Great place to stay highly recommend
Nice stay
Check in was easy the hotel was a cute boutique style hotel staff was friendly and very convenient has a restaurant downstairs with great food and decent prices for the area
The parking is practically on the street, the cabin is just enough to stay a night but it’s difficult to sleep because the place is next to Main Street so you hear cars all night long, there is a bad smell.
Very basic but just what we needed!. Staff was friendly especially the housekeepers. Would recommend and hopefully will will be back again!
Room was nice for the price
Thank you for great service!
I gave this spot 4 stars because of how amazing the people were. Specifically the man who checked me in and the overall service. The A/C wouldn’t turn on in my room so I was upgraded to a much better room with a balcony which I really appreciated! The issue is that the sheets and bedding were stained so it didn’t feel clean I didn’t even use the pillows I used my sweater lol - new linens would be a good investment for this property. Also the bathroom didn’t smell clean at all and the hallway and room was infested with mosquitoes so bring your choice of deet! I usually use the natural stuff but it won’t work in this spot… Thank you for the amazing service but ownership should consider a new linen order and maybe some bleach in the bathroom!
It is a good property and location for the price. Several things didn't work and it was difficult to get it fixed. I wouldn't take my family there, but it was ok for a guys trip.
Very great proximity to the beach for an affordable price! Great value for money. Parking is available and directly in front of the hotel. Staff are flexible and helpful
Close to the beach!
Las toallas son muy viejas, manchadas y rotas, el estacionamiento es el mismo para el restaurante y el hotel, ellos no aseguran estacionamiento para los huéspedes.
If you are ok with staying in a room that has the bare minimum this place is a gem for its location and rustic charm. The view from our room was amazing with beachfront access and the food at the Red Door restaurant downstairs was amazing! They had live music and friendly staff. There aren’t any frills and the staff did not speak English but the location and seclusion at the north end of Tamarindo made it such a delight for us.
The room was nasty! There was a cockroach, the shower was broken, and I couldn't even control the water temperature. And most of the time, there wasn't even anyone at the front desk... The only good thing was that it was close to the beach. Oh, and the people who worked there were nice, I guess.
This was my 2nd visit to Laguna de Cocodrilos. Great, quiet location right off the beach at the mouth of the estuary. Only a few minutes walking distance to downtown. Stayed in a Jr. Suite (#12) and thoroughly enjoyed my brief stay.
Nice room and view
Other than an unusual smell in the room, it’s everything you need, steps to the beach, with a great restaurant on site at a very affordable price. It’s a simple room in great surroundings
Property is located steps from the beach, no street to cross. Parking was easy. Ten minute walk to town center. Close to restaurants, shopping and nightlife.
Convenient location, and a private path to the beach. But no one at front desk when trying to check out at 8am, the toilet in our room was really dirty. You’re right on the Main Street so it can get noisy but that’s to be expected.
The accomodations were okay. The room was clean but basic and small for 3 people. Beds were not very comfortable. We only stayed one night so it was fine. Our room was on the street side and it was very noisy with traffic at all hours, even through the night. The staff was friendly and the restaurant downstairs was very lovely and a good place to sit near the beach and watch the animals in the trees. We saw 3 monkeys just hanging out in one tree and a huge iguana resting in another tree just above us.
Ok... So the access to the beach was nice. Sadly it's ridiculously hot in the back as there is no airflow near the building. The room was highly disappointing. Nothing like pictures. Mold in bathroom and main room. Dead bugs squished on walls. No cups in room for water or anything. Shower was horrible most of the time as hot water was non existent at first, then excruciating the next day and could not get it to cool down at all. There was a used toothpick under the bedsheet. The towels especially and blanket on the bed were rags. Had 1 face cloth for the entire week we stayed. Parking was precarious and sketchy right on the road. One couple that started 2 nights next to us had money stolen from them their last night. Crazy dogs next door (possible the owners dogs) woke us up every morning but the last one before 6am. The locks on the doors of the rooms are terrible to operate and I had to help a couple other guests get there's to lock since I figured out mine after 2 days being frustrated with it. We did not see the sheets changed between guests in either room next to ours and the guests changed almost every day. The restaurant next door, which is NOT PART OF THE HOTEL, does play music until 10 or 11pm, but they were very nice and have great service and amazing food. They informed us that the hotel is being bought by another hotel owner and there are plans to clean up and renovate the current hotel and premises. I recommend that people only stay here if you have to.
Decent value for the money. Beach is excellent. Clean but very basic. A coffee machine would really help as there is no sign of life until the restaurant opens later in the day.
We stayed in suite #12 and had a great ocean view. I think the view would have been better in room #11 as it seemed they didnt have as many trees blocking the view. The room had a nice size bathroom with shower that had hot water and pressure as long as they qerent watering plants outside. The room came with a safe, fridge and giant balcony with table and two chairs plus some floor pillows. The linens were stained and ripped but clean and comfortable. Towels need to be updated or have those available to bring to the beach. LOTS of ants, if you plan on keeping food in your room make sure to bring ziploc baggies to keep the ants out. The Red Dor Restaurant downstairs adds such a cool vibe to staying on the balcony which was one of our favorite things to do after sunset. Also lots of iguanas and saw monkeys almost daily. If they updated their linens I would give this facility 4 stars but currently its more of a 3 star hotel with the location and the restaurant downstairs adding in that 3rd star. Easy to walk to downtown/beach pr grab an uber and go. This hotel is on the nice sandy, private end of the beach which is a giant bonus.
Property is very well located. Walkable distance to supermarket and restaurants. Parking on site and friendly staff.
Walking distance to town and beach
We loved this place! Walking distance to downtown. Very friendly staff.
The security guard was very nice. The towels are small. There was a lot of noice from the restaurant downstairs
Overall a very great place directly on the beach. Far enough from downtown for quiet night, but still pretty close and walking distance (10-15minutes) to all activities and restaurants. Nice owners and staff
The room facing the street is very, very noisy and it has a bunk bed without a safety bar on the top bunk. My two adult boys had to share a twin bed. After suffering for a night, I asked to exchange to a room that has two double beds the next morning and we were given a better room without extra charge. If the story ended here, I would have given a good review. I was given three keys for the new room and there are no labels. So I had to try one by one. When two keys could not enter and the third key was fully inserted, I naturally thought it was the right one and started to turn. The key was broken right away. It turned out to be the safety box key that I inserted. I was not given a replacement key to use for the safety box. And the lady asked me to pay $40 to replace the key and showed me the contract I signed saying it cost $30 for losing safety box key. I did not lose the key and this is a rip off. And this hotel does not give drinking water or anything. No service at all. This hotel is to be avoided. My experience gave me an impression that people in Costa Rica are not friendly at all and all they want from tourists is money without giving any service. The lady deserves a one star review due to her rude face and her effort to rip me off.
Would not stay again
Was told at check in that there was a private party on site and we would be refunded due to the inevitable noise disruptions. Since then, the owner has refused to refund us despite offering to in the first place and has ignored our attempts at communication (she was very welcoming and helpful prior to this). The room itself was basic, which was fine, but the small towels and thin bedding did not appear to be cleaned or they were just extremely old. The mattresses were thin and they sank when you sat on them. I also bruised myself on the wooded bed frame because it stuck out in the limited space. The piping in the bathroom was all out in the open and the toilet leaked on occasion after flushing. There were very few electrical sockets in the room, in fact there was one and it was sticking out of the wall. The room was never cleaned in the three nights that we stayed in, and the owner told us at check in that her cleaning staff may steal our money if we left it out. As such, we put money in the safe (which was key locked, not PIN locked) and $30 still went missing. Finally, the "city view" that was advertised with our room was merely just a view of the street outside. That said, the hotel is on the beach front, iguanas were frequently on site and there is an unaffiliated restaurant attached to the property.
This one was a little disappointing. Our first night there were mosquitos and stains on the bed sheet and the AC was barely working. There were also tiny aunts in the washroom. The next morning we complained and thankfully they changed the room for us. The location wasn’t bad, the beach is right behind the property but about a 15-20 min walk from the main area. The restaurant downstairs was amazing but I don’t think they are connected to the hotel. There is definitely potential but overall I would’ve paid a bit more and stayed at a cleaner location
The staff were awesome. I sprained my ankle pretty badly in town and they were so helpful. One of the staff is well educated in first aid and he completely assessed my ankle and helped with icing it and immobilizing it. The check in was smooth and very laid back feeling. Room was super clean and great size. They have an outdoor shower to rinse of the sand. The dining room has amazing food. The price was really inexpensive. I would stay there again
This place was right where I wanted to be and easy access to all! Away from all the fuss but close enough to walk to them if I had chosen to. My room was perfect as I can see the ocean in the morning and walk straight out to the river to cross to get to Playa Grande.
There was bat poop all over the door and roof. The staff refused to clean it. Then we had to leave in the middle of the night because a rat chewed through the wall right next to our bed.
Cute hotel with everything we needed. AC was nice, as we weren’t adjusted to the heat yet. Walkable to the beach, shops and restaurants. Plus the restaurant at the resort looked so cute!!!
Parking was limited when in your room you could hear everyone else talk in the hotel too
Paradise
Great people, very helpful, clean. Will definitely go back
The staff was great! Extremely nice and pleasant and it was right next to the beach. The only thing I did not like was how uncomfortable the beds were and there is a restaurant that plays music until 10pm every night right next to the hotel.
We stayed here for one night and were impressed with the reception upon arrival. They helped us park, walked us in and showed us to our room. It had great music playing in the restaurant and was very quiet when it was time for bed. We would definitely stay here again.
My wife and I stayed at the Cocodrillo hotel for our first visit to Tamarindo . The hotel is a fairly typical older hotel with a few quirks - but the location and the views from the upstairs rooms 11 & 12 are just amazing ! The location is great as well as you are close to all of the beach action but just far enough to be quiet when you want . A 2 minute walk to the beach and the owners were super accommodating as well
The door to our room was unable to lock. The shower did not have hot water. Extremely loud music was played until midnight. There isn't a nice walk to the beach from the hotel.. There is a huge drop off that looks like a dried up river. That area needs crossed to get to the beach. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The TV in the room was the size of a computer monitor and their reception was poor.
Deck overlooking the beach.
Quiet and clean.
Hotel was ok. Staff helped with transportation to airport when expedia wouldn’t. Recommend the hotel, stay away from Expedia
Great place to stay! I stayed on the ocean side bottom floor and it was so amazing to be able to walk right to the beach. The room was very clean and had everything I needed. The staff was very nice as well. TV didn't really work, but that's fine because I wasn't in CR to watch TV. Walkable to the entire town. The only thing you need to note is that this is absolutely NOT soundproof like the listing says. I heard everything outside as well as in the next rooms and upstairs.
Nos gustó la habitación, bastante cómoda y limpia, fácil acceso y cercanía de puntos de interés.
Good clean, no frills, place that is away from the main part of town. Close to the beach.
I would recommend this Hotel to anyone that wants a quiet no-frills stay in Tamarindo. Great owners and decent rooms. Close to the beach, but far enough from the noise.
Terrible! We got there 2:30 PM . No one in the reception area to check us in. We finally found the owner, Sandy, in 5e back room where she lives. Got to the room, and we decided we didn’t want to stay there. My wife and I called Expedia to moves to another hotel,we called them 3 times, and Expedia told us that we can not move unless the owner agrees. So we decided to stay in, and the next day Sandy confront me and my wife as to why we called expedi? Then the next day I went into the a fragile safe box that was in the hotel, where we kept the passports and money. Hold and behold! A $ 100 dollar bill was missing from the safe!,,,,,,,, We decided not to confront Sandy, we were not feeling safe in that place. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE NEXT GUESNOT,NOT TO GO THERE!!, horrendous Service, not to mention we got robbed.!
nice enough room by CR standards. Sadly no coffee for the mornings. It was nice to be close to the beach and the red door restaurant on site and an excellent Chinese restaurant next door
Low vibe pleasant stay
I stayed in room 12, which is a junior suite, the more expensive tier in this hotel (double the other room rates). This was a pleasant room with balcony, AC, TV, large bathroom. It is on the older/rustic side; and was cool and clean. From the balcony, you can see the beach/ocean. There is restaurant on the first floor - it did not bother me. Bed was very large, and the right level of firmness. There was a net around the bed, which gave it a royal feel. Owner is very nice, and he has interesting stories to share. He used to be surfing champion of Costa Rica; AND a golf champion. Few things to be aware of: This is hotel at the entrance to town. You are extra few hundred meters away from the action. While it is a beach front hotel, beach is a long non-paved walk. In room 12, view of the beach is blocked There are various animals running on the roof at night; and it sounds like they are running in the room. It can get very scary, and having ear plugs may help you. Also, there are small monkeys, that yell very loud - it is also rather intense. This is a very small hotel/motel. Not much of a travel desk. You will need to use someone to else to schedule / find yourself trips. Net-net - it was a pleasant, low key stay. Because of location on the edge, you may use Uber more often ($5 usd to any part of town). I am not sure if the price/value ratio was balanced at the time of my stay - and this is Tamarindo, where everything is expensive.
We only had hot water one time out of two nights. We ran out of toilet paper & had to take from the nearby restaurant as no one was ever at the front desk. The restaurant on the premise, The Red Door, was excellent!
Good located hotel, the restaurant is spectacularly beautiful and the staff is very friendly. Good size room and even wild animals around. A minor issue with the amenities, but certainly an enjoyable staying.
Location, location, location! You can see the ocean from the hotel, the beach is a 1 minute walk and there is nothing but nature between the hotel and the sand of Playa Tamarindo. Plus, it is very easy to walk to many restaurant, bars and shops. The room was simple, bed was comfortable enough, the AC worked well and there was a refrigerator which was a nice surprise. The hot water in my room didn't work and the only person I ran into to ask about it didn't know what the problem was. I was only there for 2 nights so I didn't make a big deal about it. Although, if I was staying longer I definitely would have wanted hot water! I think if I tried harder to have it fixed, it would have been resolved. I also think they forgot to sweep the floor when they changed over the room, other than that it was clean. The wifi was ify at best. Don't plan to work from here. There are restaurants/cafes with strong wifi close by though. Overall, it's the best location for the price and it was fine for a 2 night stay. Would I stay again? Yes, probably, if it was on the weekend when I don't need the wifi to be reliable. I would also test the hot water when I checked in.
Very dirty. Room AC was almost nil due to lack of cleaning of outside unit. Unit was completely clogged. Mesquitos, ants and spiders in the room. Hallway to rooms very dark, had to use cell flashlight to find keyhole. Beds stiff and uncomfortable. Night club downstairs constant beat made sleep difficult. Only positive was that it was inexpensive.
Old but clean
The restaurant was great
Room was beautiful,I had upstairs oceanview. Thank goodness the mattress was a bit soft, hard mattresses kill me. AC was chill. Food was gourmet. You're gonna pay Yank prices. My one meal there was A . Starting with a gourmet rooll and the best hummus I've ever had. The Osso Bucco was huge, tender and delicious,as we're the obviously fresh veggies. I was in Tamarindo 3 nites. I regret waiting until last nite to try menu!! The music that plays on a loop was also fantastic. Proper volume level and a stellar mix of jazz, soul, reggae, island vibe tunes, some R&B. Owner has excellent taste in music. Two complaints. They need to build a trail from restaurant to beach. And the TV situation is effing ridiculous. Not one Gringo channel. Not even CNN. That's worse than pitiful. But please, eat there, you won't be disappointed...Michael Altee, old fart from Jax Fl
Nice place nice people good location.
Arrived as hotel guests, left as friends.
We loved this hotel! It’s a little older, charming and very comfortable. The view of the beach from our window was breathtaking. The owners and staff were very friendly and helpful! They have a wonderful boutique bar and restaurant called Wine and Soul. The delicious food, created by a gourmet chef is served al fresco. It’s the perfect romantic getaway! The only thing In this country that is more beautiful than the scenery, is the people!
It was more of a motel then hotel the best part is that you are in front of the ocean great sunset
Location Location!!
Location Location... pretty much beach front. Very safe place. Mauricio and the owners where great. Apt #11 has the best view!!!
fantastic time
location is fantastic, weather was a dream ...beautiful time
Little bit of heaven in Tamarindo
Beautiful place great location right on the ocean. Friendly helpful employees. Highly recommend.
Great little hotel. Placement is quiet far from the nightlife just enough to enjoy the beach quietly and relax with the kids.
The attached restaurant served up a nice lunch and the hotel is beachfront.
Hotel was great but main road noisy late at night and early morning
Not Quite What We Expected
We chose this place basically as a crash pad since we arrived late our first night in Costa Rica, and it served that purpose. There was a mix-up about someone meeting us at the airport (they didn't show), and the room we were led to was not the one we booked, but we rolled with it. I believe there was mention of a breakfast, but there was nothing (the attached French Bakery mentioned was closed and empty). Olivier, the bartender that the clerk pulled over to interpret for us was fun, and helpful.
I appreciate minimalist environment. Very nice staff, very helpful, bar and light foods in the evening. Beach view. Comfortable bed.
The property is on the beach which is perfect. Otherwise I would facilities are below average. An old hotel with old fixing. Room looks like it hadn’t had a good scrub in a long time and ants crawling around throughout the room. Would not stay there again if I had a choice.
Quiet and relaxing vibe - very friendly.
Located at the end of the beach strip, this was the perfect place for us for 3 nights in Tamarindo after 2 long weeks of roughing it. Highly recommend and would stay here again. And squirrels outside your window in the palms!
Upon arrival hotel was dark and locked... Took many calls and some yelling to get someone, 10 minutes later, to open the gate.. Oops - wrong bed configuration in the room.. Oh well.
Great location, close to the beach and clean room.
Comfortable, clean, excellent beach access!
We had a great stay! The apartment is spacious, well-equipped, and has excellent light. The bed is hard but we slept great. Big bathroom, plenty of storage. Fast WiFi, cold AC. The cleaning staff is wonderful and did an excellent job every day. Everyone who works at the hotel is friendly; the one time we had an issue they resolved it fairly and immediately. Beach access is awesome! Just a one-minute walk out the back. In the rainy season the pathway can get a bit muddy and buggy, though bug spray and the outside shower made it not a big deal. Very walkable to the restaurants and shops on the north end of town. A great option for surfers looking for an affordable stay, since there are breaks right out the door and the pangas for boat trips further out. We would absolutely recommend and stay here again.
Very nice place in a very nice location. I would stay there again.
The location was great! Staff was friendly and helpful. The price was VERY fair too.
Staff was absolutely great. All friendly and helpful. They willingly helped us by allowing us to store things there when we toured the country for a spell and took to the time to introduce themselves. The only hiccup was our Expedia reservation (from 2 months prior) somehow was not recorded in their books. This led to a double booking as our reserved room was occupied for one night. The quickly gave us the best available room and then switched us the following day... no problem. Accommodating but not ideal.
To consider that it is very far outside the real city. No curbs make the way to and from the hotel a dangerous challenge, especially during the night. As far as amenities: Don't even ask for beach towels or complain about ants in every corner of the rooms. Bar and breakfast bistro are a little overpriced if you consider the location.
The location is fantastic for the price. Open and airy the hotel sits right on the beach in a beautiful tropical garden. The bar was nice, the breakfast was a little expensive but eating it outside looking at the beach made it worth it. The only thing I would change is the bed was extremely hard.
Great value for the location just steps from the most beautiful end of Tamarindo beach, facing Playa Grande. Only concern for ocean facing units is the evening parties and entertainment on the patio next to the rooms. But those wrapped up by 9 pm latest, very quiet after that.
Very unconsidered management staff was nice
They changed our room to second floor saying that I had cancel a main floor room with a small patio with sea view for a second floor with city. View really????we are senior ladies and my friend had an injury in her leg and uses a Cain to walk then we had to get help from people passing by to carry our suitcases reception lady said she would not and there was no elevator not very nice people the don't deserve 3 stars
good Hotel to stay reasonable rates for a beach hotel Very friendly management always willing to help. I plan to stay there again.
Proximity to ocean. First class bakery for coffee and croissants. Room "tired" -- needs updating. Shower antiquated.
The property has direct beach access which is great. Great location in town - easily walkable to many restaurants and shops. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Lovely beach. Incredible french pastries. Staff accommodating
This is the BEST place in Tamarindo, especially because of its price. It’s a beachfront hotel with wonderful rooms and a beautiful yard with hammocks and tables. There’s an awesome French restaurant and bakery directly on property that is the perfect touch. They have pastries, coffee, pizza, alcohol, etc which makes it very possible to have breakfast in bed or dinner on site. Staff was wonderful. Downtown Tamarindo is within a short walking distance in case you don’t have a car.
Away from the busy part of town
This is a very nice hotel right on the beach but away from the busy, noisy part of town. Rooms are clean, a/c very good but could use a chair or small couch to sit on. Staff is great and very helpful, security is excellent. The hotel is associated with a restaurant that serves excellent breakfasts on the hotel patio. Drinks are good too. 10 minute walk to the centre of Tamarindo.
A pleasant experience except the noise level in our room. It was just a few feet from the patio where people ate. Noise level woke us up early and one afternoon kept us from napping in the 97 degree weather. Short stroll to town and a quick walk to the beach. Extremely pleasant and helpful owner and staff.
Great place to plan your trip
Nice hotel on the beach and walking distance to the party area of town. Staff are super courteous and very helpful with booking tours. We had a room on the road side so it was a little noisy but on the patio on the beach side is a lovely clam oasis. (Note: most of the rooms are beach side)
Disappointed
Dark and dingy. Run down property. Plenty of insects in spite of realizing that they are all over. Only plus was the from the French man at the desk. Needs a make over.
Visited for 5 days, the place was great except it was noisy in the room we were in, we were on the 1st floor right next to the restaurant so it was noisy, but otherwise, loved the place.
Lovely, would stay again
Nice little hotel, backs directly onto the beach plus hammocks, chairs, and a beach shower in the back. Short walk to town. Clean and comfortable, very safe, great hot water. There was also a wall safe, hair dryer, AC, fan, mini fridge, tv, and fast WiFi. Definitely would stay again.
Great staff but RunDown Hotel without Amenities
Room was clean enough but had too many bugs that bit my roommate every night. Hotel needs a pool in a big way! Could also use a restaurant/bar. I couldn't even get ice and glasses for drinks unless I went to another place and brought it back - not very relaxing on vacation! If there were other places available in the area we probably would have moved. Had to lug our baggage up and down stairs to our room by ourselves too.
Ooh la la!
We were quite pleasantly surprised to realize that there is a French Bakery/Bistro on the premises. The Hotel and Bakery are independent from one another, but seem to have a symbiotic relationship. We breakfasted and lunched there daily, never tiring of the delectable treats, then tried several of the local places for dinners. The grounds are cared for lovingly, and the flora/fauna was stupendous. This is the only time in my 50 years of traveling the world, that the staff, individually, came and hugged and kissed us goodbye upon our departure.
Great Little Spot for Value-Driven Travellers
Excellent little corner of the world if you’re looking for a value-driven experience right along the beach. The location is great, at the tail end of the strip if you’re not interested in the loud after-hours antics. It is only about a 4-5 minute walk at most to the main drag of the strip. Do beware of the street noise if you choose a city-view room at this hotel as the cars and traffic can be noisy. The room gets very bright in the morning as well. Otherwise, the room is cozy and cleaning staff are very friendly. The private walkway/sitting area/garden is quaint and tidy with friendly staff and hammocks. Our hot plate didn’t work and it took the staff about a day and we had a brand new one. They are strict with towels so be sure to bring your own beach towel. There is a French bakery/cafe on-site which offers nice pastries and light meals. Do not try to cross the estuary next to the hotel to get to Playa Grande, even at low tide - we saw a medium sized American crocodile upwards in the lagoon/estuary and the staff do warn you to keep away. The main part of the beach is fine as we surfed and swam every day.
nothing to brag about
Nothing great at all. Liked the location but that was about it. No pool
Clean, nice decor, easy check-in, crocodiles.
Trish at the front desk was super helpful. Bakery inside the lobby was tasty. Bar was rarely open. Nice hammocks an outdoor shower. Crocks on the estuary beach about 100 yards away. $35/person to take a boat tour up to get close to Crocks and monkeys. Super rare for crocks to go into the ocean. I swam and felt safe with lots of surfers around. Restaurants, shopping and Brewery close by. Bed was big but a little hard and the pillows were stiff. Room was nice and the balcony was great.
Nice hotel on beach
Warm friendly staff to assist with excursions, recommendations. Relaxing garden area with hammocks, chairs in the shade; short path to the beach. Room had good AC, fan, fridge, wonderful hot shower. Bakery on site.
Ok for the price.
Beach front, quiet location. As long as you don't expect too much it's a decent accommodation for the budget.
Good for the price
Was happy with it, only things that were bad was the Mosquitos, we went to the auto mercado and bought an electric mosquito killer so made it ok....the parking situation needs to be explained better online as it is not exclusiveand or private, staff was pretty good especially the night watchman except the place is left unattended for awhile in the early morning hours, it was clean we had one scorpion in our room tucked in a dirty shirt left on the floor at nightwould give it a 7 out of ten, it wasgood for the price and comfortable, and I am prettyeasy to keep happy! Breakfast would be nice to have there as well!
About 30 steps to Tamarindo beach.
All the staffs were super friendly. Beach is right there from hotel. There is a small river before the beach, and a baby crocodile lives in the lake. Room was super cute and good size. First room, the AC did not work, but they offered us a bigger and nicer room without extra charge. Every morning, there is a cat greeting us. There is a Costa Rica coffee every morning at the back yard, and you can just sit at the back yard and relax with a lot of nature and a lot of birds. Free parking and free Wi-Fi. I will definitely stay there again !!
Hotel review in Tamarindo.
Staff was excellent. Hotel conditions were subpar. No backup power generator for power outages, cable TV had terrible reception even before tropical storm Nate formed. Without fan or AC, rooms are an oven. No candles offered for light to see the big roaches coming under the door. Again, the staff was excellent but you can only do so much with what you have.
Great value!
Nice hotel with very friendly staff. Plus, its right on the beach and right at the end of the main strip. The wifi, shower, tv, and ac all worked great. The room and bathroom are very spacious.
Laguna del Cocodrilo | Hotel in Tamarindo | Travala.com
The chambermaid Marta was great The rest of the other than two people were the worst staff in my coming to tamarindo for 15 years. People working behind the bar and the receptionist didn't even say hi when I entered the lobby. Really sad.
