This was my third time to stay at this property. The experience this time was not as great!
Everything was Amazing!! Shout out to Teddy and Rhoda!!
Perfect
Excellent
great customer service and that they provided a driver to drive me around, and to and from the airport.
safety
Latitude 13 is a great destination for a stay in Lilongwe. It is a lovely part of Lilongwe and the rooms are comfortable. The restaurant has a great range of delights. I did find the serves rather large so you will not go hungry. I will definitely return if I am back in Lilongwe.
Nice employees
Really nice employees. I appreciated their willingness to let me leave my huge suitcase at Latitude for two nights while I was away (I came back to Latitude for the rest of the week after that).

Our stay was amazing
The place is very beautiful and the pictures are representative. The minus are the prices in the restaurant (quite high - other restaurants in the area are as good if not better for half the price) and part of the staff who are often despondent, uninterested. Safe and quiet area.
We liked that it was very private, quiet and clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They made sure we had everything we needed. The food was incredible! We ate so well during our stay there. The spa was fantastic and the gym was well equipped. I would recommend this hotel to everyone.
Very quiet and comfortable with excellent restaurant
Best hotel in Lilongwe.
The rooms were not properly cleaned
Very convinient
Nicely appointed property with pleasant staff, reliable power and Internet
This is one of my favourite hotels . Great peaceful atmosphere to relax. Friendly staff and spacious unusual style rooms
The place is clean and they serve very delicious food
When I arrived with a confirmed reservation from Expedia, I was told there was no more room at the inn. That's it. Sorry, we don't have a room. I was told that somehow my reservation with Expedia did not "come through" despite having the confirmation in hand. My driver had left by that point, so after a long day of travel and no luggage, I was just left standing there with a reservation in hand and no place to stay. Finally my colleague had the good sense to ask them to make me a reservation elsewhere and transport me for free. They tried to make me a reservation at a "cheaper" nearby hotel that I knew nothing about. I declined and asked for the Sunbird, where I have stayed before and at least I know. They called their driver and did not tell him the ride was on the house. When he dropped me off, he asked me to pay, which I also declined, but did tip him. I am unhappy that they shrugged off a reservation and made NO effort to find me a room at their own hotel or elsewhere. You'd think they would have a protocol for when they screw up like this. The manager was less help than the original staff member. Very officious at letting me know that nope - no rooms, and yup - that is a legit reservation. So who gets the 0 - Expedia or this place?
The hotel is supposed to have a "French ambiance" as it has lots of old, rusty metal furniture pieces, mismatched chairs, etc. It probably had its better days, but those days are long gone 😞 We had a 2-bdr apartment... Shower doesn’t drain, leaking downstairs, massive mold and dry rot issues, kitchen cabinets don't open (no knobs). The swimming pool area is open to non-guests. The bedding was good. An ok restaurant. This was the worst hotel among our 28 different hotels/lodges in southern Africa.
Excellent dining experience and the apartment is lovely. Worth it…
The place is beautiful and well maintaibed. They pay attention to detail in every way. The staff is courteous and the food is excellent. It has a cosy intimate feel.
Malawi stay
Latitude 13 was a nice location and hotel compared to majority of the hotels in Malawi. The service was great, staff is very friendly and accommodating. The was a leak in my bathroom though.
Excellent stay, for the second time. The food is great and they accommodated my requests. Front desk staff is courteous, helpful, and readily available.
Gardens, food and service excellent. Junior suites rather 70's and health and safety not good on planking floors on deck and lack of hand rail on stairs. Water brown coming out of taps and smells strongly of rust
Absolutely amazing experience
Great atmosphere. Good food. No assistance with luggage from car parking lot to registration
Felling at home in Lilongwe
Very good hotel, with great bedrooms which makes you feel that you are not simply inside 4 walls when staying away from home. The surrounding garden and common spaces are great and very well taken care. Bed is comfortable, with mosquito net in case needed. The service is excellent ! The only less positive aspect is the fact that the curtains on the bedroom do not totally black out. Considering that in some periods of the year the sun rises very early and if you have any issues with some light when sleeping you may need to find other strategies such as eye-cover. Overall the hotel and the service are great !
This is an excellent hotel where you can relax and feel safe in a peaceful atmosphere. The staff are polite and helpful and the food is good. They have 2 swimming pools and a gym and spa. The rooms are very unique and different from a normal hotel and all are bespoke. My only concern here is that the pool is very cold and also is not cleaned properly and also the suites have stairs which in my opinion I do not consider to be safe with only one rail and a sheer drop the other side ! Would not pass health and safety regulations in my country. But overall I love this hotel and will definitely be returning again. Would highly recommend it to those looking for a place to relax. If hotel can address these small concerns it could become even more excellent.
Ok
A slice of lush, green heaven in a dusty African city. Perfect for the high-maintenance traveler who needs modern luxuries and good design, or anyone who needs a break from the heat & exhaust fumes of the city.
Absolutely gorgeous heavenly OASIS in the middle of a bustling African city. I honestly didn't want to leave. Great decor, fabulous staff (Winnie at the front desk is phenomenal) and great food. Great music by the pool on Sunday too. I'm here for work but it felt like a holiday.
Great relaxing stay
Stayed here for only one night and it was lovely. I had a garden room suite which was exceptional in both decor and comfort. The amenities were excellent. I utilised the gym which is small but adequate although the one treadmill they have wasn't working. The breakfast and dinner were also very good. Only negative was the price of the drinks which I found to be very very expensive. Otherwise would definitely recommend
Amazing hotel
I stayed there for business trip! Perfect hotel with a lot of charm. Swimming pool and everything you need! The breakfast is also very good! I highly recommended it.
A haven in the city
A wonderful retreat that is truly 5 star in so many respects. Attentive service, delicious food and stylish decor. Made use of the modern gym and x2 pools. The one wrinkle is the shower in the room. Pressure was very high (almost painful) and the rusty style of the shower made the water (or shower not sure which) smell coppery for the first few minutes. Otherwise a perfect stay.
Hot water was spotty and heat took forever to turn on. My transport to the hotel was over a half hour late and the staff was not very helpful in ensuring I made it to my flight on time. This hotel was not worth the cost
Definitely coming back again..
Beautiful art and set up , lovely space pleasure to be with
Beautiful, excellent service, amazing style!
I love the decor of the hotel and the service is excellent. Restaurant is the best in Lilongwe. I want to give everything five stars, but the design of the suites isn’t the best. The decor is amazing and aesthetically it is amazing- so beautiful to look at. My main concern is the weak floorboards and slightly scary steps up to the second floor. The entire second floor gives you the feeling of being in an old barn loft- beautiful, but comes with the feeling that you might just fall through. Additionally, the metal cabinet is aesthetically awesome- but makes so much noise when you walk due to the floor boards being so sensitive. The bathroom is beautifully done and toiletries smell great! I think that if renovations were done they should focus on a more stable.... flooring option! Otherwise, what a lovely beautiful space.
Very nice hotel - personal but nice atmosphere Apartment room I had by pool was very good Stylish decor
Very comfortable, suggest to book transportation from the airport in advance via the hotel
A quiet sanctuary for business travelers
I have stayed at Latitudes 13 on four separate occasions. I have always been happy with the service, food and general condition of the property. Rooms are spacious and the internet is solid.
A very sleek and stylish hotel with a lovely restaurant and pool. Staff were great. It had a slightly sterile/corporate feel and there were a lot of Westerners compared to the other places we stayed in Malawi. But it was a very comfortable place to get a decent night's sleep (and an excellent meal) before our flight home.
Nice boutique hotel, some drawbacks
This is a very nice boutique hotel, comfortable with a nice garden and pool, and a pretty good restaurant. Every room has a balcony. Not great for business travelers as the rooms have no desk. Its also not very safe for families with small children and/or the elderly/infirm, as the rooms are 2 levels with a pretty flimsy railing around the stairway, but overall the ambiance and facilities are very nice for anyone from the age of 10-65. If you stay here, have lunch at the Lark Cafe which is in walking distance and has very good food and a nice garden setting.
Long term business stay
Easily the best place to stay in Lilongwe. Highly recommend for all business travelers.
Beautiful hotel with amazing decor
Latitude 13 is an outstanding hotel. The property itself is beautiful with a strong set of ammenities. The pool area is great to hang out in and has great lounge seats. The rooms are 2 floors with a massive common area and a second bedroom. Definitely big enough for a family of 4. Also they have a small kitchenette. The restuarant is a bit expensive but the included breakfast is great. The decor is also stunning and very unique. Definitely feels like an amazing boutique hotel. Only criticism is that the gym is a bit small but for lilongwe it is great. Many expats come to the gym to use as their primary one. I would stay again in a heartbeat
Best place to stay in Lilongwe - made our trp enjoyable. The mechanical artwork throughout was very artistic & unusual. The restaurant was packed at night & obviously the place to be. would not stay at anywhere else if you value comfort and action
Roomy, comfortable, pleasant place to stay.
We got spoilt after three nights in our mini-apartment, with all the space. The location in Lilongwe is great too; a quiet and mostly-safe neighborhood (keep in mind that, like any location in Lilongwe, it helps a lot to have a car, as public transport is either awful (minibuses), totally impractical (bicycle "taxis"), or insanely expensive (regular taxis). The food at the restaurant is good, though the selection is a bit limited if you stay more than a couple of nights.
