Great relaxing place
Great property, friendly people, very relaxing
This resort is not worth the money. An incidental fee is charged in advance, and they don't refund it even if there is no damage to the room. If you check out early, it is impossible to get a refund for the nights not stayed. Contacting the resort by their email will get you NO response. No help by phone. We checked out a day early and are still waiting for the refund after being told it wouldn't be a problem. AC was down 3 of the 5 nights we stayed. All-inclusive was a waste of money. Limited food selection, limited hours for eating and alcohol seemed to be watered down. The swimming pool was taken over by a couple of hundred birds and you couldn't smell chlorine in the pool. Fecal matter from the birds was on all the lounge chairs. Ocean and pool side. Staff only seemed interested in serving you if you tipped them. Stay away. Don't go to the Bahamas. Most all the resorts are closed from the hurricane years ago. If you want a library quiet resort with nothing to do this is for you. NO music, NO entertainment. I will say the lady at the Golf counter was excellent and the beach was beautiful. This was suppose to be a very special trip and ended up being far from that.
I like the food
The Hotel is on a beautiful beach & located across from Port Lucaya Marketplace.
The price we paid per night was expensive compared to the services offered and the lack of variety and quality of food as well as the shortage of alcohol in the drinks.
Perfect Vacation!
Don't go by other reviews on here. There is nothing wrong with this place! For the price it's unbeatable. I guess everyone wants their resort to be exactly like Baha Mar for $3,000 a night...but want to pay only $300 a night...and then complain about it.
Food is terrible. Could not be worse.
Pros: the food is excellent and the beach is gorgeous, even on windy days that i experienced Cons: the hotel is showing its age the ATM machine was down
Other reviews have criticized the food but we found the quality excellent. The dining options are limited but we knew that it would be buffet style. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The resort is needs some TLC but most places beat by sun and salt do. We would definitely stay there again.
Liked beach and “potential” of resort. Food was very limited. Pizza restaurant was closed on Sunday and Monday. Sunday brunch was not an option for all-inclusive members. So on Sunday, only option was pay $45 for brunch or settle for pool bar limited menu. Service was very slow. Grounds need much work. WiFi was very limited. Room was clean and was best part of resort. Week stay was just “ok” but definitely not what we were expecting.
The hotel was outdated. Our room AC was not working properly it was not cooling down. Over price and you dont get enough option for dining and a small selection of food item.need some entertainment or some kind of activities. Honestly i wont stay more than 1 night there nothing for me to do there. The staff otherwise was nice and friendly.
Everyone was so nice and helpful. The food was amazing and there was plenty to do as well.
Doing very well considering the hurricanes. The staff did an amazing job.
We really enjoyed our stay at Lighthouse Pointe. Great and very quiet location with a wonderful beach. All amenities in the resort are very close . Very good service with wonderful people.Thank you for a great vacation !
Staff here are the best.
We had a wonderful stay at Lighthouse Point, The staff was great and helpful The grounds ( Beach, Pool area patios etc.) were all clean and lovely. The resort is amazing for the value you get for an all inclusive. Food was good; buffet on some days and off the menu on others. I had the best grilled Mahi Mahi ever! I believe we will be back
Everything is good but the facility looks underutilized and I heard it is owned by the government and is for sale. The staff is great and the place is kept clean with good service. They used to have Hobie Cat small sailboats. I wish they had them again.
Beautiful beach and pool. Nice rooms. Staff was amazing. Good food and great drinks. Property is well maintained. Loved our stay and will definitely come back and will recommend to others!
Excellent stay! It’s not “luxury” but it is simple and exactly what was expected. Would definitely stay again!
The food was good and staff was polite.
It was very quiet, beautiful and location
Close access to beach & very friendly staff.
Beautiful property but the all.invlusive option was pretty poor. Very few options, they closed things for private parties and left no other options for people staying there. The location was nice and clean but the all inclusive addition was a waste, save your money and go out to eat off property.
The food was really lacking. People visiting an oceanfront “retreat” want lots of seafood choices, not meatloaf, ribs, etc. breakfast was pretty much the same every day. The food was good but we were disappointed by the options.
The staff was amazing but the front desk could do much better in directing guests and informing them about all the amenities and property. The Housekeeping Crew did an excellent job. For a bit dated facility, the interior was spotless for our stay. I agree with other reviews that mentioned all inclusive being a bit confusing. I wasn't real happy about wearing a wrist band for 5 days as an all inclusive guest. Especially when they cost $100 if removed and lost. No clue what the point of signing receipts for everything is unless they track inventory. All in all, complaints are minor and the overall stay was excellent.
Amazing experience, the kids love it.
Our stay in the Bahamas was nothing short of perfection. Secluded, serene, and absolutely breathtaking, it was exactly the kind of escape we needed. From the moment we arrived, we were surrounded by crystal-clear waters, soft white sand, and the peaceful quiet that only comes from being truly away from it all. The privacy was unmatched—we felt like we had our own little slice of paradise. Whether it was lounging by the water, taking in the stunning views, or simply enjoying the tranquility, every moment was pure bliss. The accommodations were beautiful, the service was warm and welcoming, and the experience was unforgettable. If you’re looking for a getaway where you can truly unwind and disconnect, this is the place. We already can’t wait to go back!
The resort is a bit shaggy due to the depressed conditions in Freeport following Hurricane Dorene and Covid, however it's absolutely charming due to the friendly nature of the staff The surrounding area is beautiful and the beach is pristine. The fresh seafood served at the hotel and adjacent restaurants is wonderful. This was our first trip to Freeport but we will definitely be back (probably later this year) and, if so, we'll definitely stay at the Lighthouse.
Nicest place to stay in this area as it is right on the beach.
We had a great time. The resort is older but still nice. Food was great and staff was phenomenal. We will definitely return.
Very nice relaxed atmosphere. Staff was amazing. Could use a better dining experience or more variety.
Was amazing experience!!!! We as a family we enjoyed!!!
spectacular hotel, wonderful beach, impeccable service
Relaxation
Beautiful views, very chilled. Friendly staff
Great location and beach
The pool and beach are amazing
I enjoy my stayed
Great beach access, good value overall. Staff was very friendly. Concierge was very very helpful. Problem with ATM on property and "security" person who blamed the guests for it not working properly.
The staff was very accommodating and polite. I enjoyed the activities that the resort had to offer as well as the local foods and shops. I highly recommend this location and I cannot wait to come back.
This place should have 5 stars! Don’t listen to the negative reviews. The staff are always friendly and accommodating. We got our toothpaste confiscated by TSA and a horrible layover delay. The start behind the counter provided us with toothpaste at our door before we even finished checking in. The food was fresh and different every night for dinner. The resort itself is quiet and empty to my preference. Since the sun sets around 5:30 in December, by the time you shower and eat dinner, depending on how long that takes, there is not much happening in terms of night life. There was one night of karaoke which was fun. If you prefer a lively resort at night, look elsewhere. If you want to relax then this is the right choice. I would come back for a relaxing quick stay any time.
Very relaxing
One of the best place for vacation and quiet and the food was the best they have so much of different variety of food from breakfast, lunch and dinner was my favorite. The staff was amazing and very helpful with everything we needed because we travel as a group of 5 adults.
The hotel staff were all really nice and accommodating. All that i interacted with were lovely and willing to help.
Great views and good food and service
There were 4 of us in my party and we all agreed there was nothing bad to say about our stay. The property was beautiful and the staff went above and beyond. Every staff member we encountered made us feel welcomed and were great fun to be around. Food was excellent as well!! Would definitely go back again.
The rooms had a strong mildew smell and felt super humid and were outdated. The A/C in the room wasn’t working properly so you either froze or felt super humid that even the carpet felt wet. Beautiful beach and pool area despite the birds pooping in the pool. Some staff was not friendly and felt like it was a chore for them to wait on you but there were also great bartenders like “Alicia” she was amazing. The spa was mildew ridden we couldn’t tolerate even walking by there to get to the gym. There was 1 restaurants which only opened for breakfast and dinner. Lunch can be ordered by the pool bar or pizza. The elevator only worked the first day and we were on the third floor so every time had to climb steps, including when we checked out a day earlier than planned with our suitcases. There’s absolutely no nightlife or entertainment only a day DJ. Toward the end of our stay we found out the resort was sold.
Front desk clerk and manager were incompetent at finding our reservation or a solution for over 20 minutes. We had to request refund and book a hotel elsewhere.
Rooms nice, food horrible was served spoiled sauce twice, chef Dwain Claire was extremely rude instead of taking the criticism and trying to doing better, the last day we took off the all inclusive package‼️‼️ the food was deplorable.
The property was mostly empty due to the off-season. THe staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were dated, but very clean and well maintained. THe only complaint was that both elevators were out in our building, so we had to walk up stairs and carry our luggage out of our room. The food options were extremely limited - really just one choice of resturant per meal, but the food was decent for an all-inclusive. We would go again.
Staff
The staff at the Waves beach bar were rude. They literally chased me down after I asked for 2 diet cokes and questioned me if I was getting drinks for staff. They make you sign for everything even though it’s all inclusive. None of the restaurants were open and you could only get lunch from the beach bar. Our keys to room never worked and our air conditioning went out (they did move us to a new room). The food choices at Buffett were not great. The pictures show paddle boards and other items available at the beach but there was nothing out. But by far my biggest complaint was the staff and manager at the beach bar. They acted like it was such a big deal for them to get u a drink or food even though there was no other choice for lunch! Security officers were great and super friendly. Front desk people were awesome.
Property easy access to pool, beach and ocean.
Staff were very friendly and kind-hearted. Thank you for making my autistic son’s birthday extra special! I truly appreciate it!
The property was amazing clean people and staff where very pleasant and nice
Overall the resort is nice, the beach and the pool are amazing. Only the food not so many choices almost same food every day. And the service can be little bit better.
The location and amenities. It's the people that make it very special.
A group of 12 traveled with me from Louisiana thinking all inclusive. Well, unfortunately everything we wanted was limited and no alcoholic drinks we drink (Hennessy, vodka, etc) was included in all inclusive we had to pay $18 a cup for alcoholic beverages we drink. I don’t think it should have been that way. We were under the impression everything was included.
Details
When we first arrived the storm had knocked the power out but eventually it came back on. In our room one light was not working. When we thought it was all inclusive for everything, it wasn’t. All inclusive was only for one side apparently and not for any club on resort. All top self liquor was not included in all in clubs I’ve package so if you want Tito’s, jack Daniel’s, etc you had to pay. There was this nice restaurant off the resort but ofc it wasn’t included in the package as well so you had to pay. The stay was nice and we had a great time but I guess it’s who you go with also. The only thing was there wasn’t a lot of activities and the side we was on was so dead not a lot of people until the week days came .
Worst service ever
Poor service: staff take too long to take your order and they don’t even take them correctly. I believe they need more training. Need to have a variety of food. Every thing was fried. A lot of junk food, nothing really healthy. They only offered fish once in my 5 nights. Kids didn’t like spicy food. Beach was awesome and pool’s view was wonderful. Room size and cleanliness was great.
Great location with a beautiful oceanview. We were pleasantly surprised with the all inclusive option since they had a main dining room, pizza place, lobby bar and poolside snack bar. Our room was clean and the AC very cold. It was quiet for 4th of July weekend, but we were happy that the pool and beach weren’t crowded. We would definitely stay there again.
Hotel is old, one side is falling down. Rooms are clean. Beach is beautiful. Service, food and drinks not very good.
Very friendly staff !! Beautiful view.
This was one of the most interesting beach resorts I’ve stayed in. The pros: the amazing beach with white sand and clear water, infinity pool and lap pool, good food at the buffet, the free kayaking, and some very friendly staff. The cons: the hotel is a little worn down, there isn’t a lot to do around the resort, the food at the beach bar isn’t great, and some of the folks on staff could be a little short — not rude but not friendly either. Pro/con: there was hardly anyone at this resort! At times it was great because it offered a lot of quiet and seclusion, but it also would have been nice to have more people to meet — since it was a solo trip for me. The larger resort next to it is also totally shut down, so it gives post apocalypse vibes too lol. Overall, this is a good, quiet resort with a great beach, however it’s showing its age and it’s evident that the area has seen better days.
Overall a very good experience. The staff was great and I felt that everyone from front desk to concierge to room attendants were exceptional. Food was also solid for an all inclusive resort. The rooms could use a bit of a touch up with fresh paint and new carpets. Pool and beach area are quiet and relaxing. For the first few days we really felt like we had our own private beach.
Beautiful
This place is FABULOUS! To anyone who's never been here before you are in for a spectacular experience. when we stepped on the property, It was more than we had ever expected and more. The beaches are phenomenal. Very white sands. The water is gorgeous, clear, and warm. And the pool is immaculate. The Jacuzzi is fabulous late night. They have kayaks and paddle boards available for use. And the food is extraordinary, delicious, so fresh and the chef will accommodate most special requests. Last but not least we have to mention the wonderful staff here at this resort. We were treated like Kings and Queens. I have traveled a lot and have never come across a friendlier, happier, most respectful and helpful staff. Everything and anything we needed was taken care of swiftly and we were always checked up on. We stayed 9 days but never wanted to leave. We are definitely coming back- soon gang, thanks to all of you: floyd, candera bernard angie bobbie kevin cadeisha keenan alicia alphanza marion raphael Love from Debbie And Karen
Stay Away: A Hotel from Hell If I could give this hotel zero stars, I would. My recent stay at Lighthouse Pointe at Grand Lucayan Resort was an absolute nightmare, and I wouldn't wish it upon my worst enemy. Let's start with the rooms. We booked three rooms for our group, and each one was a disaster in its own right. In the first room, we were greeted by a half-naked man who seemed just as surprised to see us as we were to see him. It was a clear violation of privacy and left us feeling incredibly uncomfortable. In the second room, the air conditioning and shower were both non-functional. We might as well have been sleeping in a sauna, and the bathroom experience was like standing under a faucet stuck on scalding hot, with no relief in sight. And as if that weren't enough, we encountered the same issues in another room. It was like playing a cruel game of musical chairs with our accommodations. But the pièce de résistance? A cockroach. Yes, you read that correctly. One of the rooms was infested with cockroaches, and despite multiple complaints to the cleaning staff, they left the unwelcome guest to roam freely throughout our entire stay. It was utterly disgusting and unacceptable. And let's not forget about the all-inclusive debacle. This hotel advertised itself as "all-inclusive," but in reality, there were only three sad excuses for meals available, each lacking any semblance of flavor. It was like eating cardboard with a side of disappointment.
In 3 nights we have 4 rooms , every thing is broken
Floyd and Moose made our trip. The whole staff was amazing! Definitely going back soon!
It was a beautiful facility, great staff and a much needed relaxed getaway. Also enjoyed meeting the friendly locals at the market.
It is a beautiful hotel.
The people that work there were the nicest ever!
Great service by all employees
The property was very good. They have adjacent buildings that were not open due to the hurricane back in 2019. Dining was limited.
Staff was very friendly. Food choices were good.
very nice ocean view, pool, grounds. very quiet and relaxing. The staff was very helpful and friendly. We plan to return here later this year.
This “All inclusive” hotel is a waste of time and money. Same menu for the 4 days ! Mattresses quality terrible ! Air conditioning set to a specific temperature that can’t be change. Pastries from bakery “old” and the liquor terrible. Have of the hotel rooms still with signs of the storm ! Not recommended at all. Staff was nice at least and very friendly!
Overall ok Buffet choices needs to be different every day! Dinner buffet was exactly the same every night and breakfast choices were exactly the same every morning, not even a tray different day to day!
Very limited dining. For the all inclusive price we paid there wasn't any food choices. Pretty much same food choices every day all week long. Huge disappointment. No night life. The pool was beautiful, but the water was cold, so nobody was using it. Staff was friendly. The gym area was great.
Absolutely wonderful experience. Entire staff was friendly and courteous. Food was excellent. Area was quiet clean and safe I’ll go back next year
The worst feeling ever is asking the front desk person if my credit card information she photocopied is secured and she looks me dead in the eyes and says …. I didn’t copy your card … after watching her walk into the side room and watch her through the glass in the door photocopying my card !!!!!!! The trust was broken after that because why lie about it !!
The Grand Lucayan Bahamas's Resort was above my family expectations. Day 1 to Day 7 it was truly a gift to meet and learn all the hosts and the people of Freeport. With beautiful beaches to beautiful smiles. This blows away Nassau Area of Operation. You looking for quite yet adventure without so much westernized living then Freeport is the gem hidden away. Food awesome, resort room awesome, and the beach beautiful. It felt exclusive. Coming back with an extended family in a year.
everthing was amazing the atmosphere the people and the food
We traveled as a family of 13 this was our 2nd year in a row visiting the same exact time there was a difference in the 2 experiences. This trip was all inclusive in the past the mimosas for breakfast was included in the all inclusive package this year we were charged $10 per mimosa. There was no New Year celebration on property this year. TVs at the bar did not work there was no community tv available to enjoy the bar and watch football. We asked management if they would keep the outdoor TV on at the bar to accommodate the people on the property that wanted to watch the football game. We were told no. There is no food available after 9:30. After our first visit we had planned for this to be an annual family vacation after this years experience it will be our last trip.
Everyone and everything was top notch- but I didn’t enjoy the loud DJ music that played daily from 10am to around 5pm. It would have been better to play from 12-3 ish so that the beautiful sounds of the water and the peace of the island could be experienced once over the 7 days stay.
Had a great time. Was able to relax and slow down - destress. Would have liked to have more variety of seafood served.
The hotel itself is pleasant, but a little behind on maintenance. The first room we were given did not have working AC and was unbearably hot (even in November), same again for the second. The third room was great though! All the rooms were a decent size with comfortable beds, large wardrobes and pleasant bathrooms. Staff throughout were friendly and attentive. The hotel area, pool and beach are nice but the beach is not cleaned and there was plenty of seaweed and rubbish on it, not terrible, but not the paradise shown in the photos. Lots of surrounding buildings are damaged or derelict, although this does not detract from the hotel too much. Food in the restaurants was so-so (all inclusive package) - it was all buffet and the menu options were unavailable. We felt the buffets were a bit hit and miss both for Breakfast and dinner. Between these times there is a snack bar, very limited cafe and a pizza restaurant (pizza restaurant was good). The hotel welcomes cruise ship passengers on day passes, so be aware that some days will suddenly be much busier around the pool/bar.
The lighthouse point is like a secluded island in itself. The staff is very hospitable and friendly. This is a business trip; however the next time I visit it will be with family.
Me gusto el lugar en cuanto a su piscina y playa. No me gusto que el todo incluido es muy limitado y basico. Las opciones de almuerzo son bastante pobres. Si no te importa la variedad en la comida este es el lugar para ti con playas increibles.
Great beach and food. Needs more night activities.
very close to the beach
Rooms bad smell, not clean, poor variety of food, awful service
Very bad
Very friendly staff. Dining, snack and gift options are very limited but the options that they do have are prepared well. Good stay and enjoyable time overall.
Very enjoyable stay with the family.
Ants on food, no AC in July, no compensation.
We arrived early and were told we had to wait until 3pm to check in so we did. At 3pm we were told our room was still not ready. We waited until 3:45pm and the room was still not ready. I requested they find us a different room that was ready which they were able to do. When we entered the room, it was very hot and incredibly humid (this is coming from someone who had lived in Florida her while life). A dehumidifier was in the room but not running. After emptying the water, the dehumidifier started to work and we turned the AC all the way down just to get it bearable in the room. On the second evening of our stay at 10PM, the power flickered from a storm. When it came back on, the AC and hot water did not work. As of 3PM the following day, the AC and hot water in the entire resort still did not work, they did not know why, and could not give an ETA for repair. No AC, in July, in the Bahamas. The all-inclusive only includes one beer option and low no-named liquor. The bar closes very early and only one is open at any given time. The restaurants are typical lower end buffet food; however, the morning after the power went out, the breakfast buffet had sugar ants all over the food. I notified the staff who proceeded to leave the food there as other guests went to eat from it unknowingly. It wasn't until I notified a different wait staff member that they removed food where the ants were. Only compensation was to refund the nights we did not stay after leaving for another hotel.
The food was not good at all. No room service, no activities at night either.

Property next too market. Staff made you feel like family. Different varieties of food daily. Wavy poolside food was awesome. Awesome hamburgers made to order. Pizza bar was also awesome. We fell in love with the resort..Thanks for a awesome anniversary vacation.
