We ended up getting upgraded to an executive suite! Awesome location!

The room smelled mouldy. Furniture was all rotten and chipped, no iron in the room. Worst of all, the a/c would shut off in the nite.

24 hour trip

I only stayed for the afternoon as my visa was denied and I couldn't stay longer. But I had a shower and a nap amd the hospitality was quite good. Great location if you are an NYU Shanghai parent

Close to NYU Shanghai!

This hotel is super close to NYU Shanghai. If you're visiting someone at the school, then this is the place to stay. There are street food vendors close by (yummy food), and a Family Mart just a short walk away. The Metro is about a 10 minute walk.

Room is showing its age. Bathroom fixtures loose and shower head also loose and leaking.

Staff in the front desk can’t speak english. Very hard to communicate w/ them esp. if you need something or if your need some information. We had a hard time looking for the airport transfer driver we booked directly from the concierge of the hotel.

Because there were a big group booking, I end up got a free upgrade to the executive floor. Walking distance to Lujiazui Financial district and subway station. New York University Shanghai Campus and Shanghai Future Exchange Center are just across the street from the hotel.

I would come back and stay at this hotel. It’s located about 40 minutes away from Pudong airport and located at a quite location. Staffs are nice but not very well English speaking. I asked for more drinking water and the lady ended up didn’t charge me (although the front desk said there’s additional charge). The concierge is very patiently helped me find a tour (although sometimes he got distracted trying to help other customers). It’s not his fault but Chinese customers don’t know much about waiting on their turn. You may find annoying sometimes. I ate twice at the hotel dining and wantan (雲吞湯）soup is not bad.

Nice hotel, 10 min walk to #2 subway. Spacious rooms. Worth the price.

Convenient and comfortable

Good quiet hotel near the stock exchange although there are more luxurious options close by. The staff was helpful and friendly with limited English. Breakfast had both western and Asian options. There is an ATM in the lobby that will dispense cash from US debit cards as several banks across street don’t work with non-Chinese cards. About a 10min walk to century ave metro line which has several lines for convenient travel options.

Good location, the rest not so good

The room looks old. The hotel desperately needs a a few things changed. The shower cabin was old, moldy and barely functional; it brings the whole bathroom down. They show an exchange rate at the service desk but refuse to change money. Asked the concierge to call a taxi. They called a private car with no taxi rights and overcharged me with more than double rate and no receipt. I do not recommend this hotel for anyone.

location on google map is wrong, it is a bit far from train station. got upgrade and had a big room. however, it is indeed a little old but service/staff is good.

It could have been better

The staff at the front desk were not helpful. When I asked to change the doller to Chinese money, I was told to go across the street to the bank. At breakfast, the hostress were unfriendly asking me to pay immediately after sitting down at the table.

The only issue is language problem but they managed to provide a great service

I have stayed at this hotel for many years. It is convenient but not too expensive. After these many times I am comfortable with the facilities and staff.

Tongmao hotel Pudong Shanghai near Century Ave.

It is little bit far from "Centry Ave subway station" . 20 min by walk. Taxi is easy to get in and out. Room Temperature control is nothing. Nothing under control... It is too cold during the rainy nights. Shower drain is not working well... But not blocked...takes 5 min after shower to drain out. My room has two windows and bright great view. No restaurants and shops near hotel. But within 10 min walk area, i can find some foot message shops... gooood ! The North Korean restaurant at ground floor is expensive, old interiors and too noisy to enjoy foods. But 2nd floor restaurant is good and clean.

Tong Mao

Not really geared up for westerners. Good area to walk etc but for eating and drinking nothing much in the surrounding area. Hotel and room very nice. Ground floor restaurant give it a miss should of known as I was only person in there.

Great location for NYU campus

The hotel is right across the street from the NYU Shanghai campus. It is a great location if you plan to spend any time around there. It is a few blocks to walk to the nearest metro. The hotel itself is clean, the rooms are good sized, and the price is very reasonable. Not all of the staff speaks English, but in each case where we needed help they were able to find somebody to help us. The breakfast buffet is ok, nothing special. There are a couple coffee shops and a subway near by, but not a lot of other places to eat.

Fair visit

Hotel is convenient close to Shanghai International Exhibition grounds, but you need a cab or sometime the show/fair has buses. Not many "Westerns" the time I was there. Very few guests in the hotels restaurants so you have excellent attention and service. Food was just OK.... Language skills (English) very basic for anybody I encountered from the staff.

Business stay

2days for business. Concierge was great. Price was good. Location is a 10 min walk to subway and western food, but nice and quiet. Stayed here before and will choose again.

Worst hotel ever!!!!

This Hotel was such a bad choice!!!! The outside lookes very nice. But the rooms havent been cleaned properly in years. Black mold in the shower which can easily be wiped with a cloth. Dust eveeywhere, asked to me moved and the next room wasnt any better. The service was horrible.

Trip To drop off son at NYU

We came to drop off our son at NYU. Location was excellent for that purpose. How ever place needs better service and maintenance. A drunk threw up on the 10th floor in front of elevator and slept their all night. Nobody had him moved and they did not clean up the place for three days.

Sweat Box !!!!!

Air conditioning comes on in afternoon for a couple of hours. Inquiry as to why room is SO HOT gets a surely reply concerning economics. Good location but be prepared to SWEAT, ....did I mention SWEAT!!!!!

Close to transportation

It was average for me. And I was disappointed about the room I book and the room i stayed in

Typical better class Chinese hotel. Pros: Many staff spoke English. Very convenient to the subway. 5 minutes walk to Fushan Road or 15 minutes to Laoshan Road for a good selection of local restaurants. 3 Starbucks within 10 minutes walk. Cons: They did not have their air conditioning turned on yet (end of April and 28+C temps) and the Wi-Fi kept dropping the connection.

Generally Ok and great location

Nice hotel generally. .. showing is age in many respects Found a roach in bathroom but to be honest these exist in all hotels (whether you know it or not! ) Very opulent in some ways Not all staff speak English Breakfast is adequate not outstanding Wi Fi is not outstanding. Will do very well for a visit to Shanghai and put this on your short list

Trade show visit

Stayed here when visiting a trade show due to closeness to the international fair grounds. Place had all the typical marks of beeing in business a few years. Need a "clean up" and update. Value for the money. No "gourme" food in the hotel or close by. Mostly local people as guests.

Taxi driver collusion with the hotel staff

If it wasn't because of the unreasonable taxi charge, the hotel would be Okay. Bellboy called to my hotel room and asked if I needed a taxi to the airport for the next morning, also added that it's gonna be hard for me to find a taxi on Sunday morning. I found it a bit weird for this phone call and that I wouldn't be able to find a taxi in a Sunday morning, but still agreed to make an arrangement since I didn't really want to miss my flight. When I got to the airport, the meter read $226!!! Going to the same hotel from the airport was only $142! I asked if the way was different and the driver said yes. Being told by my Beijing friend that shanghai had the best taxi system in china, I didn't argue with him that much. He didn't even give me the receipt. I wouldn't have find out this whole collusion with the bellboy if I hadn't gone back to shanghai again for the next flight. I told the whole incident to another taxi driver who already told me that driving me from Puxi to pudong airport would only charge me $172. He was sure that the drive from tong Mao to pudong airport would never be $200. He said that the bellboy and the taxi driver had set up this charge for splitting the surplus. I was not too angry, as I knew tourist was always gonna be taken advantage. But if you want a comment of my experience, this is it.

My opinion of Tongmao

I came to meet an Asian beauty in Shanghai and we stayed 3 days at this hotel. I have mixed feelings about my stay. The bathroom shower leaked from the faulty shower door gasket and the floor had been broken on one corner and repaired with silicone. Not very classy. Handle on tub was also dented. If I am paying for value and quality this should not be. The Hotel advertised having an airport shuttle this was false and caused confusion for us at the airport. When I told the front desk about it they were unapologetic about an obvious contradiction in their advertisement. I have noticed in many Chinese motels that carpet cleaning does not seem to be much of a priority and when your socks get filthy from walking in your guest room this is a problem. The hotel should have provided wall adapters for electrical plugs to accommodate 120 volt western laptops and personal appliances but did not. Of all this I will highly recommend the two restaurants there at the hotel which were both very good and not too pricey. One served Cantonese style and another more traditional Chinese both were very enjoyable. All in all I would stay there again, but be forewarned about these problems you might need to speak with the front desk to make sure you don't go through this before checking in.

The hotel I would not recommend. It is not centre to anything you require especially you do not know Chinese. No goodrestaurants nearby. The hotel is not worth rating . It is very old type and need total revamping of room and services.required Less said better. Even staff are not co-operative and understanding

Right in the middle of everywhere

Didn't meet my expectation.

The hotel room had a roach the first night. The overall lighting of the hotel was dim. The room wasn't too comfy. They were very cheap on the soap. The bathroom has a glass wall which wasn't too comfy. There isn't much activity going on around the hotel. The century metro station is about ten minutes walking distance. Another one was about a seven minute walk. The English wasn't that great. I wouldn't stay at this hotel again however.

Hotel was very good value and nearish to the metro station in pudong but the internet was not working in my room! the last time i stayed with them it was working fine though.

Tong Mao

Convenient to metro and good value for the price. Cable internet only in rooms but WIFI in public areas. Quiet rooms but a/c is centrally controlled. If one wants to cool the room when central a/c is off open the window.

The room was generally well equipped and clean but the bed was very hard. It wasn't very near the metro either. Most taxi drivers are also not keen to drive back to Tong Mao Hotel from other areas, probably because they are unlikely to get passengers back. The staff was generally polite and responsive. Restaurant food were expensive and unpalatable. The spa there was fantastic though.

Shanghai Hotel

Good hotel with clean room. No wi-fi. Your lap top may not be able to plug into the wall outlet because the plug configuration. If that happens, just call down the front desk and they will loan you an adapter

Tong Mao - value for money

Hotel located inside the City area. Easy to access nearby places. Maintenance is excellent.

Tong Mao Hotel - Pudong Shanghai

A good deal for business travellers. 10 minutes to subway quiet at night only one thing to complain - you need to walk long distance to find foods.

Tong Mao Hotel Shanghai - Nice hotel good value

We stayed here for our last 2 nights in Shanghai on our 3 week trip to China. The hotel is very nice and comfortable with friendly staff. The only thing is there isn't much in the area for restaurants, just a Starbucks counter in the building across the street. The hotel does have a nice restaurant of its own otherwise everything is by taxi (taxi's in Shanghai are very cheap).

Great Hotel

The price is phenomenal and their bathroom is impeccable. Absolutely wonderful customer services. Walking distance to subway station. In hotel restaurant which is great for mid night food cravings. Overall, I had a wonderful time there.

Good Value - but too Chinese

The Tong Mao is a decent hotel. Reasonable value for money and well located for subway and shopping. The rooms are clean - comfortable bed and good shower. So if this is all you need, it's fine. If you stay longer than a couple of nights (I stayed 8 nights), you soon realise the place is geared towards Chinese business travellers rather than Westerners. Only English language TV Channel is CNN (All repect to US friends but not a view of world affairs that I share). The restaurants are poor - staff are slovenly and sullen, tables not set properly, food is cold etc. Not a hotel I would be rushing back to or recommending to colleagues and friends.

Not bad if you ok to use subway and maglev train

Clean, roomy space. Small desk and bad lighting in working area, friendly staff. Not bad stay for somebody on the business trip. far from all crowdy attactions and shoppings madness

チェックインの際、デポジットを要求されたので 1500元カードを切った。 同じ日に宿泊した姉は、 デポジットは300元だった。 なんで？？？？？？ どちらも同じカテゴリーの部屋（エグゼクティブスイートだったかな。。）で、 姉から、ホテルに、近くの部屋でと リクエストを入れていたにもかかわらず、 部屋は36階と18階。 36階はいちおうクラブフロアーとエレベーターに記載あり。 エレベーターもセキュリティ一付き。 あきらかに違うカテゴリーの部屋だった。 不便なので、同じ階に変えてもらったので、 18階にしてもらったけど、 姉の部屋はとても広くなって、快適そうだったが。 同じ値段で、同じカテゴリーを予約してるのに この差は何だ？？ さらに、チェックアウトの際、 ｢支払いは済んでます｣の一点張りで、 カードをマイナスで切ってくれない。 ？？？ デポジットの分、返してくださいよ。 宿泊代は予約時に支払い済み。 別の方に説明したら、ちゃんと返してくれましたが チェックアウト担当の子が、わかって無さすぎ。 1500元のデポジット返ってこなかったら かなりビックリですが？？？ 部屋は設備は古いものの清潔で問題なかったけど、 ソフト面で、非常に残念。 不愉快極まりない感じでした。 安いし仕方ないのかな。 お友達の家のすぐそばなので また利用するかもしれませんが、 改善してほしいです。 あと！毎朝体重測るのが習慣なのに、 部屋にスケールなかった。。 荷物の重さ測りたい人もいらっしゃるでしょうに…

출장 숙박으로 가성비 좋음

전반적으로 만족했습니다. 지하철 2호선을 탈수 있어서 다니기에는 편리했지만 체크인.아웃 할때 여행 캐리어를 끌고 다니기에는 도로도 울퉁불퉁 하고 조금 먼 감이 있었습니다. 어중간히 가까워서 택시를 콜할 수도 없었네요

깔끔하니 좋고 아쉬운 점은 지하철이랑 가깝긴한데 걸어가기엔 먼가 조금 멀었던 거리ㅋㅋ 그래도 고풍스럽고 깔끔했음

They overcharged me. I need to get refund.

I stayed 3 nights and paid for 3 night. (Mar. 25~28) when ckeck out. Later, I found out they charged 4 nights by not cancelling deposit of 1 night fee. I called to correct this but they said 'Call later, we are busy now'. It is really terrible!!

商务部穿通外边出租车及快递骗住客

跟同事一起去的,同事先走给预约去龙阳站的出租车,商务部早上打电话说没有去龙阳路的出租车,感觉一楼的商务部那几个小子就是跟出租车穿通好了骗住客钱的,今天同事告诉我去浦东机场要他450元,这不是穿通骗钱吗? 我让商务部帮忙发个快递,正常价格30,要我45,叫的中通,以前发过更重的也没有这价. 还有4星的酒店不给配雨伞,一定要在一楼扫码租雨伞,这服务太差了.以后大家不要再去住了.

适合出差

有点旧了，附近没有商场，走5分钟有一个很小的7-11和星巴克，这个星巴克周日没开……

很開心升級為套房，整體算乾淨，距離地鐵有一小段路，附近吃得不多，有機會會在入住

Hotel gut. Lage in modernen Hochhäusern , gepflegt

SAUBERES Hotel , war im 36 Stock mit herrlichem Ausblick. Frühstück ist sehr chin .aber tragbar. Wenig sauber ist der Pool - sehr alt u. nie restauriert. Zimmer top mit Bad auf dem neuesten Stand.

スイートルーム

仕事で宿泊しましたが、無料で32階のスイートルームにアップグレード頂きました。洗面所の水の流れが悪いのとWi-Fiが不安定なの以外は、景色も含め、設備も素晴らしく、清潔で良かったです。栓抜きビルと逆側で残念でした。前に普通の部屋にも泊まりましたが、そこも良かったです。あと、朝食もいろんな種類があって良かったです。地下鉄の駅がもう少し近いともっと良いですが、10分ぐらいなのでよしとします。また泊まりたいと思います。

オススメしません

フロントで言葉通じない。 1日ごとにキーカード使えない。 部屋が全体的に暗い。 ちょっと湿気の臭いが気になる。 周辺にコンビニなど飲食店もなし。 タクシーの待機なし。 フロントでタクシー呼んでもらうと、相場の倍くらい高くつく。

地點不太方便，酒店有少許殘舊，冷氣也不夠，但員工服務態度不錯。

ホテル内のレストランが独立していて、部屋につけることが出来ない。 非常に不便だった。 ホテルで車を手配したら非常に高い料金を払わされた。

比較的安い

上海の浦東新区にしては安めの普通のホテルです。コンビニや食事などには不自由しませんので宿泊する分には問題は感じませんでした。ただ、フロントで英語が通じずチェックイン/アウトともに時間が掛かってしまいました。領収書を要求しましたが、ちがう書類のコピーを渡され、正規の領収書をもらうのに少々苦労しました。中国のホテルに慣れていない人は少々戸惑うかも知れません。

お風呂に入っていると、ゴキブリが降ってきました。 2日泊まって掃除を頼みましたが、浴室まで掃除はしてくれていなかったようで、髪の毛などが残っていました。 きちんと掃除をしてほしいです。

약간 공산주의 국가 숙박 시설처럼 단촐한 느낌이 있다. 하지만 그렇다고 뭐가 부족하진 않다.

CP值還不錯!

被免費升等到行政套房，大致環境都還不錯，只是稍嫌潮濕。 依照個價格CP值還不錯!

出乎意料的住宿品質

出差住過很多中國的飯店 如果撇開五星等以上的 這間算是很不錯了!! 上下班打D方便 飯店環境安靜乾淨 光線充足設備也可以接受 唯附近小餐館不多但便利商店還有一些小樣可以買 不過我沒訂早餐 如果真要說缺點 泳池一次要100塊是真的很嚇人~

普通。仕事で使うには安くはない。

可もなく不可もなく。決して安くはないけど、上海だからしかたなし。駅からも特に近いわけでもない。近場に用事があったからここにしたけど、もうちょい安ければまた泊まってもいいかな。

陳舊的酒店

設施及房間都很舊了，保險箱有但不能用，而且居然沒有冰箱，整體給人感覺就是陳舊沒有維護。所住樓層還常發生很大聲的機械運轉聲，應該是跟空調有關。不推薦住這。

체크인 보증금이 그대로 결제되었습니다

체크아웃할 때 호텔비를 카드로 지불했는데 체크인 보증금도 그대로 결제되었습니다. 몇 주 지나서야 카드청구서에 이중 청구된 것을 발견해서 지금 hotels.com에 문의했는데 호텔 담당 직원들이 퇴근해서 내일 다시 연락해야 한답니다. 잘 해결되면 좋을 텐데 이 호텔은 다시 이용하지 못할 듯 합니다. 카드 청구서에 신경쓰지 않으시는 분들은 조심하세요.

地下鉄駅徒歩圏なので便利です

英語は取り敢えず通じますが、通じない場合もあります。　市内の案内板に『東貿』ホテルと表記されていますが、ホテルの看板には『東茂』ホテルと書いてあります。 市販のガイドブックでは地下鉄駅から15分と書いてあったり、他のサイトでは5分や7分とバラバラに表記されていますが、実際に利用し、信号の具合にもよりますが、10分程度はかかりました。いずれにせよ、地下鉄二号線の駅から徒歩圏なので便利です。
