We stayed in a cabin. Very comfortable, rustic, quaint and warm. A little small. Stacey was extremely nice and accommodating. The lodge itself was closed for the season.

Very quiet, clean lovely space- the owner was very attentive.

Original booking was for a lodge room but owners upgraded me to a cabin at no extra cost. Super cute cabin. No frills but comfortable. It is not within walking distance of Talkeetna, so I do recommend having a vehicle. There is a dog kennel somewhere in the neighborhood with lots of barking but did quiet down in the night and had no trouble sleeping. Hosts were very nice. I would absolutely recommend for a quick stay at an affordable price.

This was an adorable cabin, clean and cozy. We appreciated all the thoughtful, little touches - like paper plates and cutlery, extra blankets, and hot cocoa.

It was a cute little cabin. Perfect for what we wanted.

Great host, very helpful with dining options for dining and exploring. Picked the local Latitude restaurant on her advice, perfect. House is perfect.

It is a bit out of town but nice stay.

Lodge inside is great. However, the road leading to the place is poorly maintained.

It was VERY cute and clean. However, it did not have a bathroom in the cabin which was NOT in bold print anywhere in the description so we didn't find out until we checked in. We had to walk to a separate building - and a bear had been spotted a few weeks earlier. I need to get up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom so that was a major issue.

Quiet little lodge setting near cute Talkeetna. Suite 2 has private entrance. Shared kitchen clean and well-equipped. Would definitely stay again.

Cute, cozy cabin in the woods!

What a delightful stay! Stacey (the owner) was so wonderful and came to the cabin upon arrival to let us in as well as go over instructions. The cabin was very clean and had everything needed. The bathroom area was very close to the cabin but was still a small walk. Please note that if you are not okay with walking in the woods to the bathroom, this experience is not for you. Overall, a great experience and an even better price point!

Home away from home!!!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night stay! Beautiful accommodation, comfy, cozy, clean…Meandering Moose Lodge has it all! Stacey is very personable and truly made us feel welcome! Two thumbs up!

Our flight was late and we were very kind exceptions to check-in. It is a lovely place.

Lovely place to stay.

The Meandering Moose is a lovely property cared for by the owners…upon arrival we met Stacy one of the owners and she greeted us with a welcoming smile. The hotel has all the amenities needed for a comfortable stay. Coffee, tea, hot chocolate and microwaveable popcorn is available for guests. There’s a lovely porch to sit on and relax as well as a huge shared living room for guests. We stayed in the suite so we had access to our own private bathroom and washer and dryer. The Meandering Moose is conveniently located as we only traveled a couple minutes for the glacier plane excursion.

Quaint cabin

The cabin was cute and had all the essentials. It was very clean and owner is very friendly. It was nice to be out jn the quiet. I enjoyed my morning coffee watching bunnies and birds out in front of the cabin.

We only stayed one night, but it was amazing. The cabin was cozy the area was just beautiful. Thank you guys so much.

well, it was great till it wasn't! i was under impression that we booking a hotel-like-room and it turned out that owner had a freedom to walk into my room when I was in bed and talk to me like I am 12 year old! well, non of that is acceptable, if you have a rules, post them or let people know, if you don't like kids - say that in your ad ... but definitely never walk into someone's room when they in bed in pj's and insult them ...

Very, very nice! New, had all the amenities thought of available. Road back rough but a delight when you arrive!

Loved our stay!!

We loved our stay at Meandering Moose. We had the upstairs suite which had a private bathroom, washer/dryer, and lots of room. In the shared kitchen area, we had access to the refrigerator and coffee each morning! Stacey greeted us when we arrived and was available throughout our stay if we needed anything. We loved the area!!

Meandering Moose was the perfect spot close to Talkeetna but far enough away from the tourist traffic. The rooms were clean. We stayed in the lodge with other guests but everyone was quiet and pleasant. On the way out we saw a mother moose nursing her calf. It topped off our visit.

The hosts were very friendly and knowledgeable. Super easy check in. The room was extremely clean. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone wanting to stay in Talkeetna.

This place was a last minute booking. So glad we did! The cabin was quant and the location remote! Still close enough to head into Talkeetna for food and sight seeing. The host family was down to earth and super friendly!

Our hostess was great. The lodge was lovely. As advertised it is a little bit away from town, but Charlie was a good Uber.

Loved the fact that the lodge felt remote but was still close to Talkeetna. It was difficult to get a nice photo of the property due to clutter around it. It stands to reason that all that stuff is either used to maintain or kept in case, but maybe should be moved to a different location so not to affect what you are doing inside.

It was a quiet location but close enough to get to town. It was a perfect place to stay.

Perfect choice for Talkeenta

Our hosts were friendly- helpful- and on-site for every little request. Coffee was aplenty, other guests were interesting, and the facility clean and location serene yet close to town

We got the upstairs suite and it was amazing. Out of all the places we’ve stayed at in Alaska, this is our fave. We had our own bathroom with a washer and dryer in-unit!!! Shared kitchen and living room. Very homey and private. Super happy with our stay. It was very clean too!!!

What a great place - quiet - private - quality - if lodging with a common area is your cup of tea then this is absolutely the place for you

I didn’t realize that I would be sharing a bathroom in the main house (maybe I didn’t read the listing closely enough?) but it was a comfortable and economical night sleep. Secluded, authentically Alaskan and cozy place to spend a night before my early morning glacier flight. Having stayed at the cruise tourist factory that is the Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge for two nights, I highly recommend the Meandering moose lodge over that any day!

Everything was accommodating, clean and I didn't want to leave pet friendly. The entire experience was breathtaking. Only down side was the wifi quit as soon as you went in the cabin probably due to the roof, but that was ok for i needed a bit of a break.. Thank you Stacy for being so welcoming

Comfortable hospitality in a super cool town

Wonderful stay after roughing it with some camping for a few nights. Much needed shower and rest, and a massive, well-equipped kitchen! Plus the wonderful porches with fire pits. Hosts were wonderful and the town of Talkeetna is *fantastic*. Highly recommend!

Nowhere to hang clothes in the bedroom or bathroom!

I really enjoyed staying at the Meandering Moose cabin! The large main cabin was absolutely beautiful and sleep accommodations were so comfortable. Stacey was such a gem! The lodge is only a few minutes from Talkeetna. It’s perfectly tucked away in a forest giving you all the quiet and peace you need. I would absolutely stay here again in the future!

Great cabin. Very clean, owners very nice. Overall had a great stay.

Poor signage and directions. Put 4 older 60 people in a cabin with pull down stairs. Had a little hassle to come to an agreement to get a different cabin. The second cabin still had steep stairs.

Quaint cabin with useful amenities! Refrig, coffee pot, fan, heater, microwave, and pull out bed/couch besides the double bed. Allows dogs in this cabin for us local travelers. Good check-in service and bathhouse close to cabin.

Beautiful lodge! Wonderful kitchen - prepared a lot of meals in the house. We saw a moose outside our window! We had a great time and felt very comfortable. Hosts were very welcoming!

We had a great time at the main lodge in a recently completed room on the main floor with its own private access and excellent bed and brand new toilet area. Tastefully decorated with crafty wildlife images and the facility was spotless!

Very friendly owners

The lodge location is perfect for a quiet morning. The room, bathroom and common areas were super clean. Overall the stay was comfortable. Will definitely recommend a stay at Meandering Moose Lodge.

Mike & Kelly were great hosts! The main house is gorgeous & spacious with a nice front deck. There was ample space to sprawl out while still feeling like you were at home. We will definitely be back!

Did not know you had to climb an attic pull down ladder to get to beds upstairs. Was unable to use upstairs bed

Nice Visit

Nice room, clean and cozy. I arrived after check in hours but everything I needed was available and waiting in the room. Safe environment and charming. Would stay here again.

The drive in was beautiful, the road full of potholes, lol, but worth it because the property is way off the main road. The BnB house is beautiful! They offer everything one would expect from a BnB...they just don't tell you how loud it is, I don't mean loud by other people being there but the owner needs to realize that there are people who go to bed around 9 p.m., that side door you walk through and shut really hard to make sure it is shut, well for the guests in Room 1 it is so loud it scared the hell out of me when it woke me up at 9:30, then at 9:45, oh and then when you came back in for the guests who arrived later...just fell back to sleep and again you had to go through that side door, you do realize that nobody can hear that front door open at all??? Because i didn't hear the guests arrive just you opening and closing that door....also please be curtitous enough to let the late arrival guests know that when its after 9:30 and if they are staying up stairs that the people down stairs just might be sleeping and to be just a little quiet because the people in Room 1 can hear EVERYTHING they are doing and saying that late at night because we are being quiet, by tryyyyyiiing to sleep....just a suggestion to the owners who live on the property 😉

Stacey and Peter are on the property 24/7 and are not only available if you need them but they go the extra mile to make sure you have what you need. The Lodge itself is gorgeous. We had an activity rained out one day and were able to enjoy the afternoon back at the lodge. The location is super convenient to all activities and restaurants in Talkeetna but is off the Spur Road, so it doesn't get a lot of car or foot traffic and is very quiet.

Our family stayed in the upstair suite, and it was very cozy and comfortable. It was so great that washer and dryer were equipped there. The entire cabin is so pretty, and surrounding is refresh and quiet. We all loved the place. The host is super nice. Definitely will recommend anyone who will visit Talkeetna for their trip stop.

Clean comfortable place

More rustic than I was expecting. Only had a small kitchen sink, no sink in or near the bathroom, no sink with a mirror. Loft upstairs was very low - had to crawl in the space and the ladder that went up there was in the middle of the main floor space. Lots of mosquitoes going into the cabin at every opportunity. Shower was teeny tiny. Space was clean. However, my son really enjoyed this place. He would stay there again, I would not.

Our family of four stayed in the upstairs bedroom in the lodge and it was super comfortable and convenient. The owners are the sweetest!! Thank you!

AK Family Travels

We enjoyed our two nights in “The Mangy Moose” cabin. We have a family of 6 adults and slept comfortably between the 6 beds upstairs (sleeps 8) in the 2-room open loft. Cozy downstairs with 2 full couches (1 is a futon), kitchen and 1 bathroom. 5 minutes drive to the fun small town of Talkeetna, (but not walkable).

Of all the places we stayed in Alaska, this was by far the best!! We stayed at Snoozin' Moose Cabin and it was perfect for our family of 4. There were two beds upstairs for the kids and a nice bed downstairs for the adults. We wish we could have stayed there longer! It was fun hanging out in the cabin and playing games that they supplied us. My only recommendations would be to add a mirror someplace in the cabin and supply a smore kit to use by the fire. We would have loved to do smores. I would highly recommend staying here and will definitely stay there again if we ever return to the area. Talkeetna

Place was lovely. Our guest were nit there at ck in so we were a little confused about our room but upon reading instructions and posted notes, figured it it. Host very friendly. Chatted for a while.

Alaska family trip

My husband and I stayed with our 15 year old daughter in the upstairs suite. The space was nice and the bed comfortable. It was a warmer day and though the hostess, who was very nice, had a large fan set up when we arrived, it would have been great to have screens on the many windows so we could have opened them. Because we didn’t want to shut our door (it was the only room upstairs) to allow airflow, this resulted in two different parties walking into our room thinking it was where they “check-in”. We knew there was not a traditional check in, which was okay, but our stay wasn’t quite as relaxing with the inability to close our door while cooling the space. On the flip side, this made the lack of lock on the door less of an issue. Would recommend the place to others but just know there is no lock on the door to your room and no screens on windows.

We LOVED this cozy cabin! Secluded and quiet, It was perfect for my wife and I and our 2 young adult children. The upstairs loft had 2 large comfortable beds for each and the downstairs queen was also nice. our only regret was that we were only able to stay 1 night. No TV, no WiFi , the perfect place to disconnect and spend quality time with the family or friends playing games until bed time or chatting by the fire pit. Out of all the hotels, motels, VRBO we stayed at on our 10 day road trip in Alaska this was by far the best! Thank you so much! Make sure to stop by the Swiss Alaska Inn for a good breakfast which is 5 minutes away.

Other than a bit of a walk to get to the property (as I did not have a car), I really enjoyed my stay and the Owner is just fantastic!

We appreciated the privacy of our cabin. Stacey was pleasant and provided items we forgot to bring.

This is a must stay place staff was awesome the cabins are super cool and rustic yet comfortable with all the amenities to cook clean shower I am great responses two inquiries and games in the cabin. My kids love the loft and the safe environment.

Amazing night sleep with the rain & comfy bed ! Cute little cabin everything we needed would highly recommend if you like staying out of the city.

We had a quick one night stay on our way back to Anchorage. The bed was super comfortable and cozy. We stayed in a room inside the main lodge. The price was right. We had a shared bathroom with one other room, but we lucked out as that other room was vacant. The bathroom was great. It’s a claw foot tub, but did have grab bar for accessibility should you require that. We had a big kitchen with full access to. Our host greeted us with a big smile, was very friendly and helpful. The property has several smaller cabins also. The town of Talkeetna was adorable with a breathtaking view of Denali right at the end of Main Street. Definitely recommend this town on your travels and you would not regret your stay at the Meandering Moose!

We enjoyed a quiet stay at Meandering Moose. It’s a beautiful location and Kathy and Christie were helpful in orienting us to the area.

The owner was super-nice, and we enjoyed being able to do our laundry onsite. However, while the rooms were clean, the furniture, etc was very dated so I wasn't certain how "clean" it was. Our cabin also had a strange odor - not a dirty odor but not a clean one either. Also, there were not blackout shades on the windows, so we had light coming in all night.

The cabin was really fun for an Alaskan adventure! It was an open style cabin with a loft. We called it our Little House on the Prairie cabin. We were able to sleep 2 families in the cabin comfortably. It had everything we needed from bathroom, to kitchen supplies to enough beds. It was also less than 5 minutes from the boat launch to great salmon fishing.
