The best place to stay in zanzibar, the staff are so kind and helpful
Stunning hotel, beautiful rooms overlooking the ocean. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Plenty to do from the hotel. Gym facility is great. Pool area is beautiful. Couldn’t recommend more!
Customer care exceeded our expectations.
Lasting Impact of a First Impression! It Matters!
My initial check-in process ruined my trip so much that I had to write Mariott International. It was after hours. During check-in, Chetzi was rude. There was no exchange of pleasantries or anything you'd expect at check-in to a hotel. In no way did he ask how we were doing. Our passports were requested. Begrudgingly, he pointed in the direction of things at the property without showing us or offering to show us later during our stay, His speech was very low & he was speeding through it. My friend sat further away and asked if there was a gym. He replied, "I already said that". His speech was low, how could she hear? I tapped my card to pay, but it was denied. His response was immediate. As if there were no other options. After a brief awkward pause, I asked, would you like to try it again? After painstakingly entering it into the wireless terminal again, it worked. As a result of his behavior & disposition, I was extremely dissatisfied. It's like he didn't realize we had traveled a long way. There was no "try again, maybe there's a technical problem, "do you have a backup card?" or "Did you notify your bank that you were traveling? " There was an issue of either a technical or user issue, but his final response was "Denied." As if he was insinuating that we should leave. I told his leadership that, and I presumed it would resolve the issue. However, Chetzi ignored our calls from the room. Even when there was an emergency. Due to that initial exchange, we did not feel welcomed
This was the best experience ever ,the hotel is sooo clean, the staff and services at the hotel were amazing. I will definitely come back to this hotel when l visit Zanzibar again .
Exceptional ocean view from our balcony. Lovely villa, great food & attentive service. Highly recommended...
Check in we had lot of time. About 3:30 pm checking done and we want to room. Rooms was not available till 3:30 as our check in time was 2
Few dining options, friendly staff but at busy times, we waited a long time for service.
Beautiful property and great staffs
Exceptional experience in every way.
We enjoyed our stay at the Le Mersenne and loved the detail and design of the room. Well appointed. The service was great, location is close to Paje Beach and the Treehouse Restaurant but also far from Stone Town and other popular beaches so plan to either book a driver or rent a car. We booked a scooter thru the hotel and traveled to Paje. DJ played great music at the hotel. We loved the vibe! With that said, a few things to be noted … Limited food options and we grew bored of the pricey options by day 2. The hotel is gorgeous but not as well kept as I prefer. Caulking issues, small wear and tear throughout. For the price and all the extras — tub facing the ocean, soak pool on deck, spacious amenities and great service … I was very pleased with my stay. The stickler in me loosened a bit and enjoyed myself truly.
Very quiet property, pleasant staff. Rooms were clean with breathtaking views of the Indian Ocean. Not walkable to many things , would recommend renting a car as taxis can be a bit pricey. But it is very easy for the hotel to drop you off and pick you up . Would recommend if you need some peace and quiet .

The staff were excellent, they made us feel at home. The food was very good, the rooms are neat, clean and modern. It was a very nice experience. I definitely recommend Le Mersenne.
The hotel is beautiful, magical even. Very relaxing and the dinning staff and food options were amazing. I had a few terrible experiences with the female front desk attendant Kadogo. We checked in our room and was little tired so wanted to order room service but the phone did not work, i called whattsapp number informed them about phone issues and i was told someone would come to fix, no one did. Our last night we wanted to clear up our bill in advance and request airport taxi. We we tried to contact our driver who brought us to the resort but was unable to, My husband and I approached kadogo, asking to settle our balance and to request the taxi, her attitude towards us was just completely confusing and disrespectful, after getting our final bill my taxi finally contacted me so I asked kadogo to remove that from the balance she was visibly upset she told us this is an issue because now she would have to explain to her manager that we canceled the taxi request, she gave us a complete lecture with a nasty attitude. At exactly 7:23am i called the front desk spoke with Kadogo requesting a cart to bring our luggage to the front desk by 8am, she didn't send anyone to get our stuff, my husband and I hauled our luggage ourselves from our room that was farther away. i got to the desk and asked why no one came to help. Kadogo told us everyone was busy helping other guests. She then told me i have to settle the balance i previously settled the night before for tax.
