This property is nothing like the photos. It has rubbish everywhere at the front, weeds in all planter tubs, rude people running the hotel and rooms very run-down. Do not recommend staying there.

The pictures shown for this property are at least 15 years old. The building is showing quite a bit of wear and tear. There is NO Spa/sauna. The area where the woman is lounging on the chaise is closed. The long bar sits dark and unused in a musty basement. There is no laundry. The rooms are very dated with worn out desks and dinged furniture. This location is on a busy road in between towns. There are no live flowers anywhere on the property. Overall, I found it very disappointing. On the plus side, it is very clean and the staff is friendly.

location was good... but the interior of the place lacks maint. is old, needs an infusion of money.. check in manager was very nice, but the price is high for what I got.. for less money I in other places in Austria ; got a sauna w. facilities, a decent elevator, .. the place felt old and neglected and the nice manager did not compensate, would never stay there again or rlecommend on the contrary.

Perfect location to travel to Hallstatt and Areas around with out being in the middle of the mess. Staff is amazing and helpful

Its a bit outdated, but everything was great. My room had a balcony that overlooked several peaks of the alps. The walk to town wasnt long, the road to town is 20 feet from hotel door. Several places to get food and drinks. This hotel is perfect for the Krampus parade.

One obvious fact about this property: it smells not in a pleasant way. It's a U shape building, so expect neighbors right across the building being able to look into your room. The room has a great balcony with awesome mountain view. Breakfast was bad! Very friendly and nice staff. All in all, for a price you pay, I think it worths.

Just a note today..details later...It was so bad we could not stay There was a smell permeating the whole place,,,hallways and rooms...Everything was so very run down not nice... did not match up...It waS NOT POSSIBLE FOR US TO STAY.... The hotel was very quaint. The rooms were clean and fairly spacious. The location was good and the hotel staff were very personable helpful in giving us tips for restaurants and going into Hallstatt. I would recommend the hotel to others.

Good view of the Alps. The hotel restaurant has been closed for over a month. We would have appreciated being informed this at check in or the website being updated. Overall, a very nice place to stay, the room did run very hot.

A decent enough place, obviously very old. However the place was close enough for what we wanted, which was to see the Krampus run. The free breakfast was nice, the view off the balcony was outstanding. The hotel is really nice, it just feels outdated and run down.

We have been in Austria for several days, we have visited this hotel before and we’re not disappointed. We returned here two years later and love, love the place!

Lindwurm was not worth to pay that money.Trash can was not empty and the room smelled terrible.

Just what I needed

Private balcony with Mountain View, comfortable bed, pleasant breakfast, across the street from the bus stop for the next leg of my trip. It had everything I needed.

Nice stay but can be greater on reception service

I arrived at Bad Goisern on Sunday morning and understood that the check-in time is 2pm. I planned to leave my luggage and check in at a later time. However, there was no reception service on Sunday morning - it's my first time traveling in Austria, not sure if it's the practice there. I could only wait for their staff working which was around 130pm that day. If you are travelling without driving, you may need to be aware of that. The room was nice and tidy. I like the balcony allowing me a breathe of fresh air there.

The staff was very welcoming and warm. They were very helpful in giving me some advice about things to do in and around the area.

Friendly Staff but Unacceptable Rooms for Guests

The staff were really friendly and the breakfast buffet was really good. There is a restaurant on site and you will be served with excellent customer service. However, this hotel is being renovated and for the price, it really isn't acceptable that rooms that need repair (one woman was asking why the mirror had been removed from her wall) are being given to guests. There is wood etc in the corridors waiting for the renovation, and the WiFi was not working but no one said anything to guests at check in. The absolute basics for a pleasant stay are friendly staff, a comfortable room, good WiFi and a good breakfast. This hotel offered me two out of four.

Nice Roadside Hotel with Mountain View

The hotel is along the roadside with some free parking lots in front of the hotel. The hotel has a garden, spa and indoor swimming pool. The view of the mountain is great. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The staff are friendly. Breakfast included, with dinner option of 15.00 including appetizer, main course and dessert. .

Well located stop off, okay for one night.

Traditional alpine style hotel with reasonable size double room and small balcony. Some minor maintenance issues with the shower, otherwise okay. Breakfast was a little basic, with only cold buffet items and the occasional portion of scrambled egg brought out that was snapped up before you could get to it. Located on the main road only 15 minutes from Hallstatt with lovely mountain views at the rear.

Comfortable, reasonable no-brainer

Great little mountain hotel. Don't expect a Marriott or Sheraton, but this place has its charm and serves your summer or winter stay needs well. Very friendly staff speaking fluent English helped us find what we needed. The breakfast buffet was tasty and included. The location couldn't be better either for Hallstatt or Dachstein (Ice & Mammoth Caves, skiing, or the Five Fingers observation deck). Each way you go, you will find amazing scenery and romantic corners. Reasonable price, along with the included breakfast makes this a no-brainer.

Perfect to stay near Hallstatt.

We stayed here to save money while still being able to go to nearby Hallstatt... This place worked perfectly for that! Great balcony, and they provided breakfast. Friendly staff, no frills room... But hopefully you're not coming to the Alps of Austria to sit in a hotel room. Was a long walk into the town to eat dinner, as an FYI. Still, it worked fine!

Nice View

Very nice hotel with great view from balcony. Breakfast is ok, parking spaces are limited but we could park our car.

Terribly dated

This hotel provides an adequate room. The room had many positive features - clean, nice view, large, deck, inside table and chairs. Negatives include terrible upkeep, poor WiFi, uncofortable bed, and no hair dryer.

Lovely staff and nice restaurant. Everything was great, except for the Wi-Fi which in the room continually (every few minute or so) dropped out.

Great stay, but a bit hot.

The view was wonderful and the staff were helpful. It was just a quick stay for us, and we were tired, so we didn't ask about the climate control in the room. It didn't seem like there was A/C, which made the room a bit hot in June. Again, we can't fault the hotel too much as we didn't ask whether there was a system that we somehow missed. Overall, a good experience. We appreciated the free parking and the breakfast was great.

over-priced disappointing hotel stay

My family and I stayed at this hotel for only 1 night as we were visiting the area around Halstead, Austria. The only good experience was the young lady at the check in who was friendly and most helpful. Unfortunately, the rest of the stay was less than satisfactory. We booked a quad room and the room itself was ok. There was no bar soap, no kleenix tissues and poor lighting. The hotel itself seemed run down and the room was equally in worn condition. However, the biggest disappointment was the hotel restaurant. Because of the absolute lack of restaurants in the area we were stuck with having dinner at the hotel restaurant. Yuk. It has a Mexican theme but the food was anything but Mexican. The prices were extraordinarily high and the food quality was very poor. Everything was re-heated and completely tasteless. But the bill was very high. For instance, 15 euros for 3 crappy tacos with 2 small pieces of meat in each. Yikes, what a rip off! And if dinner wasn't bad enough, the breakfast the next morning was dismal. Not much to choose from and the quality of the food they provided was not good. I have never been so disappointed in a hotel as I was in this one, and I stay at many, many hotels in my job.

Get out of the Citys and enjoy the countryside

We just stayed one night. This was a clean family run hotel in the country side. My 19 year old son loved the gummy bear pack left on his pillow. The view from the balcony was lovely. Everything was clean comfortable and seemed new. The bathroom was a hoot! It looked like it was from the 70s, but I swear it was brand new and super clean. The shower was small.

Close to Hallstatt with great view but out-dated

We stayed there for 1 night on our way to Hallstatt. It offers beautiful view from the balcony. However, the room feels quite old and out-dated. The free breakfast was okay - beverages (coffee/juice) were watered-down and pastries were dry; ham & cheese offerings were average. The bathroom was very small. Location wise, it is convenient if you are heading to Hallstatt the next day as it's 15-20 mins drive from it. The nightly rate was reasonably priced comparing to those in Hallstatt. So if you are just looking for a place to stay for the night, it's not so bad.

Room and Bathroom need to be upgraded, very disappointed.

We departed this hotel around 8:45 and it is a good time to join the Hallstatt mein tour because it's close to Hallstatt. But there is no exciting activities for visitors in spring.

The staff at the reception was very helpful when we asked them for directions of how to make our way to Hallstatt and also the arrival times of the buses in Bad Goisern.

Amazing stay has a lovly garden in back of hotel and always guaranteed a balcony really nice hotel and breakfast was delicious :)

Charming and inexpensive

We enjoyed our stay at the hotel, mostly because we booked a room with a view. The view of the mountains was just lovely - and there were two chairs on a balcony looking out. There was also a very nice walking path behind the hotel down by the river. The town itself is also quite nice. The staff was not very friendly but did everything as asked. The breakfast was included but quite basic - there is a very nice bakery in town not far away.

Better notification in English please.

Recently stayed in the hotel and had some not so happy experience, basically due to the hotel's late check in arrangement. They have a phone number you need to call if you arrive late in the evening for check in. The notice they have are a whole page in German aside from many othere things hanging on the door. In the middle of the full page German notice, their is a English word " check in", and they expect their guests to call that number... Can you please spell out " for late check in, pls call xxxxxx", or forword your business line to your cell phone? Also, can you alert your guest that there is a late check in number they can call in their reservation confirmation? Their is no fun trying to find a hotel room in a small town in the middle of night, and also paying for some room I never used.

Good hotel right on the road from St Gilgen to Hallstatt. We enjoyed our stay here and the views from the rooms were absolutely breathtaking. The breakfast was quite good too and there were great locations to travel to within a very short distance. The rooms are dated and the decor is tired but are comfortable nonetheless.

Great Environment

I thought the Lindwurm was one of the most enjoyable places I've stayed at. It is situated in the valley between mountains and offers some pretty great views, when the fog is lifted. The staff was extremely friendly and the food at the restaurant was delicious. Both for the dinner I ate in the evening and the breakfast I ate the next morning before heading to my destination of Hallstatt Salt Mines. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area. Very clean, calm and peaceful.

Hotel was very nice w/very nice staff! Great breakfast as well (with lovely German band playing & marching in the street in front of the hotel on Easter morning!) Very lovely experience!

Matig en te hoge prijs.

Schon etwas in die Jahre gekommen!

Hotel ist grundsätzlich sauber, aber die Zimmer gehören modernisiert- vor allem das Bad das noch Original aus den 70er Jahren zu sein scheint. Personal ist aber äußerst zuvorkommend und bemüht den Aufenthalt so angenehm wie möglich zu gestalten Frühstücksangebot ist gut und ausreichend. Gute Verkehrsanbindung und es sind nur knapp 10 min zur Fuss ind den Ort.

Reasonable base for Hallstatt visit (with a car)

Not far from Hallstatt. Good base for Hallstatt visit if you have a car. The owner and staff were friendly. Breakfast was nice with wide range of choice. The room was comfortable. Wifi connection was lost extremely frequently and we disappointed that. We took a plan with a dinner and there was no choice of dinner menu. We wish if there were choice even with additional cost. Though hotel room was non smoking and we sat inside in order to avoid bad smell of smoke, unfortunately the door to the terrace was widely opened and the bad smell came into the room. That was unfortunately disappointing.

Bra bemötande, hjälpsam personal med stort leende. Spa med.bastu som ingick i priset plus gratis parkering. Ingenting att klaga på, frukostbuffé var bra. Utsikten från balkongen över bergen var underbar. Jag skulle absolut definitivt komma tillbaka hit.

Wir haben uns herzlich willkommen gefühlt. Sehr nette und aufmerksame Inhaber. Reichhaltges Frühstücksbuffet. Die Zimmer sind von der Einrichtung her schon etwas in die Jahre gekommen, dafür war das Boxspringbett sehr bequem.
