Nice hotel, excellent gardening, nice pool

Very nice.

Big room and shower nice pool

Docelunas was a great place to just chill out by the pool. Suite was very spacious, room service available! Location is out of the way of busy Jaco, but still close enough to get uber eats delivered!!!!

Very relaxing, quick drive to the main strip and beach. Recommend !

Beautiful Facility with Friendly People

We loved the hotel. My wife and I were there for 3 nights as part of a combination business trip/vacation. The staff was wonderful, including great recommendations for restaurants. The facilities are very clean and beautiful. The best part of the stay is the beautiful grounds. It is a lush jungle with monkeys and birds, as well as beautiful flowers. The furnishings are pretty basic--older but functional pieces. The beds are very firm. As we were working remotely in the mornings, WiFi was important. It was pretty reliable, but sometimes dropped for a minute or two. It is very secure, with gates keeping out anyone who shouldn't be there. The included breakfast was quite good. My only negative was a lack of consistent hot water. I'm not sure if we were sharing a water heater with another room, or what the issue was. But each shower, hot water lasted only a couple of minutes--just long enough to soap up--and then turned cold. But overall, it's a beautiful facility with friendly people. Highly recommended.

The pool area is awesome, the room very comfortable.

This place is a little oasis away from Jaco (5 minutes) Lots of birds in the morning and a friendly staff. Great pool, but hot tub doesn’t work. We’ve stayed here three times in the last 12 months and always easy and clean.

I didn’t know what to expect. It was very quiet. Not much to do on site. I wish the restaurant was ooen for dinner. Front staff girls were delightful and helpful with booking excursions. Also for recommendations of local restaurants. Room was huge. We enjoyed the property cats. Tell coquetta hello!’

The grounds were beautiful. Saw howling monkeys. The staff was very responsive to inquiries. It was not within walking distance to anything but was a 15 min Uber ride to town

The property was really nice, if you like being in the rainforest. Lots of wildlife, there were many bats that lived outside our door. We saw monkeys, cats, birds, etc. on the property. I could do without all the spiders and bugs, but I understand that the appeal of the place is to be immersed in the tropics. Just be mindful of that. But overall stay was pleasant and the staff was amazing, very friendly and accommodating.

Me and my friends loved our stay at this hotel. It was the best hotel we stayed at in Jaco. If you love being surrounded by nature check this one out. The pool is beautiful and the staff is very friendly, helpful & welcoming. The rooms are also spacious and they have a gated parking lot, so less worries about leaving your car parked at night.

I really appreciated the front desk staff. Although everyone did their part.

King size bed! Which is really fitting for a “cabana” as palatial as this place. The room was absolutely stunning, with a private patio out front. We were floored at how nice it was. The pool was wonderful too, pretty large, warm, and with a little waterfall. The city of Jaco was around the corner and walkable if you’re so inclined. Which you’d need to visit for at least lunch since they only serve breakfast and dinner. We did not have dinner and would say the light continental breakfast was average if not a little lacking. And we’re still surprised that a country that prides itself on coffee doesn’t have a big pot brewing early (6am?) for the “early birds” that are up at the crack of dawn. Overall, highly recommended- would have loved to stay a few more days.

Relaxing Stay in a Beautiful Environment

The hotel is in a beautiful setting and our suite was spacious and private. The restaurant is quiet, delicious and fairly priced. The spa and yoga area is only open on appointment, and that was a bit of a disappointment. The pool is really nice. Loaner bikes were a nice touch.

This was the second time my husband and I have stayed at this beautiful location. The first was our honeymoon in 2011. From the welcoming staff at the front desk to the attentive and kind staff in the restaurant, we always feel well looked after. The grounds are gorgeous and meticulously maintained. I use a walker and the paved pathways are fabulous! The front desk staff helped us to coordinate with one of the local tours & the restaurant staff really took care of us (quick with the Imperial refills! LOL). Thank you, DoceLunas - you are a treasure!

Great hotel and staff.

We enjoyed the quiet jungle vibe. The husband/wife team that runs the restaurant and bar are fabulous. Food was good and we did massage and yoga.

Would not stay here again. Place was very very old and hasn’t been updated. Shower don’t work, flooded the whole bathroom. Front desk never texted when the room was ready although they said they would. One plus is that it is gated and you need to be waved ib by the guard but they never checked if we were actually staying at the hotel. Def skip this place and find somewhere better.

Beautiful and tranquil property away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Has a beautiful garden and pool. We woke up early to see the capuchin monkeys swinging around the trees. We loved our large room and bathroom. We ate at the restaurant and it was pretty decent food.

Huge rooms ... Breakfast could be better.

The rooms are big, the bathrooms are bigger. The swimming pool is fantastic and there are plenty of trees on the property. The in-room coffee is good. Two issues I had (1) the free breakfast has very limited options. (2) we had booked two rooms and both had showers that leaked water in the bathroom. FYI there are lots of cats and a dog on the property so if you don't like cats this place is not for you.

I have been to Jaco in the past and typically hate it, but when staying here I enjoyed my stay in Jaco. It is located about a five minute drive from downtown Jaco, but its worth the drive because this place is set up in a heavily wooded and landscaped area. The pool was awesome, with color changing lighting and a mini waterfall. Hearing both the morning and evening sounds here was priceless. I would definitely stay here again.

Nice property!

The grounds of the property are beautiful. The staff are so welcoming and friendly. The pool is a good size, great jacuzzi and wild monkeys visit to eat the fruit from the trees around the pool. The rooms are clean and big - the lighting in our room wasn’t the best - but everything else was amazing. We had breakfast included, and it was very tasty. We would definitely stay here again. It’s a great deal, close to everything but feels very secluded.

The property was beautiful! We loved seeing the monkeys, toucans, frogs, and other wildlife around the pool area. The resort was well kept, and we felt very safe with the gated entrance (There was always staff by the gate to let us in and out of the property). It was very close to the beach as well, a 5 minute drive. I recommend eating at Jaco Sabor just down the street

I wish we could have stayed here longer! We arrived at SJO at nearly midnight and didn't get in until after 1am, but it was no problem. I had arranged a private driver to bring our family through the front desk and he was right there waiting for us with a sign with our name and drove us in a clean private van. One of the resident kitties greeted us and we were shown to our room not quite realizing how gorgeous the grounds are in person. Awaking the next morning, what a treat! The grounds are lovely, we had their delicious Tico breakfast (teens approved!), and were delighted to have the wildlife show come right to our view as we ate: white faced monkeys in the trees right in front of us, iguanas, etc. The room was great and easy for our family (2nd floor, no elevators so FYI about that), the whole resort was quiet, clean, the pool so refreshing, the staff extremely helpful. Keisha helped multiple times - from helping answer questions over email and WhatsApp before we arrived, arranging our private drives to/from SJO, to helping order dinner to be delivered from a local restaurant since we just wanted to stay in their paradise and the hotel restaurant was closed. We didn't need a beach resort coming from Los Angeles, so the jungle/tropical surroundings were perfect for us. 2 adults & 2 teens give this hotel all the thumbs up! Thank you for taking care of us and we hope to return!

Beautiful, tranquil hotel grounds.

This place is really special. It's as if they built a botanical garden first and then put a charming hotel inside of it. Great staff, clean premises, delicious food, and away from the noise and commotion of the beach, but walkable to it in 25 minutes. Quiet and serene place, highly recommended!

My husband and I came her for our honeymoon, and let me tell you. It was PERFECT. There were a few key things I was looking for and this hotel aced all of them. 1) I was worried about bugs (I know bugs are unavoidable outdoors but I just wanted to know none were in my bed). Docelunas provided incredible clean rooms. 2. Easy check in/friendly staff: we arrived a little late cause we got lost coming from the airport and the staff greeted us right away. Had a smile on their face every time we saw them, and were extremely patient with our poor Spanish speaking. 3. I wanted a room that felt like Costa Rica and didn’t feel super commercial. This cute hotel is just outside of the main downtown, it’s quiet, and the ambience is unbeatable. You truely are in the forest with all the wildlife and beautiful sounds. 10 out of 10 recommend staying here. It exceeded all of our expectations. Also the cats and puppy running around. Are super friendly and hard not to want to adopt.

Peaceful Retreat

Great stay, peaceful but close to Jaco when required

Staff are friendly. I loved the pool area because you can swim and watch the monkeys play. Rooms are big and very clean. When I go back I plan to stay there again

Loved that it was quiet, just 2 or 3 minutes drive from the main strip but away from the bustle. The grounds are gorgeous and the staff extremely friendly and helpful. Food was great but their cocktails were just a little sweet for my taste. All things considered, would probably go back next time I'm in Jaco

nice pool, nice staff, nice living in jungle

Beautiful hotel and perfect for animal lovers. We really loved the staff ( Angel, Carmen, Keshia and Jordan) at the front desk. Maria and Raquel make excellent meals and the serving staff Jorge, Daniela and Frank were very welcomimg. The garden staff and housekeepers all take pride in their duties. We would recommend the stay. A short drive from the beach but you feel like you are in the jungle with many exotic flora and fauna to see.

Our family of 4 (2 adults, 2 kids; 12 years old) stayed for one night at DoceLunas and loved it! The pool is spectacular and the grounds are a beautiful bouquet of jungle and flowers. The staff were very helpful, spoke great English and you’ll be greeted by the hotels pooch and numerous sweet cats. The hotel is near the end of a road in a neighborhood which you can explore by bikes supplied by the hotel. There’s a 24 hour security guard at the gated entrance and we felt very safe. The rooms were great; large, comfy beds, and very private. The breakfast was incredible! You won’t be disappointed!

It was off season , so I think there were only 3 other families there. Very nice and quiet. There is a family of monkeys that live on the property. The front staff always taking care of us.

Beautiful property with great staff and amenities. The rooms were aging but were enormous. The potted plants inside may have been the source of a few large insects that staff were helpful to remove. Gorgeous property

The hotel is situated within a gated park full of beautiful flora, a riotous crowd of monkeys, birds, and more. Such a beautiful, peaceful retreat, with a lovely pool, yoga studio and outdoor restaurant. A very nice oasis!

The property was very well maintained. The staff was incredibly helpful on booking tours and all transportation for the tours and taxis into the city. Facility was very clean and well maintained. I would highly recommend staying here.

Beautiful property and staff very friendly. The bed was hard and squeaky. Shower barely warm and low water pressure. Cold water had high pressure. Advertised as having Restaurant and bar but only open on Saturday. If you want the free breakfast plan on it taking an hour.

This is tough; at 58 years of age, and both a Military Officer, and Senior Global Business Man, I hope people can trust in what I state from the heart. I went to this property to help myself medically; yet they showed me what teamwork and the fundamentals of being a true human being is all about. No one would ever know or feel what I do unless they personally experience this God's Gift to Mankind! Pleasant and comfortable

The best thing about this hotel was the size of the unit, which was very spacious. It could do with some upgrading, but overall was very pleasant and comfortable. It is also in a great location, outside of the main town. Breakfast was mediocre, but the staff were friendly. My biggest complaint is that there was no hot water for the shower, and so every shower I had was cold.

The property was closer to mountain than the beach. So, it as quite in the sense no people problem, but there was certainly "tropical" life/noise to deal with. It was to be expected and it was fine. Beautiful grounds.

I have stayed here before and it just keeps getting better. Huge rooms, great ambiance, and the folks here take a personal touch. they walk you to your room! the wifi lost connection to the internet, walked down and let the front desk know and it was up before I got back to my room. 5 Stars!!!!

A beautiful amazing place. Imagine a hotel in the jungle. Beautiful pool with monkeys monkeying around. The restaurant is gorgeous with Joseph that gives you the most excellent service ever. The owners gave us clothes since our baggage was delayed two days which was very kind. They have free bikes if you want go explore around. 10 out of 10. Thank you everyone.

Beautiful grounds!

The room was spacious, and the grounds were beautiful. We were only there for one night, but the pool area looked gorgeous. Only hiccup: The hot water in our room wasn't hot. But it wasn't a hige deal. Glad we stayed there during a stopover before Carara.

Perfect hotel!!!

Hi everyone, I’ve stayed over 2 weeks in this gorgeous hotel, so hopefully I can be of help. The hotel arranged a shuttle service from the airport. Driver waited with our name tag and drove us in a nice a/c’d bus. We’ve arrived pretty late but a person was there to help us get in the room. It was spacious, comfortable beds, good wifi signal, ceiling fan plus an air conditioner. All the other necessities were available. The hotel garden is an work of art. Heavenly garden with mango, banana trees, butterflies, flowers covering all the color palette. In the mornings monkeys come to eat the fruit! I also saw tucan’s flying around, lizards etc. The staff was professional and friendly. There is a nice sized pool with a little cave and a waterfall and a hot tub. Dinners were delicious! The cheff Maria was excellent. They have beach bikes that you can borrow and it takes 5 min to get to the beach. Taxi is always an option and it’s cheap only $3-4 to get to the main strip with all restaurants and shops. I can’t recommend this place enough!
