surroundings
We had a wonderful, relaxing and informative experience at Mesastila. From spa treatments to a coffee plantation tour and a family game of croquet, our stay at Mesastila provided us with relaxation, information and fun!
Beautiful, serene retreat
Beautiful authentic Javanese resort set high in the mountains in a working coffee plantation. All rooms are different so see a few and pick the one that suits you best. Swimming pool is stunning and spa excellent with very reasonable rates
Peaceful, beautiful. Well worth it.
Mesa Stila is the perfect place to relax or decompress. Attentive staff, but not overly so. Lovely food. Beautiful spa. Comfortable beds. Clean air. Exactly what I needed. Just wish it was closer to home
Volcanic view
Lovely location with very good activities and facilities such as an infinity pool, tennis court, and batik learning (although for a fitness resort the gym equipment is very poor). Staff were very nice, polite and always willing to help. Communal areas were very nice, both traditional and Dutch colonial style. Villas are set out over a small hill with some having a fantastic view of the 'local' volcanoes. The villa style was a touch too rustic for my liking (painted stone and brick walls on the inside) but I appreciate others will like this style. Overall, a very nice resort.
Little slice of paradise
This what exceeded my expectations and I had high expectations! Beautiful setting, gorgeous property and very friendly. Highly recommended.
Nice hotel however food isnt of top quality.
Our stay was good. Spa is fantastic however food isn't up to a good standard. The western food isnt great and the Indonesian food isn't authentic. Had new years eve meal there and the food was lacking in every way. Because it was compulsory when booking, we did it and felt rather cheated of a good meal Otherwise, the hotel and people are lovely.
Serene,quiet & refreshing environment
Excellent locations, quiet, exclusive and refreshing environment for taking a break away from city life.
Wonderful memorable stay....
Initially, we were sceptical about this place due to the long drive from the airport and the run down surroundings. However, upon reaching this place, we were totally enchanted by the well kept hotel. It is immaculately clean, not even a frog or insect. The staff is very polite and knowledgeable. Weather was cool and food selection was impressive. Rooms are clean and with beautiful layout. We stayed in the hotel throughout the three days we were there without going out. The facilities inside the hotel are so good that you do not feel like going anywhere else; it feels like home to us. Every staff is so friendly, taking care of our needs and requests. This hotel looks into every single detail; right up to our breakfast, whether to pack for us to eat or coming back to hotel to have our breakfast. We are definitely going back next year.
jogja borobodur
Nice and quietly remote location. Due to high.prices and out of season, there was no other guests in the.resort. Food is not fresh for the same reason probably and a taste of wine was refused because turned into vinegar...they offer to open a.new.bottle, but no thanks.
Boutique experience gone wrong
Mesastila is a newly acquired property formerly known as Losari Hotel (which is how most taxi drivers still know it as). We stayed there for 3 nights over the Chinese New Year weekend. With boutique hotels, its always a bit tricky on the overall experience. This one fell short by a huge margin. The hotel location is roughly 2.5hrs from Yogyakarta , 1.5hrs from Borobudur , 2.5hrs from Mt. Merapi, 2.5 hrs from Pramabanan temple. In short you would need to carve out traveling time just to get to these places. Would strongly recommend using outside taxi services which offer the same or arguably better itinerary for a significantly lower price. Food and Spa were really what kept us from cutting our trip short here. Hotel has a rustic theme, but it's bordering worn out and tired look. Rooms don't have a dinning menu, we were told the kitchen will explain the menu when you call, which sounded absurd. no body lotion or mosquito repellents either. We requested for a dinner reservation at one of the (nicer) hotels near Borobudur , which the hotel completely forgot to make. After a frustrating round trip, we received no apology from the manager, who didn't show up in-spite of us requesting to speak with him. Instead,we were offered a refund for the taxi fare to the hotel. Clearly, this place lacks management focus on service and attention to detail. Rates charged here don't justify the overall experience.
Peaceful Escape
This is a nicely set up niche retreat. Those familiar with travelling within Indonesia may initially feel a little sticker shock when considering the rates and various charges for extras as the place is clearly pitched at the international market. However fortunately they deliver on the promise. We were so impressed by the presentation of the whole place, it is simply immaculate; from the villa units carefully restored from relocated traditional houses from across Java to the gardens and plantation, all carefully manicured. The service is friendly and the amenities including the restaurant were up to the expected standard, all helping to add to the feeling of escape. This is not a family resort, teenagers are going to get board very quickly but for a romantic getaway for a couple of days we couldn't have asked for better.
Best place to relaxing.. and Great ESCAPE
The hotel location is great, it's surrounded by 8 mountains, so we could see beautiful view during the day. Perfect place to getaway from the city because it's a welness place so they limit the usage of phone and television. Suprisingly the food is great including the coffee. The room is spacious with antique javanese furnitures. The bathtub is amazing, it's made from a stone and served with big window in front so we could enjoy the sunset. It was a great escape

Perfect place to wind down away from the city. Place where we can reset our minds before going back to our daily routine. The staff are always there to help and super friendly. Much appreciated.
