My boyfriend and I went to Canmore for a weekend, it was our first time staying there so I didn't overly know a good spot to stay at. We chose this hotel because it had the best prices in the area for a 1 night stay. It was honestly in the perfect area, walking distance from multiple walking trails, restaurants, pubs, and downtown like stores. A couple downfalls about the hotel, the toilet in our room was not scrubbed inside the bowl at all, the shower was not draining after taking a shower, and the hot tub was very dirty and had a build up of dead skin on the edge of the tub, which bummed my partner and I as we specifically booked a hotel that had a hot tub. Despite the downfalls, I would stay there again! The rooms were super cozy and clean (minus our bathroom) and the view was very beautiful.

Good location. Room is clean. On the negative, the facility buildings are older and not sound proof so very easy to hear occupants in the room above mine walking around.

A gem in Canmore

The Lamphouse by Basecamp was quite the surprise, as we were not expecting such a lovely hotel for such a reasonable cost. The room we had was spacious, clean, and well-designed, with modern touches and amenities. We were so pleased with the beautiful bathroom and large shower. It was easy to check in, as everything was done online, and shortly before our arrival, we were given a code to enter our room without ever having to go to a front desk. The location of this hotel is also ideal, at one end of the downtown shopping area plus steps away from the river. Such a pleasant hotel!

Convenient

Great spot in Canmore. The coffee at the coffee shop was amazing and a great location in town. My only complaint is the door code that was given to me didn’t work. I had to go get a key at the front desk. Small problem. Great stay.

A great location if you are looking to be central in Canmore with restaurants, bars and shops in close walking proximity. The room was modern, clean and comfy. All that you really need!

Easy check-in no hassle. Cozy and clean room with espresso which was excellent. Amazing views of the mountains and close walking distance to downtown Canmore. My partner and I loved it and will be coming back.

This is a great place to stay, excellent location, very convenient to many services, restaurants, and shopping. The only complaint is that there is a sign by the door, requesting tips for the cleaning staff when you check in. I thought asking for tips on arrival was a bit excessive, but the management rep replied to my concerns very quickly and I appreciate their prompt response

Front desk staff was very polite and helpful, but it was a very big bummer to not be able to use the hot tub. Other properties in the area, that I have stayed at in the last few days, with similar hot tubs and outdoor temperatures, did not shut down. Also, I did not touch the alarm clock in the room, but it started going off and was very loud and very bright, and was before 6am! It was obnoxious, and I could not fall back asleep, definitely not ideal for a vacation. Everything else about the stay was good. I enjoyed the location, the views, the staffing, and the room itself.

A great choice for Canmore

Nice cozy place in an excellent location, right on the main street. It’s actually a motel, so you can park right outside your door. Hot tub was open during our stay, and has great views of the mountains. Great responsive service.

Very good value, love the contactless check in and and check out. Outdoor hot tub was amazing even during winter. Modern property in prime walking distance to main street Canmore. Highly recommend.

Clean , quiet and close to amenities

Solid, clean, looks well cared for. I'm not sure why there is no exhaust fan in the washroom but the accumulated humidity could cause mold problems over time if they don't have some other way they are dealing with that

Nice property, great location. Room was fairly clean - did find some hair on the bathroom floor - and had some nice amenities. No housekeeping unless you ask for it. Staff was responsive and helpful!

Its a good motel rather than a hotel overall for value moneywise its good area around the motel is great alot of dine in options

Its renovated hotel with a hot tub, very nice and clean, comfy bed.

Another great stay at Lamphouse. My go to for staying in Canmore. Grizzly Paw Brewery is almost next door.

Everything was great overall. The only issue was that we rented this unit solely for the hot tub and it wasn’t working, so that was disappointing. That said, everything else was awesome.

Decent basic hotel right on Canmore‘s Main Street

The hotel has been recently renovated. Comfortable beds, good pillows. Unfortunately, many of the items in the room didn’t work. We got the room basically as a place to stay and sleep. The fact that the number of items didn’t work didn’t really affect us. Our sleep was excellent. Management was quite responsive to our comments and we expect that everything will be back in order by the time the next guest gets there.

Access and walkability to downtown Canmore is terrific. Bang for the buck a nice place to stay if you want to check out Canmore.

Excellent value

Excellent property with a great location. Plenty of restaurants and interesting shops. The rooms are neat and newly renovated. The only thing I would say is that room was very hot and stuffy. We stayed in winter and had the thermostats set to zero and we could have used fans and had to open the window to get some airflow.

Hot tub not working!!!!! Especially went for it, not worth the cost

Planning a trip to Canmore? Stay at Lamp House! Perfect location right in downtown, walking distance to everything! But if you need total silence, this might not be your vibe.

So we booked three main king size rooms here. Unfortunately when we reached the room key code didn't work in any of the room, while standing out in cold we had to get the room keys, room was clean but no water bottles, only a self serve machine which doesn't work, toilet flush keeps on going throughout the night and to top it all, the only attraction of this property was outside hot tub which was not working again. Will never return back here.

Great affordable place to stay but frustrating check in process. I was sent my reservation info to the wrong email and wasn’t able to check in for hours.

Always our favourite place

Always one of our favourite places. First time taking our dog as the room is pet friendly. However, on night one the dog must have got scared and was able to open the door and was later found by the amazing people in Canmore. But our door remained open for 2 hours as the door does not close on its own- thank goodness the room wasn’t robbed as my surprise engagement ring was still undelivered and in the room. We tried to problem solve with the Lamphouse team however they were unable to provide a key to lock the deadbolt at the time. I think if pets are allowed it would be helpful for peace of mind for owners to know the door is secure when their pet is inside, especially since it may be unfamiliar surroundings and noises for the animal. We really love the lamphouse and frequent it often but might have to reconsider in the future if we need to bring our pet knowing the door can be opened easily and the door does not shut on its own. Thank you.

Regular spot to stay for me

Very clean, easy check in and out. It stunk that the hot tub was closed for my 4 night stay. Got an update every two days saying it was closed. Never got an indication if it was a quick repair or out of service indefinitely. Great spot and I have stayed there countless times.

Late to be informed hot tub out of service, heating unit super noisy through the night, door wouldn’t open last night after we had been out for dinner, thank fully the office was staffed. Will not be returning

Night in the Mountains!

Overall the hotel is in a great location; the room was very clean. One major thing to note: We were really looking forward to using the Hot Tub but got a message the day of check in that it was out of order, it looks like its been out of order for awhile by the way the sign on the door looks. Just wish this indicated upon booking the hotel so we could have made other arrangements etc.... Also, they had no ice in the ice machine, not a huge deal... just something to note. Otherwise we really enjoyed our stay and feel the room was very clean and well maintained.

Great location for a great price! Room was well equipped with glass mugs, drink ware, kettle, cocktail shaker, good bathroom amenities. I was unhappy that we were notified 30 minutes before check in that the hot tub was out of order and no options were given to us until I pushed to move to a hotel in same owner group. Michelle was helpful and did make some arrangements for us that were appreciated but better, advance communication would have been appreciated as there was lots of vacancy in town this night.

I really love how spacious it is, very relaxing although not satisfied with cleaning very dusty even the exhaust fan in the bathroom it's like it never get clean at all, I'm very particular when come to dust coz my kids have a allergies.. but overall it was a good stay..

I had seen this hotel prior to the new owners. They have done a great job to modernize it and create a mountain vibe. Great location. Cute rooms. Lovely hot tub.

Loved the space, self check in, cleanliness and amenities. Only feedback would be to have a bit earlier check-in and when 3 are booking, have the sofa bed sheets on so it's ready. Excellent location.

Awesome...But...

Room was nice, very clean. The view's and location were amazing! Overall really enjoyed. A couple negatives: -the clock they put in there is obnoxiously bright. We put it under a towel. - no privacy and loud. You can hear everything the neighbourong rooms are doing. You can even hear conversations fron the parking lot.

Worst stay ever . Too noisy and worst management service they did not provide clean bedsheets and room carpet filled with dirt.

great stay as usual! love the convince of this hotel and the outdoor hot tub. wish they could change the in room coffee machine though, the nespresso never makes more than a few sips if it works.

Heating system makes nose

Although it’s not always staffed, we were able to get what we needed when we needed it. The rooms are very clean and not run down looking which I appreciate. The location is excellent and the price was very reasonable. I’ve stayed twice now and would go again.

Very small room with challenging temperature regulation. Door very exposed to outside with even brief opening. Very noisy with unit above bizarre pounding going on for hours. Helpful staff, clean, comfortable bed, coffee machine and kettle for tea appreciated.

Easy check in and check out process. Love their rooms and it was quiet and clean. Being on the main floor with parking in front with a baby was such a hassle free experience. Glad they put us in that room with easy access to the street, parking, and the room. Just very convenient all around. Also loved how they communicate through email and the room was very clean and organized. Cant wait to go back.

The location of the property was excellent! It was quiet and clean and had everything we needed. Communication with management was convenient via text and email. We did find the room to be very warm and therefore needed to have the loud air conditioning and fans running to be comfortable even though it was end of October!

Amazing stay at a very well maintained, clean and comfy place! Hottub was as spotless as the room. Central location near everything. Great price-quality ratio!

I usually love this stay, but this time was frustrated as the room was loud and very bright. Also, the TV was out for a lot of my stay.

First time at Lamphouse, great location, clean and hot tub was a nice perk.

I am a big fan of Basecam properties, they are nicely renovated and have good services. However, this time I was disappointed with some little things. For example, TV didnt work at all, we had to change rooms, which was fine. But then the new unit, TV wasnt in the bedroom and wasnt a smart TV. It was slightly disappointing because the point of the weekend was to chill out and watch netflix. The location is great, and staff is friendly and helpful. But little things didnt seem to work. Hot tub wasnt turned on and jets didnt seem to work (after it finally warmed up, still no jets though). The price per night wasnt that cheap either, so felt like we could have stayed somewhere else with better amenities.

they have limited front desk hours: 2:30pm to 10:30pm. so if you need something it is a challenge. the room is small. however everything is clean. we stayed for 2 nights, the second day, they did not provide coffee pods in the room.
