Nice Inn would stay again
Every thing was great except no soap or shampoo.
Clean comfortable room. Very friendly and helpful staff.
Just what we neede . Clean room , quiet and comfortable.
The lady who checked us in on Friday was not very polite. She was a bit rude. The rest of the staff were not like this. The room was nice, The continental breakfast was good. We enjoyed everything on the breakfast bar except the coffee. The coffee was horrible and drinkable. They need to find another way to make decent coffee but other than the coffee and the check-in woman being rather rude, it was a nice stay. We had to drive up the road to get coffee.
Great accommodations and close enough to the different stores
We enjoyed everything about the place except tge breakfest
The room was nice and the location was excellent!!
Very clean rooms. Safe area with a lot of shopping very close.
Beware!
I get the feeling that Lodging on the Square/Berlin Heritage Inn doesn't want reservations made through hotel.com. I had to contact Berlin Heritage Inn about refunding the incidental charge of $50. The spokesperson said it was done the next day and to check with my bank. In doing so, there was no record of a credit being received. After asking Berlin Heritage Inn to make sure the correct # was used, they found it had been refunded to the booking agent's #. They did make the correction, and it now appears on my account. Although, in order to avoid this hassle, I've decided not to ever again reserve a room at Loding on the Square nor Berlin Heritage Inn. Also, I don't like that there is no staff manning a desk at Lodging on the Square.
The room had a dank musty odor. Very unpleasant.
The property is right in the downtown of Berlin, Ohio. Centrally located you can walk to most shops. The bathroom was small, but considering the cost of the room compared to other higher priced options in the area it was fine.
The rooms were nice and clean. The beds were comfortable. We had a room on the 2nd floor towards the front of the building. Road traffic was very noticable. Suggest that you request a room towards the back of the building.
Breakfast was a joke. Coffee was terrible, orange juice did not work at all. Egg muffins too old, Only thing good was tea we made ourselves. Online when I made reservation, said someone in office til 7:00pm. We checked in early, afternoon, then had to go to motel in town to get keys, then we had to leave a card for $ 50. For each room, in case of damage? We were told they would not use it unless there was a problem.
Convenience to shopping
Clean room.
Comfortable and very nice for the price paid
Surprisingly noisey overnight, continental breakfast was not good when you are surrounded by much better options. Was hoping items from local establishments would have been available.
All good but the bed was on the hard side and uncomfortable but that is a personal preference. No smart TV so can’t stream your phone or Roku. Breakfast options were great. Very busy area and traffic jams are expected. A lot of Amish on the roads with their buggies and bicycles so be very aware of them. We will stay again.
Very noisy right on highway; the truck and local traffic in morning is bad, You wont oversleep here, The inconvenience of staying in one location and checking in with a front desk a mile away is ridiculous, If they cant afford a pleasant person to operate a front desk they are in the wrong business!!!
Absolutely clean
The room was absolutely clean! The entrance door on the exterior needed cleaned as it appeared that someone had spilled their drink on it, but inside was absolutely clean & comfortable! This review has been wrote by a self- proclaimed "clean freak, germaphobe"!
Great room, loved the cleanliness and the bed
stairwells dirty
When we arrived the parking lot was full and the lady on staff at Heritage had to drive down to help us out.
Inconvenient
Very inconvenient you have to check in at a hotel across town and they dont tell you that till uou see a note on the door The room they issued us was on second floor and clear to the very front of the hotel and only about 30 feet from main road and could here every car and semi going by and was hard to get any rest If you needed any assistance you have to go back across town
Good stay
We had a good stay. It was in the heart of Amish Country. Hotel was very clean. We were able to rest and relax.
Clean
very clean nice area
It was convenient to all shops and interesting places
It was in the center of everything going on
Comfortable room.
They said breakfast included. It is truly continental. Coffee out of punch button machine. No one on site for anything. There were boiled eggs in the refrigerator. Pieces of bread individually wrapped. Sad, very sad.
The rooms are overpriced and no service. We had check in at a different location. We have stayed at this location many times and enjoyed our stay, but not this time.
Very clean & convenient to shopping & dining
Great check in at Heritage Inn. Friendly staff and continently located to shopping and food. Great weekend stay
Overall a good place to lay your head
Centrally located; good security. Breakfas unfavorable; all miicrowave options for warm food.
None Farrrr-Out
Within walking to all the shops in Berlin.
Everything great but pillows to fluffy. Only had one large bath towel. Told housekeeper but did not get a second. Other couple got locked out of room when keys did not work. Called and was told that someone would be down in 10 minutes with key. Just under an hour later, one of us walked to Heritage Zink and got key cards. We were told by the young man that there was an emergency. I told him he could have called. The lady at the desk was not informed.
Room 103 had a really musty smell. Might want to remove/replace the carpet.
Nice clean room .comfy bed.
We are both in our 70's and my husband is handicapped we had a hard time going up and down the steps. We also had two dogs with us which made it a lot of trips up and down the stairs. The breakfast was minimal. After check-in we never saw any staff. We did not ask to have our room cleaned. We left the trash and dirty towels out side our door as requested. We will not stay here agains.
Overall descent stay, but wont stay again
Room was ground level, suppose to be 2 queen beds, seemed to be 2 double beds, clean but room had a very musty smell, shower had little pressure , refrigerator was unplugged, shared same plug with hair dryer. Had to leave a day earlier because of family issue, didnt ask to be refunded, no one at the hotel to check out, had to call main other hotel that oversees this one. Plus had to put another $50. Deposit down , in case of damages which should refunded, yet never mentioned when booking
Loved the location of the hotel. One thing I would suggest is an elevator. We were on the 2nd floor. My mother who is 87 had a hard time with them. I had ask for a ground floor due to traveling with my mother. I was given an upstairs room. Traffic on the street also was noisy.
Always clean and comfortable.
Just needed for one night. Initially when we entered the room it seemed a little musty smelling. Bed was very comfortable and room worked for our need. Only thing was having to check in down the street from hotel. We had to call there when we checked out.
The continental breakfast was surprisingly good, with fresh prepackaged fruit, pastries, hard boiled eggs and egg muffins. The breakfast area was sparkling clean! The rooms are more soundproofed than most in inexpensive venues. Worth every penny!
false advertising on the breakfast
this was the second time we stayed there and the only complaint i have is when i booked the room, it said free breakfast with sausage gravy and biscuits and egg sandwiches, not true, they had it at the place we had to check in, we was not allowed to go there for breakfast.
Loved the location. Easy access to everything. Enjoyed our stay
When I opened my hotel room door, there was a strong odor. I guessed it was a chemical odor, maybe from pest control, new carpeting or furniture. The room itself was spotless!
Nice, clean, reasonable price
Just a little suggestion
The rooms were so clean, the bed super comfortable. Just one simple adjustment to management. It would be good to move the clothes and hanger area away from above the fridge and microwave. The clothes could not hang properly plus in the way if the microwave. Small detail but would be nicer. Great stay overall though
A little inconvenient to have to check in at another hotel to get to our place we stayed.
Very nice place to stay
Would stay there again
We thought it as nice and clean. We liked it very much.
Great
The carpet was stained. Refrigerator door would not close because the freezer part had ice holding it open. Defrosted the freezer and then the door would close and it worked fine.
Was clean and quiet. Bathroom way to small tho
everything was great except the breakfast. was not the best
The room was super clean and the breakfast was simple but nice.
A little musty smell
Have stayed here and the Inn and Carriage house many times. Even years ago when it was Zink's. Never been charged $50.00 for damages if occurred!!! So far my money has not been returned to card. We have never smoked or vaped. We do not even own a dog. We did no damage to the room. Apparently any agreement with Expedia is not working. Don't plan to use Expedia or this establishment again!
We so enjoyed our brief stay at this quiet inn, with shopping accessible at the front of the property and farmer's fields visible at the back. The breakfast, for simple fare, was generous, and our room was clean and comfy!
Pleasant
Check-in took a half-hour because you had one staff person for two hotels on a Friday afternoon. That's unacceptable. You needed a second person to ease the backlog.
Check in is 2 miles up the road.
Nice place to stay. Very close to everything.
Very nice, one hiccup, checkin was at a different location. It took numerous phone calls, messages, texts to get addresses, etc. Overall, very clean facility, positive overall. Would like to return!
Very clean and neat property.
Its the location we needed with plenty of room and the staff is always helpful.
We appreciate the room which was very comfortable et clean
Nice hotel, breakfast was just ok
Right in downtown Berlin and close to everything. Small but nice complimentary breakfast. Great staff.
…
Very strange experience. There is no staff at hotel. You have to check in and get your key from another hotel down the road. Very few amenities, not even an iron and couldn’t even hang clothes to keep from getting wrinkled because there were only two hangers for two people. We couldn’t even get a drink from the soda machine as it was empty. The room was clean, but would not stay again due to the expensive rate with so few amenities
Best stay of a 10 day trip. Very clean. Great bed Friendly staff
Great location in the heart of town!
We were very surprised to find that our room was in the basement (this was never mentioned when we chose the room or during the confirmation of the reservation). When we walked into the room, we were hot by a STRONG musty smell! It was so strong that we drove to a convenience store to buy room freshener, just to make it tolerable. We had to reuse the spray several times during our stay, because as soon as the spray wore off, the musty smell was back with a vengeance!! During check-in, we requested extra towels and were.told they would be brought to us.the next morning. We never got the towels. Overall a very disappointing stay.
Wish to br in the first floor instead at the 2nd level which u need to walk to the back door to go upstair. It was raining so we need to run to that diir
Convenience to shopping was great could walk . I don’t like the bathroom there’s no exhaust fan and we couldn’t figure out the tv channels other than that we liked the hotel
Loved it all
Very clean and comfortable beds
Nice place to stay
Clean and quiet it was also a great location
Terrible check in & Musty smell
Check in was terribly long. The room was ok at best with a musty smell and no way to air out as no screens on windows. Did open door for a while.
Was very clean Great continental breakfast
Basic room.
It’s your basic room, no frills. There was no literature or phone book. Towels are small. Breakfast, microwave sandwich. Muffins and sweet rolls prepackaged. Not what you expect in Amish country. Upon check in, informed they charged extra $50 a night since I did 3rd party registration. They could not print out anything on computer because they couldn’t get it to work. Very basic room.
Nice place
The place was conveniently located, nice accomodations and clean! Checking in at affiliated building down the road was not convenient, but ok. My only complaint was the mattress --way too soft with a "dip" in the middle. Couldnt sleep!
Room nice, customer service lacking
Required to Check in at another location to get keys, also in Berlin. I had booked thru Hotels.com and changed reservation from two night to one night. Even though my reservation said free cancellation, I still have to follow up with Hotels.com about not refunding full amount. A staff member called me at 5:50 a.m. the day of my check in, to confirm my reservation change. Same employee checked me in later that day. No real apologies for calling me before 6 am …. Plenty of excuses about their computer system not reflecting change received from Hotels.com. The room was clean, beds comfy. No staff onsite…. Continental breakfast not good for KETO unless you like hard boiled eggs. All carbs, otherwise. No fitness area, and rained whole time. I don’t think we will come back to Holmes County again…. Too many other great things to see in the USA
Great room close to Amish Coutry Theater.
Good move
We were booked at lodging on the square but had to pick up keys at inn She offered us to stay there which we did and best move as my survey score shows
Location is good
Great place to stay
Clean!
Nice place and greast location
What we liked was the parking was right there you could keep an eye on your vechile,,,what we didnt like was there was snow unmoved leading to our door and some ice in the parking lot in the shaded area,,,Im sure if we made a call it would have been handled properly though,,,it is a great place to stay,,,one other thing we were looking forward to orange juice in the morning and the machine was not working,,,still very satisfied with our stay and we plan on staying again in the future
Perfect and clean place to stay!
Was peaceful and staff was helpful
It was extremely clean and a great place to stay in Berlin
This place is a gem. Located right in the heart of town, it was easy to explore all that Berlin has to offer. Breakfast is typical continental fare, but there are so many other places to eat, that it’s not a problem if you want something else. The hot tub room is quiet, but is located down a narrow set of stairs, so if you have mobility issues, something to consider. The kitchenette area super convenient but note that like any other standard hotel room, it is not stocked with cooking items, and there is no cooktop. Overall, i would stay again in a heartbeat (and likely will!).
